Was just about to post this... Should drop some of the USED prices now....

Got this in the mail and I was like :O
Pretty good deal if they can actually deliver on this once the rush begins.

Shipping time will take a while xD

Worth taking chance if someone doesn't mind delayed shipping possibility. WOW price

Haha yeah, read a lot about their shipping times. I ordered a really geeky t-shirt once from them (the LEDs-lighting-up-in-response-to-sound shirt) and they sent it well after I'd forgotten about it (must have been more than a month).

Yup.. so buying from them, price is good if you don't mind waiting a while.

Just a quick search on Google brought me to this.

Hours after buying a used one for $550... Whatever, these guys take an eternity to ship your purchase.

They are notorious for selling grey market electronics. If you buy, better pray you won't need warranty service because you won't get any from Samsung.

Just ordered it Time for the best meatloaf ever haha

I just called Samsung customer support 1800-726-7864 and asked if I buy phone that has international warranty and if I ever need warranty work done, will Samsung USA process it through or not. They said yes, but I would like to see if other people could call in if they have time and see what they hear. I don't know if I was wording it correctly or not, but the lady kept saying "yes all our phones have 1 year warranty". Got about 12 more hours to decide haha

I ordered a Nexus S a month or two ago and its working fine with no problems. The Nexus S came brand new like described with everything still wrapped. The one problem I had was their shipping was extremely slow. I had to email them, but they replied next day with tracking. If I had the money, I would get it.

Don't take their word for it. Call Samsung and ask.

Does anyone know what their return policy is? The link on the site just redirects to the main page. I want to know if something else comes up during the month that I wait for shipping if I can cancel or send it back when it arrives.

I will say.. no returns at all unless the product was defective. I had to deal with return for a Jawbone Icon I bought a while ago, not sure was it this site, but it was one of those deal site that ships from NY... It was defective, took a few days to RMA, otherwise, there should be no return for any product purchased from those sites from my experience.

The "BUY NOW" and "ADD TO CART" buttons for xoom are disappeared now.
But the accessories of xoom can still be purchased.
Maybe it's about the price ?

the price of xoom is disappeared, so maybe they are changing the price.
you can see at here: http://www.store.motorola.com/b/2657025011
I think he is speculating/hoping that the prices are in the process of being changed, rendering purchase through the website temporarily unailable.
Considering that this is the release day for the ipad 2, the timing would be appropriate, but a better ploy would have been a big discount this morning, just before release of the ipad, to undercut Apple's sales.
Like Digital Man said, I think its a response to the iPad 2 launch. We'll see how big the drop is. Here's to hoping to drops more than $100 lol.
It is really weird. Its the only product in the whole store that is like this. And its on every page.
case: $39.99
keyboard: $69.99
xoom: priceless

Probably out of stock, not a price drop. They would have too many returns and angry people this early in release.

Drop it $100 and offer a rebate for people who purchased it already. I mean $100 x the few people who are buying it (article on here, not me sayng) isn't a big deal. A $200 price drop would start moving this off the shelf.
Its probably sold out. Same thing happened when I tried to order a black gel case with the Xoom.

Out of stock? Hmm how few of these things did they make? lol there isn't exactly outlandish demand... And wouldn't it say 'out of stock'? Idk just being hopeful for a drop in price I guess.
I noticed the same thing on Amazon a few hours ago... the zoom and all accessories are listed, but no price on the tablet. No chance every place is out at the same time without engadget making a front page thing out of it. It's gonna be a price cut. 200 off would be perfect. (I can dream...)
Bestbuy.com is still showing a price but it says "in store only" as it has all along. strangely, when you search for in store availability, it shows all stores in range but says "in store only" instead of "in stock" or "out of stock"
25% off coupon and $100 off coupon could have depleated their stock on hand.

