If it's not rooted, is it partly rooted or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
It's not the SPL that has root, it's the rom you are using ... so we can't tell from the fastboot information you posted. Most rooted roms have the superuser app installed .. do you have that?
If not you could try searching for 'root' in the market, and download an app that requires root (like PicMe). If it works, then you have root!
I wasn't as lucky as i were hoping for, unfortunatly it has not been rooted.
Do i have a "Perfect SPL"? If so, should i just drop trying to get the MyHERO ROM installed?
i have a perfect spl and installed myhero on my mytouch no problems.

What resources did you use?
I'd be really happy if you could provide some links or something
To root that having that SPL, you will have to use goldcard method...
what? i rooted useing cyanogen's tutorial with flashrec, and I just flashed the myhero rom after wiping in recovery... same as normal..
my SPL is the .0006 perfect one
oh and also my magic is 32B mytouch
Is the only way to get a HERO ROM on this phone using a goldcard? Or is it possible to flash a new SPL and use a custom rom without a goldcard?

There's no need to use a Goldcard, even with a perfect SPL, if you just want to flash a new ROM and gain root. If you want to use fastboot at all, then yes, you must flash a new "imperfect" SPL.
Follow Cyanogen's guide here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_MT3G/Magic_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod
Pixelkid, I also have a danish Magic and had the same SPL a few weeks back. I used the goldcard trick from this guide. Why don't you want to use a goldcard?

Use any of the rooting methods you see, follow the step where they downgrade to 1.5 and install the patches and recovery. At this point you stand rooted.
Do not flash a new rom and you are good to go.

[Q] [Help]Htc Legend 2.2 Root

Hello. Yesterday i rooted my Htc legend. And now i'm trying the same with my friends'phone.
We booth have a Htc Legend with HBOOT 1.00-0000 and Froyo 3.14.177.1 installed. Now my Phone is rooted and it doesn't work for the other phone.
My steps:
1. Create Goldcard
2. use "crackin.sh" from the hack4legendv5.zip (it failed: c---rw---)
3. try to downgrade with RUU (bootloader-version failer)
4. Then i tried this method:theunlockr.com/2010/06/07/how-to-root-the-htc-legend/
5. Install rom-manager
6. reboot in clockwork recovery
For me it worked, but on the other phone i get the same erros but i stuck but if i try to run flash the "testimage.zip" in fastboot to the phone i got the error "main-version check failed"
thank you for help

I made a guide for rooting the HTC Legend H-BOOT 1.00.000 if you need it it. Go to www.chirag.co.uk
It's under the guides section.

Thanks for the answers.
In brief if i want a rooted 2.2 i have to downgrade to 2.1 for to do the rooting procedure and then if i want i can reflash a pre-rooted 2.2.
Clear

Need some help

Ok, my wildfire has hboot 1.01.0001 and it got S-OFF via the XTC Clip....anyway, unrevoked (latest version ive downloaded from the enurevoked site) still cant root the phone (i keep on getting the "is your firmware to new" message over and over).
What to do to get it rooted now?
What I did was to install an older ruu from the shipped rom website. After you did install it you should be able to use unrevoked.
Success

i found this link here:
forums.phone-tools.cn/showthread.php/31659-Hboot-1.01.001-Unlock-And-Rooting
the clockwork from the file PC49IMG.zip installed successfully
however, it says it cant find the update.zip on the sdcard (and the file is present)

Which one, there are kinda many out there?
Why make it difficult for yourself put an older ruu and then use unrevoked. It's a little more work but if you are not sure what you do then it is the best way.

The method posted at:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000367
worked, rooted now )))))
getting S-OFF in your device is what u need to root froyo wildfire. once u have got S-OFF, u can root wildfire in two ways
1.noobs guide to root wildfire froyo official
2.flashing an older android 2.1 rom update utility, so that u can root with unrevoked software.
regarding the process of noobs guide, u can search here in the wildfire xda forum to know the process. it uses super one click method to root the phone.
and regarding the second process, im describing it here.
once u have got S-OFF in your device, then it is possible to downgrade your bootloader. only do this with official ROM UPDATE UTILITY. donot do it with any other process. go to the website
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buzz/
there download ur region rom exe file. the most important thing is to download a android 2.1 rom. donot download the froyo rom. then make the ROM UPDATE UTILITY. at the end of that process u will get an official 2.1 on ur device with downgraded bootloader (0.80). then root ur phone with an updated version of unrevoked. thats all.
i dont know whether S-OFF persists after the official RUU.

[Q] Android 2.2 on MAGIC 32B

Hi guys,
I'm really desperate because since weeks I'm searching for a Step-By-Step tutorial with links to the needed files to flash a current cyanogen rom (6.x) to a friends HTC Magic 32b (german vodafone rom)
I think this is the information you need:
Sapphire PVT 32b SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT - 1.33.0007 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-10
Radio-2.22.19.261

The current os-version is 1.6
Could anyone PLEASE help me and tell me what to do? In any tutorial I found before, there's something I don't understand or doesn't work with my configuration or a broken link.
Regards
A planless man
Maybe a link to the rom u are trying to install? What u have done thus far? Are u rooted? Ect.
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA Premium App
Thank you for your fast answer.
It's not rooted, and I don't look for a special rom - but it should be a cyanogen 6.x
My problem is, that there's something in each tutorial I find, that I don't understand or is missing.
I so I don't start with it because I don't want to brick the Magic.
Maybe you know a "complete" tutorial and give me the link - I'll check it and we could discuss the point that are not clear.
Look at my guide..check my signature...
It should be all you need to root and get custom recovery.
The rest is rather simple and there are like 1000 guides on it..
Check out his guide and post your questions/concerns and ill try to help. At least by tomorrow night I'll be home with my PC
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA Premium App
OK - so far so good.
What I understand is, that I have to do Step 1,2,3,4,5 and 7.
Now I want to flash this image: http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/dream/update-cm-6.1.0-DS-signed.zip
After that I want to flash the tiny google tools:
http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/gapps/gapps-mdpi-tiny-20101020-signed.zip
What I would do now is:
1. Copy both files to sdcard
2. Start magic with power + volume down
3. Perform Full sweep
4. Apply update-cm-6.1.0-DS-signed.zip
5. Apply gapps-mdpi-tiny-20101020-signed.zip
Is that correct or am I wrong again?
Did u do the steps to gain root? Meaning u are rooted and have a custom recovery? What recovery do u have? What radio/hboot do u have now? What do u mean by full sweep? Volume down and power is fastboot mode not recovery mode right? Do u have sdk set up on your PC?
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA Premium App
I didn't do anything - at the moment I try to understand.
I followed the Link Magic: 4 easy steps ROOT guide in mumilover's signature.
OK fastboot was wrong, I meant recovery mode
A SDK is not needed as far as I understood mumilover
Ok. U are correct. I read it. Couldn't see his sign from xda app on my phone. I would flash the engineering spl too. Just me. But yes. Do all that and u will be good to go. Before u go flashing cm and gapps make a nandroid backup from recovery first. Then wipe everything from recovery and flash away
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA Premium App
OK, I'll try all that this weekend and hope it works.
Thank you mumilover, Thank you johnson8cyl.
I'll post the result in this thread
Great !!!!!!
I tried yesterday evening and it worked.
I didn't flash cyanogen 6.1 because the zip-file was corrupt - but I switched to SuperFroyo and it runs and runs and runs ....
Again: Thank you for your great support!
