HELP!I think I bricked phone - myTouch 3G, Magic General

http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=51888
I followed that tutorial and now my phone just wont go to fastboot or anything it just stays at vodafone splash.

I don't know Spanish, but I'll try to help you... Can you post your Fastboot info? Boot into Fastboot mode with power+back and copy the five or so lines at the top of the screen.

Thanks but i am no able to access fastboot after installing spl ,they told me that somehow it can be recovered with pushing power+trackball... I do not know.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Sgh-i777

To recover it from power+trackball you need a special tool that costs.....(RIFF JTAG).Do you have access to recovery(power+home and wait for 1 minute after vodafone logo) or android?

I do not have access to non of them. it stays on red splash screen that says vodafone. I tried pressing vol down+power. home+power, trackball+power(gives me black screen and blue led). But nothing at all not even on my computer it is recognized.
edit-I made a samsung 1gb goldcard.
I really do not understand well the use of a gold card I only managed to install an update in it via hboot. Then tried installing modified spl and... screwed it.

Damaged SPL maybe..Did you removed the battery or something unusual happened when flashing spl??If not try removing the battery for 1 hour and try again to enter Fastboot mode.If not again i dont know..(i think bricked)

after flashing spl it said reboot phone to complete pressing back and power button i did it and nothing, removed battery and at the moment I removed it, the icon on background appear the one that looks like a box, when you install updates to android. And since then the phone just wont let me enter fastboot or wont load up, I was wondering if there is someway I could enter fastboot.
Thanks for the help.
Phone is screwed, only gets to vodafone splash... no recovery access, no fastboot or anything. Any suggestion?

If phone does not load into any mode - then it is successfully bricked.
P.s. three modes
Recovery: home + power
Fastboot: back + power
Hboot: volumedown + power
P.p.s. search for repair-shop with jtag hardware. They can restore your phone

Yes i am very sure, As i have previously installed many ROMS on it but this time its not even going into bootloader mode.

Yes, that's the funny part; can enter bootloader mode. I've followed the instructions to burn a new ROM to the SD card. After I burn the new ROM to the SD card, I can then burn the new ROM, but as soon as I choose to hard reboot my device, I receive a message reading; CLEARING, then the display fades and nothing further happens.
I will post this answer in the other threads with this problem, but I installed Tomal's WM6.1 v8.2 and the phone worked fine afterward. I think the problem is that some phones don't accept all ROMS.
If only i could enter bootloader mode i would have tried whichever rom you would have suggested but my problem is different i cant even enter Bootloader mode.
And i think only a service center can help me nothing else.

It sounds like you bricked yourself. Providing more info may help. How did you root? Did you use ROM manager? What version of clockwork were you using. Do you have engineering bootloader. What Rom did you try and flash? What version were you on? Be as specific as you can and the great team of guys/girls here can walk you through it , if it's recoverable at this point.

Do you have ADB installed with the usb drivers? If not I would do that and then run adb devices and see if your phone shows up. If that doesn't work I would either get a new battery to see if you can at least get to the bootloader and then revert to stock or call HTC at 866-449-8358 and play the victim card. Good luck!
if you pull the battery and put it back in. Hold down the power button and the volume down rocker on the volume controls. Can you get into hBoot?

[q] lg2 bricked \ dead

My LG got bricked after OTA update. After it got bricked I use to see LG logo then certification error but few hours later the phone was like complete dead. It won't even power on, no black screen or lg logo. I connected it to charger overnight but it is not even getting charge. When i connect it to PC it says USB Not recognized.
PLEASE HELP me out. My device was just a day old
Was the device rooted with custom recovery ?
If not -
Code:
hold power + volume down ---- wait for lg logo - release SHORTLY and keep holding volume down + power again..then proceed with the reset.
If the combination does nothing try this one:
Code:
hold power + volume down ---- wait for lg logo - release SHORTLY and hold volume up + volume down..then proceed with the reset..
If this doesn't help then:
hold volume up and connect to pc, download your kdz, flash it.
If there are some other issues share them here to receive further help.

I see the "hd2" in your name. If you remember(if the hd2 == htc hd2) the magldr you know you can't charge while the device is off.
I think you didn't charge at all.
Well I can't know really, you can try to replace the battery and see what's happening. They might replace it. How did you brick it ? You didn't answer was it ordinary ota or custom recovery + ota. They might replace it if it was ordinary ota.

