Looking for beta testers to test on app with camera issues - EVO 4G General

Dear all, we just manage to release What's My Heart Rate ver 1.5, with attempt to fix on HTC EVO 4G with sense and HTC EVO 4G with CM7.
It is an app, which uses camera to detect face micro color changes, and calculate your heartbeat based on micro color changes.
As we hardly can get such device right in our country, we drop by here, to see whether we can have any volunteer beta tester (HTC EVO 4G) on our app.
We hope someone may try to run the app on HTC EVO 4G with sense, and HTC EVO 4G with CM7
If the app able to run successfully on your HTC EVO 4G device, let us know right here. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Whats-My-Heart-Rate/289768547756578. If it isn't, please also let us know through the facebook page.
If you have problem in using the app on your device, we would be very appreciate that you let us know through facebook page instead of Android Market comment. This would make our communication easier as Android Market doesn't provide facility to respond to your comment.
Thanks!
The app can be downloaded right here : https://market.android.com/details?id=com.vitrox.facion.gui

Kitchen for any android device

I have made a kitchen for nexus one: http://feeder.pk/
The kitchen is flexible and i can set it up for any android based device. If anyone here wants to manage the kitchen for some device, just pm me and i'll set you up with a subdomain for that device, e.g hero.feeder.pk
Can tattoo.feeder.pk.
Htc espresso, MyTouch 3G Slide pLeAsE
Samsung Galaxy S please
guys, i can't manage them all, so what i'm saying is i need someone from each device who can manage it.
whats required to maintain it?
Uploading roms, apps and in near future, add mods, language files, kernels etc.
I would be interested in managing a sub-domain for the HTC Tattoo, if possible.
Thanks
This needs exposure in each individual handsets respected forum
thinking about volunteering for the mytouch 1.2
I will gladly do it for the HTC Evo. Please contact me with Info.
i would love to manage a kitchen for the Motorola Cliq! ive been looking for one for sooo long
I might be interested in evo.xx.xx
let me know
Msg me if you still need someone for the HTC Evo
Glad to see the evo getting love from others. Can't wait for it to be up
Thanks guys for volunteering
i can help out with the evo also, did something essentially similar for the moment with a few more options than i saw for the nexus one.
setup an alpha for the evo a month back, but perhaps we could work together. i'd be very curious to see the code and functions used in your version and perhaps find some synergies! great job on the online kitchen!
here are our two for the samsung moment (final) and the htc evo (alpha)

Idea For our very own Unofficial HTC HD2 Android Rom

hi everybody
ive come up with an idea, now the android builds/roms we use are normally from other android phones,Each android phone does something a bit different compared to others. Now Htc desire HD rom is slightly Different from a Desire Z rom.heres my idea, how about combining all the different features of the sence roms into one big build, you would need to use data to sd(euro hd2) Unfortunently im no dev,im just a graphic designer, heres what im thinking, base would be 2.3 gingerbread or froyo 2.2.1,have the menu from the nexus s(2.3),dunno if thats a 2.3 feature or not.720p recording if we can get that working,Evo keyboard,Strait bar lockscreen, bit like from the HD mini,Evolution sence bar(the bit at the bottom with the menu phone and personalise buttons),Framework close to stock but with a Battery indicator,Rotatable Sence From the Desire Z,Music player from Desire HD,Would be a big rom but crammed full of features, best of everything, obviusly HTC wont bring out android update for us so lets all do it.The Unofficial HTC HD2 android Rom,Any Devs wanna take up the challenge
I like the idea, but I think it would be impossible to do. htc employs teams of engineers working on these builds full time for one. And they have all the best in equipment and testing. So resources is an issue right off the bat.
In addition to that, I'm sure there's a reason why you can't move data.imgs from one build to another, they're probably not compatible.

Like the reply above me says... we don't have an army of devs and millions of $ to spend on development. It's amazing what the devs have been able to do, but the main reason they have accomplished what they have is because there were similar devices we were able to port from. We are running a port... I don't think the hd2 will ever have its own Rom not taken from another device.

The Matrix
Dude, its a nice thought but to wuote agent smith. Your living in a dream world neo.
i think it is possible, just take a bit of time, you just gotta look at it from a different angle.i have a theory about how to do it just a Dev would need actually need to do it,could even set up a Bounty if needs be but would be great to see.Base Rom we can use The desire Z 2.2.1 rom as base as its lighter than HD,i dont think Gingerbread is coming to desire Z just yet.So use that. Then incorperate the Desire HD music player(i have an apk for that)Near original framework but with a battery percentage in the battery icon(i have an apk for that).Evolution Sence bar or rEvolution you can get here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=891520 ,Evo keyboard i think we can use HTC_IME wich i have an apk for aswell, you would need to use data to sd wich has allready been done becouse it would be a big build,All we need is for someone to bring em all together to Creat the rom,If somebody was wanting to do it i can put those apk up on here for download

hid support for sense

so i sent in a question to htc and got a response i didnt like, so they asked me to fill in a survey for them about their service and i wasnt too happy at the time about the the lack of information i got and i just got a call from htc about that
i got informed that htc is not currently working on a hid solution for any of the sense phones(or any phone for that matter) but if they decide to work on it the phone of choice would be the sensation
so no hid support for any sense roms for the moment
if this is something that we want, we have to let htc know about this
This is something I would like to have on my phone!

consider contacting htc and let them know that you would like this option to be availible
at least they may take a look at it when they build future phones

