Order and chaos on Galaxy Note (N7000) - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

Hey guys,
So I finally got around to getting this mess sorted out with trying to get Order and Chaos working on my Galaxy Note and it runs great once you actually get 'around' the device checking nonsense.
I do actually own an Android Market and a Gameloft Store license for the game as well as have a subscription but unfortunately neither of these files will actually work due to the in-place device checking.
Unfortunately I cannot tell you where to download these files but the following are the two files you need:
- Order-and-Chaos-v1.0.8-approb.com.apk
- GloftMMHM-snapdragon-approb.com.rar
Once you have both of those files you need to copy the Order-and-Chaos-v1.0.8-approb.com.apk file to your phone via whatever method you usually use, then extract the GloftMMHM-snapdragon-approb.com.rar file to your computer, connect your phone to the computer via USB and copy the files you extracted to the following directory:
/Android/data/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftMMHM
Unfortunately this copy of Order and Chaos will start in non-English mode, you can change this simply by tapping the bottom right button which will open the "Settings" menu. From there, select the bottom option and tap the American flag.
Congratulations! You now have a working copy of Order and Chaos on your Galaxy Note.
I have created a forum thread on the gameloft forums pointing out that this is a major inconvenience and such complex work-arounds should not be necessary to use a game which works perfectly on a device of my choosing for a game I have a license for.
http://forum.gameloft.com/index.php/topic,43433.0.html
Hopefully this helps some of you folks trying to get this working!
Note: The same strategy as outlined above should still work and is reported to work but I have stopped bothering with this game. If a developer can't be bothered to implement a simple fix like this, in an MMORPG no less, they don't deserve my hard earned money. Also, if you can't manage to find the files using Google, keep looking! They're literally insanely easy to find if you just look for the filenames - use your noggin' - don't expect xda-developers to do *everything* for you

Good job!
Developers need to stop this nonsense.

O M G!
It works like a charm... : O Thank you very much for this, have been searching soo much for just THIS
Sweet Jesus im playin, bye

No problem! Yeah I was searching for this like crazy so decided to just bite the bullet and try various things until something worked!

Thanks! Been constantly searching since I got my Note on how to get this game to work. It's unfortunate that "piracy" is the only way to play it for now but hopefully gameloft opens their eyes and makes the proper changes. Like you, I also own two copies on my Android device and also own a copy for my now sold iPhone 4. I have paid for subscription and have not been able to play it since my note doesn't support it. Again thank you for your efforts and I'll see you online hehehe

Hi,
I have copied the rar contents to the correct path (I am sure because when I uninstall app, this folder is deleted)
but still I get the "your device is not compatible" error when I launch the game.
What is it that I am doing wrong ?

If you connect your Phone (With USB Debugging activated) On the Internal SD (where you have the android Folder, the exernal_Sd Folder etc.)
And there you should have a gameloft folder and you should delete the whole folder: )

there's just one gameloft folder on my Note:
\Android\data\com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftMMHM
what else can I do ?

I'd appreciate any help..

So you Delete This Folder and then you go back to the SD Root and search for a Gameloft Folder (Right where Android is)
\Gameloft\
If you have it... delete it.. if you dont have. Delete the other Folder, Restart Phone, Plugin Usb and copy the Data THEN
If its not working delete it again, Restart Phone, Copy Data back to phone and download the apk from the side where you downloaded the Files and Start the apk yourself then...
Hope it works out for you
Greets

Thanks!!
Thanks a million for the info Chris! Works like a charm

The way I got it working was....when I had my GS2 I backed it up with Titanium Backup and then restore it on Note...works flawless...since it won't appear on Market with Note.

Hi,
Thanks for getting us this amazing game!
I got both the required files and placed in the right path.
Been trying all the delete/restart/load and still can't get it to work on my Note...
Anything else need to be check?
-cheers

no matter what I do, my Note connects to internet and checks for files. Then the game says my device is not compatible.
any suggestions ?

any idea guys ?

i can buy pay time from market with that method?? , tx

I assume you guys are extracting the RAR file and placing the files in the path specified, right? If so, try downloading the files to see what the directory name created is, then replace the files in that folder with the files you downloaded in the RAR file and relaunch the game.
As for buying game time - no sadly that doesn't work but I'm afraid this was the best I could find and since I already had a month or so left it hasn't been a problem for me (yet.)

