(MOD)EVO-Tainment Gaming System - EVO 4G General

Heres about the craziest but cool idea i've seen for the EVO yet, check out this device,if you love to game, this is for you,its called "EVO-Tainment".....
If you liked the idea of the EVO-Tainment gaming system but thought the execution was rather unwieldy, then check out G&E reader bradleyw801's more streamlined version of the handheld rig that mates an HTC EVO with some Wii controllers.Hes named it the EVOcade and if you want to make one for yourself, bradleyw801 has kindly put together a quick tutorial and a video to show and tell you how to do it.
Here's what you need to make your own EVOcade rig:
•Rooted HTC EVO 4G with wiimote app
•Wii Remote
•Wii Classic Controller Pro
•Nyko Classic Controller Grip - only the clear plastic piece is used since the Pro controller already has grips
•Windshield mount for EVO - no universal solution for this, but here's a low-profile option to consider
•Super Glue
•Something to use as a spacer - bradleyw801 bought a roll of magnetic strip, cut/shaped it with a razor knife, and used it to fill gaps and provide more contact for the Super Glue
Heres a "How To Video"

Proving that HTC EVO 4G owners are a creative, resourceful, and somewhat wacky bunch, a fellow by the name of Jack Malone has gone ahead and created this crazy-looking thing he calls the EVO-Tainment.
WFB Gadgets has plans to get an "injection molded plastic version of this system" made for all the EVO gamers out there who like to buy things off the shelf, but DIYers can replicate this Frankintendo (that's Frankenstein and Nintendo, by the way) creation out of a universal GPS mount, modified Wii racing wheel, Wii classic game controller, Wiimote, and some velcro by themselves. Since getting something like this mass-produced, even on a small scale, won't happen overnight, interested parties should feel free to take on the project and maybe see if they can get the EVO-Tainment to level up in the Design Worlds or something.
Video of some emulated Mario action below.

I bought this when it first came out. It was really a cool idea. I ended up changing out the holder because it was too big..
All in all i loved it, its still around here somewhere...

Sports (Running/ Jogging) holder/ armband for TyTn II?

Does anyone know of a armband strap with holder for the TyTn II? Like the ipod ones, to keep it secure while running?
I know it's probably not the best idea for a device like the Kaiser, but just a thought. I can't find them when searching on ebay.
Thanks
check out www.tunebelt.com
kaiser/tilt fits just fine.
Seems perfect, thanks. Looks like the iPod Video one would fit fine, but there might be room for movement. Was thinking that maybe the iPod Mini one would squeeze the kaiser in.
Would you happen to know which is best? My bet is on the iPod Video
In my opinion, it's better to use a small backpack to carry your Kaiser when running. Put some other soft stuff in there and it's safe from impacts and sweat . That way you can also carry your wallet, money, small towel, whatever. It'll not be that heavy as well.

That would be quite uncomfortable to carry around while running, atleast for me. I'm a cross country/track runner and even wearing a watch bothers me sometimes. Armbands are great for running and thats the way to go.
Anyone tried to send an email to tunebelt.com/ asking the best case fot Kaiser dimensions?
Hi,
Using the Arm Strap from Krusell:

allows use any of the Multidapt options.

^ I don't know if I feel comfortable gluing something to my baby.
hi
just got my tunebelt AB82.. seems they sell this "new" version AB82, cos AB8 is no longer available..
anyway, the product itself is okay but since it mainly supposed for iPod the connection openings don't fit exactly the Tytn2 connector output... so u have to do some modding and cut a lil'bit
except that, the product seems great... we'll see how it fits during long runs...

A500 being used as a scale

This has nothing to do with anything really, just a neat thing I saw today that I thought I'd share.
Today I went to a sub shop(Jersey Mikes) in my town, which I don't normally go to cause its on the other side of town, and as I was standing there ordering I noticed the meat slicer dude was weighing the meat on a USB scale of some sort which was plugged into an A500 covered in plastic wrap. Other than the momentary "oh cool, I got one of those" I didn't think too much about it until I sat down to eat. I mean, considering the price of the tablet, coupled with the price of the scale attachment, it would be cheaper to buy just a digital food service scale I would think. So I'm wondering why. Maybe they somehow use it for inventory control or something, I don't know. But anyway, I thought it was cool to see one of our tablets being used for more than just watching cats on Youtube or whatever.
rofl... that's extravagantly terrific.
Of course, now we'll need pictures.
You'll be suprised what companies have apps for android devies for interface.
Seen the scales as well, they conenct via wifi to update product weights.
They have DJ interfaces (get a good screen protector for yoru fingers don't drag).
Househould security control, theater control, and light control bundles with the APK's for 2.3, 3.1+, and 4.0
Canon has there app so yo ucan scan from pritners, and print right to printers from phones and tabs. (believe Kodak does as well).
Medical interfaces for variosu medical soft. Even Mcallister is releasing the Android 4.0 itnerface for Avimark for veterinary hospitals.
I thought you meant they use the A500 to scale, not plug in a usb scale attachment. I was wandering how, use the digitizer to sense weight? COOL!!!! They might have a reason for that because A500 can record the weights.

