Tasks Exchange Sync - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

Hi,
I just got my Galaxy Note and am generally happy with it. It does not have any branding or software from a cell phone operator on it.
Exchange syn works with e-mail, contacts and calendar but not with Tasks.
It did work on my Galaxy S 2.
Do you have any hints?

+1 i have tried every possible trick and would not sync!!!
also try to enter a recurring event/calendar and see what happens...disaster!
i personally think, android is mot 100% compatible with active sync...except the email part works fine

It worked fine on my galaxy s 2.
It also works perfectly with all Apps that offer tasks exchange sync!
So it is definitely not Android.
Should we try to go to Samsung support?

I agree, I did not have a problem with galaxy sii it worked fine...wow also has HTC sensation and works perfectly

I have my Note set up to sync mail, calendar, contacts and tasks with a corporate Exchange server. I hadn't bother checking tasks until I saw your message.
Looked in S-planner (under Tasks tab) and they're all there...
Not sure what you problem could be.

I have SBS 2008 at the office. I must say I have problems syncing tasks. At first they didn't show up.
Because I am in the office most of the day I only sync every hour, just to keep things up to date.
But tasks only started to show up when I changed to push. And now I've set it back to every hour it seems a bit hit and miss. I end up having duplicate tasks on my outlook in the office.
E mails & calendar seen fine. I'm not sure what the issue is. It seems a bit unreliable.

Thanks for the tip. Just to add on, to get to the Tasks tab, at the top right, press the circle within it a > sign, and all the tabs are revealed.

After being able to sync task from my corporate exchange account for a few days, it stopped working for me.
My tasks are categorise as "office" in outlook and in S-Planner, the equivalent is "default". Since it stopped working for me, I decided to change the category in outlook to default and some of my tasks appeared in S-Planner, not all of them. New task in outlook with default category some times could sync to S-Planner only, and vice versa from S--Planner to outlook. I can't get a consistent way to make them sync bi-directionally. Can you share your situation?

I found that the tasks sync some times but not others. If the only change is in status (completion), it hardly ever syncs (and never from device to server). And I haven't ever seen it sync via push (or put it this way, I don't have the patience so I ended up manually syncing it again and again to see what happens).
Also, when tasks created on the device arrived at the server, the start date/time is lost. Makes them very difficult to locate.
At first I think it is an issue with all Androids, because google tasks do not support start date, but if it works on other models, then it is a Notes thing.

Which firmware version are you on? I'm on 2.3.5 KK1.

i am having the same problem.
I used Windows Mobile for some years and now changed to android.
Syncing seems to be really a problem.
sometimes it didn't synced my Calendar, and it never synced my Tasks.
After i stopped trying to get it working i just got to bed and when i woke up there where all tasks synced.
Not sure when it syncs or why it is syncing only when it wants to do.
I am using Zarafa on a private server with Z-Push to sync over active-sync.
//Edit: Ok. it seems it is also syncing from my phone to the server.
But only automatic and not with the push on any sync button.
Has everyone enabled "Automatic Sync for Applications" in the System Settings?
Maybe that is the option that needs to be enabled because i think i first had it disabled?

Sadly, if you want Task to sync with Outlook/Exchange you are going to have to install MobileIron.

which number is the firmware version?
Android 2.3.6
build number ZSKK1

Yes, I did but no leads yet. If you can do it from your end, it would be good. Hopefully that with more feedbacks from all over the world, HQ will do something about it.
BTW, do you have problem of "IRM not supported" ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1375765 This is even more problematic for me because the only solution for me now is to delete and re-create my Exchange Activesync account.

I just wrote the Samsung on this issue.
This is such a shame for them to have this problem!!!
Galaxy S and S2 so far, as what I know, do not have similar issue.
Let's make it big so that they will act on this.

Has anybody experienced loss in formatting or crlf in your task notes? Since I started using Galaxy Notes, I found that at least one of my tasks keep losing these two. Bold words lost their formats, and some lines are joint into one.

