Daroon Player is an excellent free video player for files, streams and .... DVD ! that's the only player I know doing that.
works well you can't click on links as mouse mode, you need to use a fake remote, but it works

Soo I can just copy the folder from a DVD onto my SD card and play...really?!
Great find...gonna try this out. Thanks!
Should video/sound quality be perfect since there is no conversion?

Yep, or you can plug an external HDD and play lots of dvd. Some dvds refuse to play sounds, quite strange but that was non official ones. As a bonus, the menu seems to capture and show the menu of each dvd

It would be nice if I could hook up an exterbnal dvd drive to the tablet.

Remote media controller and audio streaming

Hello to all of you wonderful folks on XDA!
I have searched high and low for an app like this and was not able to find anything suitable.
First, this is what I am thinking:

The phone acts as a wireless audio receiver for the media playing on the PC (either audio or video) AND as a remote control for the media player (VLC/MPC/WMP/Winamp etc - not just media center)
I have tried remote desktop but it is a flimsy remote even if it has audio playing on the phone and requires concurrent login of the user enabled.
Even just the streaming audio from the PC over WiFi to the phone is a good thing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Search google for RemoteAmp or it's predecessor Signal.
Orb?

I've used it for years and works pretty well.

Netflix on Ouya

I got my Ouya today and figured I'd try to put Netflix on it. I have no idea if this has been done, or how easy its supposed to be, but I was semi-successful, so I figured I'd share.
The audio seems hit or miss, and streaming video quality is atrocious. Obviously, the app itself is pretty difficult to navigate via controller.

Subtitles
What about the subtitles?
I have NetFlix in a MK802 III and the size of the font is damn small to be read in the TV, the Ouya have the same problem?

Click to collapse
I haven't tried with subtitles. Later on this evening I'll look into it for you.

Windows 10 and video viewing

Hi all...
That you know, is there any limitation regarding the video playback software, in Windows 10? With photos, from smartphone to pc, everything is ok; the videos would be ok, if viewed directly from a smartphone; if I play them in Windows Media Player (I have tried other software) the colors are over saturated and the electronic noise exaggerated (I hope the screenshot of the video makes the idea).
Am I missing something about codecs and miscellaneous, or is it a known problem/limit?
Thank you

I realized only now that, viewing videos with the Windows Foto program, there are no problems.
So I guess it's a problem of settings or codecs ... am I wrong?

Suddenly disabled video codec on LG-tv? Cant watch video files! HELP

Until recently, Mkv video files that worked last week are not working today. When I run the thumbnail I get this gray cube (after that the thumbnail is no longer visible).
I usually run those files from an external HDD connected to the TV. I also thought of a hard drive failure, I copied the files to a USB stick and the problem is the same (the visible thumbnail disappears forever after starting the file and a gray cube appears and the TV gives a warning that the file cannot be read), I note that I can properly run the files from the HDD on a PC.
I come to the conclusion that some automatic TV update brought this, what next? Does anyone have a solution or an idea?
Thanks!
