Can't search in gmail? VIDEO - Thinkpad Tablet General

Hi guys!
I hope someone can help me pinpoint this issue. It is going to force me to return my shiny new TPT if I can't find a fix soon.
Every time I try to search gmail, the TPT starts looping through a weird refressh with a green flicker and sometimes kicks me back to the inbox.
I don't get it!
I've updated to the latest firmware and am currently running .0086.US
Has anyone gotten this to work right? Is it just a bad tablet?
I've recorded the behavior for your enjoyment so you can see what I'm talking about.
Thanks in advance y'all!

Android market won't open

I rooted my new Epic last night using the one click root. I then deleted most of the bloatware and my phone was working fine. I may have deleted a couple of apps that I needed though accidentally. The two problems I am having are that my android market app won't open and whenever I do a hard restart of the phone my home screen apps get cleared. When I click on the Market app it flashes to a white screen for less than a second and goes to the home screen. I have tried downloading new vendor.apks and it still won't work. Any help for either of these two issues is greatly appreciated.
Try to use odin to flash a fresh di18. Search around for a thread with a tutorial (there are a lot of the, just search epic 4g back to stock or fix brick (I know your not bricked)) If this helped please hit the thanks button! Please post problems with fixing in the return to stock tread .

Thanks for the tip. I might try this if I can't figure it out soon. The only downside about this is it will wipe my contacts out right?

Your contacts should be synchronized with Google. Unless they're stored on the phone itself, they should be fine.

Same issue too. I'm thinking in going back to 3.1 and tiamat 1.4.4
Do you try quadrant score?. I get better scoring with 3.1
Hmm seems to of synced some bookmarks at some point last night.
same BS here
Tried posting in the dev forum under the rom thread, but no answer ...
This is really frustrating
Any news ??
Guys, Are there any news ???
I've posted the Q' on numerous forums, but it seems that no one knows anything.
How could this be !??
I even went back to 3.1 to see whether this is a 3.2 problem, but the sync is not working anyway !
what's going on ?
I have the same issue on non rooted 3.2
And I can't use Opera mobile !
It blocks browser opening when I click on a link
and do the samething with my videos...
3.2 is unstable....
Same thing here on a 3G Xoom. Flashed back to stock doesn't help. Don't think its the devices I think its something on Googles end. BTW I'm on 3.1 so its not the version.
I recovered to original launch day nandroid directly after root and the problem persists. Google's side for sure.

[Q] Any Atrix owners want to help with debugging my app?

So I've recently published an application to the Android Market and I'm trying to get the app to pass Amazon's approval process, but they keep citing a force close bug on only the Motorola Atrix, which I don't have access to.
If anyone could help me out with testing the application on an Atrix and could possibly send a log or something, that'd be great. We could do some tweaks and then send it back to you to test again.
Really need your help guys.
The application is called GPS Phone Tracker in the Android Market; I would post a link, but this account hasn't reached the post threshold yet. Sorry!
If you're willing to help, just let me know in this thread and we can get started.
Thanks.
can't really find your app on the market.

Search for "gps phone tracker" and it should be within the top 5 results. When I search for it on the web version of the market it is 3rd. The publisher is "Cell Phone Solutions"
I wish I could link it.
On cm7 it launches fine. Not sure about stock.

To be more specific, the bug would occur when you click on the map button at the bottom of the main screen to view your (or your friends') positions on the map.
If you can get to the map without a force close, then maybe only the stock rom is affected by this bug.
Thanks for all your help so far, guys.

I'm stock. no problems with the map feature. checked my own location and had my friend install it on his phone so i could see if it was a problem with checking on someone else.
worked fine for me.
Tested on Atrix with CM7. The app crashed during the registration process after clicking on the send info button.
Registration completed successfully anyway, since I received the activation code.
Bug report sent.

Thanks a lot! I assume you sent the bug via the force close dialog, so it will show up in the dev section of the Android Market, correct?
As a side note, we've been trying to use an Atrix virtual device to debug the app and have had trouble launching it because the virtual machine doesn't like some of the GPS calls or something. You guys are helping me out a lot.
Anyone else that wants to try, it would still help to have a larger sample size.
Thanks!
Tested on Atrix running RedPill Hybrid, no issues.

Running on a stock Atrix, I had no problems viewing my location on the map.

[Q] Skype will be the death of me [SOLVED]

I have a Nexus 7. I have root. No custom ROM; the most modding I did was adding a cool font. I have Skype. I have tried both the official version and the lasted SkypeMod. I have downloaded and run CameraLauncher.
Here's the problem: When I am in a video call, I can see the other person just fine AND I can see myself in the little box in the corner. However, the other person cannot see me. They just see a little circle going round and round like it's waiting for me to transmit.
I have verified all settings and that I can soot and record video. This is driving me mental and ANY help or thoughts that could lead me in the right direction are greatly appreciated in advance.
/onlyhalfthetime
have you tried re-installing the app?
try another video chatting application (Google+ Hangouts, GTalk) and see if they give the same issue. then youll know if its the app itself or some hardware issue

This is a good troubleshooting step and I will try it later today, but like I said I can see myself in the little box in the corner while skyping and I can run the camera app.
Thank you for your suggestions so far. I'll be back tonight with results.
I can't even get Skype to login here.

Thanks, but I've tried that one too. I must be doing something wrong because I can't find anyone else with this problem.

Rarely use skype but did try it on my rooted/stock nexus 7 and got exactly what you describe, video on nexus 7 but not on recipient's computer (only audio).
Could it be because you are rooted that causes the issue...... Like sky go you can only use if not rooted. Try using voodoo ota to temp hide root and then restart Skype.
Don't use Skype, not sure if affected by root. No harm in trying.

That is the version I am using too.
I realized today that I am a moron. I was only testing the Skype with one recipient. so, what if the problem was on their end?
Turns out, they were using a laptop with a mobile data card. I just used my wife's phone with the Skype app and all went well. video on both sides. :victory:
However!!! I need to continue testing because before I tried that I fund the advanced settings in SkypeMod that forces video calling! I checked Force-enable Video-calling, Force Camera Rotation, and Unlock Orientation.
Since I had to search high and low for someone with the same problem and no resolution, I understand how frustrating that can be. I will continue updating this thread and [SOLVED] it when I am satisfied that I got the answer for the people from the future.

New info!
The SkypeMod makes skype work on my rooted EVO 4G! that's a two year old phone. I had long since given up hope of using skype. This is awesome. That is all.
/onlyhalfthetime
P.S. When I'm not poor (I got the nexus 7 for Christmas, haters), I'm gonna throw the dev a few shekels. :good:
It was indeed the other person's issue. No one else could Skype him either. That was silly on my part. However, I did uninstall SkypeMod and reinstall the regular app and got no video with anyone. Maybe because I'm rooted? Using SkypeMod I was able to skype anyone and they could see my video. Just make sure you go into the advanced settings and force enable video.
What an awesome apk. I am still floored that it works on my EVO 4g!
Marked thread solved. Have a good one, gentlemen and ladies. :highfive:

Silence Issue

After upgrading to Oreo i have been having a issue with my phone randomly unsilencing. I though it was an app i downloaded but i checked all notification settings i could think of and it hasn't help. I also had the app prior to Oreo and i don't seem to remember it having this issue. Anybody else seeing this? Is there a way to see a log of what changes the sound volume?

You could use the app called matlog and run it and when it happens you can pause the log capture and upload it as a text file. I'm not great at reading logs but there are many forums that could help you out all over XDA.