I have the same problem "IRM not supported", have to delete the account of "microsoft exchange server" and recreate it again and again to keep active sync. Call Samsung Hotline but no answer! Shame on SamgSung .... can't believe this High Tech PDA Phone will have such pushing mail problem! really shame!!!

Exchange on the Hero, first impressions

I've noticed that not has much been said on the Hero's exchange support in any of the reviews or user reports so I thought I'd let people know what it's like as, for me, this is a must have feature. I should say that I have not had an android phone before and so I have had no experience with Nitrodesk's exchange solution so I can't compare.
Well, I entered my exchange details during initial set-up and after my first attempt was unsuccessful (SSL needed and is off by default) it than worked. Asked me if I wanted to sync Mail, Calender and Contacts all of which I selected. After the rest of the setup had finished the phone told me I had a new e-mail arrive so I could tell it was working straight away.
Mail is fantastic. Downloads everything fine, has at least as many options as WM for choosing which messages to download. E-mails look great on the display and html e-mails show up fine.
Contacts are great, they all appear straight away in the people and the phone application. All the Facebook and Flikr integration works perfectly. Only niggle is that you can't group contacts by company which is something I used to do on WM.
Calender seems to work fine. Appointments showed up ok, including appointments sent by e-mail.
All in all, the exchange sync is way better than expected and in some ways better than WM. The integration seems very deep and integral to the OS rather than a bolt on feature.
I agree with you there Bud, just a shame that there is no task sync support yet - still looking
All was fine for me, but as soon as I've allowed it to connect my contacts to FB contacts, sync fails for conacts with a 'client/server conversion error' message.
I'm using exchange 2003, mail and calendar are syncing fine, and I too would love tasks to be added, along with a fix for contacts and I'm a happy hero user
Strange - I have had no issues with the Fb sync but i use Exchange 07
Just Exchange, or...
...also Outlook?
not tried to sync with outlook yet, whats the best app for that?
I would settle for an outlook connector that I could just set to sync contacts and tasks, as these two arent really changing so frequently I wouldnt mind having to 'plug in' to sync these.
I just use exchange so can't comment on outlook sync. Facebook linking worked fine for me but I also have exchange 2007 so can only assume it's a problem there. Not sure if the exchange functionality is all implemented by HTC or whether they've used part of Nitrodesk's Touchdown but I saw on the Nitrodesk website that they don't support exchange 2003 yet.

The only app is HTC sync which is included along with the hero's manual on the sd card supplied with your phonbe, word of warning i just installed htc sync on my vista pc and it caused windows explorer to continuously crash until i uninstalled it, not impressed
Tried to install the app ealier, drivers failed and the app wont work (win 7 32 bit)
Going to try the long way round for now - sync outlook contacts to my google account and keep the google contacts synced to my phone - would I end up with a duplicate of everyone then though?

I, like you (not I like you!), have synced up this way. I too cannot get HTC sync to work. I am sure Orange have bundled the wrong version.
So, I export Outlook to a file, then import contact file to google cal, then sync gcalendar to hero. Job done.
No duplicates, google calendar seems intelligent enough to recognise the dups
I would like to share my experience
Booted up.... would you like to set up exchange?
HELL YES!!!!
enter the details..... (internet accessible exchange server)

What you wanna sync my boy?
EVERY GOD DAMN THING
oooooook here we go.......

Sweet!
Thinking about an Adriod as my next phone, since I think WM is really falling behind everyone else! I use it mostly for work so a couple of questions if you don't mind....
No tasks syncing so far?
How does the calander work, are the views easy to see, day and week stuff?
Meeting requests work?
Can you flag email messages? This is a must for me and I hate that WM 6.5 can't even do it!
How do you find the keyboard replying to emails?
Can you open Word, Excel, PDF files?
Any other features it has for work that WM doesn't?
Thanks
Exchange
I'm having probs with exchange.
It will only sync my main inbox, not any of the subfolders I have, and will only sync via mobile network - fails on wifi ? ?
Then again can't get ANY web stuff on wifi ? ?
Word and excel fully creatable and editable with Docs to Go, and Open Office I think does let you read different docs though not sure which. Best PDF Reader seems to be RepliGo Reader which is good for books as well.
I'm only just getting to grips with Google Calendar but seems to have a great deal of flexibility for appts and stuff.
Widgets really just getting going, so I'm not sure of all those available...
Daisy - Magic owner, so Hero may be slightly different xx

Any idea what is going wrong. How can I fix it?