More speculation incoming. This comes along with the news stories today that sales of the Xoom are "underwhelming" and analysts predicting large production cut backs and/or price drops.
Might not be a price change they are preparing for. Perhaps they are editing the site to include two hardware options: 3G and the WiFi only version.
Just speculation, however note there have been claims that Staples will have the WiFi only version as early as April 1, which is only a few weeks away, so it makes since that it will appear on the Motorola site soon.
drop the price so I can get my price match..lol

Would they really stop allowing people to buy the 3G version to make an edit for the WiFi version over 2 weeks before putting up the WiFi version for actual sale? makes no sense. You don't have to stop purchase of the 3G version to put up a new product in the WiFi version.

How about them holding stock to install 4G in their current inventory? That along with Flash official next week would allow them to market it as the only "Flash 4G tablet". They would need to hold back inventory during the stock upgrade, but still sell off what stores already have. They new shipments would show 4G and Flash, which also could require packaging upgrades for marketing purposes.
Go onto the Motorola site now, and the Xoom isn't even listed. Something is up. I'm glad I bought at Best Buy and have Silver Rewards. 45 days to return gives me plenty of time to see if there are price drops or hardware changes.

On-contract, AT&T will probably get you the best speed. Off-contract? Probably StraightTalk. Look into T-Mobile and see if they have refarmed your area for the 1900MHz frequency (try airportal.de). It's likely though that they haven't, making StraightTalk your best bet for HSPA+ speed off-contract. Check the provider forums and coverage maps for your area.
According to the new egg listing for those note 2's they are 3g and not 4g.

The international Note 2 doesn't have LTE.
It's on my invoice also, the warranty that is. I contacted Newegg to confirm if the are extending the return policy on the phones. The 'confirmed' with there manager and was told that it is still a 15 day return unopened, which is there standard policy for unlocked cell phones. They would still allow for an exchange up to 1/31/13 and price match as well.
This is a 3g phone for AT&T...no LTE, which is fine with me. LTE will not be in my area for sometime, and I am always on wi-fi...
I pulled the trigger on the grey model tonight! I also promptly ordered the Samsung official hard/bumper case from the Samsung site, a screen protector and an AT&T Straight Talk micro sim.
Time to retire the Galaxy Nexus and the T-Mo prepaid. I'm honestly a little bit excited to get onto AT&T's network. Out west the T-Mo service gets a bit sketchy outside of the I-15 cooridor. Every time i'm in Montana, Wyoming and even parts of Idaho its a total crap shoot if I'll even be able to get voice roaming (usually on AT&T's network). And building penetration in my office in Salt Lake is horrible.

When you put in your apn for Straight Talk, don't put in the first port or proxy that it says to. It'll help so that you may not get throttled as aggressively or kicked off the network.

Want a free in VR in the UK with the S7?

So last night I ordered my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge directly from the Samsung UK website and nowhere did I see it mention the free VR that everyone else is getting.
I placed my order anyway and decided to give Samsung UK a call to find out why. It turns out that only carriers are offering the VR on contracts and not on SIM Free purchases direct from Samsung, despite what was said in the keynote. The support staff told me that they had lots of people calling to complain about this and have started an internal petition on behalf of their users, the more people that call the bigger the list.
If you want any chance of getting a VR like everyone else I would give them a call and complain. It's worth a shot.
The number for support is: 0330 726 7467
The Galaxy S7 Edge is actually even more expensive in the U.K. than the rest of the E.U. (thanks to some shady Euro > Pound conversion). 639.00 GBP = 818.902 EUR vs €799 in continental europe.
There is no white version in the UK for some reason either, as opposed to countries within the Eurozone.
I have just ordered two S7 Edges on Vodafone and ensured I got a headset with each phone. I'll sell one of them to make £50 back as the other phone is for the wife.
Pretty crappy of Samsung not to provide the headset when you buy direct. I wouldn't be at all happy about that.
Thanks very much for posting this. Just called them and added my name to their "internal poll".
As you said, the more that call, the more chance this will happen.
Other details I got from them were:
- The UK region is only scheduled to get Gold or Black for now
- The UK region is only scheduled to get a 32GB model
No polls for either of those, seems like quite a "set" thing.
EE still have nothing about the gear vr on their website? i
I ordered through chitter chatter and they are giving a 64 gb micro sd card instead.
Ill give that samsung number a ring and see . THanks
A Samsung employee posted on another thread that when pre ordering, sim free phones aren't eligible, only those on contracts.
See that really wouldn't bother me if they said that at the keynote. What they did say was "preorders in the US & special countries" then later stating Europe. As the UK is in Europe and I preordered at the right time I assumed I ticked all the boxes. Instead all we get is a lousy rugby pen.....I hate rugby haha so that's just salt in the wound.

