Where can I find an easy guide to flashing cutom roms for my note? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

I haven't flashed my note since I first got it so I have totally forgot the procedure, does anyone know a very SIMPLE guide I can use please? Thanks

Go into the Android Development section of the Galaxy Note forum and read the post on how to root. Then after you root find the rom you want to install and usually there are instructions on how to do so. You could also use the search button and type in "how to root"

Can't Un-Root

Hello all,
I have take my phone in for service and obviously I would like to un-root it. I used the revoltionary method and I follow all the instructions to un-root the best I can but I can disable the fast boot so that the PC36IMG.zip will be read and update accordingly. I am currently running the elite series III ROM in case that has anything to do with it. Anyone have the same issue or can shed some light on what I may have done wrong?
Thanks in advance

First Google search result.
I had an issue with recovery. I think I had to flash amon-ra after the stock rom to get s-on. Can't remember but something to do with the recovery...sorry I can't help more.
This should be in the Q&A section, not the development section, just saying...

[Q] Step by Step video of rooting

I have some experience rooting(evo 4g, nexus 4). I think that i have decided to use Casual root, for the apparent simplicity, to root my att s4. My question: is there a step by step video tutorial for windows 7? I see there are some drivers to download, but im not sure where they go. I downloaded them but after that im not sure what to do. Total newb here, but willing to learn and try.

This is what I have used on my Canadian Rogers S4 i337M via Windows 7 and it worked flawlessly with lots of comments as well within the thread, give it thorough read through and most of your questions should be answered within that thread.

Which of these would be easiest? Is there also a step by step somewhere or a video like the one just posted?

casual is about the easiest possible way to root your device. just follow the simple instructions. do not install any drivers. just plug the device in and start casual. the rest will take care of itself. after the process is complete, continue on to backing up before proceeding. check out this guide. cheers

How important is the baseband version?

Hey guys, I'm new to rooting (recently switched from iOS) and sort of the whole community. I want to root my i9300 but I want to be as cautious as possible. My question is does my baseband version matter when rooting my factory unlocked S3? I don't think it should but just as a precaution, I want to know everything there is to it. Btw, I have also attached a screen shot of the device info menu, and I was wondering if anybody could confirm that the rooting process go flawlessly without any worries on my device. Thanks.

Baseband is modem relative to local networks.
It is not firmware version and has no bearing on root.
Please read the faqs and guides first.

As above, you really need to read and understand before you take another step -otherwise you are likely to destroy your phone.
A good tip is to use CF Auto Root to obtain root, which has very little chance of breaking the phone if you follow the instructions exactly. Then backup your efs folder before you do ANYTHING else.
Im sorry for posting blindly. As a side question, would I need to back up the EFS folder if I dont want to flash any custom roms? I just want the cool root apps Thanks again

always backup efs

[Q] Step by step root guide for newbie?

I'm using a Canadian (Rogers) 1337M and I've never had any experience with rooting at all. The most I've done with non-stock stuff is using different launchers. Can anybody please help me with a step-by-step guide to rooting and installing with Cyanogenmod? This is probably the millionth post like this, but all the guides I've found just seem to confuse me
EDIT: I have a Mac, and I'm on 4.4.2
This is the best guide you're going to get

For the canadian s4 this is what you need. I used it too and it worked perfectly.

Hey Guys, New S5, need some help!

Hey all! I recently bought a Galaxy S5 through verizon. I was looking forward to getting root access and Applying custom ROMS and customizing my phone even more. Could you guys direct me to an easy-to-follow guide to help me achieve this? I've heard it isn't possible with the Verizon S5. If it isn't, could you suggest some apps to help me further customize my device without root? Thanks in advance everyone!!

We can root and install safestrap, load custom roms from our dev section, but we can not use custom recoveries like TWRP, Clockwork Mod, or flash any aosp roms because of a locked bootloader, (unless you have a developers edition S5 from Samsung.)
Read this How-To Guide.

I hate to be a pain in the ass noob, I really, truly do. But I've only ever rooted once, and it was a whole lot simpler than this. Could I possibly get 1 on 1 help from someone?
