Galaxy note 10.1 rom for gt 10.1 - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

can the Galaxy note 10.1 rom can be a Source for the ICS Rom for our GT 10.1?

Release Date of Galaxy Note 10.1 is unknown
ICS for Galaxy Tab 10.1 should be out by Q1
This means, most likely, that ICS made for Tab 10.1 will be out BEFORE galaxy Note 10.1
Catch my drift?

How would anyone here know this? The Galaxy Note 10.1 has yet to be finalized. My guess would be no.

I think the question here is not to get the Sgt note 10.1 rom to tab 10.1 for the sake of ICS which was already promised to be released, the issue is how possible is bringing the s-pen capabilities to the Sgt. if this happened, the note would be of no greater use even with better processor and micro SD port.

From what I can recall, the "pen" part needs an hardware sensor on the tab also, so without this sensor, the pen (and software) is useless
Anyway, any standard touch screen pen with TouchScreenTune would work just as well

The note has an exynos chipset so no.

Yes, the Note series has special digitizer hardware from Wacom not present in non-Note devices.

S note on galaxy tab 10.1 gt-p7510?

Hi,
I looked at the function in galaxy note 10.1, and I really like the S note function. I have a question, is there any possibility tht s note will work on my galaxy tab 10.1 gt-p7510??
I hope that someone can.port the feature to our gtab 10.1 too.
TQ.
Are you talking about the software it self or the ability to use a pen?

I mean the software cuz i know s pen only works for the galaxy note and galaxy note 10.1. I can always use a stylus pen to replace the s pen. Thanks for making my question a bit clear !!

Galaxy Note 10.1 vs Galaxy Tab 2 P5100

Hi guys,
Please help me to make the right choice
I need a 3G tablet, capacity doesn't matter and to be honest I don't really need stylus.
I stuck with those 2 tablets as I own Galaxy Note phone.
Are there more significent differences?
- a 3G Note 10.1 (£500) will be about £150 more than Tab 2 (£350)
- Note has better camera 5mp vs 3mp
Performance:
- can I split the screen on Tab 2 with 2 apps at the same time like on Note commercial videos?
- can I use these tablets like phones when I put my simcard from my old Note?
- is skype working flawessly on both?
Thanks for any advice!
The processor is a lot better in the Note and you cannot split apps on the Tab 2, no idea about skype or phone.
2 gigs of ram, 5ghz wifi, 4 core exynos , haptic feedback, superb s pen etc.(end of tinking capacity ) had the tab 2 for like 3 days, returned it back and got the note instead as I've thought the tab2 wasnt nearly as good as the tab1. On note(3g of course) phone & sms working just like on my sgs3.

If you can afford the note, go with that. The performance difference is huge. Also, I tried skype on the tab 2 and while it worked, the picture quality from the vga front facing camera was sub-par. The touchwiz version on the note 10.1 is also closer to what you get on the s3 while the tab 2 more closely resembles tab 1 10.1 touchwiz.

There's really no comparison between the two. If the money is not a major issue then the choice of the Note 10.1 is a no-brainer. The processor plus 2GB RAM in the Note make it the fastest tab out there while the Tab2 crawls by comparison.

Here you can see that I use my G'Note 10.1 3G with my AT&T SIM Card. Works great!

Only Note. Tab 2 is very slow.
There cannot be a comparison between the two as they are from two different product line I would recommend go in for note its a much better and refined product

These tablets are very much comparable. The Note however would be the bigger brother of the two.

The note is from note series which are devices with stylus and tablet is like any other tablet every piece of hardware in them is different from each the only similarity is the the screen size and the fact that both are made by Samsung so how can they be compared...
Even if you compare the two Tab will not stand a chance as it is inferior to not in all aspects so its like comparing a iview tablet with a note

[Q] Galaxy S III C-Pen compatible with Galaxy S4 ?

Does anybody know if the Galaxy S3 C-Pen will work on the Galaxy S4 ? That stylus isn't listed in S4's accessories on official website.
yes why not
the c pen just a normal stylus only
I think it's a little more than a simple stylus. On my S III it works as well as my finger. On my Nexus 7 it's not very efficient. It works to unlock screen, and do some stuff, but I have to stress a bit to open an app for example.

[Q] Using Note 10.1 builds

I'm just wondering what prevents us from using the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 android builds? Am I correct in that we even use the same pixel count (1280x800), so the display shouldn't be a problem either...
I see the following difficulties:
no "hardware" buttons on the 10.1
the front camera is a bit different.
I was doing this on my previous tablet, an acer iconia a100 (where the big tablet was more popular, and it worked great), but we had different size screens so sometimes we had difficulties.
Just a question,
cctsurf
As it stands right now, if you were to use 10.1 builds, you will more than likely brick your note 8. They have similar hardware, but not they are not identical. If it were to work, it would take a dev to tweak and port the roms over. Just use what is available for the note 8 for now, or keep to stock.

Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 Lollipop ROM port possible?

I was wondering if it's possible to port the 5.0.2 update from Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 T-53X to S3 Neo since they share Snapdragon 400 MSM 822X.
The same was done to Galaxy S3 i9300 and Note 10.1 N8000 before the Note 2 and S3 LTE updates were rolled out and used as bases.
I heard that some devs have tried to port it, but they failed.
What's the problem, RIL?

Galaxy Tab 4 is a tablet and S3 Neo is a phone, DPI problem. We can port S5 Mini Lolipop.

There wasn't such a problem with S3 and Note 10.1 so DPI or the fact that one is a phone and the other is a tablet is not the real issue. Kernel would be an issue but I try to get where the porting process stalled. Also good luck trying to make a port from an Exynos 3470 to a Snapdragon 400 device, it just won't happen, if people can't port Tab 4 10.1 ROM anything else goes to the "impossible task" realm.
Their is also Galaxy tab 4 8.0 & mixing is with E5 (launcher UI & cetera if it's a 32 bit build) is probably not a bad idea (as they have same amount of ram)...