Anyone have any experience with exchange sync where the server requires you to set a password/pincode for the phone?
Heard some people saying that this was not supported by the Hero. A pity if true, as I need this to work in order to be able to use the Hero as a work phone (in other words, if I am to buy a Hero).
The out of the box exchange support is really very good. It just needs the ability to authenticate via password or client certificate.
I much prefer it to WM, but only because its completely finger friendly.
Yes you can flag emails, and they show up under the flagged emails tab at the bottom.
I really really hope the update within 10 days or September will affect this thing? Need to be able to sync more than one folder at the time.

works for me on vista 64 with orange branded HTC Touch. I believe there is an update on the HTC website, not sure if that enables win7 support
I certainly didn't notice explorer crashing after I installed it, chances are it's another explorer extension interfering (either a media codec that is failing at showing thumbnails, or a right-click extension or similar)

How are you guys managing Contacts and Calendar on Galaxy S?

I am having a little bit of frustration with managing my contacts and calendar on my galaxy s.
coming from a windowMobile user, I often use outlook to group, edit my contacts and calendar to keep everything orderly. Moving to Galaxy S, I only manage to sync with Kies ONCE to import my outlook contacts over. After that one time, kies stop working and I couldn't connect my phone to my pc except in mass storage mode.
I am sure I am not the only one here, so how are you people managing your contacts and calendar. Are there any other applications out there we can use? Clicking one by one of the phone is just too slow.
At least for me, Kies will not connect with USB debugging enabled.
Maybe you changed this setting?
I have no problem having it connected. If it's not connecting, ii usually reboot my PC, and disconnect then reconnect the USB cable.
My problem is that not all the contact records are synced over, and sometimes I says the value is not within the expected range then refuse to sync. At other times, the syncing stays at 0% completion forever.
In the case of calendar, it does not sync at all, while often also says the value is not within the expected range, while other times the progress bar refuse to move.
The first time I discovered it, after about 5 days of continuos but failed struggle to make it work, I gave up and entered the data manually. Yes, no joke, I manually recreated the data. But then, I did two hard resets after that. Now I simply give up and continue to use my iPhone for my email, calendar, and contact. I keep only a subset of my contact on my SGS to make calls, via the SIM card.
firmware problem
hi
i had problems syncing my calendar with kies. kies would crash everytime i click on calendar
now i upgraded to jm2 firmware and kies calendar sync works just fine
it was a firmware problem
i do it via google contacts, online.
everyone should have a gmail account by this date in computer age
I was found this problem once with my old laptop that was win XP. But with my new Window 7 laptop, nothing happens.
I just guess it is Kies not working well with win XP. What is your pc's os?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I've found that Kies will not connect When I'm using ADW launcher. It complains about not being idle. If I run the stock Touch Wiz Launcher, I can connect with Kies.
My problem with the Calendar sync is that Kies does not sync Recurring appointments, so none of my standing meetings show up.
I wonder if it is because google has too much limitation in it's calendar as compared to window and iPhone. I discovered that in android, I can't set up appointments that happens once every two weeks, but I have such recurring items on my iPhone.
Guys, check miqlive.com. Outstanding. Supports both WM and Android and many other phones. Backups up calls, contacts, calender and SMSs and you could edit them virtually from anywhere over the internet through a PC. It is free of cost and I have done some initial tests to backup. It worked great. Looking to try restores from a freshly partitioned SGS. I have seen many successfully using them.
Yeah, I've been using MIQ since I had my Xperia X1 and just installed it on my Galaxy S and everything just got resynced without any worries.

