[Q] E:Can't mount /sdcard - EVO 4G General

I am in need of some help, I recenlty rooted my phone via rEVOlutionary for GB 2.3.3, and now have ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.2, this morning when I tried to do a backup something happened and I was put into a bootloop, i tried wiping the data to see if that helped and of course it didnt, now when i try to boot into recovery and access my Nandroid backups i get the message that says "E:Can't mount /sdcard", Im a noob and have no idea what to do, i have done some research and tried the RUU method but my phone doesnt get recognized by the USB port and i cant complete the RUU method.
I can only access my SD card when i put it into an adapter and view it via my comp, i have reached the end of my rope and really do not want to take my phone to the geek squad as it is s-off and most likely will not be helped as rooting voids warranty, can anyone help me or point me in a direction for a potential fix?

Not sure if this will help but have you tried a different SD card? Maybe the one you're using got corrupted some how or whatever.
If that doesn't help then download this RA-supersonic-v2.3 and place it on the root of your SD card which means don't place it in any folders or anything like that and follow these directions which I pulled from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705026
Boot the phone into the bootloader by powering the phone down, then press the power and the volume down buttons at the same time.
Once the phone boots into the bootloader the phone will automatically recognize the zip file. It will ask if you would like to update, select yes and let it do it's thing and you will be good to go
Once you're in that recovery, see if you can mount usb...that's the only thing I can think of....GOOD LUCK dude!!

thanks for that quick reply, i will try it now and see if it works out...

I was able to run the update and open the .zip while in HBoot, and went into recovery but again received the message that reads "E:Can't mount SD Card", when I go to the SD & Phone Storage section of my EVO settings Menu it does not show the total space avaliable for the SD Card...
I have a 2GB SD Card that lying around that i will try out tomorrow...anymore help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

no luck, the 2GB card didnt work and the 8GB cant be read either, I tried funning the .ZIP but it goes into recovery however i can not run any .ZIP files because the sd card cant mount...

Took it to Best Buy, they are sending me a new one in 3-5 days...now to not repeat this again...

Won't boot into recovery

I can't boot my sprint Hero into recovery mode, it I go through HBoot it just gives me an error screen, what can I do?
So no replies I'll add some info I've come up with
So I rooted my Sprint Hero and everything went fine, but when I try to flash a recovery image it says the file isn't found even though I checked the spelling and if I ls my sdcard it shows up.
More importantly though my phone won't boot into recovery mode via the command prompt or the Hboot screen. It just shows me a picture of an exclamation point and a phone laying down, one time it game me some error
E: can't open/cache/command or something like that.
Please help and let me know of any other info I need to give
i had the same issue ... i think it has something to do with the software version that u are running on the phone .. did u install the new software release from sprint? ... if so it seems u have to downgrade first before u can load in recovery zone .. but doing so wipes out your phone to the day u took it out of the box.. so back up contacts, calendar etc to google sync .. all your apps u will have to install again
go to menu/settings/about and look for software version on the bottom..is it 1.5.xxxx.. ? if so read below
Download
ftp://xda:[email protected]_release.exe
Install HTC Sync - and make sure it does recognize the phone. this is on your sd card under htc sync.. sopy file to pc and click on it... Once that is done, run RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_1.29.651.1_signed_release.exe and agree to the terms and conditions.
This will erase and bring your built # from 1.5.xxxx to 1.29.651.1.
Then follow the "theresthatguy" instructions on link -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583291
do a NANDROID backup 2.2 hightly recommended and once the phone finished/reboot on normal mode, mount the SD and grab the NANDROID folder sitting on your MicroSD card. Keep that handy.
Either the link to the RUU is broken or I don't know what I'm doing but it says server not found and the only other place I can find it is rapidshare and it says there's no more slots, I guess I'll keep trying
Edit: I don't know what the deal is but I got the recovery image flashed and it booted right into recovery mode just fine this morning

[Q] Something went wrong

I formated my sd card from recovery-windows and i got a bootloop when i rebooted it.
No more access to recovery-windows, i took off my sd card, bootloop again, i had to go to recovery with red triangle, pull off battery, disconnect from usb and reboot to make it work.
Factory is reset but no more network even with proper settings, and i can't access the recovery windows without having bootloop all over again. I got a mysterious IMEI SV number now too.
Strange things is the drivers are mad in hboot and recovery now , i got something like this.
I don't understand what went wrong, can someone point me in the right direction to make it work?
is your phone rooted?