bluex problem

Hey guys,
I asked in the apps section about bluex. that I tried to use it to transfer files from my phone to a samsung behold and they told me to type this in the terminal:
mv /data/app/bluetoothFileshare.apk /data/app-private/
but when i did It says:
failed on '/data/app/bluetoothFileshare.apk' - No such file or directory
__________________
mv /data/app/com.alex.BluetoothFileshare.apk /data/app-private
this is case sensitive
enjoy
same thing
samething happened...
failed on '/data/app/com.alex.BluetoothFileshare.apk' - No such file or directory
does it matter that I have cyanogen v3.5.2 and my apps are on my sdcard?
isnt bluex automatically in the app-private folder?
so....
Is there something I have to do to get it to work with the samsung behold? Or does it just not work with that phone?
the behold would have to be rooted to receive files...i dont know if it works for just sending files
as far as i am aware the behold isnt even android powered so i dont know how you would expect it to work (in which case negate my last statement)
try this on the g1
cd /data/app/
ls (this will list all the files in that directory)
look for anything relating to bluetooth
mv /data/app/*filename.apk*/data/app-private/
hopefully with apps2sd it will all work out with the sym links
personally i dont use apps2sd so this could be the root of your troubles
instead of this code you could try a "root file browser"
and then im sure you would be able to cut and paste from one folder to another
out of curiosity, did u get bluex from a 3rd party source or the market? if it was the market i doubt there would be any problem (but where is the fun in that?)
good luck
oh, one little note...
if in the unlikely event something screws up n u need to reflash or anything else along those lines, please dont blame me
(im sure you wouldnt anyway, but just incase)
Gonna put my two cents in on this btw.
I'm trying to "pirate" this app (install it after getting a refund from the market. If I give up or succeed in "pirating the app", I'm going to rebuy it), for the sole reason I enjoy a challenge.
I believe that the app is infact not looking for whether a copy is in the app-private folder, but in the app folder.
Let me explain;
You install bluex from the market, it goes to app-private.
you give the application root permissions, and it checks to see whether there is a copy of it in the app folder. No copy, runs fine.
You install the app from an outside source. The install goes to the app folder. You copy the .apk to the app-private folder. The application looks for a copy of itself in the app folder, and OH NOES! it's there, and blocks all access to itself.
Is there anyway to adb an install to the app-private folder?
also, if the app locks itself, uninstall it, then *reinstall,* otherwise, even if you manage to succeed in installing the application and circumventing the security protection, you'll still be locked out of the application.
Bluex solution
this is how i did it - avoiding having to manually do anything
download version 1.1.2 here
rename it to com.alex.BluetoothFileshare.apk (case sensitive)
then stick it on your SD
then download SUFB (super user file browser) here
install this via watever method you normally do (personally i use ESTRONGS File Browser - free from the market)
open SUFB and navigate to /sdcard, find bluex and long press it and select copy and then navigate back to /data/app-private
press menu and select "mount /data RW" then paste bluex into app-private
press menu and select "mount /data R" to stop you screwing anything up by accident
reboot (not necessarily compulsory but it didnt work for me without it even tho bluex did appear in the dash thingie)
after reboot open bluex, enable bluetooth, enable server and enjoy
hope this helps
(the first time i did do this all in the terminal but was too lazy to type it after a couple of reflashes)
what i did find strange was that when doing a straight "mv ....." it worked without remounting RW but when using the file browser it wouldnt work without the remount
enjoy
i do encourage anyone who tries this to buy the app - i too did it for the challenge and then bought it (after my last reflash) (i was paranoid that after a reflash that i had schedualed that i would have to pay for it again). it is a great app and the developer deserves the £1.50
sorry, the links have been removed (for obvious reasons). google for droid appz and you will find a great site with some tips, tricks and appz
what phones does it work with?
does bluex only work with other g1's and android phones? or can you fileshare with blackberry's, iphones, etc.
iv not sent or received from any other phones (im in thailand now and none of my friends have bluetooth, poor them....) but it works great with my computer and the piece of crap dongle in both directions
so i dont see why it wouldnt work with other phones...its just and implimentation of the OBEX standard that is used for both infrared and bluetooth OBject EXchange
enjoy

