Q. How to highlight unread mail (black text on white)? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

I have my background set to white on my mail (as I did on my gs2) but its nearly impossible to spot unread mail. Anyone else having this issue or have a solution (aside from white text on black!)?

I have a solution, change your background color.
No, seriously, I'm aware of differences in preference, but white is a battery-killer color for AMOLED screens. You'll thank me.

Notification blinking green

Hi, I searched the threads and google and saw that someone asked if they could change the flashing green light for a text, email, etc...to like purple or red or any other color. Is there a way to do this? For AIM i changed incoming messages to blink purple, but how about for sms, email, etc... thanks!
you can either download chompsms in the market and change ur sms LED settings there (note that the led change will work only for chompsms)
or
download missed call and change your sms LED settings there.
For SMS messages, you can also download the latest apk mod from rgv151

As far as I'm aware there's no way to make the standard notification colour change, but there are lots of apps out there that allow to switch off the standard notifications and replace them with an app-based notification of your choice.
For example, SMSPopup and Missed call allow you to replace the LED colour to one of your choice (from pre-defined colours) as well as change the frequency of the flashes, and also the type of vibration (e.g. long vibrations, short vibrations or combinations thereof)
I recommend SMSPopup as it will also wake up your screen and display the text message, like the majority of phones do as standard.
thanks for the info.

White on Black Theme for SMS & Email?

I was wondering if there was a way to change the sms & email screens to be white or yellow text on a black background.

[Q] Stock email program and background color

Is there a way to change the stock email program (the list of message part - not the messages themselves as those are fine) from white text on a black background to either the reverse, or some other color combination? I'm finding that, depending on the lighting, it is rather difficult to easily identify read messages from unread messages. If there is no way to change the color combo, perhaps there is a better way to highlight unread messages? Thanks....

From what I can remember, you can change the white background to a yellow-ish background to make it easier to read. Not sure about white on black though.
The white to yellow background is only if you are reading a specific email. There is no way I can find to change the colors of the list of emails. You'll have to probably wait for custom ROM, unless rooting can provide a workaround. I know there are other email apps floating around for other Galaxy devices, but I haven't messed with my Fascinate yet because I'm waiting for a sure fire backup/restore method.

[Q] Hyperlink and Numbers Invisible

One of the Jelly Bean phone, Android version 4.2.2, behaves strangely as follows:
The hyperlinks (URL, phone numbers etc.) is normal blue in Browser, Messaging, Email, even Gmail.
But they are white on white, hence invisible in WhatsApp and BBM for Android.
It is also white in ColorNote, but we can change the background e.g., to be gray, thus make it white on gray that is visible.
What could have been wrong? What can I do to change the hyperlink font color in those applications? It must be a setting for the attribute of the hyperlinks, right? But where? It is also weird, that the links are normal (blue) in Browser, Messaging, Email and Gmail.
Hope the Android experts out there could give me a hint or tweak needed to fix that situation, which will be highly appreciated.
