[Q] ViewComb or Cyanogen for Viewpad 10s? - Vega General

I just got my Viewpad 10s... so iam asking you guys what rom to take since i have no experience with the different roms.
i guess the best roms are the Cyanogen Rom and the Viewcomb one.
If there are more choices, let me know
regards

Hi viewcom vegacom cianogen only ##

There are quite some ROMs for this tablet out there, here is an order I believe is based on general popularity here on XDA:
- HoneyIce
- ViewComb (I took note you're on Viewpad 10s)
- VegaComb
- for other ROMs check the Development section here on XDA.
The bad thing is that CyanogenMod 7 (Gingerbread) was lastly updated on 2011-10-17 and CyanogenMod 9 (ICS) is still in alpha stage.
Also take note that I'm still on stock ROM, so you might wait for second hand opinion.

thanks for the answers, i guess i go with viewcomb then since it seems to be the most stable rom

New version of ViewCOMB is available in the main thread @XDA.

vegacomb is more friendly
i love it from the 1st sight
tq

[Q] Creating a custom ROM

Hello. I am interested in building my own ROM. I have some computer knowledge, but I want to know, what tools and files do I need for creating one. So maybe someone can guide me or point me to a tutorials. I basically just want to try some things.
Is there a way to brick my phone by using a custom ROM?
Also, what is android 2.3.5? Google's latest is Android 2.3.3 .
Android Latest stable release
Tablets: 3.2 (Honeycomb)
Phones: 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) / 25 July 2011; 38 days ago
Latest Android release is 2.3.5 for phones
good new, should be more like you.
Latest android for smartphones is 2.3.5.
Regarding advices to build a new rom, nothing better than to speak to those that already did and have the knowledge (stcokwell, DZO, FFranco, Knzo, etc)
Search the posts of each rom and speak with respective developers.
Good luck and I waiting for your rom to test it
I'm interested too, but it requires more knowledge about linux. Kernels and so on.
So i'm thinkin is better to build kernels, there is sources, there is websites with how to and so o.. rom is more complex.
I'm bringing this thread up now.
I am currently downloading CyanogenMod's source, because of what I've read android.git.kernel.org is down. My first idea was to do a proper scene port of the latest Android. But well, this has better documentation anyway. So, I haven't got the source yet to browse, but is there a way to make a general build and if I understand correctly, it creates me a system.img? How to make it flashable by recovery? And if it fails to start, can I still get to the recovery? And about kernel, this has to be modified too, right?
And for last, if anyone has a good Android source code browsing/modifying e-book/video/whatever, can I have it?
-e-
I found that CyanogenMod can automatically make a signed .zip and on normal Android AOSP I can make it with "make otapackage". Is that right?
Any good read?

[p1010] Compatiable Custom Rom for p1010

This is correct. CleanROM is the only "non-stock" ROM available for the 1010 and technically is not a "Custom" ROM. It is based upon a "Stock" Gingerbread firmware with some "bloat" removed and some theme's added. Also, Scott from Scottroms (the developer of CleanRom) I believe has sold his Galaxy Tab and will not be providing future updates.
Motafoca is indeed working on a CyanogenMod (CM) build for the P1010 but to my knowledge he is the ONLY developer doing so. Let's all wish him luck and support him in his journey because once he is successful it will open the door to other developers.
FYI, I have created an in-depth thread specifically for the GT-P1010 that can be viewed HERE.
I will be updating that thread and adding the details above to it. My hope is that we can all discuss our "forgotten" P1010's in that thread so as to be able to find all the information more easily.
I'm one of the testers of motafoca. And well, actually, we are trying to ort cyanogenmod 7.2, but the zip doesnt works, p1010 is a little complicate. And motafoca is working on 4 devices at same time. Soo its hard. I think that in march we finish with cyanogenmod 7.2 (note: the biggest problem is do a flashable rom of cyanogenmod, after that, is just pick the drivers of gingerbread from the source)
Thanks Guys for that information...

[Q] recommendation for stable! CM-Version?

Hallo everyone,
I'm more the end-user kind of guy and don't want to update my Defy every second week.. Thats why want to ask you, if someone can recommend me an actual and "stable" CM-Version for the Defy? I have my Defy since nearly 2 years and had so far CM7.2 and actually still CM10 (quarx.20130110).
Which CM-Version would you recommend for an update?
- CM10 (e.g.last Version 09.07. seems like it is not really developed anymore!?)
(- (CM10.1 - also not really in develoment anymore?))
- CM 10.2 (I don't need Bluetooth that often, but Im afraid, that it is still more buggy, than what I am looking for?!?)
Thank you very much!!
p.s.: this shall not be a 'what is the "best ROM" thread' (because I just read the prohibition of such thraeds.. ;o) )

you can try the mokee 4.2.2 version its very stable and fast
.. ahh OK, I didn't know the Mokee Versions before today and than I read within the thread: '[ROM][JB+][4.3] MokeeOS', that it is not really stable yet. But shame on me -I didn''t check if there was a earlier Version of MokeeOS.. (e.g. your mentioned 4.2.2). So you would recommend this before quarx CM10!?
Thanks!

[Q] Most stable build for XT925 (Vanquish)

Hi, I was a user of CM and I was looking for another ROM on XDA forums. I want to try PA, but it doesn't exists for RAZR HD. Then I've found PAC-MAN ROM. I think it's just an incredible ROM, but there's some bug (it's okay, because it's a nightly version).
So I'm asking you here, what is, in your opinion, the most stable build for Motorola RAZR HD (XT925/VanquishGSM)?
Thank's a lot, and mainly a lot of thank's to the developpers.
[SORRY for my BAD English]
UP please
Might want to mention the bugs you're having?
Seems you have official status, I would say that's the best build...?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2306365
I can't reply on the official thread because I haven't reach the 10 posts on the forum. There's some bugs on the 11/01 (force close when apply automatic luminosity, some apps don't show properly, then I have to enable Pie, ...), so that's why I'm asking other users, or developper, for the build they use (the most stable)
Up Please !
An idea for the most stable build? A release date for a stable version?
Our latest stable release is the Milestone for 4.2.2. Milestone for 4.3 will come soon.

OK thank's a lot ! Can't wait for it !

request Paranoid Android 3.99 (G2 LG D802)

Hello to all,
excuse me if I would write in this section, but the forum will not let me.
I'm a fan of modding, I have LG G2 D802. I believe that the paranoid android rom is my favorite.
I'm following the various releases, but right now I need to put a stable, which is why I try the rom stable precent. If I am not mistaken, is 3.99.
Online, this rom is pretty introvabile.Penso that a stable release should always be available in addition to the various nightly, as does CyanogenMod.
The links are all offline and the 3d was changed.
If any of you are in possession of this rom, or know of working links could post them?
thanks in advance.
up!
??? you want houston to release a stable build of paranoid android??