well I've tried with my friend and girlfriends behold and it will pair but not connect to it. and I'm the only one of my friends that have a g1, they're all iphone junkies
as far as i am aware the iphone still cant send or receive via bluetooth just like the g1
i dont think it was introduced in the new firmware upgrade
try it with someone who uses a real phone, not a jumped-up mp3 player
i can pair with my computer but not connect unless its for file transfer
the g1 and iphone only really connect to handsfree kits etc...
try sending something to your computer or something like that, it should work
also, double check that you have server enabled
once you have sent or received from one device, you can set it to automatically accept from that device on all occasions
Bluex>Options>Remote devices options>*device*>automatically accept files
i've been able to send and recieve files from my other phones sony erricson's and random other phones on the bus etc
Root has nothing to do with sending and receiving bluetooth. the only reason you need root on android is because the profile(obex) needed to exchange files is not "built-in" to android. In order to support this profile, the developer probably programmed his app to change read-only files, and that would be why the g1 requires root for obex. phones that ACTUALLY support obex don't require root/superuser/administrative privledges. So in other words, you don't need root for obex unless you're using android.
You guys shouldnt be openly discussing pirating applications. Thats not nice, and you are posting on a DEVELOPER forum. What's wrong with you guys?

im well aware that phones that already support OBEX dont require root. i hadnt heard of the samsung he was talking about and thought it may have been a soon-to-be android phone...it was released under a different name here and i had interpreted the question as being that the phone ran (or was going to run) android. a simple mistake anyone could make when google is acting up (probably more the ISP than google but you get the point)
as for openly discussing pirated apps, i dont see a problem with it personally as i do things on a try-before-you-buy basis....i know it was stupid posting the links and i apologized for that and the links were removed

Angry Birds Rio wont install ?

Im running CM 6.1.1 and for the life of me I cannot get it to install on my G2 .

the long hard way . All I get is "Application Not Installed" errors . Can anyone
help ? Thanks !

First, hook your phone to a computer with a usb cable - need to have your phone in "disk drive" mode. Open the new drive that will appear on your computer (which, of course, is actually your phone's sd card).
Next, locate the file folders named ".android_secure" (it should be near the top of the listings).
Click on and open up this ". android_secure " folder and look for a file named "smdl2tmp1.asec"
Delete it! Destroy it! Kick it out of your life! It's what is causing the problems!
Unplug your phone. Phone will say something like "preparing sd card." It could take a bit but after that you can update all the apps including those on your sd card and angry birds and download Rio hassle free.
As there a a whole bunch of threads on this issue, please pass the fix on.

If you tried reinstalling it and it doesn't work still...
1. Try a stock reflash and try again.
2. If it still doesn't work, mail the developer and ask them.
how can do stock reflash

I don't think it's a firmware related issue.
Did you download it from the store or some other sources?
If you got it from other sources, make sure your copied the obb file correctly to the obb directory.
Also please do have an active internet connection as games like this tend to check if the files you have are complete, at least once.

Anyways, did you do these?:

3. Launch game with internet connection.

[MOD] [VR] [Dev] Samsung Gear VR on other devices.

Hey guys so last time I used it a few months ago this was how I got Samsung Gear VR working on my LG V20 rom. For those DEVs that would like to add this feature I thought we could all work together to get this on every device that is running 1440p screen just for quality reasons.
This is for devs only not a flash able zip.
Extract the contents and just copy and paste the info in the build prop.

Possible to slim it down (Apps)? To include 174Mb in the System is a bit much for that few Users who'd own a Gear VR. Maybe I'll be better if You provide it as flashable Zip. If You need help with that i could be Your Man!
BR and cool stuff btw!
De-odexing could be also a good Step besides pulling it from the System Image instead of dumping it from a running System. But just a suggestion....
Im about to compress those apps to see how much i can save but i need to finish installing a new os. If you want to make a zipable you can ill post it up and can givw u access to the google drive.
I know this is probably a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway:
Where do you copy the contents of the app-private folder
Are there any other instructions? I remember I had to get this to work on a rooted samsung and I thought there was suppose to be some service running for the gear vr software to kick off when the device is connected.

I will make a lovely flashable AROMA based ZIP this Weekend. I can also improve the Size a bit by using my optimized Compression methods. Think the Size isn't that important as standalone ZIP, but some Users have slow connections and bad Data Plans...
I don't own the Gear VR but things like that have to be supported! It's a step in the right direction (Android shouldn't be used to include OEM exclusive Features dear Samsung! Share them!)
BR
So I understand you copy it to app-private in data, but that doesnt give you the software. Does anyone. Have a zip with the required apks needed to actually launch the vr setup wizard?