Just a follow up, I called support asking whether the VR would show on the order and was told "we're not sure whether we're adding the VR as a separate order or onto existing ones" this explains why they're not showing on preorders.

Samsung UK is selling the S7 for 569 GBP, though which is exactly the same as 699 EUR.
On the other hand, we don't have a white option for the regular S7 here in Bulgaria and I think none of the markets have it in white, actually.
The S7 Edge, however, should come in white as well.
only voda and car phone warehhouse are giving the gear vr free so the whole free on all pre orders was just a lame marketing ploy to boost initial sales. As to the g5 I have a g4 at the minute and only the 815 international version has an unlockable bootloader unlock via lg only and bye bye warranty since the g4 has a hardware bug that is causing bootloop in the first batch devices I don't put much faith in lg for a substitute.G4 had bad overheating and touch screen issues for about 5 months till lg patched it out.

The difference between a revised Note 7 vs. an "explosive" one

This is hilarious...just a sticker on the box. Won't deter people just to take the sticker off and put it on an "explosive" box and then sell it. Worse yet...it seems real easy to counterfeit. Wish they would just mark the phone case with an "S" or "R" or something. Better keep your boxes if you plan on ever reselling it!

I don't think it's really that hard to slap a sticker and stamp a black square on an existing label though if you had the inclination. I seriously doubt the majority of buyers would even care look at the Samsung database when the tool does come out though.
The best thing to do for now is to ban the sale of Note 7s on any trading site like eBay, Swappa, Gazelle, etc. I would go even farther and collaborate with GSMA to deactivate all Note 7s that do not have IMEIs consistent with the fixed phones like they do with stolen phones. This will help insure that these phone can be taken off the market quickly and dealt with and further reduce risk of potential injuries and property damage.

Just like stolen phones...just notify GSMA with a list of defective IMEIs and boom...no service. You can still use them as wifi devices though i think.
They can also brick the device remotely.

I'm assuming there isn't any real change as far as hardware is concerned (other than the battery, of course)?
Several airlines around the world and the FAA have said you shouldn't use the Note 7 on a plane or have it turned on or put it in your checked luggage. Generally I would say it is improbable that anyone would actually recognize that you have a Note 7 when you attempt to fly but I would like some way to prove to them that it is a new Note 7 - replaced - no longer any more likely to burn someone than my laptop. Do we have a clue how we will prove it is a 'safe' Note 7?
The hibachi feature has been removed.

Don't know how this question is relevant to the thread. But I was approved a couple of days ago for a new Gear VR as part of the current Samsung promotions by purchasing a loaner S7 from the VZW store a week after returning the Note 7 for a refund.
At the time of the S7 purchase, they assured me I can return it for the new replacement Note 7 when they come in starting the 21st. In any case it doesn't really matter as I'd still be within my 14-day return window to do whatever I want anyway.

The article is over a week old now and nothing else has come of it, especially since their source is something they read on reddit. The free gear vr seems to be a France thing.

