Separate S2 forum Category for I1900G and I9100 - Galaxy S II General

Hi All,
just wanted to ask if it is possible to open new forum for I9100G users?
the number of these users are increasing and all the I9100 ROMs don't work with I9100G!
I think it is good idea to open new forum to eliminate the confusion and to align the effort of building a good ROM for I9100G users.
what do you think?

What's the difference between the two?

Why is the [India] users thread being repeatedly closed??!!

Mods,
Please explain what the problem is, if we have a Indian users thread for Availability & Pricing of the Galaxy Note 2 ?? This is the 2nd such thread which has been closed in 3 days.
By asking us to post India prices & where available in the "common" thread is ridiculous !
I do see other "Price & Availability" threads in this very same Forum being allowed to run un-hindered.
I have been posting previously in the Samsung Galaxy S2 Forum and there were dedicated threads for INDIA users.
Please explain !!
+1. Its the second time it has been closed. Similar thead for other countries are untouched

Yes, I agree with Derek, we are not having common discussions and the topic is specific to India. What's the logic in closing that. You would rather have people talk in Indian Rupees on common threads?

Regarding Jelly Bam

I am just a normal user not a developer. This is just a question to the moderators and administrator group.
I came to know that JellyBam is banned from XDA, may we know the reason please? It is really wonderful ROM and it deserves some space on XDA. XDA is the biggest and the best community for the users to get help and to help others. We all are dependent on XDA for all issues and almost everything related to Mobile. The end user is getting affected by banning the ROM to XDA. XDA is the main source for everything for any android user. I believe the problems with JellyBam should be solved (personal view)
Request: Can you both please get to some conclusion so the end user get the benefits of the both.
P.S: I'm not taking anyone's side here. Even I am not a developer. Please don't ban me for the Suggestions & Questions for JellyBam

the problem is with xda and the developers. you dont have a right to know why they are banned. the problem with jellybam is on the developer side, not the xda side. so its up to the developer to solve it. the developer doesnt want to solve it, so they remain banned. it is their choice.
Please understand this, the developer is banned from XDA and so is the work.
As the developer felt the need not to comply with XDA policies of Development. So the discussion of the topic, is that...developer is banned and the work.
Thank You.

Forum organization suggestion: I9300 vs I9305

Right now, forums specific to the I9300 and forums shared by both models have the same naming pattern. Only I9305-specific forums are named differently.
This can confuse some people, especially newcomers, who might think e.g. that S3 General is for I9300 only.
To avoid this confusion, I suggest putting "I9300" in the title of forums specific to that model.
Also, it seems the Original development section is I9300-only, so there is no place to post I9305 originals.

Suggest you contact the moderators .
it seems the Original development section is I9300-only
No
9305 development has both Original and Samsung as the index says .

Best threads are usually frowned upon as it's really a matter of personal preference.
To answer about Paranoid, you must not have searched much/at all.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2502789
Haha sorry I'm kinda knew to the site. But thanks for your help buddy!

So under the vs980 folder on the downloads, it only shows 4.0 alpha and beta downloads. Are there any 4.4.2 roms?
Sent from my VS980 4G using xda app-developers app
Yes but they are all unstable. The Paranoid is still beta version and the Cyanogenmod is still nightlies version.
However both of them are great but for daily use the Paranoid is more stable than the Cyano.
The Cyano has also a lot of things that doesn't work good for now.
What r some good stable 4.4.2 rooms that still have the knock on feature and quick remote? And preferably pie and halo

Paranoid 4.0+
Depends on you, i like Slimkat, mahdi and paranoid, all then is very good

