Summary for our Droid Pro (In Progress...) (08/05/2012) - Droid Pro General

There are 2 Motorola Pro, but they are very similar (European/Argentinian Motorola Pro only GSM and American Motorola Droid Pro CDMA/GSM)…
We have discovered that you can swap the mod kernel and apply your preferred rom
And so…
If you have 2.2 (EU/AR/USA) or 2.3.3 (USA) you can put all roms/backups with specific kernel (see below).
But:
If you have American 4.7.3 (GB 2.3.4) without root, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1556237 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1590489
If you have Argentinian 2.3.6 GB without root, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1606353!). With this rom (from sbf installer) don't change your kernel!!! (2.3.6 argentinian) you can put this rom, http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-pro-roms/205948-aosp-4-0-4-cdma-gummy-1-0-0-4-17-12-beta.html, without any kernel, or also american backup 2.3.4, without any kernel.
---------------------------------------------------------
And so.. Remember you must put the specific kernel with specific rom/Backup, see the scheme below:
A) If you want European froyo: European backup – put Froyo Kernel (not if you come from 2.3.6)
B) If you want All mod roms, and all American backup – put American Kernel 4.7.3 (If you have any issues you can choose also American kernel 4.6.8 http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?racmsfbovf6i8yt. But you can’t use this kernel with American 4.7.3 backup)
C) If you want Argentinian Backup 2.3.6 - only Argentinian Kernel 2.3.6 Don't change your kernel if you came from this sbf (argentinian 2.3.6. sbf)! You can't put froyo kernel/backup, but you can put all others
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Steps:
1) Root with http://www.psouza4.com/Bionic/ or what do you prefer..
2) Install droid 2 bootstrapper from market, open the app click on the first button, say ok…
3) Choose and download your right kernel for right rom or backup, see below
(summary: While in recovery mode, and without rebooting at all:
...a) Wipe Data
...b) Install Radio Unlock (only if you are american user: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1365444)
...c) Install specific Kernel (see below)
...d) Restore specific Clockworkmod backup (you should have extracted the clockworkmod zip so the folder is located on your sdcard at [ie clockworkmod\backup\...] folder (with the system.img and other images under that folder))
5) Download them in your sd (kernel and rom are a .zip, backup is about five files that you must put on your sd under clockworkmod\backup\nameofbackupwithoutspaces.)
6) Reboot in clockwordmod choose backup and backup your data!!
7) Always in clockwordmod, choose install zip from sdcard and choose your kernel. Now we have 2 options, if you have choosed a backup to restore (7), or a rom to install (8)
8) If you have choosed a bckup Without reboot choose backup and restore and choose restore the new backup if you have choosed a backup, then wipe data.
9) If you have choosed a rom, choose install zip from sdcard and choose your rom, then wipe data
10) Did you make your backup? Did you have done wipe all data? Did you have choosed right kernel for right backup/rom?
11) Only now reboot Reboot!!
12) If You want unlocked gsm (for American users) see here… http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1365444
13) If you are restoring your backup, don't wipe data, but remeber the right kernel for your backup...
14) For enabling gsm on ics see the attachment!!
---------------------------------------------------------------
A) If you want European backup – put Froyo Kernel
B) If you want All mod roms, and all American backup – put American Kernel 4.7.3 (If you have any issues you can choose also American kernel 4.6.8 http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?racmsfbovf6i8yt. But you can’t use this kernel with American 4.7.3 backup)
C) If you want Argentinian Backup 2.3.6 - you can do only if you are on Argentinian 2.3.6 Don't change your kernel if you came from this sbf (argentinian 2.3.6. sbf)! You can't put froyo kernel/backup, but you can put all others roms/backup

You can't reboot in recovery clockwordmod because you have installed a wrong rom (bootloop or you see only motorola's logo)?
Install droid exlorer on your pc and open (http://de.codeplex.com/releases/view/66510), plug in usb cable to your computer (have you installed the right drivers for adb?) reboot your phone (shift+alt+del), let to your computer (and droid explorer) to recognize your device, choose on droid explorer "tools > apply rom update > choose any little zip (also a fake zip, it isn't important!) on your pc > reboot and apply now...
Your phone will reboot and you are on the standard recovery, press volume up and down together (or @) and choose reboot... Now you are in clockwordmod...

