Thank _motley for this one. He made his magic on this one. This is, as the title says, a Stock 3.2 ROM, CWM flashable, provided as-is, no support for this stock ROM.
CWM Recovery flashable (system and stock kernel included)
Installing wipes caches, Dalvik cache, and replaces the system partition. It won't touch /data unless you do so in CWM.
Deodexed
Zipaligned
Rooted + busybox
Works great with _motley's kernel for Honeycomb 3.2.

Since it is a deodexed ROM, the first boot will take a while. Give it time.
For backup, do a Nandroid to backup your existing ROM with CWM (How-to here)
For a fresh install please use the Wipe data/Factory Reset from CWM Recovery and then flash the zip. When it boots, it will start the setup wizard like you just bought it.

I just installed this ROM, but root is not working. Also, when I go to Superuser and tap on Settings, it crashes.
I'm using motley_v2d, may that be the reason?

Negative. Kernel isn't related. Root somehow breaks (maybe wrong permissions at the system level?) and this also happens in the ICS alpha/beta and other ROMs. For that you need to fix root. There's a section in my guide for that one, How-To section.

Hi @nirogu325
Have you compared this stock ROM with Overcome 8.9 Series v2.2.0 ?
Is it better ? worth to change ?
TIA

Hi,
Yep, it was just that. I installed the ZIPs from the link, everything is perfect now. Thanks a lot, and thanks of course for posting the zipaligned+busybox version of the ROM.
It may be the subjective feeling again, but I feel it much smoother than KJ5 (e.g. list of active windows takes 1s versus 3-4s in the KJ5).

No, I stopped trying Overcome since it became a port. It may have potential but I stopped believing in ports a long time ago. This is just a stock Samsung ROM. Try it and compare.
Sent from my SGH-T959.

I am having trouble with the stock browser in this ROM. Whenever I change the uastring to desktop, then turn off debug mode, it reverts back to Android mode until I go back to debug mode.
I tried clearing everything in settings, manage applications, but that doesn't work.
Is this normal? Did not happen in stock 3.1.
Any fix? Replacement stock browser APK?

su binary is placed in /system/bin but the install scripts sets permissions to /system/xbin/su
Code:
set_perm(0, 0, 06755, "/system/xbin/su");
Move su from /system/bin to /system/xbin in the installation zip file and reinstall. That should fix it.

Miui is good as well.
Kernel: netarchys 1.3.7 with proton voltage condolences to undervolt and use voodoo functionality

Yes, but you'd have had enabled back up to your Google account before you rooted and have to enable it on the rooted phone again, then the market will try to restore all apps.
If you didn't you got to do it manually (recommend doing it via webside market for easier accessing old apps), then get Titanium Backup and save all your apps.

No. Redownload them and back it up using a backup apply. I'd recommend tianjin backup pro. It costs $6 but its worth it. It backs up ur apps/games and data along with it.
Every rom flash involving a factory reset will wipe your apps. With titanium backup pro, you can one click restore everything

I go into fastboot and into recovery.

1. Download the ROM
2. mount the phone's USB
3. put it on the root of the /sdcard/ while mounted
4. unmount
5. go into recovery
6. wipe factory settings, data cache, dalvk cache (advanced)
P.S. i'd recommend getting clockwork 4.0.0.2 from the dev forums, its a lot better. better organization on wipes
7. flash the ROM (if you're flashing CM7, you have to flash Gapps afterwards) [flash zip from sdcard]
this flash applies to any flashable zips including kernels/roms/radios... DO NOT FLASH BOOT ANIMATIONS. you put them in /system/media/ if you choose to do so
8. reboot
how do u install teh clockwork 4.0.0.2?

Just follow the instructions carefully and you will be fine.
Its not that hard really,
1. Root your device
2. Install Acer Recovery Installer from Market
3. Install the Clockwork image IN THE Acer Recovery Installer
4. Download the wished custom rom and place it in your EXTERNAL SD CARD
5. Enter Acer Recovery Installey either via the App itself which has the option 'enter recovery' or turn off your device and press Power and Volume - together until the recovery appears or the text in the upper left corner.
6. Once in recovery use the volume and power buttons to navigate. First highlight and press Wipe data/factory reset and then do the the same for Wipe Cache Partition.
7. Navigate to Install zip from External SD Card, enter and navigate to the zip file and press enter (power button is enter)
And thats it. Here is a video of clockwork and how to do it

Do that last, as you want itsmagic to calculate checksums.
Personally, though.. Why replace it? I'd leave CWM on there.

When you do a full backup using cwm, does it backup everthing..? Like a complete image of the device in which you restore and everthing is back..? Or is it just a backup of the Operating System. Thanks

Full backup stores everything, including all your settings, installed applications and so on. I just tried it myself earlier because I didn't find the answer elsewhere
Here's a question that I asked back when I was using Virtuous Galaxy and definitely applies with Virtuous Xoom: Is it possible to successfully use the Motorola Xoom recovery found in Rom Manager? I flashed it but have not had the guts to use it within Rom Manager (sticking with Acer Recovery). Thanks and sorry if it is a dumb question. BTW, I love Virtuous Xoom at least as much as Virtuous Picasso and more than Virtuous Galaxy! I upgraded from 1.0.7 to 1.1.0 with only wipes of cache and Dalvik Cache......so far so great!

I've done it a few times and it backs up everything, apps and settings and all. It makes it really easy to revert to a previous setup if you don't like the rom you just installed.

