[Q] Windows mobile to U8800 - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Does anyone know how to instal windows 6.5 or 7 to our device.

One question; why? WHY?!
WM is not opensource, so I think it is not possible to port it. You can use ROM themes and Launcher 7.

What? You wanna install WM on your ideos x5? Why would anyone do that?

It would be something different, but yeah, don't expect it.
Sent from my U8800

Why not.
i like wm also.
free aps for both operating system
some only for android some only for the wm like garmin gps
i am a simple user and i used to have wm and i could do my job.
now i have android and i can do my job.
the way i see it when i run a program and does my work i dont care what os i use.
all these i am saing is as a final user only.
if i was a developer i prefer android.

Info Android dialer/phonepad

Let me know if by chance there is a dialer or phonepad interface android ..... for windows mobile ....
I tried the search button but I did not find any discussion on .... thank you very much!
you might be able to skin the windows mobile dialer to look like the android one, but it will never be as fast as android in terms of dialing and responsiveness. i say never in the scope of windows mobile 6.1 - who knows what 6.5 and 7 and 8 will be
+1 Looking for Android-style dialer for WinMo 6.5
Anyone know of a skin in .cab form that I can use with the Touch Pro 2 that more or less looks like the Adroid dialer (round buttonds)?

alternatives to windows mobile

hey everyone...
are there any other alternatives then windows mobile?
like a linux?
and are they better or worse?
and does anyone know when the windows mobile 7 comes out?
thanks...
Linux
Windows Mobile 7
From everything I've read (and everything you could have looked up yourself), nothing works on a Wizard as well as Windows. Many come close to working, but unless you like crippled devices, I'd stick to Windows. There are some really nice cooked Windows Mobile 6.1 based ROMS in the Wizard Mobile 6 thread.
I know you're new to these boards, and I was a noob once, too, but please use the search engines, and do some research on your own. Not everyone will be nice about this.

Android Emulator for Winmo on htc hd2

Hey guys ,
i was thinking that it is mainly becuse of apps and games that people want android on htc hd2 since the other things can be done by themes etc,
so instead of making android for htc hd2 to flash from sd card why not try to make an emulator for htc hd2 which can run apk files or something like that since htc hd2 in wm6.5 also has enormous capacity
and i think with people in Xda doing so would be possible easily
first off in my opinion i dont use android because of apps and ggames, i use it for the user friendliness plus its far batter to use then winmo. Second we dont actually flash android on HD2 we are sorta "Emulating" already over windows

actually,no not really. Haret kicks the windows kernel out of ram and boots into android. there is almost no part of windows left running at all. It's basically like dual boot except that it switches from windows>android while windows is running.
i get what your saying and i think its a good idea
if any of you have used linux on the PC there is a program called WINE(http://www.winehq.org/) that runs windows apps within the linux os i gess you want something like this
if there was something like that i know i would use it

guys, do you even understand how winmo programs even work? -_-
Hey Splder ,
yes thats exactly what i am saying since there are already emulators for gba,gbc files(Gameboy) and even Psx(.iso) in hd2 so why not for .APK thats possible and i am working on it and i managed to install a basic apk but there were some errors

[Q] Windows Mobile?

Would it be possible to install Windows Mobile on this device? (Please no stupid comments that android is better than wm, that is irrelevant)
I am interested too buth I never get answer. We have to port winmo rom and acording to android puritans no one have done it. Where to search
I don't understand why somebody would have to install a commercial OS while Android is open source....
I guess that would be very hard to do, because no one is interested in doing that.
Just buy a Winmo phone.

[Q] Is there anyone ported WM (window mobile) to android device

just wandering....
is there anyone in this forum succed or try to port window mobile to android device....
thanks......
ps: i'm sorry if i post on wrong section......
I would love to use Windows Mobile on my Motorola Milestone
Good question,I was going to ask it
since I have a chinese clone of Xperia X10.The funny part is that it was first released with WM 6.5 as the ROM.
http://www.fastcardtech.com/goods-5419-Smart+X10+Dual+os+37inch+WVGA+capacitive+screen+windows+Wifi+GPS+smart+phoneDual+sim+standby+WIFI+GPS+50MP+came.html
But I got it as android 2.2 froyo which is incapable of installing adobe flash player and it cannot even play divx/xvid movies. So I plan to switch to windows mobile 6.5 which is much familiar and was using xperia X1 for years.
I also like to know the reversing of OS is possible and like to know the process of doing it.I dont now even have the ROM of WM6.5 for it along with me.Somebody