I think OTA + custom recovery as one of my friend said who has knowledge about this. He said the error ( certification error) which i was getting after the phone got bricked was coz of OTA + custom recovery
Well you should know is the phone brand new, did it have TWRP etc ? :/
it's weird..phones don't get rooted and with custom recovery preinstalled without user knowledge (hm..not lg phones)

I bought it from friend who rooted the phone and gave to me.
BTW i have mailed LG US and they told me to ship the unit to them.
Do they at least repair the device in paid service if they reject under warranty as it is brick (on rooted phone)
I am worried if I ship the unit and they reject it as it is rooted phone. Just want to know will they replace the motherboard in paid service so that my device will be live again.
Depends where you are from. Some say that the rooted status in EU doesn't void warranty (didn't try...)

Okay. i will give a try by replacing my battery with my friend's one.
But tell me what process should i do after that coz if it again drains fast it will be a problem.
btw my battery is still in good condition right ? it only need to be charged on phone which is not bricked
If the battery was fine before the bricking then it's also fine now.
Well, for start try entering custom recovery again.
And see the error, see if you can "fastboot devices", if it finds the phone.

And it was not even going on Download mode. It was just stuck on black screen after that certification error.
Try charging your battery while his battery is in your phone (put your battery in his phone) or however you like.
Then we try to figure something out

Nexus 4 Will not boot up

Hi,
My brother is having trouble with his Nexus 4 and I was hoping I could get some help here.
The phone won't go past the boot animation, with the 4 floating balls.
It keeps showing that forever (left it for 20 minutes with charger, phone got really hot but did not get past the animation)
- Never rooted or changed firmware. Only updates from Google. (It was on 5.1.1/5.1/5.0.1)
- Sent to a shop, which claimed it can't be fixed (I do not know the reason they gave him).
My brother thinks it is because a weight was accidently dropped on the phone, but the problem only started 3 days after the incident.
No outer damage can be seen on the device, other then a small brake in the back glass.
Thanks in advance to anyone who will try to help
possibly?
Did you just update and it got stuck at the booting up????

Do you have data on it that you want to keep? If you don't you can try booting into the bootloader and unlock it. Then try flashing a factory image. This will wipe all the data on the phone though so that should probably be a last resort.

I have no important data on it.
Which is the safest way to do this? I'd appreciate it if you would be detailed or refer me to a guide, as I want to be careful.
Where should I download the factory image from?
As the name of it states, I wish to get the one from Google, without any changes or addons from users.
Follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/how-to-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2010312
You can download factory images from here https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

First we should check if you can boot into the bootloader at all. First turn the device off. Then hold down both the volume buttons and then press and hold the power key. Keep holding all the buttons until you see some different colored text. If that happens we should be able to install a factory image, if it still gets stuck on the Google logo I unfortunately don't have any more ideas.
Tried pressing both volume keys and power button. Google logo show for a second, then black for 2 second, thank flashing red notification light every 1/2 second until I let go of the buttons.
When I release the buttons, the phone goes back to charging battery screen.
I see people suggesting that the red light flashing means a battery problem, but the device keeps trying to boot up while it is not plugged to the charger, unlike what happened to them
Any Ideas why this is happening or what the red light means in this case?
You need to press volume down+power button to get into bootloader. Unplug the charger before doing this.

Oh it was just volume down, not both. Heh, sorry.
Use the Nexus Root Toolkit (NRT), it's the easiest way to unlock, root, flash and manage your SuperUser needs!

Not sure, but maybe?
You can try using the nexus root kit & unlock your bootloader and see if a factory reset can work. If it does you can always relock it again ☺..Flashing a factory image can work too also ...
Tried volume down+ power button while unpluged from charger.
Google logo show up with vibration, then goes away after 2 seconds, like before, but then the screen goes blank. But red led not flashing.
What should I do now? Even just to use the Nexus Root Toolkit I have to allow Developer mode, which I can't as the phone will not boot up.

I'm you can't get into the bootloader then I am unfortunately not aware of any way to help you. If you can't even get into the bootloader I think it is a high probability that it is a hardware problem.
I understand. Thank you for your attempt to help me so far, I apriciate it
Anyone else has any Idea what I can try?

First you have to ensure "The Situation" of your phone, diagnostic is very important to decide the kind of medicine or treat. Your N4 booting, stuck on google-logo with red blink, then black screen.
To check : Connect your N4 to PC on linux check on terminal command $ lsusb if output

That sounds like the battery is completely empty. Put the device on charger over a night and try then to boot into the bootloader.
Once I had these symptoms (red light flashing) on my N4, it was enough to charge the battery for one hour. Then it booted properly. It's worth trying.