2.26.20, 2.26.60. 3.0.87 are froyo...
I really don't know if you can install them on our european. I knqw that you can install only 2.26.20 with froyo.
The american gb is very buggy (the others)!
The argentinian is good, but we don't have any root, and lock our device.

thanks for clearing it up! this means I better don't update to GB.
To be honest, I don't expect an "official" root solution to be available any more.
But I don't really understand why 2.3.6 on Pro+ can be rooted but not our Pro rom...

BTW, dettofatto bro, just one point to note. lol
GB Rom for Verizon (4.6.8) is a GB2.3.3, not GB2.3.4
thanks for the hard work again.

Updated first post...

There's an issue with the dropbox files. The account has generated too much traffic, so it's been shutted down :S. Please could you re-upload those files, BTW I'm only interested in the Argentina's SBF but the other sbfs will be also terminated if they are in the same account.
THx in advance.

[Q] New upgrade help

Hi,
I bought a Legend a couple of weeks ago and I been playing with it, I'm to afraid to try to root it and at the end I'm leaving this phone to my wife and getting something more high end for me.
Now I noticed that Froyo is out for the phone. But when I try to find the update OTA it says that my phone is up to date.
The specs are
Firmware version
2.1-update1
Baseband
47.39.35.09U_7.08.35.21
Software number
2.06.709.3
I don't want root access or anything (but if I need to root it I will), what I do is
Downloaded the debranded ROM
put it in the SD Card Root file.
Start the Phone in recovery mode
But I get a big red Triangle with a ! sign after that.
Do i need the "golden card" to be able to upgrade?
The Froyo update is not available to unbranded Legends yet. You just have to wait a few more days (maybe) for it to be released for unbrandeds or your specific carriers ROM.
If you really can't wait you can root your Legend to install the Vodafone Froyo ROM which is already available as rooted version here.
Here is a thread with a good overview of some important threads you might want to check:
Development FAQ
You will find the links to two threads you need to root your phone.
1. [HOWTO] DOWNGRADE to 1.31 which you can then root for Legend 2.1
2. [HOWTO] Rooting your Legend! Guide from MoDaCo!
after successfully rooting you can download "ROM Manager" from the Market and for example this rooted Froyo ROM:
[ROM]FroYo - Android 2.2 -Kernel 2.6.32.17 - Build on Vodafone release - ROOTED!. Just move the .zip to your SD Card and choose to install a ROM from SD in the ROM Manager menu.

[Q] Looking for sbf 3.4.2-179-2 GB

Hello,
I got my Defy a few weeks ago and was looking to run CM on it. But I want to be sure to be able to return to stock froyo.
I have wiped my phone and made a nandroid backup but I read in the 'CM FAQ' I'd still need a fixed sbf if I want to return my phone back to stock. I've been googling for a few hours but can't seem to understand how to create a sbf file for my phone. And the sbf I need doesn't seem to be available on the forum.
Can you guys help me or point me in the right direction? Thanks a lot
Tthe specifics are:
Code:
systemversion: Moto_version.34.179.2.MB525.Retail.en.GB

Android-version: 2.2.2
Code:
Basebandversion: EPU93_U_00.59.01
Code:
Build-number: JOREM_U3_3.4.2_179-2
Can someone answer my question?

