Mine shipped out on the 17th, tracking said it was received from California then at 7PM.

Mine hasn't arrived yet... The tracking site said it was supposed to arrive yesterday, but I don't have the package yet.

Just got the mail for today, and mine still has not arrived. It shipped out on the 17th and tracking said it should be delivered on the 21st, two days ago, but still no sd card. Has anyone received their card yet? Something just does not smell right.

Got mine but it says class 2 on it....
Off to do some benchmarking, whats everyone using for that these days?

Yep, My was also a class 2. Tested and it's definitely not class 6.
I think this is quite a con job from justdeals.
They offered $8 off the card or a refund.
Completely unacceptable. Who else got a class 2?

Class 2... I demanded no less than a full refund... I'm gonna try to get this card for free. You do not scam Redthunda69.
6mb/s test speeds.... Maybe this was a mislabeled batch.

I was ripped off as well with a class 2 card
I contacted customer support and after a couple days they responded claiming the class 2 card must have gotten "mixed up" with the class 6 cards. They have not offered any acceptable solution so far. I will probably need to dispute with Paypal and the BBB.

I'm not sure if I want to make a deal out of it, mine is benchmarking like a 10

Does the Magician support 8Gb memory?

I searched the forum but couldn´t find the answer. I recall that I some time ago read that the Magician supported 4Gb memory card, but i'm not sure.
Does anyone know if the Magician supports 8Gb SD memory? My friend is in Singapore right now and wondering if I would like a 4Gb or a 8Gb card.
Best regards
Anders
never see that big cards in Europe bevore! (i know it's nog in europe)
dunno if the HTC it supports (i only know that it supports 2, 3 GB cards)
det är min vanliga tur!
those exist already? i have only heard of 2 or 3gb as well.
i doubt anyone had a 4gb or 8gb on the magician yet though

Yes. They exist - but not in Sweden (or the rest of Europe or USA, i think). My friend e-mailed me yesterday. He bought a 8Gb SD card for himself.
I called Qtek support in Sweden today. He said that the S100 (Magician) supported 4Gb memory because of the limitations of Windows... He didn´t know about the 8Gb memory cards and neither if they worked at all together with the Magician.

Anders,
Can you please provide a link as to where you have seen a 8GB SD Card as well as the 4GB Models, i know sandisk are working on versions for SD but are not in mass production. There are 8GB CF cards but not SD cards.
I have no link yet. My friend is in Singapore and he's going to buy a memory for me in a store there. I don't think this memory can be bought over the internet... yet. I havn't found it anyway.
I'll post a message as soon I know more!

Sorry for not thinking about writing upper case letters instead of lower case... Of course i'm not talking about Gigabits! As you may know gigabit is mainly reffered to when talking about network connections. Sorry for not writing GB... but I thought all of you understood that I meant GIGABYTES... not GIGABITS!

Of course there are other manufacturers - however Sandisk are the furthest advanced.
As I said, there is no 8GB card, and won't be for at least a year. Feel free to prove me wrong.
there aint no 8gb sd card in singapore right now.. just visited most of the memory stores ... the biggest i've found is 1gb. thats all.

Edit: This seems to be only MMC and RS-MMC?
As far as i know, there are no 3 GB cards available (throughout the world, they sell them globally). 2 GB cards are available for some time (1 or 2 months). MMCs were available a bit earlier I think. The Ultra cards from Sandisk are announced for a long time but I haven't got my order yet (at Amazon for about half a year now). To warn you: They announce a lot (the Sandisk Ultra: November last year!) but they can't produce them.
By the way: They won't ever produce 3 GB cards I guess. Usually they double the capacity step by step (2, 4, 8, 16 etc).
So, sorry to bring you back to earth, but there are no 4 or 8 GB SD-Cards available at the moment.
hmm that's right you can't upgrade the cards the whole time, but maybe they do the same thing Sony does or like the WiFi + 256MB card of SD...only Sandisk has to do it in small cards
even... i don't think that the cards are available this year maybe 2006 or '07 :?

Friends,
I found following in SuperMediaStore:

Use Coupon code: SUPER30 to cut it for $22.95 with free shipping. Is it good?
Edit: My bad, I was just excited to got the link but seems it is regular SD.
Thanks
That link goes to a regular SD card, not MicroSD... a decent price for a class 6 card no doubt, but not useful for raphael
I have not seen MicroSD bigger than 8gb. Do they exist?
Best buy had 16gb in stock in eastgate ohio for 99.99
16gb at Amazon.com is $60ish.
I bought a pair of 4GB marked SD cards from supermediastore, that were only 1GB. They would not take provide RMA, or refund, or send replacement. They kept saying to try them in another computer. On 4 computers and 3 cameras (that all read SDHC) they were 1GB cards.
Not saying that will happen with your purchase, but I'll never purchase from them. Btw, I still get spam email from them after requesting a few times to be removed from their mailing list.