Storing anything on somebody's server is unacceptable solution to me though. It must be only to the outlook on my PC.
Hi,
My computer OS is window 7 Home Premium. As for problem with kies connection with the phone, I have no idea why it is not working. I have done multiple search on various forums, and found that a lot of people also having the same problem. Downloading the latest version of kies does not help.
Most suggested solutions are quite unacceptable such as hard reset or deleting all your mp3. Loosing all my data or mp3 everytime I want to sync are not good solutions.
I am really considering moving to the dark side and just upload all my contacts on google. Two major downside are that, all your contacts will be uploaded to the internet and google web application pale in comparison to what I am used to in Outlook.

You can export you contacts to vcf from the phone itself (go into contacts, then settings) to the internal storage or an external sd card, then just put the vcf file somewhere safe. As for me, im not syncing calendar with gmail either. I got Kies working when i got my phone so i got to sync my calendar once, now it doesnt work at all. Tried all "fixes" but nothing worked. Im on Win7 64bit. MIQ is not an option either, i need to sync with outlook.
Hmmm, I don't have any problems like that with google calendar, it's actually got mor options than apple calendar. I have events recurring weekly, during footy season, bi weekly for work, monthly for bills. NP
Google Calendar Sync might be an option, it syncs phone with gmail and gmail with outlook and vice versa.

New Kies update
Hey guys,
Check out the latest Kies update xxx74.2 it now syncs to Outlook properly - well calendar and contacts at least.
Still don't know how to keep my emails on my phone all the time.
my whole life is in my gmail account, calenders/contacts/email addresses.
i've sold my soul to them.
Syncing only over Gmail for Contacts and Calenders even Picasa photos. First i had the Google Calender Sync installed on my Computer to sync the Gmail account with Outlook.
Problem was that when i made an input on Gmail or Outlook, some hours later it was gone in both.
But since i don´t use it anymore, i never had any problems again.

Companion Link - Android Sync

I had been searching for a way to sync my work calendar in Outlook 2007 to Google properly so I can get my work calendar on my phone. Everything I tried would only sync meetings, appointments, etc. which I had created, and not items I had been invited to, or which were created by other people. The following software did a 1st class sync of my contacts and calendar:
CompanionLink
I am still using the trial which is 100% functional for 14 days, and it seems to do exactly what I needed. Thought I would share this with you. It's expensive to buy after trial, but if it continues to auto sync OK for me, I will be buying it.
If its a work calendar, I am assuming they use Exchange. Why not connect to the Exchange server directly?

Can't, company blocks Android ATM because it's not secure enough, otherwise I would do that. If you have BB or iPhone you can connect to exchange..........Android phone is SOL until possibly 3.0.
<edit> That's for company I work for and not a general statement. Every form of media I use from laptop HDD to thumb drives is encrypted.
I can't post a link but you can try syncing your outlook with google calendar. search for "sync with Microsoft outlook" on the Google calendar help and you'll find it quickly. a small little software that does magic!

Same with the company I work for so I use Google Calendar sync and it works perfectly.
I did use Companion Link initially, and actually they will even return your money if you decide that you don't need it within 90 days (don't remember exactly) . It is very useful if you sync Tasks, contacts, etc with Outlook, similar to what DM does for BB or Active Sync for WM.
If you want just the calendar then go for the Google Calendar Sync.

Google's calendar sync isn't very good, and is poorly supported. I agree with you regarding Companion Link, and it has worked flawlessly for me since I started using it.
Thanks for sharing your experience CaelanT!
I've heard a lot good things about CompanionLink but can anyone confirm if there is a lag in opening the Deja apps (i.e., DejaContacts, DejaCalendar)?
Since you're not using the native contacts or calendar on your device, can you simply remove these icons from your homescreen and replace them with the CompanionLink DejaContacts?
Well, Google Calendar Sync works perfectly well for me!

