These are not DEODEXED.
Credit for these goes to Elysian893 (Sorry I didn't know I couldn't remember for the life of me where i got them from)

I've been looking at the 10.1 system dump all day trying to find Motocast.
There is something called zumoservice in there and I figured that might be Motocast in disguise (I doubt it, but I'm hopeful). Unfortunately its odexed. Anyone know how to make this an apk file I can install?

Added a note above never thought about it till i seen your post.

Hopefully someone smart than I am will deodex them

I wonder if the 10.1 system dump is mine, it's exactly the same size as mine. I actually have even more than just a /system dump, I managed to get a /etc dump as well.

These both include everything in /system as far as i can tell.

Oooooh swiftkey x for tablets happens to be in there somewhere. Very cool.
Also the xyboard boot animation is actually kinda cool

Any chance we can get a generous smart person to deodex this system dump?
Pretty please?

Yeah, I just checked, it's definitely my system dump... Really don't appreciate it being sent all around, without any credit to me, especially with the paid apps in it. I didn't even realize those were there when I made the original .zip.

Did you copy the zip from /cache - and check it out?
A patch file (eg: market.p)? Or the full apk? Does it touch anything else? What build is listed in Settings > About ?
Just unrooted - reverted to pure stock - updated to 55D - rerooted - rebuilt my framework - yadda yadda - on Sunday. Hope I don't need to go through all that again..
how do copy it and view the files? it's downloaded, i just haven't installed it
i haven't rooted yet so i don't have all the options of root file explorer at the momment.
Just got this as well, not sure what it changed.

Install a File Manager if you dont already have one and check /cache.
Since you aren't rooted you may not be able to see it. Check anyway. If you can, use the file manager to copy it to your sdcard and please upload it for us.

That's what we'd like to know. If you're rooted, copy the .zip file from /cache to a handy location or your PC and explore inside the zip.
The update is first downloaded to /cache. A long name with HTK75D somewhere and ending in .zip.
Is there a /patch folder in the zip? All the files in that branch are patched by the updater. The files must be the latest stock version to get patched.
Is there a /system and/or /recovery folder in the zip? All the files in those branches get copied - and older ones on the Xoom are overwritten.
Drill down the /META-INF branch all the way. You'll find "updater-script". This is the command file which guides the whole update process - and tells us everything it is doing.
If there is a bootloader.bin file in the zip's root - we'll be flashed a new bootloader - which could break custom kernels and usually generates some apprehension (guilty until proven innocent).

I've never checked, but for those who aren't rooted, the filename might be logged. Could anyone who recently downloaded the update (but hasn't installed/rebooted yet) check LogCat to see if the filename is there? It should look something like this:
############.signed-tervigon-HTK75D-from-HTK55D.########
(pound signs represent hexadecimal digits)
If it's there, then this might help others manually download the update from the OTA site:
http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/motorola_tervigon/<update package filename>
(I think )
Thanks!
i got the update to my rooted 3g xoom w/ custom rom. i looked at the zip and it does indeed have boot stuffz. so im not going to install it. if anyone wants a copy my email is my username @ gmail. i dont have an upload site to send it to, email if you're interested.

S'all right. 55s a benign update - we're still not sure what it fixed (or broke). If you are still stock - though rooted - use Stachre's update method in the dev section. Then you'll be ready for 75.
yeah 55 was the update from a week ago, google is dropping another one on us.
Chipster0-I sent you an email, I'd be interested in taking a look if you wouldn't mind sending a copy my way.
damn, radi0chik has it, not Chipster0, just emailed the wrong person.
Would be awesome if someone could post up the new market and maps apks.

OK, weve got the direct link from the Google servers for FB09 thanks to NateWhite. Here it is:
http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/sprint_samsung_d700/11f71b652c51.update_SPH-D700_EL30_to_FC09.zip
This can be used to upgrade STOCK EL30 to STOCK FB09. You must be on stock recovery.

Unfortunately Sprint has said point blank there won't be an official ICS for it thanks to Touchwiz. The phone can run ICS just fine (IE the very snappy CM9b1 I'm running right now) but the ICS+Touchwiz combo is too heavy for it, according to them, and they aren't willing to put out an update to ICS without Touchwiz.
So if anyone did anything to your cereal.. it's them. (It irritates me more than a little bit too)
Maybe the modem has enhancements.

It is Samsung that said that and it is due to their BML partition. Thrte is no room for the ICS OS in there. That is why our DEVs put it on MTD. Samsung won't attempt a partition and file system change for all the Epic owners via OTA...that is tech support suicide.

So true about the hellish nightmare that would be sprint support if they did attempt to roll out an OTA MTD switch.. god my head hurts just thinking about it.. it's sad that Samsung has to be different and not use MTD like several other manufacturers.
ICS for epic touch stock with tw is in the ballpark of like 350 MB.

Ok,
I have a phone with the update notification. I loaded astro and went to /Cache and it was empty.
Also I did a search from the root for all .zip files and didn't find anything.
Does anyone know if I am doing something wrong?

Make sure you accept the notification to "Download" the update. Right after its done, it will again notify you if you would like to "Install" the update. DECLINE it, and try checking the cache again.

[Q] Changing my Verizon N3 Theme

I was just curious to know if I could take the Wi-Fi and LTE indicator from one theme and add it to another? I like the indicators from Bobcats theme, but am using Blak X for my theme and its just white bars.
I did look around for answers, and couldn't find anything that seemed to match what I was asking. Any help or direction would be appreciated, and clearly I am new to this, otherwise I wouldn't have wasted anyone's time if this was asked differently and answered.
Just some guidance is all I'm looking for.
Thanks-
Wow... nobody has answered yet? Yes, you can. They are simply png's in systemui, but it can only be used for personal uses

I've seen build prop edits that semi worked. So I should be able to pull the pngs from another system ui zip it up and flash?
Have you ever used 7zip? You will have to do it on a computer, but you don't even have to unzip your rom or decompile the systemui.apk. Right click on the zip, choose open archive with 7zip, then navigate within the folders to systemui and simply replace the pngs. You will need to make sure they are named exactly the same though
Team BlackOut... or Back Out
Btw, you could also use root explorer too, but I've never used it before so not sure how people go about doing it that way

Yeah, nobody answered lol.. till now. Thanks @Train88 and @neopolotin75 for your replies and guidance.
@Train88 I tried using root explorer early on and kinda fumbled stuff up in there. I did see using 7zip before and finally had the time to dl it to the pc.
@neopolotin75 I appreciate the offer, I just wanted the guidance. If you have the time, I'd appreciate it, if not no worries.
All of these themer's do so much already and produce such amazing work, I wanted to just know/learn how to do simple mods to my ROM without the burden of someone having to do it for me.
Thanks again :good:
Team BlackOut rocks BTW :good:

I'm interested in the launcher too (Shelf and icons seems nice), I'm willing to port it too but can't find OnePlus 2's framework-res.apk without which it's not possible to decompile the APK, and unfortunately downloading the whole ROM will be pretty heavy for my data plan. :/ It would be nice if anyone would upload the framework-res.apk file, then people can start porting other apps like camera etc. too!

If you're putting it in /system/media/bootanimation.zip and it still isn't working it might be a permissions problem. 644 is how it is supposed to be set.

Hey there buddy, I was reading this thread and it seems to be what I am sort of looking for. I have a XT1572 and have never updated the software as I liked the boot animation (sounds silly)
Anyhow, the phone seems to be having issues now and I really need to update the OS but want to retain the startup animation. I believe it is small world, the one that shows the globe with a plane flying over it etc.
Is this possible and if so how please.