Because the link referenced the Samsung page where a gear VR was also included in the exchange process.
"The package will include a brand-new Note 7, the new version of the Samsung Gear VR, and a prepaid package to send the defective device back so you won’t have to pay for shipping costs. On top of that, if you participate in the Galaxy Note 7 Exchange Program, you will be receiving a $25 gift card, in-store credit, or bill credit from your carrier."

The paragraph beforehand pointed to a reddit link which talked about how the recall was being handled in France, not the USA. And the paragraph you quoted was a description of that recall process. It still isn't relevant to how you can tell the difference between an explosive vs. a safe device as the first part of the article does.

The phone itself is identical on the outside. There's no way to tell them apart physically. The box has a black square on the barcode panel, and the printing on the panel is sharper and thinner, while the original box printing is thick and bold.
The new phone immediately downloaded an update as soon as it was activated which changed the battery icon to green on the status bar, power menu and always-on screen.
That's it.

Is the 2nd Recall Official?

So there have been announcement from Samsung related to stopping the production of the Note 7, but I have not seen anything official calling for a recall.
Has the CPSC launched an official recall?
Has Samsung said anything more than that we should stop using the device and return it if we can?
I am holding out for the official recall, as of right now Samsung is not even offering a bill credit for returning the device. The first go around they offered $25. I went to AT&T yesterday and they said they would take the device back, but there would not be another bill credit.
Just curious if there has been an official recall or process for receiving a refund for the device. I figured we could also use this thread as a place to track the options once the recall is made official.
Not official but att and as far as I know all other carriers take it back no questions asked.
They added original and replacement devices to the http://www.samsung.com/us/note7recall/ so I would assume both returns will prompt a 25 credit by the carrier or third party gift card.

from what ATT told me.... that to get the 25 credit, i had to chose another samsung phone to replace my note 7 I had returned, and also I had to eat the 20.00 upgrade fee too, ATT would`t refund that, only the first Next payment I had paid.
From ATT website:
Customers with a recalled Galaxy Note7 may select a Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, or Galaxy S7 active or any other smartphone, and may also return any Note7 accessories. If a customer chooses another Samsung device, he or she will receive a bill credit of $25 per device within 1-2 bill cycles.

Depends on who you get to talk to at AT&T. I got the $20 access charge waived from att for my replacement. This time I'm returning it and using my wife's iPhone 6+ until I get the iPhone 7+ 256gb I ordered. I think it's time for an OS change. I have never used an iPhone before so this will be fun.

yeah I thought about change to Iphone 7+, I got one for my wife for wedding anniversary present, and I played with the zoom camera takes really nice pics, but she has had some issues with hers, and it might have to get a replacement, sometimes when try to wake it up with the home button, it sometimes it takes few tries to get it to wake up, and taking pics the camera will just close with out touching anything, and she has had it lock up few times and just sit there and is not responsive at all, shes not power user, so who know`s, and when it happens........ she said i should have just keep my iphone 6+:silly:
I'm going to miss you guys D:
I want to hold out but can't help but worry about when or where it will burst into flames…. It's stressful I tell ya.. Lol. I don't want an s7 edge had it the first recall and didn't like it only one that even close is the. LG V20 but doesn't come out till the 24th or so…… so I'm just at a loss on what to do.

Seeing as there isn't anything out that I feel compares to the Note7 I bought a used nexus6. Had one before and liked being able to root and rom it to make it the way I want. It will work till something else comes out.

yeah I`m think about getting OP3 again, I had one right before I bought the Note7 and really liked it so that`s probably were I`ll go back too. when ever OP get them back in stock.
I think im just going to keep using my N5. If rumors are true the S8 should be good (if it doesn't explode lol) and they are going to bump up the release date to Feb next year. Ill tell you this much though, its going to have to be amazing and Samsung better offer a deal to those of us that had to deal with this n7 fiasco.
If not this is the last Samsung ill use/buy

Gave mine up to Att today. Back on my OP3. I actually liked the note 7 too. Usually a nexus guy.
I actually haven't received a text from ATT about returning my note 7 like I did the first time.