We do not use Exchange, but I do use Outlook on my desktop. I use funambol to sync calendar & contacts (inc photos), both ways. It has options to sync files too. You need a client on the PC/laptop running Outlook and an Android client.
It's free so maybe also worth considering.
I want to be able to sync between the Atrix and my PC, without going to Google Calender. I don't trust Google's contacts and calenders since I have read so many issues with them. Plus they are on the net, which means they can be hacked.
I will have to try CompanionLink and Funambol. When I initially set up Google Contacts from my old phone (Tilt) to the Android via Google, they got really scrambled. It was done at the store using their standard automated routine. So now I am real leary of Google's Calender and Contacts.
I tried many of these sync programs. I use tasks and notes, beside contacts and calendar. Just about evey program I found had issues. I finally found VCOrganizer Pro. It is a nice little package. It has it's own contacts, calendar, tasks and notes applications. It syncs with it's own applications and the native Google contacts and calendar applications also if you desire. It will sync with more than one PC and keeps the items seperate. This is great for people who like the seperation. I however like to keep the contacts and calendar in sync on both my personal and work PCs. I contacted Vecal about this and they said this is an improvement they are working on now and should be out soon. Right now, I sync my Atrix with my home PC and use my old Windows Mobile phone to keep my home PC in sync with my work PC, Once Vecal let me sync with both PCs and keep both in sync, it will be perfect.

Exchange Sync unreliable, almost useless

Hey guys
first off, I know all the BS posts i'm going to get so let me head them off right now:
- i'm working and living in exactly the same locations
- i've had Android 2.3.3 on my HD2 and this issue has not occured
- i've used Windows Phone 7 and this issue has not occured
- both my Exchange server configs has NOT changed at all
- i'm working and living in exactly the same locations
OK so, something I personaly have experienced is really poor Exchange sync with this phone. I have contacts sitting on my laptop (Outlook), PC at home (Outlook) and on OWA on my server which are just not coming down to the phone, no matter how many times I reboot. Thing is, and this makes this hard to solve, its only a few of them - in fact, VERY few of them.
I've also noticed Emails are sometimes very slow to appear on the phone from either of my two hosted accounts even though they are both set to push on peak and off peak schedules.
Baseband - I9100XXKDH
Kernal - [email protected]#2
Build - GINGERBREAD.XWKDD
I am new to this Android malarky so it could be something i'm doing (?) or there might be a newer firmware out there by now but, with the strange naming convention I don't really know.
Not sure if anyone else has seen this? Any clues? Any newer firmware?
Thanks in advance!!
Just to summarize
- You can sync alot of the contacts from the server to your phone, but not all.
- Those you can sync, are those consistently working fine (ie if you make any changes to them server-side, are those changes always synced to the phone)?
- The few contacts that cannot be synced, can you see any differences between them and the ones that do sync (the info added to them, certain symbols used, or similar)?
If you edit one of the contacts not synced, and remove all the info from them except for the name "a" and possibly the phone number 012345, does this in any way change the sync behavior?
- If you add a new contact, and give it exactly the same info as one of the unsyncable contacts, does that sync aswell, or does it also not sync to the phone?
- Probably not the case, and I'm not sure about behaviors across several different phone all running 2.3.3, but are your contacts all in the same folder on the server, or have you sorted them into different folders?
- Try adding your Gmail account, or a gmail account, to your phone as a new exchange account, and see if the same unsyncable outlook contacts, if you could possibly export them from your outlook and import them into your Gmail account, also fail when synced from the Google servers.
- try downloading either NitroDesk touchdown or RoadSync from the market, and try adding the same account to either of those and see if the behavior changes. Atleast that will show if the problem is general with the server, or if it seems to be only the stock/samsung exchange client causing this in some way.
Not sure at all what is going on, but some of the above might give some results that are useful.