Micro SDHC for HD2 query.

Hi all,
Well in preparation for getting my HD2 from o2 in a couple of weeks i was going to order a micro sd for it. Now im no expert when it comes to memory cards and i know theres different classes. I heard class 6 is the fastest but in all honestly would i notice a big difference between a class 2 and a class 6 card?
Ideally i want a 16GB class 6 card but most sites ive been on either dont list class 6 or basically dont state what class it is.
Any advice on best online retailer to get these cards from? Am i best getting a decent brand like sandisk or Kingston?
Of those options I'd get a Sandisk one, they don't have a Class 6 yet, but its probably worth getting one of their Class 4 ones. I have one that I'm using in my current phone.
A-Data have Class 6 ones, I got one to use in my HD2 (fingers crossed collecting it today or tomorrow at the outside), so I can feedback on how that it is soon.
I buy a 16gb class 6 from Adata
It works fine, 8mb/s on writing.
Ok thanks for the info guys! Much appreciated. Is Adata a reliable brand? I only ask as ive never heard of them!
I hadn't heard of them until earlier this year either. Most reports from people I know with them are positive, thats why I thought I'd try one out this time around.

As said, A-DATA is based in Taiwan and makes memory and flash modules. I work with RIDATA, another corporation based in Taiwan that does pretty much the same thing (the competition for this market in there is fierce!).
Here is the A-DATA SDHC.
A-DATA in Taiwan is kind of like Transcend. You don't have to go out of your way to find stuff from the company, but cause they usually sell hardware through other vendors it does not really get much publicity.

They cost around $2000 - $3000 Taiwan dollars, which is roughly £50 - £60. Probably expect to pay abit more anywhere outside of Taiwan or Japan though, don't know why as soon as they leave the shores of these two places the price doubles (if you know what I mean).

Class 2 will work fine, just slower transfer and read speeds, I had a Class 2 in my Xperia and it was just fine. Haven't read reports of it making a difference on the device, although for high bitrate video it will possibly be the rate limiting step...

There is absolutely no difference whatever between the different classes so long as the card is in the phone - any card can be accessed fast enough that it is the phone which sets the limit on performance rather than the card. Where the class can become significant is if you take the card out of the phone and plug it into some sort of external card reader attached to a desktop PC. If you do that then you can transfer files faster from the PC to the card. If performance in this situation is important, then it may be worth going for a card from a decent manufacturer - Sandisk is a popular choice.
Note that the class of the card refers only to write performance, not read performance, and it's the minimum specification that the card needs to pass, so it's not necessarily an indicator of the actual performance. To be class 2, a card must support a write speed of at least 2MB/s (class 4, 4MB/s, and so on). But a "class 2" card from Sandisk will probably support write speeds of >6MB/s, and may even outperform a no-name card that's labelled as "class 6".
Also beware of cheap memory cards, especially on eBay - many of them are counterfeit. Unfortunately this doesn't usually become obvious until after you've put some data on it and tried to read it back and found that it's corrupt.
See http://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/ - they have a utility you can use to test if a card is counterfeit or not.

That's what happens with my class 2 Sandisk. It even went up to around 8MB/s IIRC.

My co-worker in Yodobashi (デイリーモーション), Akihabara (秋葉原電気街), Tokyo says he's seen a handful of 32GB cards in there. By handful he means like 1 in every 20 shops would have it, and only like 1 or 2 in stock. I think those were the pre-release batches. They carry an insane price tag too. When I go at the end of the year I too will look around for those mythical floating cards! None available in Taiwan per-se. If I get it I will post images of its total awesomeness!
Here is a site claiming you can pre-order the 32GB microSD.
An announcement that Sandisk will release a 32GB card, posted around Febuary 2009.
And this should solve all your storage needs, ever:

Does anyone know if the unlocked USA 850/1900 3G version that will work on AT&T will have a 16GB or 32GB version like it's UK cousin..?
Any word on if the 3g and or wifi models include GPS? I'll be interested in the wifi only model only if there's built in GPS.

Why do people never use the search function? An ACTUAL factsheet can be found here: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_p1000_galaxy_tab-3370.php
Also, it doesn't come with any external memory. You get 2gb internal nand and 16gb internal sd flash.