200MB is not that much gain when most roms will have 500MB+ removed and the system portion would be un changed so free space would be sitting there to be taken up.

Oh so this has to be done before you even flash your phone, you can't add Gear VR functionality after your phone has already been flashed. Sorry I misunderstood.
It would be cool if this was a separate package that could be added to an existing phone with root access.
My way was just how to add ot to a none flashed rom if you throw these files in your system clear cache is should work also if you set the permissions correct

Would you still copy it to app-private in that situation? I tried that and it wiped the folders from the app-private, but did not install any of the applications.

this is great news been trying to get this working on my S7 active ! tried boot.prop changes but no different
as its just software stopping it working, as hardware is pretty much identical ..
did try from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/mobile-vr/gear-vr/port-gear-vr-software-to-android-device-t3540402
but couldnt get it to copy properly, so wouldnt work ..
once rooted, is it just a case of coping over, can this be done via say ES.Explorer ? ..
does this then enable the auto detection when pluging in ? and the touch pad and buttons too ? ..
This looks super interesting. I've got a V20 running AOSP & I'm going to play around with it after work

If you just copy and paste the folders inside the priv app folder think there's like 7 it will be just fine if you copy the priv app folder it might not merge and just replace. I had to factory reset for the apps to get all the correct permissions not sure why.

6055U Root method found

Hello all, I found a method to Root and get a custom recovery on our cricket variant, no donations required! You need to find a copy of sugar qct with a username and password, I don't remember exactly where I found it but it shouldn't be too difficult to find. Then you need to let it update to the latest build, which includes the programmer for our phone. If you don't see 6055u in the list it's not up to date. From there, Hook up your phone (may need to manually put it in download mode. Press upgrade and then navigate to the install directory, look in /bin and find where it downloads all the mbm files. Replace the one that starts with an r with the TWRP recovery for 6055. You may have to overwrite it multiple times during the process. If you did it correctly you will be able to boot into TWRP, if not try again. If you don't close sugar I believe it won't overwrite the firmware files, but I haven't messed with it much. I will try to write a tool to make it easier when I have the time but I'm pretty busy. Feel free to pm me with any questions and I will help the best I can.

Did a Google search for "sugar qct" and I see a couple of million hits for "The Sugar Act"...
Tried Root Genius, and it, of course doesn't work...
If you happen to find a link for the app or method you stated, I would be eternally grateful... My lovely wife and I upgraded our phones to the Cricket 6055U, and, since, while not an Android developer, per se, can find my way around the device without being scared off...
So, with due respect, I'd ask if you have the app or name correct?
Thanks, friend, and best respect.

Oops... was premature... found it and am giving it a try... I'll post my results after I give it a shot...

This should help with setting up sugar. The only difference here is to update it and you also need a username and password that I don't have on me at the moment. It will be a few hours until I get home but I will update asap.
Edit: nevermind lol, good luck friend. You may need a decent battery percentage as well

OK... apparently I'm an idiot... Running Windows 10 Pro, and the installer says it's going to install to an appropriate folder on C:\... yet, trying to find it, it really is weird.... I'm going to try on a VMWare Win 7 virtual PC, and see if I'm able to find it there, and move it to my actual C: drive...
If it works, I'll be grateful for your contribution and praise you to the highest heaven!

Can't seem to get the beast to work...
If you would be so kind, would there be any way you'd be able to write up a concise step-by-step thing, if you've made it work... I've got the .chm file open on my desktop, and have spent a few hours trying to make it work to no avail.
Again, if it worked for you, your process would be welcome.