DO NOT USE ROM MANAGER OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR TABLET!
The A500 uses a checksum to validate its ROM. This checksum must be recalculated when you flash and we use the "itsmagic" program to do it. Only the A500 custom version of Clockwork Mod runs that automatically. If you flash with anything else, and itsmagic isn't run, you'll have an expensive tea tray.

Went back to stock, got EL30 and phone died...

Anxious to check out the new shiznit... i odin'd back to stock and caught the EL30 OTA... upon restart i could not get any signal, nor connect to my wifi...
had to completely restock the phone, re-root and re-cwm...
Went thru hell to get back to my miui backup
had to install MarcusantROM v3, then restore the backup of miui...
So I guess the moral of this story is... wait for the rom developers to sort it out...
In short, thanks to marcusant and xboxfanj for your hard work (And all the others working on all the roms) because your roms have been my daily drivers for quite some time...

We need people to either A) capture the URL via logcat or B) dig the update.zip out of their cache before applying it and run a SHA-160 hash on it so we could manually deduce URL on our own. Until either happens though we are in limbo waiting.
as soon as i finish the software for a customer im working on, i'll try and re-get the update and see what we end up with... Sorry but was in the middle of some work and needed to text a client...

You still can't use this update if you are rooted. You have to wait for a pre rooted version or revert to stock unrooted EC05 or stock EI22 to manually update.

NO. You must be unrooted, BML, stock EI22 to use this.
I tried to swap the modem_delta with the EC05 to EI22 zip but am getting status 7...damn!
I did the same and got it working but had to first get off Cyanogenmod
So to follow (sure there are better ways but this was quickest for me), I:
1. odin'd to EC05
2. oneclickroot
3. EC05->EI22 modem delta
4. ECI22 -> EL30 modem delta (by replacing file and resigning)
5. Will flash Cyanongen next

If you did did the GPS Fix (assuming you're on stock BML EI22), then you will need to replace the system/vendor/bin/gpsd file or else you will get an Error Status 7 when you try to do the update. You can extract the file from the EI22.zip (If someone can post the file and host it, even better).
I haven't tested the GPS after updating so I don't know if the new gpsd file fixes anything or reverts things back to what they were (ie locking on only 3 or 4 sats). If it has reverted it back, then you will probably have to re-run the GPS Fix again.
i got an error "verifying the script(?)" i forgot the complete error message when i tried to install it from stock ei22 and stock recovery.
Do you think it has to do with the fact that I downloaded within the phone's webbrowser, and renamed it in ES explorer within the phone?
I have trouble mounting my phone to my computer, so i either have to download files to my phone directly from within its own webbrowser, or take the sd card out and mount that seperatly.
@qbking77: you don't need to rename the update file to update.zip since the GB roms the stock reccovery allows you to choose what zip to use.
For me I copied both updates to my card as update.zip, EI22 and update-EL30.zip then I:
1- ODIN'd to EC05
2- shutdown
3- 3 finger salute
4- flashed update.zip (EI22)
5- shutdown
6- 3 finger salute
7- flashed update-EL30.zip
After that I:
A- copied the su.zip that removes the reinstall of stock recovery,
B- ODIN'd cwm 3 but unchecked reboot.
C- pulled battery
D- 3 finger salute
E- flashed the aboved mentioned su.zip
F- flashed cwm5
G- rebooted
That left me with a stock kernel with root and custom recovery. Made a NANDROID and have been tinkering with it.
Right now I'm tring to get CRT-OFF to work.

Even if you're using a stock rom I don't see much benefit in upgrading. GPS was still broken for me and they changed/removed things I liked in the older stock roms (ie: incoming call screen, the alarm screen [took me a while to figure out how to snooze this morning which meant I got to work on time ;-)], the scrolling wallpaper). All minor things but I didn't have any issues with EI22 so...
What's that EI29 build you have in your downloads folder, qbking77?

No SuperUser prompt in (stock) ICS

I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 (PT-7500R from Rogers), trying to root on the new official ICS.
I have followed the directions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239185
CWM installed and works fine. After applying "Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip" in CWM, I boot into Android, I see SuperUser in my app menu and can bring up its interface.
However, when I try to launch a su-required function (such as Reboot Recovery in ROM Manager), I don't get a prompt for SU permissions.
I have tried this with both OTA and manual (Odin3) installs of the official ICS from Rogers, from unrooted stock Honeycomb, several times.
I don't encounter this problem with stock Honeycomb... rooting that version appears to work fine.
I have experimented with some community builds, perhaps I have installed an incompatible kernel that needs replacing? I don't know, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,

Have you tried to see if superuser had an update in the market? I recommend to also make sure the binary is up to date in the superuser app.

Thank you for your reply.
I updated to the latest version in Play Store, it shows Binary v2.3.1-ef , update check shows latest version 3.1.1 but when I click Update, it fails on the step "Gaining root access..."
Cheers

You're not rooted anymore. The superuser app is there but it can't do anything since the su is missing. You have to re-root.

Thanks for the feedback... but I just went back into CWM and applied the root again, still in exactly the same boat.
Thanks to all, I found a solution in another thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31179418#post31179418
Superuser just didn't want to work. The SuperSU root method referred by the OP in that thread worked great. All is well again. Until next time of course.
Hi, if you go to "www.galaxytabhacks.com" you will find the solution, there is an upgrade to superuser.
