looking for something that i forgot the name of. i think i saw it on here several months ago, around cm7 but before cm9 came out. i dont know if it was a theme or rom but what i remember was that in screenshots it was mostly white backgrounds, maybe just white and grey tones, and very, very minimal looking. i thought it was a rom but i cant seem to find anything like this anywhere. anyone know what i'm talking about?
edit: finally found it. it was miui http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1391072

Quick mention that if you ever wipe and need to reinstall you need to use webos doctor version 3.0 not the later ones.

Why isn't this thread updated anymore? This could still be a great resource for us touchpad users.

I agree but instead of asking "why" please tell me "what" needs to be updated.
If anyone is capable of more actively updating the 2nd post in this thread send me a PM. If I can find the "right person" I will give them ownership of the 2nd post since Mindsplit has not be as active lately. Aside from my official presence as a moderator I am a Touchpad owner and active in this forum. However I feel this thread could be better maintained by a member of the community that does not have the added responsibilities I carry.
In the meantime please post specific links to threads that should be included/updated and I will update accordingly. :good:

Latest Updates
The second post has now been updated...
Well it's been a sad week for the TouchPad user this week with OpenWebOS being released with no support for the TouchPad and now senior member OaT (should have been recognized developer in my opinion) has discontinued his development of his Light'n'Tasty series of rom's which is a shame as he had quite a considerable following. I wish him all the best in whatever he decides to do and hope one day he will consider giving the community a second chance, thanks for all your hard work OaT.

hey guys is there a way to get a launcher that is super smooth and not laggy in landscape because every rom is so far but I found out that if you long press the power button and select torch, it FC`s the navigation bar and the launcher is liquid smooth with zero lag until the status bar kicks back in, so does that mean it is the status bar hogging some memory ? I've tried this with Tlaunher and nova launcher with the sane reault

I found the following issues
1) Apn config file contains errrors. It include the wrong configuration setting for Mobifone. mnc values should be "01" rather than "00".
<apn carrier="Mobifone MMS" mcc="452" mnc="01" apn="m-i090" user="wap" password="wap" mmsc="http://203.162.21.114/mmsc" mmsproxy="203.162.21.114" mmsport="8000" type="mms" />
<apn carrier="Mobifone" mcc="452" mnc="01" apn="m-wap" user="mms" password="mms" type="default,supl" />

2) Weather (in Rom Control) doesn't change to Metric values, location not shown, day of week not shown. Hope that it will show even weather graphic soon.
As this Rom is so smooth, I will need to dig deeper to find problems. . Thank you for your great work.
Try ADW launcher EX, the best so far as per my user experience. Smooth and customizable

Thank you for a great work!
I have found a couple of issues that you may check out if yiealds to other tabs or if it is just to my tab.
1. The torch does not work and makes the launcher to halt, then the launcher restarts and restores itself (without the tab restarting).
2.. By charging the telephone in Shutdown mode with wall outlet cable, the battery animation runs. After some seconds the creen dims in two- thre steps until it turns off. Then the screen lits up fully again and cycles this procedure. Is it a bug or a feature? It might be best if the screen dims down to the stage off or to the level before off to charge faster and not to have a discodance when charging in the night
3. What does the file "Unicorn Porn" do? Strange name for a ROM-file ... Is it a jokeful name or a harmful file that has infected my tab (same logo as the Rom Control). Edit: I guess the file has something to do with boot animation that does not work on mine when toggle off not bootanimation. Maybe separate bootanimations have to be installed...
4. When using SetCPU, the voltage control in the performance menu under Rom Control does not show proper values. It is however only a minor case as they show properly in SetCPU.
Thanx again!

Awesome... been waiting for a ROM like this.. flashing it now.
flashed this on top of cm9 with only cache&dalvik wipe (just for fun ) and all is running good so far!!
edit: crashes when activating torch from the toggle menu.
[Q]Is there a way to hide the taskbar? would really love that option but couldn't find it anywhere...
But.... what is this?

Don't worry, it's not anything infectious. It is a really weird live wallpaper.

Shame about that. Really liked that lotion on honeycomb.
What does the "swagger" toggle do????
I pressed it but nothing happened ...lol
Holy Crap! My Tab is flying and ICS is awesome on this thing.... thank you so much. I'm also running AOKP on my GNex... so this is a nice little touch to now have them on both devices... thanks again, keep up the amazing work.
Love this ROM, it's fast!
I noticed the voltage settings in the rom menu don't work (instead used voltage control for it)

Do any of the CyanogenMod roms support these features? I don't think the nightlies do, but how about older versions like cm9, etc?