My new rom (finally) coming soon

Okay, so as a few MT3GS users know, i have been talking about building a rom from the bottom to the top for a while now, but i do have to make a living, and freetime isnt what it used to be for me, SO, now that i have more on my hands, I can build my Rom, I decided to call it Fantasy 3G, which will come stock with great apps and various other goodies. It will be build from Cyanogen 7.0.3 , but will feature a better UI and more features. Also, lots of work derived from the users on XDA will be used (with their consent and accreditation of course) , it will have very little bloatware (i know people don't like that) and of course, with it being a CM7 base, Data2Ext! I have been doing a lot, and I apologize, but rest assure it will be worth the wait also, this is a MT3GS EXCLUSIVE (with possible ports in the future) so you all get it first thank you for all of your support guys, I really appreciate it!
*EDIT*
Going to include the following apps/features in the Rom (part one)
1. Netflix
2. Flash 10.1 (yes it works on my phone i tested it)
3. Different Themes
4. New Bootanimation (really awesome)
5. A root explorer
And like I said this is part one of the new features, way more to come in the future! Also, I will call the new UI "Fantasy Swirl 2.5"
For updates, I will take whatever little parts that need to be updated, and put them in a flashable ZIP file, rather than releasing a "Fantasy 3G 1.0.-" (Never understood why you had to flash an ENTIRE rom to get a small fix)
And I have one last question; is it REMOTELY possible to port, let's say, the youtube app of a tablet, to phone (by resizing the images, etc.) Before I take a shot at resizing the Honeycomb 3.0 Style Youtube over to the Slide, I wanted to know if I would be wasting my time or not!
*ANOTHER Edit (gonna be a lot of these)*
Anyone who wants some free exposure for their app can contact me via inbox at any time , if the community can support me, I can do the same
Also, there will be multiple versions of this Rom, because I know that some people are major gamers, others are major socialites, and majority of the time, people prefer one or the other! So with that said, here is an update, and I am open to opinions
1. Gamer's Fantasy 3G - Will include an all new app (Designed by Blakkfire Devs) to organize games in a cover flow-like UI, as well as its own special System UI as a whole.
2. Socialite's Fantasy 3G - Instant Access to facebook, Google+, Twitter, etc. However, still in the concept stage!
3. Fantasy 3G - The Rom, of course lol.
Now GF3G and SF3G will be released AFTER F3G! However, the special gaming app will be released the same day as F3G, but in order to get GF3G's special UI, you must install GF3G! And please be patient with me you guys, I don't like that these Roms will take so long, but I'm kinda working on the "lone ranger" team here (flyin' solo basically) So it will take time, but I promise you guys will love it
great, looking forward to it (especially if you can import the gps/wifi fix and get bluetooth working XD)!
OMG this rom sounds awsome ,, hope to be able to flash it someday, thanks for keepin the mt3gs alive haha,, as a amtter of fact thanks to all the devs who are takin time keeping the mytouch slide alive .

I'll be willing to give it a try. Keep us updated!

I have Myn’s Warm TwoPointTwo on mine and have had for the last several years.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793471
I'd used some ASOP and ROMs built on newer versions of Android but I always seem to go back.
Still the best form factor out there!

I still refuse to give up on the Evo Supersonic. It has the best form factor out there! The SD card, removable battery and kickstand make it the best out there for several functions.
Just the usual disclaimer. I have done nothing to develop the below ROM's and just passing on some good work by great people that are well worth tossing a dollar or two to support their development.
One I have loaded a "media player" ROM on it which can be found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850220
It wont activate your cellular bands and shuts down most "phone" functions. I then loaded alarm clock pro which can be found here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vp.alarmClockPlusDock&hl=en
It makes a great bedside alarm clock with a nice "floating" time display that is highly customizable and even comes with its own white noise generator!
The second I use as a full fledged media player and "gym phone" with a ring.to account loaded on it so it will still function as a phone with the wifi network at the gym if I MUST get calls or texts. The ROM I use for this is a Kit Kat ROM and looks and runs great! Its by EverVolv and Team Nocturnal.
it can be fond here
http://forums.team-nocturnal.com/index.php?/topic/1752-romkitkat-444-updated-110814/
Hope this helps! I would love, love, love to see a Lollipop ROM come out. I saw an old article saying CyanogenMod made one, but the link isnt active on it (Sigh).
Dave
Thanks for the tips Unidave199! I've also installed the Ubersonic media player ROM you mention onto my old-ass HTC EVO 4G original, and it runs great! I didn't have to flash GAPPs because it already had the play store and I could install whatever else I needed that way.
Ubersonic ROM has allowed me to run the Ingress game/app on the EVO like it's a little tablet with GPS, by tethering the EVO to the wifi of my current phone, without needing a phone plan. Nice way to upgrade to a more recent version of Android that is compatible with Ingress.
I'm curious though, in terms of different versions of Android, is there a particular version of Android that is at least version 4.0 or higher, that is particularly forgiving on the hardware? Like, uses the least amount of phone resources/memory/CPU so that I get more performance?
Difficulty here in finding valid links to ROMs that run on the original HTC EVO 4G. Most links are dead, so you can't find a download source for the ROM anymore.
I tried the Nocturnal ROM, which is KitKat 4.4.4. However, I cannot get it to create a google account, as it just says that Google servers are not accessible, so I can't access the Google play store using that ROM. Maybe I'm using the wrong version of the 4.4.4 GAPPs? Anyone running Nocturnal ROM and were you able to add a google account and access the play store to install more apps?
