New Team Tiamat Rom is now available for Verizon 4G LTE - Xoom General

Enjoy the Rom from bigrushdog and solarnz:

Need help on what to do.
I have my Xoom with this...
Android Version 3.2
Kernal Version 2.6.36.2 Tiamat V2.2
Build Number HTJ85B
What do I need to do to get the new update? Do I upgrade to LTE first and then upgrade to Tiamat 2.3.3?

Bigrushdog says that the new Rom is basically the Moray Rom configured for 4G LTE. If you don't have 4G, you can stick with Moray.

This is great. Really missed this rom after the 4g upgrade. One question, are the Tiamat wallpapers not a part of this? I'm missing those.

Which Rom?

Hi folks,
I've been out of touch with custom rom going on's for a while - at the moment I'm running MoDaCo's 2.9 on the 1.5 firmware. Am I right in thinking there are now custom roms I could flash to my Hero that will also update the firmware? What are the particulary good ones at the moment (I haven't seen a MoDaCo Rom for ages - I think 3.2 was the last one?)
Sorry for being such a pain, there just seems to be MOUNTAINS to catch up on.
Thanks,
Pete.
Best 1.5 ROM is SenseHERO 1.6.
there is a new modaco rom, based on the latest 2.1 and it's great. fast and stable.
You have cronos droid which is based on the official 2.1 release (cronos 1.7) and you have villainrom which is also based on the official release (villainrom 10).
Both are rock solid choices.

Upgrade rooted 1.5 to 2.2

Hello there.
I'm currently having a rooted HTC Hero with the 1.5 ROM. I would like to upgrade it to the latest version for the Hero. The phone says I have one new system upgrade but I'm unable to complete the upgrade because I have a rooted phone.
So is there any XDA-guide to follow for upgrading a rooted device?
Best Regards
SH

there isn't an official upgrade to 2.2.
you could install a custom froyo rom (such as froyd villain) or upgrade to a more stable rom (such as chocolate eclair or vanilla eclair)

You're right. The official is 2.1 but how do I upgrade to that version with a hacked device?
See http://villainrom.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=375 for a guide. As you are rooted, just follow the how to flash instructions.
Instead of using the rom it mentions, which is old, flash the zip for froydvillain or whatever you want using patched recovery

How to install 2.2.1 update on CM6?

Has anyone figured out how to install the new 2.2.1 update on CM6 or do we have to wait for CM6.1?
Thanks in advance!!!
It's one or the other.
The newest nightly build is running 2.2.1

[Kernel] Clemsyn's Kernel for 1.2 bootloader only Froyo/Ginger/Honeycomb Version

This is my version 11 kernel specifically build only for Bootloader 1.2. Just for you information. Bootloader 1.2 allows us to flash adam ROMS etc...This should also work for zpad. So if you updated to 1.2 bootloader and would want to go back to your old rom (Vegan, TNT, Clemsyn+Caulkin combo) all you have to do is flash the ROM and then flash the kernel and you should be good to go. Here is the link.

Honeycomb Version

BTW, I only tested this in my Clemsyn+Caulkin Combo, but should also work for Vegan and TNT.

Clemsyn,
I appreciate all you and Roebeet's work on bringing HC to the gTab. I installed BOS a2.3 Saturday and your version 11 kernel Sunday. This morning I install BOS a2.4 and reinstalled your version 11 kernel. Each time I look at the Kernel Version it says 2.6.32.9-clemsyn-g568f750-dirty. Am I doing something wrong or have you been too busy to update the version number?

Daris

That is right, but if you use BOS a2.4, there is no need to flash my kernel since it is already in the ROM
Good to know. Thanks! I am looking foward to future updates.

Using bottleofsmoke with your kernel now, great job.
forum search is down.
May I know where to get rndis_host modules for the kernel, want to use usb tethering.
I'm wondering what for this 1.2 Ginger kernel for since I cannot find any Ginger ROM using 1.2 boot loader. Anybody can make use of this clemsyn kernel for Ginger?

its postulated that you can restore a backup of a 1.1 ROM while using the 1.2 BL and then flash the 1.2 kernel in order to get the ROM working. This needs to be tested.
I got stuck myself running the CM7 2.3.4 nightlies.