« ¿What is an AOSP based ROM?
First of all, AOSP stands for Android Open Source Project.
These ROMs offer you the "stock" Android experience without all the extras provided by the manufacturers like Samsung, HTC, etc. they are based directly on the source code from Android. They may be tweaked but are, in their entirety, the closest to a "pure Google experience".
More information here: http://source.android.com/
« ¿What is an AOKP based ROM?
First of all, AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project.
Well, AOKP is in essence AOSP, the main difference being all the added customization that AOSP ROMs lack. AOKP ROMs still maintain the "stock" Android experience, except with many possible customization options at your fingertips.
More information here: http://aokp.co/index.php/news
« ¿What is a MIUI based ROM?
Very basically, MIUI is the Chinese custom version of Android. The main difference that have from another ROM's is precisely their unique customization options.
The MIUI team hast their own launcher, widgets, apps, etc. If you really want a change from the Green/Gray of GB or the Black/Blue of ICS then take a look at MIUI ROMs.
More information here: http://en.miui.com/
« ¿What is CyanogenMod?
CyanogenMod it's a ROM pure based on AOSP, but have a main feature...it's a base too for many of the ROM's that you can see here, the Cyanogen Team works on innovative features that later are ported to different Devices / ROM's.
You can't see an independent category on this index but maybe you are receiving a touch of CM on the ROM that you have on your phone
More information here: http://www.cyanogenmod.com/
~~Thanks Exynoss for the details
Very nice work mate keep it up
Good start!
In the ROMs section pls add Sense based ROMs too apart from AOSP and AOKP.

PROBLEM OF "MOUNTING SD".
Probably someone will have this problem, which is due to intolerance on the part of your phone to the Linaro kernel (do not ask why) .....
To overcome this problem, just send the patch that lies beneath, which does nothing more than replace the Linaro kernel with Shendu kernel. I suggest who works Linaro kernel, to keep the latter which apparently turns out to be more efficient. Like all the patch, you must restart your phone into recovery, launch the update, after wipe cache and wipe Dalvik cache, and finally you can reboot.
As we have already said is just a change kernel to an older version, but we hope it is a temporary solution and in the meantime so everyone can enjoy our firmware
DOWNLOAD HERE the patch for mounting SD
On that video made by Cuvetto, you can see sd card mount is working with Linaro Kernel
DEFINITIVE SOLUTION TO IMPROVE THE AUDIO ON OUR PHONE.
The solution for the audio on our phone. The file was posted by Pika on XDA and is nothing more than the baseband of ICS, I confirm that the B927 version works perfectly in my rom, but others might work the B928. Try them both if the first does not go. This is the procedure:
1) Make a backup of your "amss.mbm" on your PC (you can find it with root explorer to the path .cust_backup / image)
2) Download the file "amss.mbn" and place it in your microSD
3) Start rootexplorer
4) Move the "amss.mbn" file in the root to change the permissions
5) Set the permissions of the file in this way: "rwxrwxrwx"
6) Move the file to the location. "Cust backup / image" and replace the existing
7) Reboot the phone.
Is important to set the permissions correctly, or the phone may not start. In the event that the phone would not boot and go in infinite loop, connect to the PC with the phone turned off, press both volume keys and power and you will access the pink screen. At that point you can try with another file or restore your previously saved file for getting your phone working. Who does the procedure, it takes only advantages in audio call, the unfortunate who does not work, do not ask why because it sconosce why. There are probably other terminals in this too.
The file can be found here:
BASEBAND B927
BASEBAND B928
HOW TO CHANGE FONT
Here you can find a collection of 4 fonts adapted for this rom. Download it and select what do you like more on your PC, to facilitate the task I put the preview of each set of characters. When you are sure what you like, put on your SD and flash through recovery.

It looks new in terms of framework... New lockscreen new look... Also I guess they summed up all their fixes in this ROM
3rd party camera, bluetooth, low and noisy call sound.Fixed? If not there is no need for another of the same.Personal opinion.
Except 3rd party camera all is fixed. All fixes I went to upload on the new CM10 v4 are here. Every of them. That JB is just working nice.

have you fixed the incall sound or are you using the workaround with ams file from 927?Cause call sound is so important,it is a phone after all! Bad call sound is THE dealbreaker!
I'm waiting also to test this rom ..
Maybe after testing, i can do something more ...
Of course jb needs more job and a good kernel ..
Anyway will see it better after flashing ...
Edit
Herna, after flashing, i will give you a better feedback and i will see better the camera problems and i hope to find a solution.