Yes, with blay0 0.7 currently on it.
So the network came back after one complete day without it. Don't ask me why.
But i have other major issues:
-SD Card slot not recognize, tested with different SD cards, same result.
-Bootloop when i boot my phone, only way to get around it is to plug it in usb, don't ask me why too.
-Weird Drivers still nuts with HTC DIAG, Qualcomm CDMA Technology not recognize.
I didn't know a simple SD card format from recovery can cause so much trouble :'(
Undoubtly the native drivers from Hboot disappeared, and without sd card nor recovery from PC, i don't know how to bring them back.
Can someone help me please, i don't want to lose it :'(
Okay it's a classic USB Brick sorry for the inconvenience.

[Q] Flashing a partition from SD

Ok so for some reason, I went into USB flasher, it did its usual ...USB, I got all the way to 'Flashing partition 1...' and it froze. I waited 10 minutes, nothing happened. So pulled the battery.
Now, I cannot get it to flash anything by USB. It says USB Flasher...USB but I get time out errors on the recovery DAF.exe and the phone does not change. I also get same on the tri-color screen, says USB but times out in the ROM utility to do a task29.
The positive? I somehow am still able to flash a ROM using AD SD (having the recovery on my SD card works but AD Recovery says failed header or something), even know I saw it say Erase: tons of partition info. So im lucky there.
Question? Anyway someone can make me a CWR file to flash a new AD Recovery partition setup? This way, I can change paritions without the need of USB? (still baffled how this is working when ad recovery doesnt...hmm)
Appreciate any help .

You cannot install rom without clockworkmod recovery. And you were supposed to replace recovery.img, not boot.img.
Now, you need to download this: http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwide/downloadCenter.do?method=toDownloadFile&flay=software&softid=NDQxODE=
That is official android 2.3.5. After download, extract it, and there is a PDF file in there. Open it and follow the instructions inside it very carefully.
ahhh

dude
dude i pressed volume up and down and power on i got a pink screen but :silly: it dosent connect to computer
After you have downloaded the official gingerbread, you need to extract the downloaded file. Go into the extracted folder and find the folder called "dload". Put the whole "dload" folder in the root of your sdcard (just go into sdcard and paste it there). After that, you need to go into pink screen.
To get your sdcard on the computer, you need to use a MicroSD Card reader, or you can borrow someone's smartphone, put your sdcard into thayt phone, and connect it to the computer. Then you can put the "dload" folder in your sdcard.
dosent
dosent work i tried with pink screen it never finishes and drains all my battery but when i copy the file some file called android secure comes tell me how to do it :crying:

don't wory. dload folder is on your external micro sd card. bring out the micro sd card from your phone, and insert it to a sd card reader/writer then, you can write files to sd micro sd card with your pc directry.

Can't "flash"/format with SPFT Alcatel Pop C7

Hi there,
I have a problem. Every time I start up my phone a message pops up stating that process.android.media has stopped. After that every process says it has stopped and the back ground is black. I can use the notification drawer and sometimes I can enter the Settings, but that's about it.
I tried to use SP Flash Tools to reinstall the ROM, but it gives me the error not enough space. I tried formatting it, but it did nothing apparently. It didn't format it, it did show a check of completing the formatting but when I turned on my phone everything was still there black screen, etc.
After I couldn't use "download only" or format on SP Flash Tools, I did the memory test and it said "ERROR: NAND flash not detected". I read somewhere that this means there is something wrong with the hardware.
Am I FUBAR? What should I do next? Throw the phone against the wall and just buy a new one or live with a half broken phone that only has a notification drawer, black background and annoying pop ups?... Or does anyone know something to guide me in the right direction?
Any kind of help is appreciated
EDIT: I can send files through the ADB Sideload function of my TWRP recovery, however I only tried that with an SD card. I don't know if I can send data to the internal storage. It seems to be the only way to send files to my phone (or at least to my SD card). Wiping system or data through that recovery fails though.
