this is ridiculous. They don't even update one old model that have the same spec and then release a new one that is just the same!!!! Samsung is having no respect for the customers.

How is it it's the same model?
Dual core , 768 MB of ram ... what are we talking about here?
It's a new iteration, if it's called still Galaxy S doesn't matter it's not the same as the old one - keeping a name that made history seems like a very good marketing decision doesn't it?
Probably it will sell like crazy

Vl pass... Not a worthy upgrade..
Save some more bucks n get the S2..
M getting S2 too.....

marketing techniques from samsung, release a new phone smtg like advance..but spec poorer than s2 price is small difference..upgrades i9000 to ics n i'll spend money to buy your phone samsung

Why not open a sub-section for the i9070 under the i9000 section?
It may cary the "S" name but this phone is different.
i9000 Roms will not work for the i9070.

Were is the section?

Isn't Samsung GT-i9000 SAMSUNG Galaxy S????
It was announced at CTIA this week! CPU 1GHz & 4" Super AMOLED Screen (capacitive) with Android OS.
I think that will be my next cellphone! Or if HTC releases it, a GSM version of EVO-4G

The Samsung GT-i9000 is the Galaxy S and runs Android 2.1 out of the box.
The only thing that stops me from getting this 'Superphone' is the lack of flash on the camera! Why, Samsung, why??

Optimus is a great budget Android phone that can, in the sense of hardware platform, be an wonderfull assset in the Android mod community if only someone could provide a legit custom rom. That would be a lot of fun for Optimus owners including myself. So sure we must add an Optimus sub forum modding thingy.
I am voting yes! As this is much needed as o think the gt540 will get popular.

yesssss we need a forum
I like the range of options in the poll: yes, yes, and maybe. Don't get me wrong I voted yes (bigger community is always better I don't believe in fragmentation lol) but thats not much of a poll if it only says 1 thing.
the only fail is a resistive touchscreen
Yeah its resistive but it works flawlessly ! Voted hell YES !

Hopefully, as an affordable alternative to the more expensive android phones, this phone (San Francisco/Blade) will have a large following. I for one, as an ex HTC Hero owner, have been impressed so far by it's capabilities, and would like to find out more and more and more.
I hope some day we will have our sub forum for SF/blade. Praying to god
As Future Owner i say Yes..
I say yes too!
Has 512MB RAM, too.
I talked my daughter into buying one and she's really impressed - Screen looks as impressive as my Desire (only 0.2" smaller but still OLED) The phone works well. A little laggy and you have to turn down the FPS on most live wallpapers (mario especially). Its a cracking little phone - £99 and you get gps, wifi, hsdpa, OLED, Android 2.1, proximity sensor, g sensors and a light sensor!
Another well known forum has already released custom firmware for it too and it only costs $4 to unlock to any network too....
As a budget phone - theres nothing out there that comes even close at that price... I imagine the ZTE Blade / Orange San Francisco to be one of the better selling phones of Q4 2010...
Heck - I'm tempted to get one for my youngest daughter but the wife says she's too young for a phone (she's 6)...
Oh - the internal memory - although its quoted as 150mb, my daughter kills all apps and gets 238mb available - and she's still got loads of orange junk on hers (until i flash it for her)
It is reported elsewhere as having 512mb internal memory...
If I can get my hands on one - hell yes
Please make a section for this, i think its going to be a big seller and very popular.
great phone +1
I'm also thinking about purchasing one of these in the future. A forum for this phone would be great, especially if people start cooking new roms. May be time to switch from WM6.5. Old wizard and Hermes are getting a bit tired.

It says it's for a Bluebelt but the code is the same for the ZTE Blade. It has been tested succesfully by dozens of people at MoDaCo.
Yes i would say it deserves its own space as ive just bought one today for my wife (cheaper than desire (which I have ) smaller and will do everything she needs
Yes Absolutely.
This is a budget phone. whoever want to custom or learn to custom ROM android could start from here.
I think it should has own space.
Oh the Blade so deserves its own forum on XDA ...please!
Oh yes please. The Blade provides such an excellent upgrade path from the G1...
Yes to its own forum.

[Off Topic]Create your dream phone

Hi guys i am new just moved from a galaxy gio and i made this thread to see how would your dream phone would be if you had the opportunity to build your one phone
Imagine if you could go to a shop and build a phone with the best parts available, like lets say you want to keep your Samsung Nexus S but it's specs make you want to go to a better phone like the LG Nexus 4,what if you could modify your Nexus S with a better CPU,GPU,RAM,etc.
Here is how i would build my phone:
Body:I would keep my current nexus s body but replace the plastic with a black aluminium
Display: Type:4.0 inches,Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors, with hardware buttons instead of the capacitive ones
Protection:Corning Gorilla Glass 3
Memory:64 GB built in with no card slot(enough memory for me)
Ram:2 GB
Camera: Primary:13 MP,auto focus,led flash Video:1080p
Secondary:2 MP 1080p
OS:Latest CyanogenMod
Chipset:Nvidia Tegra 4
CPU:Quad-Core 1.9 GHz Cortex A15
GPU:ULP GeForce 3
Battery:Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery

Specs are more important... STOP with 5inch display!!!
This is my dream phone... I don't know who has done it, but I thank him/her (img from HDblog.it)
I use Droid turbo, it's almost perfect in my book. But if I could change it, I'd give it a octa core processor, 6gb ram, a 5.5" display, 21mp front camera, 128gb internal storage, unbreakable screen and chrome trim.