while it is U3_3.4.2_179-2, it is not called "JOREM", instead it is the "JRDNEM" version. And an USA version at that. Intresting, when searching for these words the search comes up empty. Probably filtered because it whould give to many hits, sadly I don't know what it means now... any pointers? We are certain this version will get me back to a stock motorola defy which I could bring back to the shop for repair?
Taking this in consideration I believe I need to backup my baseband, on the other hand, cm7 has a lot of them preinstalled, i suppose the uk baseband should work in Belgium considering this post. To be certain I send a pm with a backup of my baseband to Sqoerk, the translator of the "basebandswitcher".
Hi,
I also need this sbf, it would be great if someone could share it!
OK, I'll try to clarify this for you but your question is not clear.
IF you have Froyo already and it is your stock rom, you will not need a fixed sbf to keep your "downgradability" if you choose to try CM7. But careful if you decide to try the leaked GB rom or any other newer 2.2 sbf (like the nordic one recommended for CM7).
In fact, I would suggest you to try CM7 (RC1v2) over your stock Froyo first: don't bother flashing nordic sbf.
If your stock sbf is eclair or if you want to try leaked GB, then yes you will need to find a fixed sbf first.
Follow the CM7 FAQ starting at root, reboot, install sndInit v1.4.2 (and don't forget to turn off usb debugging before tje 2 reboots), wipe and factory reset (IN CUSTOM RECOVERY) and finally install cm7 and google apps from there too.
I'm sure that you will find a working baseband in CM7; no need to copy anything in this regard. But setting 'Defy Baseband Switcher' IS the first thing to do after installation. If you don't battery wont last, hot phone and bad or no signal reception...
Hello zorofroozo,
I want to start using CM 7, but before doing that I need to find the original stock rom.
I also have a Defy with same version details as the one you have.
Were you able to find/download the stock rom?
systemversion: Moto_version.34.179.2.MB525.Retail.en.GB
Android-version: 2.2.2
Basebandversion: EPU93_U_00.59.01
Build-number: JOREM_U3_3.4.2_179-2
Thanks
Does anyone know another place to download this ROM, or can anyone upload it somewhere? Thanx!
Multiupload is dead and and-developers.com doesn't have it.

Sent from my MB526 using XDA
Hi Hso3f, your link points to a deblurred Western Europe ROM, which can result in an unpleasant and expensive surprise if the Motorola repair guy looks too close at the small print. It's not the same as Blur_Version_34.179.2.MB525.Retail.GB. It looks like this SBF is totally gone from the web.
Hi Rogier,
yes my link 3.4.2-179-2 GB points to the official Benelux 2.2.2 deblurred rom (Moto_version.34.179.2.MB525.Retail.en.GB), like asked in the op.

Looks like you're mixing up some ROMs. The OP did not ask for a deblurred Benelux ROM, but for the blurred GB ROM, i.e. the retail ROM for the British market.

Looking at post 5 of this thread and pm that i had with him i'm pretty sure that he is from Belgium:

Not the same rom???
You can see "Moto_Version" and not "Blur_version" if it was a blurred rom systemversion would be Blur_version.34.179.2.MB525.Retail.en.GB, isn't it?
I don't know why motorola left "en.GB" in system version of it, but it's like that. So, This rom that I've linked is the Benelux, western Europe, COREEU, call it what you want, rom. I know that, i'm not mixing anything. This is the same rom i had by msu here in Belgium.

Good luck.
Moto_Version.34.179.2.MB525.Retail.en.CEE is Retail Central Europe and deblurred
Moto_Version.34.179.2.MB525.Retail.en.GB is Retail Western Europe and deblurred
There is also a turkish 3.4.2-179-2 also deblurred.
No trace of a Blur_Version.34.179.2.MB525.Retail.en.GB
Official uk 2.2.2 blurred rom is, i think: Blur_Version_34.177.3.MB525.Retail.GB

There are no official deblurred ROMs for the GB retail market. Motorola deblurred a bunch of ROMs for central and eastern europe, but not for the british from GB.

There are plenty of official blurred Motorola ROMs that don't have the word "Blur" in the system version. Motorola not only sucks at keeping links on their site alive. Consistent naming of their ROMs is not their strong point either. And neither is providing timely Android updates or keeping their firmware up to date when they relaunch the same phone with a new battery and the word "plus" tacked on.
This is the same rom i had by msu here in Belgium.

