My S7 DOES NOT BOOT UP! - Ideos S7 General

My s7 does not boot up correctly and it says "update failed, try again". it always appear when i turn it on. after the message appears, i cannot turn it off. so i have to remove the battery. my s7 - 105 does not boot and keeps getting that error. do anybody have a solution for this situation. please anyone reply. please help.

Put the firmware upgrade for your model on a memory card, remove the battery to power off, then put it back in. When you boot your tablet the upgrade should start automatically. After the update shows OK make sure you remove the memory card before you reboot your tablet.

I ha to remove a log file on the SD card and insert it again, redo the flash, then it worked. Dont worry, there is life it will be ok.

stuck at "GSM OK" when updating

I upgraded my device (PW10B1, Wallaby 5.15) from PPC2002 to WM2003final downloaded from http://www.romkitchen.de, I used SD card type-1 and the writing completed successfully but after cold reset, Wallaby boot screen showed up again and stopped with "GSM OK" message and won't go any further. Please help, Thanks.
When you get GSM OK, you are in the bootloader.
Maybe a malware of your powerbutton....
if you just do a softreset, what happens without touching the powerbutton?
Stefan
actually I got the device in damaged condition from a friend, before upgraded it won't boot to windows, it was just keep displaying Wallaby boot screen with "GSM ERROR" message when turned on. After upgrade process and soft reset (with and without touching power button, the results are the same) Wallaby boot screen is still displayed but the message is "GSM OK". I'm thinking the same thing, the power button may be damaged somehow, I'll try to check that, I'll let you know what comes up. But is there any other possibility for the problem? Thank you very much Stefan.
Joyo
No, normaly not, btw. i do not know any possibility.
Stefan
power button
I tried to work on the power button, opened the device and take a good look at the switch, physically it looked just fine. Well, guess I just have to let that one go :? Thanks for the help Stefan.
Joyo
Hi thejoyo, have successful you recovered your wallaby? I have exact problem:
1. The device automatically enters bootloader 5.22, says GSM OK and then stop. Buttons dont work, except for two reset button.
2. Charge led (usually amber when charging) turn RED
3. I managed to flash the device by SD card method but did not success. When i put SD card into device and reset, it automatically flashed itself!!! Without my permission, didn't press OK button!!! It's very strange. Then it said that flash success, cold reboot. I press reset button and it enter bootloader again, like i have never flashed it.
I have tried many SD card, still no luck.
Should I try something else? Please suggest me what to do next!

Help

Hey every one I'm new to xda and I got my samsung vibrant rooted with the stock system recovery and was working fine but than I decided to do some apps and file transfer from another android phone to it and after that my phone kinda froze on me. So I rebooted the phone and boom nothing happen after the galaxy s animation, its just stuck there then the screen went black out. I rebooted again and this time I went to the sustem recovery mode and try to do the data reset but it couldn't fix it either. I tried to connected to my computer but since the phone wasn't fully booted into the home screen my computer are unable to detect the phone driver. I reconnect the phone and computer together, and this time I got to where it say's "downloading" "do noy turn off target", what is that mean? is it download something or is that I'm suppost to do something to it. Please can someone help me out. I've already download the stock firmwire but couldn't be able to transfer to the mass storage cos the phone couldn't boot beyound the galaxy s animation and eventhough its in the system recovering I still couldn't get it to connect to the phone mass storage. What can I do to fix it?.
You can take the battery out at that screen, but I don't know if it's going to fix your overall issue.
Take sd out. Hook to computer with adapter. Move stock nandroid to sd. Replace sd in phone. Boot into clockwork recovery. Restore nandroid. Reboot.you are now stock with root.
one thing
I know what I did is stupid but at lease I learn my lesson. I would really appreciate if someone could help me out.
help
I tried but its not working cost the phone doesn't read what's on the sd card it read only the mass storage which is the 14g not the 2g memorycard.
The SD card won't be in the phone so of course it won't read from it. It will read from the interbal memory, so do it from there.

Turn off the phone, take out the battery and take out the SD card, try to get your hands on a sd card reader for your card so you can fix what you did without using your phone to mount it. Copy the rom or stock firmware over to the card and use the recovery, wipe data/factory reset and then try to load up the stock firmware. if all else fails do a hard reset:
To hard reset Samsung Vibrant, follow the steps below:
Step 1. Turn your Samsung Vibrant off. If your Samsung Vibrant is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it.
Step 2. Hold the Volume Down button.
Step 3. Press and release the Power button.
Step 4. You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastboot, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button, then press and release the Power button.
Step 5. Choose one of these: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO. If you selected YES, all data including third-party applications will be deleted from the Samsung Vibrant.
That is for the default recovery so depending on the recovery you are using try to wipe everything and flash the ROM from the sd card, if you need help PM me or contact me on chat.andirc.net #droideris, or irc.andirc.net #droideris

if i start with vol+/vol-/power i get a pink screen
if i start with vol+/power i get a blue screen
I can access the microsd using an sd adapter
i can access the phone connecting it to my mac when it is in blue or pink screen, but i see an EMPTY 267 mb memory, i suppose i somehow deleted the phone system files (i remember folders like android, image...). Is there any way to solve this?
Thank you
Hi...i haven't an answer but i have you're problem.... HELP ME!!!
same here
Hello, no answer either but I have the same issue after updating my U8800Pro : blue screen on normal start which needs the battery to be taken out to restart.
When on pink screen and connected to the computer, I can only see an empty folder...
Let me know if there is any known solution.
Thanks
try to flash it without battery inserted. Just put your flash file into sd-card, put it into phone, pull out the battery hold "+" and "-" and at the same time insert usb cable. Wait until upgrade process starts. Thats it

