Mmmmm..........maybe or maybe not, you see I think the TW4 problems on the I9000 are related to ram and not the phone itself, we just have to wait and see how many ram does that galaxy have to see if it works on ours

Hello. I just got htis phone for $70.00 from ebay (original Korean one in Korean... not a chinese clon). It is unlocked and it looks brand new. How can root this phone? There is no sub forum for the M340s. I would also like to know if I can get ICS ir JB on it, Please help me!

well, u cant say its very close similarity to galaxy s because galaxy s got a 1ghz hummingbird processor from intrinsity, while m style got an old msm7227 OCed to 1ghz from qualcomm.which lacks tons of performance less than half of the performance of galaxy s. its not even a snapdragon s1.
i was going to buy this one but i saw the terrible specs(its not even armv7) and headed to second hand galaxy s lol

Well, after rooting my m340s I would like to install a custom rom. Which one? I have been looking for roms even in Korean forums (thanks to Google Translate) but I found no roms. Can anyone please help?

afaik no developer have m340s in their hands so currently there is no custom rom.
btw you can use some tweaks to make your phone faster. Use google to find some and apply it for your own desire.

Samsung release their own source codes and to modify Nexus S 2.3.4, it will take lot of effort.. Some Devs are trying to use HTC sense on SGS.. but its not easy

Hi,
I am new to Samsung phones so don't know a lot of the terminology. Can anyone please explain what a .pit file is and what a PDA file is?
I understand the android advices guide, but I do not understand why there is no ext4.pit file in the following link, if it is necessary for the upgrade procedure:

They won't work. Unless you want to rip the app out and move it to the i9100 version.

Since you're in Korea with a phone i'm assuming you know enough Korean to navigate and sign up for this site.

There's only been one firmware dump (the original) to my knowledge since this particular model isn't very popular. Use an insecure kernel to root first then flash the original kernel back when you've finished rooting.
You can find the original kernel on matpclub and an insecure kernel either here or on matpclub. Check the 'Development' subforum for more information.

Yea, i also need to know on how to root. I checked this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399, but seem like the info pertain to non-Korean SGS2. I am not sure what is K2/K7 is? Couldn't find that in the phone info menu.

You guys really need to learn how to navigate matpclub. All the required files are there. Just plug in your model number into the search bar and most likely there'll be stock firmwares, modified and stock kernels, among other things.
I've uploaded the files for the SHW-M250K here. Files for the M250K and M250L you can find on matpclub. I'll upload them somewhere when I get back home.

This will work for ALL versions:
Flash a rooting kernel; secure, insecure, results-in-a-boot-loop, it won't matter as long as you can get Superoneclick to successfully root your phone.
Once you've done that, flash the stock samsung kernel for your model of phone and the same firmware number. If your firmware doesn't have a separate kernel released then you can flash an older one, it'll work but i'm not sure what side-effects it'll have.
Keep in mind this is a very basic root only method. They've got other things going on at matpclub but I haven't gotten around to reading through it all yet.
BTW that kernel (same with all i9100 kernels) will most likely result in your phone going into a boot loop. To fix it you have to flash the kernel meant for your specific model; S, K or L.

My screen doesn't have the yellow tint defect. Check with black/grey picture in minimum & maximum brightness and the picture quality is same across the screen.

If you're not actually in Korea then having the Korean version isn't really a good idea. All it has over the EU version is T-DMB and NFC. And a free battery?
Having said that Australia's 3G networks are UMTS 850/900/2100 so i'm happy with just keeping mine, i'll have a slightly different awesome version to show off when I visit home.

Chances are it is not a fake but someone used this guide. That would explain the chinese part

Possibly not fake, cause the usual "give aways" (spelling errors, and the printing of characters) don't look bad.
On the other hand, it is probably not a trully stock phone, as it looks like on your last screenshot the clock look blue, which should not be in the stock version (could be wrong, but that's a feeling).
So if really it has been tampered with as suggested above this post, you could probably revert back to a true stock stuff
EDIT :
Although I'm not certain about the quality of the printing of the sticker and other molded parts.
I just opened mine and had a look, and it look like the mentions "SIM" and "Micro SD" are finer on mine, so is the printing on the sticker.
Maybe somebody else can check theirs

But seems this stock is very bad....Never again samsung phone
It's because of DVFS bug in all 5.0.1 builds.. You have 3 options to fix it;
1) Downgrade to Kitkat
2) Install a kernel (i'd prefer googy)
3) Wait for official 5.1.1 which is high probably gonna fix it.

I get 52800 on my Snapdragon, it's good enough, so I couldn't be bothered about what you believe is better, but at least now I know why the Note 4 forum has been so peaceful.

It's getting in bug randomly. Especially when phone is hot for long time etc.

i even tried custom kernel !! but the problem persist , my gpu score is even less that note 4 !! specially on antutu bentchmark ! i dono what the ** is doing samsung with such a powerfull phone ! ...

Are u using Lolipop too?
Maybe All be fixed in next version or I will downgrade to kit kat