Well, it IS alittle confusing as the unlocked EURO version have the specs labeled on Samsung's home page different than the US carrier branded models. Leave you to beleive it's 16 internal for app install. Some sites even list it as 16 or 32gb for app install.
UK Site for UK version with 900/2100 bands:
http://www.samsung.com/uk/galaxytab/?pid=uk_subbanner1_galaxy_tab_29102010
US carrier versions (Sprint):
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab/SPH-P100ZKASPR-features
US Carrier version (T-Mobile):
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab/SGH-T849ZKATMB-features
Funny how the T-Mobile specs for memory kinda mirror the UK version. Maybe there is a difference with the way it handles memory for the GSM version compared to the CDMA versions as the Verizon version is simular to the Sprint one in memory specs. Can someone with a Galaxy Tab (UK version) confirmhow much space they have (internal) for app install..?

What is wrong with you people? Lets try this in baby steps...
ALL TABS HAVE TWO KINDS OF *INTERNAL* STORAGE. 2gb of nand and either 16 or 32gb of sd flash.
THEY ALSO HAVE AN SD CARD SLOT THAT SUPPORTS *EXTERNAL* STORAGE OF UP TO 32gb.
Maybe I should repeat this a third time... it seems everyone is having trouble reading the smaller letters.
Sprint's will be out Nov. 14th

THEY ALSO HAVE AN SD CARD SLOT THAT SUPPORTS *EXTERNAL* STORAGE OF UP TO 32gb.
Maybe I should repeat this a third time... it seems everyone is having trouble reading the smaller letters.

So 2gb of internal space then?
Couldnt resist.

Take easy man... Your getting worked up for no reason... I know it's expandable.. You did not make it very clear in your post + the specs are labeled different for your model vs. the US versions which are not out yet. Just trying to clear some things up. Breath in some air, go get a drink and just relax!

Why do people never use the search function? An ACTUAL factsheet can be found here: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_p1000_galaxy_tab-3370.php
Also, it doesn't come with any external memory. You get 2gb internal nand and 16gb internal sd flash.

What's clear, the sarcasm..? I honestly didn't see you were a tab owner... And you are obviously not an owner of the US model... Next time you put out a reply like you did, act like an adult. I see you have alot to offer the community with your HANDS-ON experience but the sarcasm we can do without.
Sure you can. Me, I just like telling people what to think. In an age of Google one would think people would have learned to read. Alas, that is not so.
I asked a simple question based off fact sheets from the different versions of the tab and wanted to know why it showed a difference as maybe there was a difference in the way it allocated space which I was right as it does and the Sprint one does NOT have the 16GB on-board wheres the Unlocked versions does. The answer I get is from a sarcastic child that thinks he knows everything! Really, I think I am further along in my life than you sir by many many miles.... DEVS, can we get something done here or what?! It's pretty obvious based off the time I've been here vs yours. I've done NOTHING to disrespect you and yet, this is the answer I get... That of a child...

Clearly wrong when you read this review on the Sprint version as it has NO 16GB "INTERNAL" memory and depends on the SD card memory as you can see on the Engadget review of the Sprint Galaxy tab here: http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/01/samsung-galaxy-tab-review/
Quote from review: "We should mention here that the Galaxy Tab requires you have a micro SD card inserted to use the camera, so it's a good thing Sprint tosses in a 16GB card. Oddly, we couldn't save anything to the 2GB of internal memory or access it when mounted to our Mac or PC. (If you're interested in the European version, our UK review unit has 16GB of internal storage, which is accessible when mounted.)"

No its not. He said 2 kinds OF INTERNAL STORAGE storage which the unlocked version DOES have. The 2GB internal and the 16 or 32GB internal SD. The US versions for atleast Sprint and Verizon do NOT have this internal sd 16GB or 32GB storage and they only have the 2GB internal and expanadble 16/32GB. I beleive the T-Mobile version will follow the layout of the unlocked ones in tradition of the GSM version vs the CDMA which is without. This is what I was wondering as I saw the specs released for the US versions following the UK and unlocked.

32G or 16G+16G card?