[Q] U8800 pro boots straight to pink screen, please help

Hello. I have the U8800 pro. I was trying to install one of the Jelly Bean ROMs for this phone and I completely forgot to delete a dload file from the root of the sd card. I was on the official ICS ROM from Huawei and still had a dload file from the update. It went into the update screen and was stuck halfway on step 2, didn't say update failed at all, it was just stuck on installing. . .
So I took out the battery and put it back in. When I turned the phone back on, it showed the Huawei logo and went to the update again by itself. I had to remove sd card and delete that dload folder. I put the sd card back in and when I turned the phone back on again, it showed the Huawei logo again for a few seconds and then just goes straight to the pink screen. I can't even go into recovery mode. Won't let me. I take out the battery, put it back in, turn it on, same ordeal, huawei logo, then automatic pink screen. I connect it via USB and it doesn't detect the removable drive for the system image. Nothing. My question is, is there any possible way to resolve this issue? Any way to get back into recovery? I'm really not hoping that I bricked this phone. It's a really decent phone. Thank you for your time and please reply and answer soon. I greatly appreciate it.
Booting straight into pink screen means there is no rom installed. The phone tries to install the official rom from the sd card. When it doesn't find anything, it goes into pink screen. This means you must try installing an official rom to make the phone boot. Try installing GingerBread.

I downloaded the official Gingerbread rom for the phone and it just said "Update failed" on the unpacking part. The sd card is completely empty. I only have the dload folder on it with the Gingerbread update. I keep trying and it just keeps telling me "Update failed." What should I do now? I'm confused to why it is failing, if there is no rom on the phone. And thank you so much for the reply, by the way.
Try hard resetting your phone:

PLEASE HELP! S6 edge + rebooting

Hello i have been freaking out and researching this for hours. (found nothing)
What I did
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9gL_4KNs_Q
I have T-Mobile.
Now when my phone boots up it keeps shutting off. stays on for 1-5 seconds
I then did a factory reset and cleared the cache.
I can some times get it to the home screen and flip back and forth on the different screens then it shuts off. I have seen I have superuser on in the apps but don't get a lot of time to check root before it shuts off.
I do have red text on the Samsung logo screen that says "kernel is not seandroid enforced" (Spelling)
What do I do?
Safe mode also shuts off.
I can get to download mode and recovery mode
I just cant get it to stay on .
Any help would be great thanks.
Additional info
Update more info: When I factory reset. I do get an error failed to mount /preloader (no files or directory) wording might be a bit off but that's about what it says.
does it restart in recovery/download mode?
does it restart when the plug in into a charger?

Sorry for the miss communication.
Lets try this again.
I can plug the phone in and it charges while its turned off. you know the battery screen.
I can volume up, home and power For down load mode
I can volume down home and power (factory reset, cache delete so on)
I can get ODIN to connect but I cant flash the firmware I found. Maybe its the wrong firmware? Could you point me to what I need?
But when I just turn it on either charging or not it shuts it self off a few seconds later. Seems to happen after a message about auto time and date pops up. And when I say shuts down it just shuts off no like shut down screen or anything.
ok start again, please put all info so it wont be confusing:
what initiate the problem?
did you install a custom rom?
are you rooted?
what phone model are you using?
odin version?
have you tried flashing thru samsung switch? if not, try it

Update:
I just got my phone back from Samsung. On Friday they told be they didn't fix it because it was rooted and said they are mailing it back. Well now I don't have a phone so I Saturday I went and got a new s7 edge from t mobile. Its now Wednesday and I get my phone from Samsung. I open the package all bummed wondering what I am going to do with this phone. I then see the phone is in a small blue draw bag thing I thought it was cool so I open it to look at it and I see my phone light it. The sim card and tray on taped to the back of the phone but my phone is on! I then sat here looking at it waiting for it to reboot. I put my sim card. Then a screen popped up saying reboot? and I click yes . I was so mad at myself but then it restarted and everything was ok. I installed root checker and I have root access. the phone has now been on for the last hour or so. Not sure if it was something Samsung did or taking the sim card out did something.
But now I have a rooted s6 edge plus rooted and a s7 edge. and out like 600 bucks
Best solution, use Samsung's Smart Switch software (download from their site) and restore to factory ROM and kernel (official Samsung version). If it is anything software related, this will definitely fix it.
in case you dont know the steps: open smart switch, connect device (make sure its detected), got to more > emergency software recovery & initialization > Device initialization > type in your exact model name at the bottom > then serial number (make sure you type it correctly > type ok, follow instructions, and let it do its thing .
Try this and let me know how it goes. Good luck.
its kernal issue try to flash a different kernal available for edge+