Sorry, JUST before your post came it I discovered a tick box that corrected everything! Some how I had turned off Sync'ing but yet that still enabled mail!? I honestly couldn't remember how I got there or where it was, sorry
Although that doesn't explain why mail is unreliable....
Thank you for your detailed steps though! I hope they come in useful for someone
I'd imagine the Samsung e-mail app is just an overlay on the native Android client. All my Android phones have worked great with Exchange. If Samsung completely re-wrote the e-mail client and it doesn't work I'll be distraught. I rely on Exchange heavily and think TD sucks because it flattens the databases.
To be fair to it, it does work now ... maybe the tick box I discovered will encourage mail to be a little more prompt
For me it was Unuseable if I could not reliably sync contacts and schedule... which looks like I now can.
...and Tasks, which is an unexpected bonus for me!
I've been impressed with the speed with which the phone handles data, even on non-3G networks. No problems with Exchange either.
All good so far, in fact.
Worth adding a [SOLVED] to the title of the thread?

I know, I'm thrilled. I read somewhere that Samsung really sweated the details on the Exchange app. In addition to tasks, it's supposed to be able to use the company directory and do a calender busy search. There's also Citrix integration and a lot of VPN feautres they've added to the phone. I'm guessing, especially in the U.S., that high-volume corporate accounts are going to be a big audience for the phone which is why Samsung included so many upgraded connectivity features.

Iphone to note, 1st time android user

Just upgraded to the note from iphone 4 (ios 5).
Although the obvious flexibility with android is instantly obvious, I guess there are some workarounds for the other things that the iphone (apps) do beter.
Here are some questions I have, if any experienced android users wouldnt mind answering thanks: -
1) The stock calendar isnt very good, what is the best alternative?
2) Relating to above, any way to sync with outlook calender?
3) Anyway to sync contacts with outlook?
4) How do you set the email to delete from the server (IMAP)?
This linking with gmail and google calendar seems as bad as having to have Itunes installed

Good on you for taking the Android challenge.
I rather like the S-Planner.
Syncing contacts with outlook is possible a number of ways.
If you export a contacts.cvs from Outlook and import it into gmail/contacts, these will then sync with the phone.
There are number of expensive apps for syncing Outlook.
I ditched Outlook when I went to Windows 7 and now use Windows Live on the pc.
BTW, I never use gmail for email, but only to access my Youtube account, and now to sync with google calendar.
It is possible to sync with MS windows Live calendars and contacts too.
You can get a hotmail app for this.
I find syncing to google really easy, much better than MS activesync.
I frequently got duplicates and / or wiped my phone with activesync.
And nothing could be worse than itunes.
Never owned it but have often tried to help others with issues.
It's a trojan piece of #@!*.
Delete emails from the server is in settings for the account.
are you using the stock android calendar or the s planner calendar--they are different and s planner is at least as good imho as iphone calendar from my research
i am making the exact same transition--this week, my note arrives on Tuesday

Ahhhh exciting times, I'll never forget my first Android phone, after years persevering with good old Windows Mobile. Your in for a treat

I've been using Android for just over a year and when I looked for satisfactory sync options for Outlook 2003 - contacts, calendar, notes and tasks - the thing that seemed to fit the bill best at the time was gSyncit - http://www.fieldstonsoftware.com/software/gsyncit3/.
It's paid software with a one time cost rather than an annual charge. In terms of syncing reliably I find it to be very good. Everything goes where it should, both backwards and forwards, and I don't get duplicates or missing entries. I bought a copy for my girlfriend as well when she bought an Android phone a couple of months after me.
There is a problem which has prevailed on and off pretty much since day one, for both of us, and still hits occasionally. That is an inexplicable failure on startup, leading Outlook to want to disable to addon. Usually it can be fixed by closing and restarting Outlook, although sometimes it need three of four attempts before it will play ball. Nowadays the occurrence is fairly low, maybe happening once a fortnight or less, and that's with the software used seven days a week and for most of each day.
Once you have your stuff in the Google cloud, whether you choose to access it there or not, Android takes care of syncing from the cloud to the phone and back again.
There are other possible options including Kies for Samsung owners, or free software such as MyPhone Explorer - http://www.fjsoft.at/en/downloads.php.
What I like about gSyncit is that once set up it sync automatically in the background and is entirely hands off in operation. The other solutions I've seen appear to require a deliberate action to connect hardware together and initiate a sync operation. Regarding the stability issues I've experienced, I've downloaded several upgrades over the year or so I've had it, but those were all for V2. A while ago a V3 was launched, with a small premium for the upgrade. I haven't bothered to upgrade as I find V2 does all that I need, but maybe it fixes that little stability issue my girlfriend and I have experienced.