The country in which you run MSU doesn't matter. The ROM you get from MSU is determined by the current system version of your phone, not by your location.
By the way, did you notice this discrepancy:
See here:Moto_Version_34.179.2.MB525.Retail.GB

The blue text may say "Retail.GB" but the link points to a URL that doesn't have the letters "GB" in it, and neither does the pdf on the linked page. Instead, the pdf states that the ROM is for benelux, eastern europe, greece, poland and turkey. Not for Great Britain.
The 34.179.2.MB525.Retail.GB ROM that I got from MSU has german, spanish, french, italian, dutch, and portuguese as available languages. And english of course, but so does every other Motorola ROM.
No trace of a Blur_Version.34.179.2.MB525.Retail.en.GB
Official uk 2.2.2 blurred rom is, i think: Blur_Version_34.177.3.MB525.Retail.GB

Official UK 2.2.2 blurred ROM was 34.179.2 when Motorola first released it last summer. I still have the Nandroid I made after installing the official blurred Froyo update with MSU. If I could turn that Nandroid into an SBF the OP would have the ROM he's after.
34.179.2 is older than the 34.177.3 ROM, but both are official blurred GB ROMs.
Some differences between 34.177.3 Retail.GB and 34.179.2 Retail.GB:
- 179 doesn't have the extra bloatware (social messaging/networking/sharing/status, cardio trainer, amazon mp3 search) of 177;
- Swype 2.25.67.18335 in 179, Swype 2.25.67.18418 in 177;
- the boot animation pulsates in 177 but not in 179;
- the accounts app is called "accounts" in 177 but "my accounts" in 179, the 179 icon doesn't have the Motorola branding that the 177 icon has;
- the gallery in 179 doesn't have the quick upload button of the 177 gallery.
The blurred 34.179.2 Retail.GB was quickly replaced by 34.177.3, which is why the original SBF is so damn hard to find.

That you don't want to understand is moto devs have left en.GB in system version of werstern Europe deblurred rom... so in this case, en.GB doesn't necessarily mean UK with blur but also Western Europe without blur...

That's the rom that i've linked, with the system info that i've posted, from droid-developers and i have also the nandroid of it (instaled in belgium, on a phone buyed in an shop in belgium, and msu was showing me provider:benelux, just to clarify) to compare...(exactly the same, it says COREEU in the file name, but have en.GB in system version, also JRDNEM in the name, but JOREM in built number.)
So my rom is not that you're looking for... ok, but what makes you say that my rom is not that isn't what zrorofroozo looking for? en.GB in system version? All system info are the same...
Also, you have a nandroid of your rom, you have a link for a most recent official rom for your region, what do you need more?
So I repeat this Sbf has these specifics in phone info:
zorofroozo said:

The OP didn't mention "deblurred" or "western europe" anywhere in his post. There's nothing in the OP that indicates he's looking for anything other than original retail.GB.

The SBF with the ROM that I got from MSU.
A Nandroid doesn't restore the warranty of your Defy. You need to flash an official stock SBF to remove all traces of 2nd init, because 2nd init doesn't clean up properly after itself.
Flashing the most recent SBF doesn't always cut it either, because MSU doesn't always deliver the most recent ROM. If you run 179.2 MSU won't update it to 177.3, even though 177 is newer than 179.

The Op disdn't mention Blurred or UK neither.
Again, you know that by the specifics that he's posted, and specifics is the same. You decided that "system version: *retail.en.GB" means UK blurred rom... but it's not true...
It's not a uk blur rom, I know that!
It's not the rom that you're looking after, i know that!
But it respect all the system info the op post!
So maybe it's the good, maybe not!
As I say before retail.en.GB can be your uk blurred rom, or also western Europe deblurred rom.
The two are original sbf with these system version.
If someone looking after western Europe deblur it's the good one, otherwise it isn't.
Now stop this sterile discussion.
Edit: I've editing the post with the link for more clarity.