My point is that the site recommended seems to insist on Lollipop on the small beast... and there doesn't seem to be a recommendation for the .bin files, and, when installing on Win 10, it seems to install the Sugar app into some directory on my C: drive that is really not that accessible... Did it using a VMWare Win 7 32-bit virtual, and was able to access the directory, copy and paste to my regular C: drive (old Windows geek since Win 3.11... and DOS 3), and it seemed to run... (of course, running as Administrator), but it really doesn't seem to work for me... Again, I freely admit that I'm likely not doing something right, but even after some research and the included .chm file, I seem to be missing something.
Again, and begging your indulgence for seeming like a noob or a rube, but if I'm not making it happen, I rather think that the tips would be lost on someone for whom this is their first Android device...
Kinda frustrating, as, even though I've been a tech-support guy and database developer for more than 30 years, this thing has me stymied...
I found it fascinating for the *#*# command, earlier, from another noble soul, and, obviously, I also found that the device as configured says, basically... "Don't give a damn... you can turn this sucker on, but as soon as you exit this menu, I'm gonna turn it off again."
Just a little frustrating, and it seems that most of the tips and tricks elsewhere seem to be thinking that new owners of the 6055U are running Lollipop.... aaarrrgggghhh....
If it needs Lollipop to work, and if there's a relatively painless way to downgrade, and then upgrade from a ROM, I'm good with that... the Idol 3 seemed to require that, and it worked well for me, with just an evening's work. This one? Cricket seems to have had a warped sense of humor about it... I seriously dig the device, and, since my Idol 3 broke, and my lovely wife's LG G-Stylo (which was a pain in the ass, and next-to-impossible to root, and then be just perpetually stuck at the logo screen with an unfixable boot loop, if one screwed it up, and just required sending the beast back to LG, as long as one took out Cricket's warranty plan... <sigh>), we took the plunge on this one...
Not much for which I require root, but, since I spent good money on some legit apps (and lucked into a few ... ahem... not legit apps that worked for me), these things require root... I know there's a way to do it, and the Sugar app seems promising, but, mildly autistic guy that I am (and 60 years old, with a memory that doesn't work as it used to), a slimmed-down step-by-step doc would be helpful... should some noble soul put such together...
Apparently, the root method has worked for at least one member here.... But this weird old Jewish hippie doesn't see the mental diagram....
Any help would be welcome, my friends and mishpocheh... ("dear family" --- been here enough years, albeit a relatively quiet member, that y'all might as well be family... )
Hey everyone, sorry about the confusion. I installed on Windows 10 pro with no issues. As far as the page I linked you can disregard everything but the app itself. The update that downloads is marshmallow, and I've had no issues overwriting the latest version. I may have gotten sugar from a different location though, as soon as I get a chance I will do a better write up with everything. A helpful way to find the install directory would be right click on the shortcut from the start menu and click find Target / open file location. If it brings you to the folder with the shortcuts do it again and you will have the install directory. The app should be in (install dir)/tool and the downloaded updates go in (install dir)/bin under a folder that only shows up once you start the process within sugar. I will try to compile the information into a more user friendly format tonight but I can't make any promises on that.
Also just to clarify, I didn't use any chm file
I'm wondering if you could upload your version you have on your pc. I just spent the last month in jail here in Orlando fighting a case and the only proof I've got is on my phone on a phone that I deleted my videos on. I really need the videos back too get a not guilty if I gotta pay for it it's cool but I'm out on bond and all the recover videos apps require root
I got this to work last night. Typed up some instructions but didn't get them posted. They're on my PC at home and I'm at work.
Basically use the copy of sugar in the download package in this thread and then start it and let it update https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-vodafone-prime-tab-7-t3548560
Those are the basic instructions too except we don't need to swap out bout and use the TWRP from deckersu thread.
Once flashed it'll automatically reboot. I found you had to make sure you caught this and booted into TWRP right away don't let the phone boot. Then transfer SuperSU in TWRP and flash.

FYI this root method wipes your phone so I don't know if this will help your situation or not.
In sugar there is an option to not wipe, it's under session settings or something to that effect

Wish I had noticed that!! Oh well, stoked to have root and it's good to start fresh. Got Xposed installed today and finally got that annoying charging light turned off. Working on getting wifi tetherng working. Then if I can figure out how to get the dialer to be friends with Google voice this phone will have all its annoyance fixed
Thanks so much for figuring this out and sharing!!

Thank you for finding this thread, it is the same one I found but I couldn't remember where it was the other day when I started this thread. Hopefully this will help the people who have been having issues, although I will admit a more painless method would be preferable. I'm currently working on modifying a dirtycow exploit to simply flash the recovery and reboot into twrp, if I get it to work I will zip it all up and post it here.

I got wifi tethering working I did a lot of things but I believe that did it was adding net.tethering.noprovisioning=true to my build.prop then I went into system/app and changed serviceentitlement.apk into serviceentitlement.oat using es file Explorer

Thanks for figuring this out!!! I'd been messing with it for a few days. The renaming the apk to .oat was the piece I was missing. That and a reboot got it working!!