My sister is ( finally ) getting me a Note as a bday+Christmas present.
She stopped at several stores and they told her they only stock the 16G.
The reason is that nobody is buying the 32G. If they want 32G they are buying the 16G and a 16G microSD card, since it is cheaper.
To me it seems to be a nobrainer to get the 32G ( buy as much as you can ) so I'm a bit surprised that people are thinking that way.
Which is the better approach? Ok I know that with 32G you always get 16G more. but aside from that. ( I hope you understand what I'm saying here. )
16gb version is better.. look at the math..
16gb note 10.1 - $500
32gb note 10.1 - $550
16gb micro sd - $14

32gb micro sd - $23

I must say that I posted on xda--developers instead of some other forum because I expect a more intelligent answer. This is an answer that is worthy of a cnet forum or something like androidforums.com.
Your answer is correct only if two conditions are true. The quality of the memory on the card is the same as the quality of the internal memory. If it's less, then you have to go with more expensive higher quality cards which gainsays your whole argument.
The second condition is that to a user has the same "experience"[1] using a 32G tablet and a 16G tablet +16G card. If there are differences in the experience then people will find one or the other better to use.
It is the second condition that my question was addressing.
[1] Sorry to all readers, I really hate that word when used to talk about computer use, but can you show me another which works as well here?
Space is space.. why pay $50 more for 16gb when u could have 64gb.. its a tablet not a computer.. you will not need a high class card unless you plan of some 1080 video recording or some blu-ray movie watching.. Most cards on the Market except cheap china memory cards will get the job done.. space is more important than speed when using a mobile device... I gave you my opinion and if its not what u looking for than what are you looking for? 16gb is enough space for games and apps.. Use your sd card slot for music and movies
For what I use my tablet for, I have not found a difference in "experience" when retrieving files from my external micro sd compared to my internal sd. That is, from low quality videos to pdfs, I have not found any decrease in performance comparing the two different sources. In addition, I actually use dropbox and google drive a lot more now, just because it came with 50gb in dropbox, and I store a lot of documents in drive because I was getting annoyed at retrieving them from tablet to desktop to phone for a quick reference.
I am using a 16gb tablet + a 32 gb card (Sandisk.. I think it's class 4 or class 6).
Basically, what I would say is that a 32gb tablet is always better if you don't mind throwing in extra money because you never know when you might want that extra 16gb. However, it isn't necessary if you have a good wifi connection in locations you normally use it (for example, my apartment has great wifi, and my university has great..ish wifi), or if you don't have a bajillion ultimate HD videos to store on your device. In any case, I got a 16gb because there isn't a wifi 32gb white version. I mean, who in their right mind would pick the gray ?

I'm sorry, but I am not justg talking about the experience when "retrieving files". For example the "memory"[1] is used during booting. It's used for swap. It's used to store applications and configuration files. With some of the things it is probably not important. The thing is that I am not that familiar with android and if I was I would already know the answer and not have to ask. (Sorry forgot to add this in the original version. ) One way to think of this question is: is there a circumstance where the tab is likely to say ( with the 16G and not the 32G ): "I'm sorry SDave. I can't do that because you've run out of internal memory. I don't care that you have an external 500G HD attachded. I can only do that with internal memory." [2]
Put another way, if I were told by a friend that he was buying a desktop which came with an unremovable hard drive and only one slot/port to which he could add a second hard, and if that friend then asked how big of an internal hard drivwe should he get. I would probably answer get as big as your circumstances allow. But is that the same answer for an android tablet?.
In any case, I got a 16gb because there isn't a wifi 32gb white version. I mean, who in their right mind would pick the gray ?

[1] Again a stupid word. It's a hard drive, or rather a SSD not really "memory".
[2] OK. It's late and I am getting a bit loopy but you get the question.
It's very clear the OP Is looking for a convincing answer to persaude his sister into buying him the 32 GB.
As others here have correctly explained, besides more storage, which could be had cheaper in form of SD Cards, there is very little technical advantage to the 32GB.
Ask yourself what answer you'd be looking for if it you were getting it with Your own money.
Be grateful, you will be happier.
Way I see it is this. You want a Note 10.1, You ain't paying for it, get the one your sister can afford. If money is NO problem get the 32gb note3g. If money is tight, get the 16gb and get a 32gb card.
Technically the ONLY difference between wifi devices is the storage.
IF I were to buy another note I would get the 32 Gig 3g one, purely and simply due to portability (I don't like tethering when out and about, drains phone battery too quickly). Colour wise, I don't have a preference. But since the white one would be going to my OH I would probably get a grey to differentiate.
All right. So, my point was that I didn't encounter any trouble with my 16gb one based on my location and uses as listed, and I've never had such "I'm sorry, Dave, I cannot allow you to do that" moments on my previous tablet which was also a 16gb + 32gb microsd chip.
Again, for my personal uses, I've never found a need for more than 16gb (I've always had about 5-10gb free if I clear my download folders after I transfer files). So, yes, it does sound like you want some excuse for the extra 16gb. If that is the case, then just think of it as a just-in-case-you-need-more-than 16+64gb of storage and online storage isn't an option.
As for you calling it Apple-white..