XTZ Essentials Software/Accessoires

Hello fellow xda-members,
I am currently waiting for the delivery of my SGP 311. Should be here by monday :fingers-crossed:.
I chose the XTZ because of its features, design and weight and last but not least price. It was a head to head race with the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014, which falls behind in design (touchwiz urgh), weight and pricing (180 bucks more), but has one feature, that I do find useful as a student: The S-pen.
I know that no third party stick can replace a fully integrated pen system like the s-pen, but I dont need the complete package. I am looking for a reliable and useful combination of accessoires both software and hardware, that will enhance the creative capabilities of the XTZ to some extent.
Please share your good/bad experiences with certain pieces of hard-/software.
I would need suggestions:
Case (w/ keyboard?)
Stylus
Bluetooth headset
Creative software for students
Thanks in advance,
Buster
Case: I'd say the Original Sony one. It is really expesive compared to third party ones, but every single of them had some kind of problem that turned me off. I use mine mostly for transport and at school, to protect. At home, I'm really careful, so I just remove it (it gets bulky and heavy-ish).
Stylus: Can't comment about that
Bluetooth Headset: Can't comment about that²
Apps for Stundents: I can recommend quite a few. I'm assuming you know most apps, but still giving some obvious recommendations.
Cal: It's a Beautiful Calendar app. I'm using it because 4.3 stock Calendar app is basically useless, as it force closes all the time (I'd probably fix it by doing a factory reset, but I'm too lazy for that now).
Calcu - The Ultimate Calculator: Quite feature-rich, beautifully designed calculator. The stock one is quite good too, not as feature rich, though.
CliffHanger: I'm constantly watching TV Series, and this is a great app to have notifications about new episodes and to keep track of which you have watched already.
ConvertIt (Pro): Great conversion app, lots of units (LOTS)
Google Drive: Great writing app, IF you have a internet connection the whole time. It is almost useless as a editing tool while offline.
Box.net: I'm not sure if the promo is still going on, but if it is, as a Xperia owner, you have 50 Gb of lifetime cloud storage.
Financious: Great, also beautifully designed, finances tracking app.
MX Player: Awesome video player. With a plugin, you can reproduce basically everything.
Office Suite (Pro): I personally don't like their editor, but the reader is quite good, specially PDF.
PackageBuddy (Pro): Great package tracking app.
Sony Sketch: Great simple drawing app... A stylus would make it more useful.
Sony Tasks: Not feature rich, but useful for simple things.
Timetable (by Gabriel Ittner): Well designed, highly customizable Timetable app.
Those are the ones I can recommend. Hope you enjoy your device. In any doubts, just let us know
Case = Poetic SlimLine
The case is pretty heavy, but very thin, magnet works very well and is one of the better cases available. Still the best case I've seen. If you are going to carry it in a bag near a wallet you might not want a magnet that strong though...
Sony MDR-10RBT with viper4android; pretty awesome!.
Case official sony one. Had a poetic slim and it damaged the LCD display; so I got a new tablet and sony case. Also bought the dock, it's worth it if you plan on maintaining waterproof long term. Also you should try to use the USB port as little as possible. Tabs are flimsy and damage easily, also the USB port is weak in that if used too often one of those days when you unplug it you may take the port along with you!
Poetic slim is a nice feel case but it doesn't bend as easily as the tablet itself. If you use a dock to charge as I did, I had to remove the tablet from the case daily and that means bending my display daily which eventually lead to dead pixels; the case also exerts why to much pressure on the table which makes rainbows swirls more likely to occur and damage if dropped. If you want to see for yourself insert the tablet into the case while the screen is on.
These quirks aside; it's an awesome tablet! And it's is built for the long haul. I love being able to wash it when it's dirty and curtesy of Aqua cam Z Pro, I have got some awesome pics from my last snorkel adventure in the ocean; probably won't do that again as the tablet doesn't float at all!

Question Looking beyond the basic table top 3D printers

There are a couple of things I am interested in and I am sure that means that it would require a different type of 3D printer for each need. When I mean this, there are table top 3D prints for what I would consider modeling or basic stuff and then there are 3D printers that use cement to 3D print homes now. Each is a 3D printer but for very different things.
If I were to make a list of things that I would love to 3D print, here they are.
1. Teeth, yes I said it and most modern dentist offices 3d scan your mouth and send files somewhere and replacement teeth are regularly printed. I want to to cut their overhead out and take the 3D scans and to it myself. All I care about for the dentist is paying the labor to have them installed. Why do you need to pay your dentist $15000 for implants you can 3D print yourself for $5, So what if they charge you $500 to install them, that is still cheaper than they were going to charge you.
2. Car body parts, for some of the older people here or car enthusiast back in the 1980's Pontiac made a car called the pontiac fiero. The Pontiac Fiero is a car where you could buy complete body kits and make it look like any car you wanted in your own driveway. So I am interested in being able to 3D print front and rear car bumpers, spoilers, front lips, trim pieces ,etc, etc, etc
3. Aluminum alloy wheels for your car. I want to be able to 3D print my own car wheels with spoke designs I want because I cannot find what I want from any of the companies already making car wheels.
4. Cell phone cases
5. Custom brackets for photography and videography equipment

Nintendo switch bag

Hello awesome people, I hope your day has been badass!
I've been playing Legend of Zelda and being a person who can't stay at home playing all day, I've had to take my game out with me a lot of times, I don't like playing with my joycons, I enjoy the pro controller experience! The problem is, I can't find a bag that's just right to fit everything into without squishing my precious. There are just the small cases or extra bulky large bags for home storage oh my!
I don't know if there are people like me who like to have everything in one place in a bag that looks reasonable.
What do you guys think? Do you also have this problem and know where I can find one or something?
I'd also like something recycled please muy importante, thank you!
You might think it's dumb, but a fanny pack. You can fit switch with joycons, pro controller, hdmi cable, power adaptor, usb c hub, batteries, and a flat pak for storing cartridges. Probs even another controller, definitely if you are using 8Bitdo lite 2's (rockin controllers BTW). You don't have to wear it as a fanny, just sling it over one shoulder and across your chest like a laptop bag. Throw a locator tag in it for security and you are good to go.
