cannot de-freeze after root in titanium backup - Galaxy Tab 7.7 General

after i root my 7. 7 i can freeze bloatware but cannot defreeze it
do you found same problem?
Sent from my GT-P6800 using xda premium

I will give it a try. Which bloatware you cannot de-freeze?

Same issue on the Note. Try the "Power Defrost" from the newest Titanium update.

lets try yahoo finance, social hub
in fact, i cannot de-freeze any frozen app.

I contacted the developer about this problem. Very responsive person and he suggested I try a few things. The only way to defrost an app is to use the "Power Defrost" option in the batch list. But this will defrost all frozen apps. So you will have to freeze any unwanted apps again.

I tried with Social hub, only power defrost could do the job.
These are System apps, that might be the reason.

About app updates...

I did a factory reset on my phone and restored all my apps through titanium backup. However, when I go to downloads in the marketi don't ee my installed apps listed.having said that, do you guys know if updates will be affected? Are they based on the apps installed or the apps listed under downloads in the market? Thanks in advance!
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Try market doctor in titanium backup. It can be accessed by pressing the menu button on paid version. Not sure about free version.

I personally use atrackdog for my updates as not all my apps show up in the market due to the same ordeal.
Sent from my Rooted Samsung Vibrant using XDA App
If you redownload it will fix the market link or like mentioned before you can get the donate version of Titanium Backup.
Its no big deal either way.
It shows up now... Though I may have to check the download tab myself for updates which really isn't a big deal. I'll try the suggestions you guys have me if needed in the future again. Thanks : )

Stock Social Networking App question

I was planning on removing the app "Social Networking" bc I use Tweetdeck. However, I was wondering if it messes up the "Messaging" app since Social Networking seems to be tied into it. Please help!
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I am also curious about this. I'm not sure but it seems that the social networking app is always using my gps and it drives me crazy. I could leave the gps on with my droid but now since having a dx I have to manually turn it off or it constantly is on sucking my battery dry.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Well, I just pulled the trigger last night and uninstalled it. It seems to be okay thusfar. Still, if you or anyone else here's of complications this may cause, please let me know. Thanks! (btw, I just installed Root Explorer last night and I've decided from here on out that I'm going to rename files now instead of uninstalling them).
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I never used the Social Networking app either so I just froze it with Titanium as well as the stock Messaging app since I use Handcent. No problems so far since they're just system applications that can be replaced with third party apps.
I thought that if you froze the stock messaging app that your mms messages wouldn't work...
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
It wasn't the stock messaging app that I uninstalled. It was the Social Networking app.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I froze both and everything seems to work just fine. Haven't tried mms yet though so I'll have to get back to you on that one.

Contacts force closing

Im having a serious problem. Anytime I try to add to or create a new contact, it force closes. I can't in any way edit any contact. The process is com.motorola.contacts. I am on stock 2.3 rooted only. I had previously frozen all the social and yahoo authenticators and since had no adverse affects, went ahead and uninstalled them all. However this was about a week ago, but this problem with contacts began this past weekend. Im at a loss. I need to get this working again. Im very uncomfortable with unlocking my bootloader to reflash as I don't understand the terminology you pros use and afraid to ask for fear of being called stupid (again) by some pros. Any help? And please if you feel the need to make me feel like a complete moron, please bite your tongue. Thank you.

what all did you delete???? that could very well be your problem. i know on my galaxy tab 7 i deleted the email app and my cam force closed every time and would not work, put the app back and all was fixed.
Yes, probably your contacts get fc 'cause you deleted the yahoo authentication, and I think the contacts (if some of your contacts have a yahoo account) use this authentication, so if the contact app doesn't find the authentication app this fc.
And probably if you deleted others sys apps linked with the contact app, you'll still having fc.
So, what apps did you delete?
Anyway you can try install the app(s) again with rootexplorer

The apps I deleted were all the authentication ones for facebook twitter and yahoo. However, I don't save any email addresses in my contacts. Only phone numbers. How would I go about finding the backup I have of those apps with tibu thru root explorer?

I suggest to freeze apps and don't uninstall them (unless you are 100% certain it's safe to delete).
I had the same problem as you, but in my case I just had frozen the authentication apps, which after I un-froze them, Contacts worked again.
Maybe a ROM reflash is what you need?

I was thinking that too. How do I go about doing that without unlocking my bootloader and voiding my warranty. Im tech savvy, but not enough to be able to hide the unlocked if I need warranty service. Any help is so appreciated.

Most likely its because you installed the leaked Google+ app. Uninstall and your problem is solved.

I had the same problem when I freeze all the authentication apks.
The Solution: Un-frozen them.
If you have uninstalled them, you should get the apks and install them.
P.S. Sorry for my bad english >_>

You can try this 2 ways:
1. With root explorer go to: system/app then look for the apps you deleted, tap and reinstall them.
2. Any way can't reinstall the apps, you may try a factory reset: setting/privacy/factory data reset (using this way all your data will be erased)

I installed the afaod enhanced email and a couple games. It had to do with the autho apps I uninstalled. I reflashed my entire rom last night and everything is normal again. Thank you for all your help. Lesson learned. Don't uninstall any system apps!

Can I uninstall or disable the Play magazines and Play Books apps without problems?

I want these two apps out of my app drawer, so I want to make sure I can uninstall without issues.
Thanks

Yes, it is safe to disable or freeze them.
Delete the trash
Yes, I've deleted both on mine with no issue at all.

I thought you could only "disable" them
How did you manage to delete them?
I use Titanium Backup Pro. But keep in mind that you will not gain any storage by deleting system apps so I freeze most of the one's I don't want.

Jus delete them... you can get them back from the play store...
I can not remove the Play Magazines by any means. I deleted a file magazines.apk from the system/app by Root Explorer and then rebooted, but the program continues to run. How to get rid of this sticky muck?
Use Titanium backup to uninstall it. You'll Find it under the system files filter.

Duplicate apps

Hey guys. Is this normal for me to have multiple apps?
Sent from my SGH-I337M using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I haven't seen that before. But they are different versions so it's possible. I'd freeze the older version and see if you run into problems
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
that is *kind-of* normal.
All pre-installed apps are installed in "system/apps" folder and cannot be removed unless rooted. Then all updates are stored in the "data/apps" folder along with all user installed apps. This is done so normal users "not-rooted" can delete all their installed apps and updates to get back "stock".
Most apps that list your installed apps, like titanium backup, or the "system settings > applications" normally take this into account and only show you one version. What-ever crap program you took a screenshot of, obviously does not take that into account and is confusing you. I see "safe2remove" beside many of the items in that screenshot, I do not recogize that application you are using. Just some garbage app as far as I am concerned now.
do not freeze either version
I'm looking at system cleanup
Sent from my SGH-I337M using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can delete the older version, but you have to remove the app manually or you'll need to reinstall. Look at the YouTube app in the attached pics. Also, system cleanup is a great app.