, tell me, sir, what color pray tell is that!? THAT IS RIGHT! Apple-gray! Just like the evil 32gb wifi note tablet! (Actually, the reason why I like white for this tablet is because it is a plastic build and shiny white doesn't look bad compared to a plastic shiny gray to me. However, when I saw the gray one in store, it actually wasn't as bad as the pictures look..)

1) My sister has already agreed to get me the 32G model.
2) I've offered to pay her the difference. She doesn't want it.
3) I've tried to explain why I want the 32G. several times. She says that she doesn't care. The last few times she started getting huffy about it. So I stopped trying to explain. Hey I'm a geek that knows when to tone down the geekiness.
The thing is that my sister has stopped at several stores, and they all told her they stopped stocking the 32G because no one wanted it and they gave her the 16G+16G card story. I later called several stores and they told me they only had the 16G in stock but didn't give me the story.
She is averse to buying things online, but said she will special order it. I assured her that I wasn't in that great a hurry. So every thing is hunky dunky.

What every one is trying to say is....if money is no concern then get the 32gb model, obviously it is better to have more internal storage coupled with a decent card. And that if money is a concern, then it would be cheaper to buy the 16gb model and get a 16 or 32gb card. Essentially with the 32gb model you are paying 50 more for the extra 16gb, whereas a 16gb card is only 20.
I've had the 16gb version since end of November, installed loads of apps and still have 8gb left.....and I don't even have a memory card yet.
So.....money no object get the 32gb.
Money matters.....get 16gb + 16 or 32gb card.

The thing is not the money. The thing is that she hates online shopping and the clerks at the BestBuys, Walmarts etc told her they don't stock 32G ( not sure they were telling the truth though--when I called one they told me they stocked them but were out ). They siad it was because everyone was buying the !^G+ 16G card. They implied that that was a better way to go because it was cheaper.
This runs contrary to my instinct. If a friend told me he could buy a computer with a !T drive or one with a 500G drive and he could by an extra 500G drive, I would tell him to buy the 1T computer even if the other one was cheaper. ( Unless it was like well $250 cheaper or something like that. ) My understanding is that this logic is even more compelling for tablets. So I might be misunderstanding something, and I thought I would ask here, to clarify my insight.

Well I would refuse the 3g part because I refuse gto carry any kind of cell phone .
The color I was just joking about.
Nobody has yet picked up on the most basic of issues... Sigh...
The external SD card CANNOT be used for applications and in most cases "game data".
It can only be used for storage of media files and for archival purposes, such as backups. You CANNOT move any applications to it unless you are prepared to root the tablet and make significant changes to the way it works.
Go for the 32GB if you can get hold of it and she can afford it. Amazon UK sell the 32GB version but only in the WiFi version, not the 3G version.

Let me try to differ politely. This is not what txtmikhail, klau1 and asdfuogh ( though asdfuogh has not said it as forcefully as the other two ) have said. They have said that there is no significant difference between the 32G and 16G+16G card so the a6+a6 way is always better because it is cheaper.
This is also what some store clerks were implying.
My understanding is closer to what you said, buy the biggest model that you can afford.
That is why i posted, because I was not sure whether the clerks were lying or my understanding was wrong.

On first point be thankful of a very nice sister
On point 2, there are NO technical differences. They are exactly the same tablet, just with more storage. Hope this clears it up.
As some will say, it depends on what you use it for. Gaming will eat up 16gig quickly. However, always remember to clear the cache for apps often. I freed up just under a gig by clearing the cache earlier. Apps like Google plus and Currents are cache hogs. Over 300mb between them.
Enjoy your new tab :good:
I have the 32GB. I'm hardly a power user and I only have 11GB free of main memory. Obviously the 16GB would never have been enough for me. I have all my backups, music and video on the SD card, so none of that space is taken up with those. I suspect it's mostly extra game data from Gameloft and EA games that are installed.
So much debate over something so simple. Color me impressed! Internal storage is faster than external (SD card) storage. If you plan to load a lot of high end games and such (eg Bard's Tale alone is 3.5GB...throw in some Modern Combat and a couple others and you're done), you'll want the 32GB model. IN ADDITION, if you want greater overall storage then a 32GB gives you the potential of 96GB when paired with a 64GB card.
There really isn't much more to it than that.
