Yes. You get no warning or confirmation. The Fire just downloads without telling you, reboots and installs it. You then lose your root and get FC's all over usually because of it.

oh God really?
then I have to reinstall all (worst case)?!

Btw, is it possible to freeze any app or process to prevent from updates?

Use gladenable to get sideloading.

I know that there are other ways to side load apps but I thought that with this latest update that ut was enabled from Att?

Not from at&t yet. Other android phones, yes, but not the atrix. The enabling of sideloading doesn't have to be a major firmware update, either. It's a simple edit.

There's no ATT approved method of using nonmarket apps. You can either use Sideload wonder machine OR root/gladenable.

What are your best kernals?

What are they? Why are they your favorite
Thee is only one for the KF. It is Hashcode's. You should stop putting "what is the best ROMs" before the mods get mad.

[UNCONFIRMED] Potential Root for the Kindle Fire HDX

Hello, all! I do not have a kindle fire hdx and do not plan on getting one, but I want to help out those who DO have one or are planning on getting one. I've been thinking and I was wondering if the hdx was susceptible to the "Master Key" or "Bug 9695860" exploits. To test, please sideload the apk attached below and report back with results. (If the text is all red, that's a good sign)

Framaroot won't work. No offense, but you should leave everything up to the people who actually know what we are doing.

The maturity level of xda members is declining, for sure.

At this point I guess the OP can change the subject line to something like '[CONFIRMED] not working root method'.

You are young and inexperienced... Which is why you should leave stuff to people who actually know what they are doing...

Who the heck are you to tell someone who was willing to actually try something new? I don't care if this is your 1st day trying to root something, an attempt is an attempt. We all start off as young and inexperienced. Instead of trolling his attempt, do something constructive with your time instead of just bashing a young inexperienced dev.
How likely are we to get a root for the HDX?
How likely are we to get a root for the HDX?
progress?
Has anyone done anything further towards rooting the HDX 7 model?
Any word on root?....I'd be more than willing to help or test!

Not really new. If it were, I would have said "Good attempt, sucks that it doesn't work :/"