But it's not possible to downgrade back to Froyo or to custom rom, you have been warned - now it is your choice

it's possible for you to change to other EURO 2.3.4. but impossible for stock froyo or any other custom rom (cm7/miui).
Concerning downgrade, we should try the procedure found by Defy owners.
They already had this downgrade problem (when they moved from Eclair to Froyo), and found a way to do it with a nandroid+sbf flashing. It should probabily work for us as well...
Take a look in defy section on xda, I'm a bit on a hurry and can't search for you right now...
Quick question: if my asian versioned MS2 installs this GB UK update, will it be able to use asian font app?
I am a UK Milestone 2 owner. When I got the phone, it had 70.12 bootloader and Froyo.
After the official Gingerbread update, I was able to go back to stock froyo, as well as custom froyo AND gingerbread ROMs, using RSD Lite, so have no fear - it's *NOT* impossible to go back.
What? Are you serious? Can you be more specific about it then. As far as we've already seen, nobody (except for you right now) was able to do downgrade from stock GB. It looks like you have some sort of magic M2 (no-efuse version)
I`ve read on this forum about engeneering versions of MS2..
this is probably such phone rather than magic

I know this site but there are no version I am looking for.
I guess that sign “OLE-xx” means the version number. Is it true?
If yes, on this site there is version: 1FF-olympus_emara-user-2.3.4-4.5.2A-74_OLE-26-release-keys-signed-NonEFIGSRetail-EU which I think is older than mine (mine was “OLE-27”).
Can you tell me if the version 1FF-olympus_emara-user-2.3.4-4.5.2A-74_OLE-31.1-release-keys-signed-NonEFIGSRetail-EU.sbf.gz will work OK with my phone which was sign “OLE-27”?
Is it international European version without branding? Is the mark “OLE-31” means that it is newer version than mine?
Thanks
My european Atrix had the ole 31 version when I bought it,and it was gb 2.34,unbranded.
Which version of android did yours have? I think ole 27 is like 2.33 or something...can anyone confirm?

Man, this is an european firmware and you got an european device, it should work but flashing with rds-lite is always a risk.
I flashed few times and i got problem for two reasons:
1) i forgot to wipe properly (I suggest to: fastboot -w, fastboot erase system, fastboot erase data, fastboot erase preinstall, fastboot erase cache)
2) I forgot to remove sd-card (f_k*d off) and sim-card (this had more luck)
Flash with battery fully charged and I think you'll enjoy.
live4nyy said:
- Fastboot wipe (optional)
- Remove sd card and sim card (necessary)
- Make sure you have proper drivers (necessary)
- Use the latest RSD (recommended)
- Make sure you have the correct (signed) SBF, best to use the build that the phone was last on officially (important)
- Double check everything (important)
- Put the phone into RSD mode (then plug it into the computer) and select the appropriate file in RSD and press "Start" (cross fingers)
Always use caution when using RSD. If you're not sure about something then find the answer FIRST.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any damage you might cause to your phone by following these instructions. This is a suggested overview and you should put in the proper amount of research and time to make sure you are doing things correctly.
With that said, depending on why you want to return to stock it may be preferable to use a "Fruitcake" as others have suggested, but I have successfully used RSD Lite to return my phone to stock in the past so it is "possible", though not recommended.
Good luck.

Go here :
https://www.meizumobiles.fr/mises-a-jour/
It's written 4.5.3i, but when you install it, it's 4.5.4i....
Enjoy
How to install?
download the update.zip on your pc.
Transfert it on your phone.
With the file explorer click on update.zip and it start to update.
Don't forget to make a backup before, and don't forget to select eraze data at the beginning of the update (in order to have a "without bug" version)
What is the difference beentween this international version and the Chinese version? Does the international version support all languages? Thinking about converting mine, but if it is accactly the same I don't think I would bother.
Thanks