S planner...
your probably right about the standard iphone calendar but I was used to using "week calendar", the best calendar app ive ever used, Ive been in touch with the Dev and it may come out for android...
Another excellent app I used on the iphone was "notebooks".
This is soon to be out on android and desktop (with dropbox sync). Cant wait for that one, for now I use colour note.
One thing ive found in the last 2 days, the apps for the iphone seem far better.
Ok, ive solved my first problem (calendar) and hopefully make the switch to android easier for some other people...
On the iphone, upgrade to ios5.
Sign up for icloud and get a .me email address.
sync your iphone with icloud.
download the desktop icloud app (syncs to outlook)
(ive been using this for a while now and its 100% reliable so far, you can also ditch itunes for good then)
install "caldav-sync beta" on android phone.
using icloud server details, set up a new sync connection.
the icloud server details can be found here
now you can make a gradual transition from iphone, desktop (outlook) and your android phone while keeping the 3 in sync.
You get 5gb free space on icloud, more than enough for contacts and calendar and the android app is around £1...
To add to this, you can do the same with contacts using "carddav-sync beta".
However im only getting 25 of my 300 contacts synced for some reason. I need to fix that, anyone have any ideas why?

Interesting you say the S-Planner is as good as iphone's calendar.
I really like it.
I would like to customize the colours, but you can't have everything.
Maybe a mod will appear in the Themes section for this.
I hope you have a good experience of the SGNote.
You might find it different, but I hope you enjoy the freedom and power.

Please go easy first time post. I am also looking to go to a note from the iPhone4. One of the only reasons to keep with iPhone is week cal app. I too asked them about an android vesion a few months ago. Week calendar is the best calendar app. I've tried all the others including Jorte etc
Made the Same step from iphone to note and I think the calender are at least equal to iphone (used saisuke, calengoo,...) but due to the fact that I sync everything over Google, it's easier with an android device.
If you need outlook I recommend, as mentioned, gsync, too. Is about 10 bucks per licence and syncs from contacts to tasks everything but slowed down my office 2010...

Guys Guys Guys...
There is an easier way of doing this. For free... I follow this approach & it works like a charm.
1. Download Google Calender Sync from this link: http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=89955
2. Install the program on your laptop/PC. Set it up to sync outlook calendar with your Google Calendar at whatever frequency you want. I have it set to 30 mins. This way, your Google calendar will sync with your Outlook Calendar.
3. On your android phone, setup your calendar to sync with google calendar. This way, all your 3 calendars, Outlook, Google & Phone, will be in sync all the time.
I have never needed to sync my outlook contacts with my phone, so I have never tried that. If I do come across some info on that, I will let you know...

Hi, did you tried out business calendar? it's really brilliant i think. I just looked at screenshot of week calendar app. Looks like the business calendar week view, wich is great i think.
i use it together with a tiny but powerful app, quick addroid, wich lets you add everything in batches.

My main use for my phone is my calendar and notetaking. The S planner maybe as good as the STANDARD iphone calendar but that is pants as well. There is nothing on the android market comes remotely near week calendar I'm afraid.
Same goes for notes as we'll I'm afraid. Nearest you can get to notebooks for iphone is note everything pro. Still way off in function and sync though
As for sync. Use icloud and the desktop app to link to outlook if you need to email directly from office like me.

The problem with this approach is that google calendar sync has issues with not syncing certain formats of appointments from outlook to google cal. I googled it and its a wide spread issue with no easy workaround that I was able to find. I got tired of not having all my calendar items sync and just snagged the gsyncit app.
The whole point is to NOT use Google. My way works perfect and supports all the contact formats, reminders etc.