Hello, and welcome to the forum,
Before you click the "New Thread" or "Post Reply" buttons, please take the time to read some rules/guidelines for posting in this forum:
1) Read and follow the Forum Rules:
Plain and simple. No further explanation needed
2) Post your message in the proper subforum (see above):
All questions, requests, and help & troubleshooting needs, go in the Q&A Help & Troubleshooting subforum, if one exists for your device, and any misplaced messages will be promptly moved to their respective location. Users that make it a habit of posting in the wrong forum will be addressed accordingly. If you're unsure of where your post or thread belongs, please read the Forum Rules again.
3) No off-topic discussion:
While some Moderation Teams may allow some off-topic discussion and the creation of off-topic threads, we do not. There is an entire General Off-Topic forum devoted to this type of discussion and there are enough threads already available to meet anyone's off-topic needs. All off-topic threads, and posts containing off-topic discussion, will be deleted promptly and without warning. If you're concerned with the amount of off-topic discussion and misplaced questions in the Development forums, please consider making a Q&A Thread for your ROM/Kernel/Project/etc.
4) No threads or posts asking for the best/most stable ROM/Kernel/Mod/whatever, or created for the purpose of comparing Phones/ROMs/Kernels/Mods/whatever:
These threads/posts will be deleted promptly and without warning. They have a history of causing problems due to trolls, and fanboys, along with various troublemakers, and therefore are no longer allowed. Regardless of that, there is really no way to judge whether or not a particular piece of work is better than another because it's all relative to begin with. If you want to know what piece of work is better for you, install something and try it out for a while. If you don't like it, try something else. Our Developers work hard to provide us their contributions, free of charge. Please show them the respect they deserve by trying something out and giving them your feedback.
5) Don't ask for an ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival):
Asking for an ETA is the XDA equivalent of telling a Developer that the free work they do just isn't enough for you. It usually comes across as rude and/or demanding, and most developers will take offense to it. Even if a particular Developer doesn't mind being asked for an ETA, there are many that do, and there's a good possibility that it will incite arguments in the forum. In the end, it's just best to avoid doing it altogether. If you have no other choice but to ask for an ETA (i.e. the work you're doing absolutely depends on it), then please, do it through a private message and keep it out of the public forums.
6) Keep your signatures at a respectable size:
While members are given a great deal of freedom in creating personalized signatures, it is expected that this freedom is not abused. Abnormally large signatures are obnoxious to most users and they tend to be a major distraction from the topic at hand. If your signature is double the size of an average post or larger, expect be asked to change it. If you're not sure whether the size of your signature is within the respectable limits, feel free to contact a member of the Moderation Team that is assigned to this forum for clarification.
7) Be nice:
It's not that hard. If you can't say something nice to someone, don't say anything at all. If you feel the need to respond negatively to someone, please refer to #8.
8) Report all violations of the aforementioned rules/guidelines and DO NOT respond to them in the open forum:
If you happen to notice a rule violation, use the "Report Post" button in the upper right hand corner of the offending post, or send them a polite reminder through private message so they may resolve the problem on their own (for minor violations of course). Please do not respond to posts that are in violation of the rules in public. Regardless of the fact that it leaves more work for us to do when cleaning the forum, responding to them in public only compounds the issue and it puts you at risk of getting in trouble yourself. Moderators have much more effective ways of dealing with these situations than by arguing back and forth and disrupting the entire conversation, so please, let us handle it.
If there are any questions or concerns regarding this or any other matter, please feel free to contact a member of the Moderation Team that is assigned to this forum. You can find a list of the assigned Moderators at the top of each sub-forum page.
With that, here are a few great threads to help you get the most out of your experience here...please take advantage of them:

What is wrong in opening useful topics?

Mods seem to be going on a closing spree here and I fail to understand why
How can a topic for discussing bugs (and serious for that matter) be just dumped along in the KitKat 4.4 thread. All discussion/news/rumors here! topic?
Does not seem practical that I have to read 157 odd pages to check if an issue I have is genuine or not and if it has been discussed.
I had an issue with 4.4.2 and S-view in relation to alarms as discussed here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50792737 and the thread was closed! No, this was not moaning ... it was a real bug, but no, the mods think it should be merged into a general thread.
Others had an issue with their email app and that thread was closed too!
Don't bugs report need to stand out? Having a topic specially for Bug report thread would help reduce a number of unnecessary threads from being opened as people will know where they are to discuss it.
Why is it that 4.2 and 4.3 discussions are spared but all KitKat related stuff need to go in one place? Averse to chocolates? Size conscious? The way I see it, with the current trend of closures, all we needed was a single topic "Android phones" and everything related to phones could go in there!
Please for the sake of common sense ... open a thread for OS related Bug reports and let us have a more streamlined discussion there.

don't find anything wrong with it..
They don't want it to spread into numerous threads, and want everything to be in one place..
About reading 157 pages, there is a reasonthat search option was introduced...make used of it...
and, quite frankly,I will rather read 200 pages than roaming xda looking for a specific thread..

I've given up trying to reason with this moderation team. Ever since the device teams got re-arranged sometime last year it just went down the toilet as a discussion platform. The S3 had awesome moderators and some other forums still do. You just need to browse around and see the difference.
As long as moderators consider themselves editors then it will continue to go downhill.
It's sad/ironical because this thread itself is going to get closed soon. Give it a couple of hours.
Yeah funny cause this thread has nothing to with the s4..
Just someone whinning about having to do some research before posting...

I'm glad someone brought this up. I've even tried complaining against a couple of the mods. Apparently they're allowed to do as they please.

Mod Edit
If people followed the XDA RULES , there would be no need for Moderation.
Unfortunately...that is not the case.
