Yes you are using a Froyo ROM, Gingerbread has several advantages over Froyo, one being a better keyboard. Also there is a lot of apps that do not run on Froyo but do on Gingerbread.

hi if i have androied on my phone htc hd2 can i just down load a new rom and install it?

You need to be reading around in the HD2 Android forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=743
Yes, all you need to do is download and install another ROM. There are instructions for installation in whatever ROM you choose to install. There are a lot to choose from.

whats the best one?

Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Neopolitan, Spumoni?
Really, you can't ask that kind of question around here and expect a serious reply. Try Tytung, that was previously recommended to you. Or Hyperdroid, or AmeriCan Android.
Try any or all of them.

hey sorry im new to this dont know the steps to take like i said its an hdc hd2 and i have android on it im happy whit what i have i just wanted to know if the only thing i have to down load is the new rom and install?

Here. I'll pick for you:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895059
my favorite
nexushd2 froyo
best build ever, make sure to get launcher pro and your good
everything works
very stable
nothing great about gingerbread
is there a way i can cyanogen mod on it...cause the thing is, i am using this version right now but it is missing the radio and i love listening to radio.
ive tried a good few of sd builds and NAND ones too and the best build i have used is the MyTouch 4G build by Motoman... he has made NAND and sd builds and as far as everything working smoothly for everyday use his is the best. if you wanted to look at it here is the thread link.

[Q] Need help to port a Gingerbread (2.3.3) ROM to HD2

Hi. I am keen to learn how to port a Gingerbread ROM which I like to HD2 and would appreciate if someone could advice or recommend me the place to start. The closest I found was in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898215 but someone mentioned that it is already outdated as the advice would only work with older android version.
Thanks in advance for all your help.

I am not sure if this is call making an android Rom ... what I want to know is if I see a good gingerbread rom from the HTC desire for example, how can I "cook" it for hd2?
Yeah I think u mean making, cooking a rom for HD2,not flashing it to HD2 ,right?
I think u need to put alot of time to make a good stable rom.that's y I prefer to download one and just flash it and see how it runs

Yes. I am not referring to flashing it but cooking it for hd2. I have already tried a couple of the custom Gingerbread Rom for hd2 but am not entirely satisfied so I decide to cook one for myself based on the other HTC handsets.
Aha I see,I'm using BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA GINGER 2.3.3 RAM_V5 and so far it's great.
ppl also recommend this:
TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 RC2 v2.6.2 [2.3.3][A2SD][tytung r7]
but if u wanna make ur own rom ,if I'm not wrong u can find a Chief program easy to cook a rom for ur desires ,but I'm not 100 percent sure it's an entire rom or just the interface ,I never tried that, have a look at that.
Been using TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 rom on my device this rom updates very quickly

[Q] HD2 HTC Sense

OK, I am extremely confused about getting hold of a NAND ROM for HTC Android 2.1
(or higher) that includes HTC Sense. Is the Desire build the right one for me?
Are there any problems with it?
Where can I get such a ROM?
Is CyanogenMod what I'm looking for?
If so which version do I use?
And Also, where can I get an apropriate radio rom?
Many thanks
Like in the the video bellow
youtube.com/watch?v=vbtwO0VsNy8&feature=related
basically a NAND version is what I am looking for of the one in the video

Radio is in the WinMo6.5 Development forum. The Desire Builds are great. DesireHD builds are good too, just a tad slower. Sense builds tend to be a little more battery hungry than vanilla builds. If you're looking for Sense, CyanogenMod is not for you. All problems with Sense builds are listed at the OP of their respective development threads. Most are 99% working.
The video that you posted is old. We've already moved past that and on to Sense 2.2. Just... read... Seriously. These people put hours and hours and hours into making their builds, and you can't spend a few minutes to read what they write and how to put it on your phone when others have already spend hours experimenting with their phones an writing guides so that the layman can do it? It's insulting to the developers.
2.2 ROM
So what I am looking for is the Desire HD 2.2 ROM?
Do you know where I could find one?
Check this: http://android.hd2roms.com/
Or you could just check out the NAND Development section as we're on XDA were all of them ROM's from that link are probably just copied from here. That's where all the ROM's are lol.
If you can't find it (wouldn't know why you wouldn't be able to but find the Q&A ) here's the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=928
Here's a list of most of the ROM's available for the HD2.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=929324
Which one do you reccomend?
Which one do you reccomend, or do i just get vanilla gingerbread?
I would personally recommend you choose one compatible with your device, Leo 512.

[Q] Getting a New HD2 what first?

So tomorrow I have a brand new HTC HD2 from T-MOUSA arivving brand new. Of course the first thing I wanna do is root it, after I figure out which rom to choose. Before I do that are there some things I should do first right out the box?
1. Using TMO? (if not - unlock)
2. Flash to custom firmware.
3. ... of course, install Android SD and forget about WM

Custom firmware is custom but it is still Windows Mobile (WM). So if you flash a custom ROM you still have WM but just a way more smooth WM ROM.
Flash it with mgldr then clockwork mod then android nand flash. I like tween typhoon rom

Sorry everyone I totally forgot about this thread. Well when I got the phone the SPL or the radio didn't match the prerequisites it needed to match for the rom I wanted (HD2 CoreDroid DHD V1.6). After 36 hours of reading and researching I figured out I needed to flash a stock rom in order to get the prerequisites I needed. After finding the stock rom, on TMOUS website, I installed in it installed the new radio and spl, the same ones I needed. So I followed the guide and installed HardSPL and then MAGLDR then flashed it with HD2 CoreDroid DHD V1.6 and it worked flawlessly. I would highly recommend this rom for the HD2.

Nice ROM choice there! Your HD2 is going to surprise you a lot more than the newer devices and their surface-appealing specs.

Can HD2 run Desire HD stock ROM?

Guys,
I am very new with HTC phone, plan to get a HD2 phone hardware, will not use WM 6.5, want to run Android. I know it can run many custom ROM here.
Just want to know if HD2 can run Desire HD stock ROM?
sorry, if this has been asked before.
Thanks

Hi,
Yes,stock ROMS are available.
Please check here:
http://android.hd2roms.com/
no you cannot just download a desire hd rom and flash it to your hd2, they have to be ported across first so im not sure what the above is saying
the above too advance for me, is there a easy way of doing this, like sony phone come with pc software, few clicks wait and restart, then you got flashed lastest ROM.
cheers

So I'm guessing you've never heard of CWM?
What he's saying is, you can't just download the desire HD's stock rom, and flash it and expect it to work. E.g. if you go to the HTC website and download the latest desire HD rom there, and try to flash it to the HD2, it won't work.
What you have to do is go into our android development forum, either sd or NAND, and look for a desire HD rom there to flash.
This guide well explain all the quirks of the HD2 NAND world.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021837
you should just read the guides on how to flash android and take a look in the android nand section and all your questions would be answered.
if the above is too advanced you should have bought an desire hd cause this site only showed available android roms for hd2 and has nothing to do with flashing.
just a collection sorted by the newest updated build with a link to it's xda thread.
