ics for xperia 2011 - XPERIA X8 General

http://blogs.sonymobile.com/wp/2012...e-for-unlocked-2011-xperia-smartphone-models/
look there , can some one port this to x8 ?

You can't have this on the X8 because of the following reasons:
We need at least 512 Mb of Ram. 1 Ghz Cpu minimum or at least 825 mhz.

You must be using Xperia™ arc S, Xperia™ neo V or Xperia™ ray, running the latest Xperia™ software release (which is 4.0.2.A.0.42). Please note that you can’t use the original Xperia™ arc or Xperia™ neo, as they have different partition layouts.

Well, have much fun trying to port the ROM for the devices mentioned above to the ARMv6VFP of the W/X8.
But then...
Look here, we actually already have a partly working ICS ROM for the X8

What the hell are you guys talking about ?! If that's the case, paul-xxx's cm9 shouldn't even work

I've never said that he's working for nothing..
Just that x8 has hardware limits.. It's very difficult for me to try explain it in english..
Look. Try to port windows 7 on a 800mhz with 256mb ram.. It will be extremely difficult.. I think it's a little the same.
Course he's doing great job.. I tested it and it's running well.. but I'm perplexed that we can run ICS with all of his fonctionnality on our x8.
But I hope I'm wrong

And honeycomb is made for tablet sized screen.
It is optimized for tablets. But i remember reading that it had support for HVGA screens(in the sdk)
I flashed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=982384 after changing a few things in the build.prop and it worked. But it only boots and lets us use the touch screen (like in X8), so unless someone knows how to "fix" things this is all we can get I'm afraid.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Gingerbread Update Might Deliver Multi-touch and Mor

Might is a very tame word. Considering the device does not have the ability to handle anything more than dual touch, this is interesting news.
it will bring multi-touch, resolution 1024x768, blu-ray support.. etc..
and all that on 2.9.26 kernel build.. uv, oc too.. come on ppl be happy if that gb even moves with that time/medi-scape s**t...

Are you crazy? It will deliver 1440x900 resolution, 1080p recording at 60fps, 8mp cap lifted to 16.1mp, fps cap lifted to 58fps including 3D with some accents of time/mediapain.
Well, this was originally posted in brazilian Sony Ericsson official Blog, so I think we could give it a shot. A lot of people said X10 wouldn't support even dual touch, and now we have it. Maybe Sony Ericsson found a way to fix it, despite the hardware limitation, bypassing, I don't know. If SE said multitouch will come with the 2.3 update, I guess I will wait hopefully for that.
The source is in portuguese and I'm too lazy to translate it now, but you guys can believe what I'm saying or use a translator .
2.3 also brings: Full HD screen resolution, native .exe execution, CoD Black Ops pre-installed, slide out joypad like on Xperia Play, and Airplane mode finally turns phone into airplane of your choice, just like we all expected when seen it for the first time...
Also, don't forget about kexec exploit fix == stuck on SE's FW... But with all these functions, why would you want to switch to another ROM??? Enjoy
lol hahaha... iam so excited about the new GB update coming soon...
Read somewhere that the official.update will be released.at the end of July.

Nope. He hacked the CPU power to route it through a Galaxy S2
Pshhh dual core is sooo the day before, talk to me when you have 8 cores implemented
You need Galaxy S II, then with simple CPU reroute process via Wi-Fi, BT, J-Tag, USB and a few more solder points you connect X10 to Galaxy's CPU.
Then you take super glue, and stick the phones together. zdzihu will publish the pictures soon
It was easy, and during the process RSA key was found - it was a nice surprise to find all root, red and brown keys under the CPU on a piece of paper, hand-written with signature of SE's CEO

Yes! we don't need official rom,, custom roms are more better
Who needs a official ROM now?
I think custom rom especially gingerdx rom is much more better than the official one. It faster and smooth like hell..^^

Thank Doixanh!!!

I'd say that chances of ICS coming to our X8's are slim to none. Don't get me wrong, I'd want ICS on my phone more than anything, but hear me out. Recently, Zdzihu managed to port ICS for the X10i. According to him,
[WORKING]
- it boots
- radio, calls, txt (sms)
- audio partially working (in-call is fine, playing mp3/ringtones leads to WLOD)
- bluetooth, GPS seem to work
- wifi almost working (“can’t find wlan0 device”)
- mobile data (it gets IP but disconects afterwards, needs investiagtion)
[NOT WORKING]
- most of the stuff does not work
- quite unstable
This is the X10 we're talking about. If it isn't even perfected or completed on the far (hardware) superior X10, how can we even hope for it to be usable on X8. But hey, who am I to talk, i ain't even a dev. I'm just a fat lazy 14 year old on his X8. I mean, they said the X8 and X10 couldn't handle Gingerbread (initially) but look how far the x8 and x10 dev's have come

CM 7.2 port to Xperia SP

I want some starting tutorial to help me port cm7.2 to xperia sp...
Don't ask why, for me gingerbread is the best version of android...
I would love to see SP hardware running gingerbread
It would be pointless to port Gingerbread to the SP, it's almost five years old and most apps require ICS or Jelly Bean to actually work.

Look at this. Jelly Bean and KitKat have the most market share, why do you want to install an OS that's nearly five years old? How long do you think it will be until the apps you use stop supporting GB? I feel that developing GB for the SP would be a complete waste of time, you'd be better off just installing KK, which is fast, stable and will (probably) be around for a few years.
I think that CM9 should be better.
On my old SGS I9000 ICS works much better than GB c:
Good luck !