Hello all, I decided to make this thread to help people that are new and people who want to find the thread they are looking for without searching through pages and pages. Here I will be providing links to guides, recoveries, roms, kernels, and anything else that may be useful. If you have any questions, please post them below and we can all help and learn from each other. If I forgot anything, please let me know and I will take a look. I'll try my best to keep everything up to date, but if something is out of date, also let me know (like the name of a ROM or something).
1st post contains information, root guides, recoveries, and some misc tools
2nd post Contains all AOSP / CM based ROMs and Kernels
3rd post Contains all Stock Touchwiz Based ROMs and Kernels
If you are new and you want to ask a question THIS is the place to do it, but please remember to use search first (The question may already have been asked and answered) and always give useful information (If you can) like
1. Are you rooted?
2. Have you unlocked the bootloader?
3. What ROM are you on?
4. Which kernel are you on?
5. What were you doing just before the problem happened?
6. How can we recreate the problem?
7. What have you done so far to fix it?
8. Attach any logcats you have.
However, if its a problem with a ROM or Kernel, please ask in the development thread of your ROM.

Well put and organized, I wonder if there's even a possibility for custom kernels like Elementalx with touch to wake device.

I've been thinking of making my own kernel, but right now theres too many things going on (mainly school, tests, and homework). My plan right now is to do one in the summer but if I have some time before then, I'll slowly work on one
I'm sad to see that note 8 isn't much supportated...

Its different from person to person. Try them out and see for yourself. I'm currently not having any battery issues on any of the AOSP based ROMs. Make sure to do a backup first!

With so few custom ROMs, especially for the n5120, I think the OP is missing one very important tool: Xposed Framework.
Xposed Framework enables phone owners a huge amount of customizations via its module database. Furthermore, Xposed allows end users to become developers because you can develop modules from your very own device itself - no need for a PC with Eclipse of Android Studio. I've adapted rovo89's original guide so that you can develop modules and share them with other owners, here.

Nice =]
If there's a feature anyone wants on their n5120 I am happy to try and make it with Xposed. I mean, something from a custom rom that you wish was on the n5120.
I've been using Omni and it works really well with fantastic battery life. Between Omni, wi-fi being turned off when device is asleep, and Greenify, the device has been treating me very well. It sucks 0.2-0.5%/hour when idle, which means I don't have to worry about charging it during the periods of time where I'm not using it.
I needed the multi-window, so thus far I haven't ventured anywhere else.

@ryukiri
have you got any information about multiboot for our device?
BTW thanks for the nice work ever!
ROM descriptions?
I've been using Civ's FlexBeam ROM, which is a great upgrade from stock. Looking to go further off the path...
Any chance you could add some brief notes about the custom ROMs in order to distinguish them? I have looked at Damir Franc's feature comparison on Google Docs but it is a bit overwhelming. I am hoping for a view of the forest, not an inventory of the trees...
Also, there is a ROM for the Note 8 of CyanFox albeit not on this site. You might want to add it.
Thanks,
Greg

I don't think we have anything like that yet. I'm thinking about implementing dual boot into my DracoKernel in the future, but not sure when yet since this is an important year in high school (grades and tests and stuff) and I'm pretty busy. I'll probably look into it this summer if no one else does it before that.

Thats a good idea. However, I'd like to keep the OP as clean and simple as possible but I may add a very small section that provides general details of each ROM we have. To answer your question, take a look at Carbon. It's really stable and has a lot of features. Or if you need multi window, I recommend you to take a look at Omni. And if you want an All in One ROM with tons of features to customize to your own liking, wait till Sunday for PAC to release.
Hope that helps!
First, a big THANK YOU for your work on the ROMs - it is greatly appreciated. As much as others may benefit, though, don't let the school work suffer - just too important.
I saw the PAC ROM thread today. I do think it might have been better to start a new thread for 4.4; I read a page or two before I realized I was reading about 4.3. Kit Kat is quite a different beast in some ways.
I had been looking at Carbon, and it does appear more feature-filled and stable than others (except perhaps now with the PAC ROM). I'll probably watch these two closely for a while before leaping. And since it now appears official that Samsung will have a Kit Kat ROM for the N5110 I might hold off and see what Civato does with it.
One of the important questions is exactly what is lost by ditching TouchWiz, balanced against the new features with an open source ROM.
Lots to think about...
Oh, and no comment re: CyanFox?
