Bug fix update coming - not ICS - Atrix 4G General

Not looking good for ICS...
http://briefmobile.com/motorola-atrix-4g-update-4-5-141-coming-february-7th-its-not-android-4-0

We have CM9 on its way, and lot of mods with ICS stuffs on it, why still wait for ICS from Motorola...
Enjoy the Custom mods....

For now at least, those of us using the webtop are stuck with blur based roms, which makes the idea of an official ICS very appealing.

For now only razr is beeing worked, after all omap 44xx devices get ICS, since are easier to port, "We will provide ICS to other devices."

Who cares about ICS Motorola update. We need a kernel update. Any news about that??

Acerbix made a OC kernel for CM9. You can find in his CM9 Kang thread

Hmmmm.... A noob question real quick:
Does this mean that we'll see stable custom clean ICS ROMs (meaning without TW and without the SPen) shortly or do we still need to wait for Samsung's official ICS release for drivers and stuff?
AOSP issues should be easier to resolve if nit completely fixed

Don't think it will be quicker
The kernel is not open source and the kernel is what controls the drivers so we will still be waiting for the galaxy note kernel source
However hopefully the note ics will be based on this build
Maybe this is what samsung was waiting for

The kernel IS open source, and the GPL compels them to release the source code. However this doesn't need to be until the upgrade is officially released, expected sometime in Q2

Miui for galaxy s3!

the china miui have been confirmed that miui for our galaxy s3 will be released on friday for close beta team and then after one week bug tracking period,it will be public beta released d..hehe
ps:however, its based on official samsung rom,im still hoping someone could port it on CM9 based
Why port to CM9 base? I actually tried to do this, I couldn't get past the boot screen. I followed a guide on how to port miuiv4.
I believe the problem lies with you needing an existing miuiv4 to port, and the only similar device is the S2, but that rom is 4.0.3, and CM9 is 4.0.4. At least that's why I think it wasn't working. Gave up pretty fast.

Please do. The beta release does not feel snappy like cm7 based miui, also miui v4 themes don't theme all intended areas ie dialler and sms due to samsung base.

[REQUEST] Stock Rooted Deodexed for P3100

Hi All,
Ok, first of all i know P3100 already got CM9 support and i know the rom is cool , already got taste of CyanogenMod on my LG P990 & HTC Desire...
But since P3100 already got android 4.0.4 updates, would be great if we have some custom roms based on existing 4.0.4 stock firmwares...
Sorry to ask, is that mean that the current CM9 based on 4.0.3 not 4.0.4? is there any compability issues like camera or something or is it work 100% fine?
CM9 is indeed android 4.0.4 ...
so far everything is working fine in CM9, even faster & smoother than stock rom, just some random bugs some user experienced like buggy video play, you'll find more info in their discussion thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1727420 ...
it is just p3100 already got updated stock android 4.0.4 as well, so i think i want to stay in samsung stock firmware, yeah i know its slower than CM9 but stock firmware is much more stable(at least for me)... for that i would greatly appreciate if some generous devs upload a deodexed or even tweaked+deodexed stock samsung firmware based...
I just ordered the GT-3100 model, I should be seeing it, this week... with that being said.. are there any OC stock roms available?

so far no stock firmware based custom rom or even stock based custom kernel available for GT-P3100
i might be wrong but the only custom rom support for GT-P3100 is CM9 and custom kernel is for CM9 as well http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1735258

codeworkx have done a great job to get GT-P31XX & P51XX CM9 support, thanks to him ... everything is working almost seamlessly and it's like you're owning a Nexus device with CM9 supports, it's just matter of time this device will get official buildbot CM9 Nightly status

[DISCUSSION] Android 2.3.5 for Stock: Better?

Lukenda has claimed at least twice that this particular version of Gingerbread (2.3.5) runs better on stock kernel... His opinion.
So, come on Lukenda, tell us more.
Anyone who has toyed with this version is more than welcomed to chime in.
One particular thing worth noticing is that no stable release of CyanogenMod is based around 2.3.5.
MiniCM7 2.0.7 is based on 2.3.5 and it's stable
yes i did and i based it on a long time of using them.
there is a stable 2.3.5 rease by nAa
,there are few minor bugs but i dont mind them.
try to use minicm7 2.0.7 and some 2.3.7
rom such as gdx.
make a comparison between those two and test battery speed in apps such as YouTube and internet browsers.
All games I have been able on 7 rom were playable on .5 rom.
Please test for your self and report.

Let me repeat myself. there's no stable release of CyanogenMod based around 2.3.5: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/CyanogenMod_7_Changelog
Stable release, as in final release, as opposed to a nightly release or a release candidate.

*Sigh*
I was really hoping for something better than that. Your claim that the 2.3.5 is indeed better is totally unfounded.
The only thing you are left with after that kind of testing is that for your use MiniCM is better than other ROMs and the hypothesis that it might be because of the android version.
You could have at the very least get your hands on GingerDX v015 to test your claim.
And if anyone is interested in actual testing, a proper way would be to compare GingerDX v015 to GingerDX v016.
To take it a step further comparing XGin 5.4 to XGin 6.0 and kuyaDROID v3.2.175 to v.4.3.233 (which I think was the next available release) would be needed.
I still have the original nAa's GB (2.3.5 for stock kernel) rom, so if anybody is interested in testing that rom, i'll ask nAa if i could reupload it on MF if nobody finds a working link .

Which rom should I use

Well I have a r800x unlocked BL nd was wondering what exactly is the best rom/kernel combination for my play
I'm not big on the gaming functionality but do want camera and wifi Bluetooth stuff like that and I was also wanting a JB rom bad but ICS will do if the JB is too unstable
So yea XDA tell me what your choices are
Sent from my GBTweaked v7.1 r800x using Tapatalk 2
To be honest my first choice would be to tell you to check out miui-australia(its got its own kernel & its ics)... But only because its got loads of space...very stable, but aokp is good also (With wedgess lupus cm9 based kernel)...thats just me tho... As for jb I personally haven't tested any... But here good things about cj's slimbean port...
Sent from my R800x
Check out Slimbean with Turbo kernel.
If you want something a little more stable, try regular CM9 or MIUI Australia.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire
I had to revert to FXP CM9 with the Adreno ICS driver, the driver didn't work with SlimBean for me. Still, stock GB 2.3.4 is fastest for gaming.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I would suggest the P.A.C.man ROM. It's got bugs, but I never thought my play would be this smooth. With 4.1.2, my phone is relevant again!
I never really liked miui as I flashed it to my brothers Droid x and it was to ummm.....IOS'ee for me love the look of aosp the best

Pretty smooth and no problems at all untill now.
I would like to try a Jelly Bean based rom, tough. Haven't decided witch one...

This thread was obviously missed when it was started but best ROM threads shouldn't be posted as there is no such thing as "best ROM", it's all down to what suits you best so try them yourself and find what's best for you.
Thanks
