Pretty sure it's Yamaha. Not sure where I remember reading this, but it's basically the same chipset as used in the Note, and that's a Yamaha.

[Q] ADK on GTab7.7

Hi all
I am working on an amazing product where we need to do some prototyping using a ~7" tab that supports the ADK and the Android Accessory Protocol. Unfortunately, manufacturers are really slow at answering questions like that, and some of their support crews simply don't know.
So, do any of you guys know whether or not the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 supports the ADK? Or should I look somewhere else? (where?)
Just a silent little bump, because I'd really like to know?

Galaxy Tab 7 as a phone?

Hey all,
I am considering purchasing the Samsung P6800 Galaxy Tab 7.7 Plus Android 3.2 WCDMA Tablet Phone w/7.7" Capacitive - Grey (16GB) to use as my primary cell device. I would be getting the European model, so whether or not I could use it for calls is not an issue. However, I am a bit concerned that carrying around such a bulky device and a bluetooth headset to boot would be a bit much. So the question is: Should I use it for calls? Has anyone tried this before? Does anyone who uses one of these on a regular basis have anything to say about its bulk?
Thanks!

Please post your questions in the right forum, you'll get the response you need. This forum is the Galaxy Tab 10.1, has nothing to do with the 7.
it can be as a phone, but it may be a little big. Sometimes it's not convenient.
*Chokes* $655?
*Wipes eyes* I hope I'm reading that incorrectly.

The speed of this tablet is amazing, I have yet to find any lag, I seen some people complain about Samsungs touchwiz as being slow and buggy, I found that out on my Galaxy S4G, but that is not a problem as I use Go Launcher Ex, a free launcher on the Android Market, and by far IMO the best launcher there is, so do not let touch which stop you from getting this tab.

Podssible Multi-Window Port from Note10.1?

Hi,
I made a port of multi-window from note10.1 using some files and apps from the Galaxy Tab 2 forum to my note5.3 and just want to share some idea. My thread is here where you can see some screenshots taken from my note5.3. I have feeling that samsung is working on a possible multiwindow interface for 7.x tablets not just the 10.+ ones and the key could just be some multiwindow files from system/etc/permissions and perhaps swap some files from note10.1 to the Galaxy Tab 2. I dont have a tablet so I cant test my idea but wanted to share hoping someone might make good use of it.

This is an outstanding idea good sir, do you say this is working on your Note? I have the galaxy tab 2.0 7" I love the idea you have, would expand on the excellent jelly bean video player (resizable window) and would be an indispensible addition to android in general I believe.
Could it work on any large screen droid?

I do not have a Galaxy Tablet so I can't test and explore if it would work on the your tablet but I believe porting the right files from Note10.1 or Note1 or Note2 would enable multiwindows on your device. It is definely working in my Note1 and if you visit my thread you can see some screenshots of what I am talking about. I think this is exclusive to samsung made phones and tablets only.
Multi window for the Tab 2 would be awesome. Are there new news for it?
can the same files be run on p3100 rooted 404 official ?
Okay nice I can try this in my tab but you need to tall me what to do?? Secondly will the cwm flash file will work on tab 2??

Looking For Tablet ROM With More Complete S-Pen Support

Hello. I have written an app that helps to improve the accuracy of the S-Pen. It works only on Note phones because Samsung has compiled some S-Pen device driver interfaces out of the tablet ROMs. It is not clear why they did this. I have asked Samsung but gotten no replies. I have confirmed that parts of the kernel code is commented out in the open source kernel code (and you can see that some of the interface files found on phones do not exist on the tablets). It seems that the tablets suffer from the same issues related to the S-Pen as do the phones and I have many people asking me to make my app work on their tablets. I cannot do so with the stock ROMs because of the missing interface files.
So I am wondering if there any non-stock ROMs in which the S-Pen is more fully supported. The missing files are located on my phone in /sys/class/sec/sec_epen/ and the two files I need are called epen_hand and epen_rotation. If anyone knows of any ROMs for the S-Pen equipped tablets that provide these interface files, I would appreciate knowing and may be able to direct some folks to using them.
Thanks
tab 7.7 did not come with s-pen... but Note 8.0 did come with one.

Oops. Sorry about being so ignorant. I thought they all did. Please ignore!
All the 7.7 needs is an S-Pen like stylus (ex. The Atmel Maxstylus MXT100) to be complete now that JB is finally out. I don't know why Atmel has not released this stylus. Our tab has their hardware thaat would allow the pen to work. They even demoed it on a 10.1 tab. You can find the video on their website. :banghead:

thanks anyways
the funny part is that i had a look at gsmarena webpage, looking on grand 2 specs and there it says that no support for MHL, which is the adapter name, and samsung support here claim that it is possible and the device support MHL so who is correct i can't really tell. all i know im confused.
the original samsung adapter here is sold around $30 and after spending already around the same amount for adapter that dont work, i wish someone can shed a light on this issue.
haha well what i think is that what ever happens samsung is ganna say yes we support this and that and that and if you ask about lollipop update they be like if an update is issued you will get notification haha well every body knows that so why cant you just tell whether lollipop is going to be launched for g2 or not so you cant 100% trust samsung so i will go with the gsmarena