That is the right process in which you can restore run 1.1 ROM, and then flash it with Clemsyn's or Pershoot's NEWBL kernel.

No go for me
I have BL 1.2 which I got earlier by flashing stock 4349 and update to HC BoS
HC BoS has already CWM 3.028
I cannot update any 1.1 Ginger ROM (Tried Vegan, Vanilla, Harmony) using CWM 3.028
The error message :
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "harmony" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "harmony" ||

i just turned on my new g-tabler for the first time. it wants to update from 3551 to 3991, would that put me on 1.2 ? or doeso only the 4xxx update move to 1.2?
Also, i read 1.2 is locked and does not allow custom kernels, this seems to be a custom kernel for 1.2, so was that info proven wrong? the thread is locked so i cant ask there
i am looking for stability and full hw accel (and something actively developed) can someone suggest a rom?
I do part-time android developer, you can see my apps/projects in my sig, I may see how I can contribute to the g-tablet now that I have one
thanks!

I think 3991 using 1.2 boot loader
To make easier update, see roebet honeycomb thread
You will find everything there for upgrading to 1.2 BL
I suggest to use 1.2 based ROM since more upcoming ROM such as honeycomb will use 1.2 BL
Lot of people say calkulin+clemsyn combo 6 is fast stable ROM
Btw, if you know some android! programming, maybe you can
work on Bluetooth DUN dial up client application.
Gtab only has wifi, meaning when travelling and can't get wifi, it's cripple
There is solution already with android phone to have wifi tethering.
But for people don't have android phone, Bluetooth dun tethering will be better
choice since most of smartphone have Bluetooth DUN capability.
I think this what lot of people missing now in gtab.
I have study a bit and find out in fact android git already implement Bluetooth dun
functionality. However missing DUN dialer application.
Only Archos makes their own DUN shipped with Archos 70 series
Clem is it possible to get a 1.6 oc version of this for 1.2 honeycomb? I had my tab up to 1.6 on 3.1.4 enhancement and was stable and flying. Like to push it as far as I can.
The link to the rapidshare download for Gingerbread doesn't seem to be working. Is there an alternative place to pick it up?

Hey Clemsyn,
Now that rayman has a mostly working 2.6.36 kernel for Adam and they are close to having useful honeycomb roms that run on it, including full hardware acceleration, is there any hope that you'll get in to his git and make a gtab kernel out of it?
I did try booting a boot.img that rayman gave me, and then also the ic1.zip which is a full test rom, but nothing gets past the Viewsonic birds. He has some ideas, and knows changes need to be made for Gtab. It would be great if you could get involved.

Difference between ROMs...

Hi,
Now that I have been able to get Vegacomb on my Vega im very chuffed with myself lol and want to keep making this Tablet better!
I have at the moment installed this -- [ROM] VegaComb BETA 1.7
Is this one any better?
[ROM] [3.2] Vegacomb 3.2 Build 8.1
What are the main differences?
And what is this one all about?
[NIGHTLY][ROM][GRJ22] CyanogenMod 7
I have read through them but as im still learning im getting a bit lost as to what is better and what the main differences are...
Any help would be great guys.
Thanks
The main differences are the android versions that they are based on:
CyanogenMod 7 = Android 2.3
VegaComb beta 1.7 = Android 3.0
VegaComb 3.2 build 81 = Android 3.2
The VegaComb beta 1.7 has now been replaced by the Vegacomb 3.2 Build 8.1 so you will probably want to upgrade to that version.
Nice one mate, thats exactly what I wanted, a nice and simple reasoning to change!!
To change to the newer one then, do I do this in the same way I got beta 1.7 on it then?
Thanks again for your help mate.

For VegaComb 3.2 build 8.1 you need to follow a certain install path.
First, install this: http://tabletroms.com/forums/vega-r...ddedstock_1-10-v2-updated-stock-rom-base.html
Then once it is booted go in to recovery via the recovery app and then wipe user/cache/dalvik and then install the ROM below via clockworkmod > install update from sdcard.

Your a legend, thank you so much )
