[ROM][2.3.5][Orange Romania] - Galaxy S II General

Salut. Today I recieved 2.3.5 on my sgs2. Does somebody know what's new...comparing to the previous 2.3.3?
Correction...it's 2.3.5

Any improvements? Wifi?

can you tell me what version do you have?

and what was the original firmware version from what you received the update...because i forgot the original that i have previous instaled.
thanks

it KH1.
look here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928

strange....it said...my software cannot be upgraded trough kies...and i just instaled the KH1. Do i need also the kernel from kh1 for a kies update?
EDIT: yes , the kernel is needed..just updated to official kj4
EDIT2: after update...i didn't like it much, and just restore my nadroid backup (vr3.0 KI4,syiah2.1.1)...unfortunately, my baseband remain I9100BVKJ4. Maybe with this baseband, the usb jig exploit will not work anymore ...i will test it tomorrow at work

It's version KJ4.
the update came via kies.

BVKJ4 is the latest. It's in the carrier firmware thread for those that prefer Odin.

This update contains new bootloader so you'll need to flash the old bootloader to use jig, old one can be found on here i just can't remember where at the moment

I allways have backups, and sbl collection..so this it will not be a problem.
But allways, when you start the phone with the new firmware, you have a feeling if is better or not...and i didn't have any of those with this BVKJ4

Hi, does it contain signal boost?

HI
I Have a Orange UK handset and i have just had the 2.3.5 Update via KIES
It is now gingerbread BVKJ4
Signal Boost is on my handset

Just wanna know which kernel i should use to root sg2 (BVKJ4)?

hardcore's works great for me.

Can someone upload / link the modem from this ROM?

Also got my 2.3.5 last night on O2 UK
Good times

I am not sure waht you mean - i am trying to root my hanset and want to get it right. Is there any way yoiu could send me a link to correct kernel?
Many thanks in advance

What i find strange is that i have an unbranded handset from CPW and no update received. I am not that fussed really...except for the fact that when i updated to 2.3.4 my wifi got screwed so i am hoping for a fix.

Not kies. There's a page popup that says upgrade will wipe data blah blah. Have to check agree to proceed. But it did not say name of fw. Will upload screen shot when I get home tonight
I did not get that... What is your kies version. Kies is really nonsense to begin with.

Singapore, SingTel, DXJG4, Kies 10093_81, No update available.
Okay, below is what I see when I click on the upgrade firmware button. As you can see, it didn't state what's the name or version of the FW. I really dun want to upgrade if it's not froyo as I am very happy with my current JG4. If anyone in Singapore (Singtel) tried, please let me know what FW is it.

The screenshot doesn't reveal anything about the firmware. You have to proceed to where it shows your current firmware and the firmware it wants to upgrade to. Don't worry, you won't upgrade the firmware untill you tell it to on that screen.
Regards
Apologies all. When I clicked upgrade, it goes on to tell me I already have the latest firmware ... BTW, I have never seen that screen before. Previously it will straightaway take me to the screen that shows the FW version. Really pai seh..

Just finished installation of this firmware.
First noticeable difference is that baseband version is different from previous versions, i think different from JPM too...
Will try this firm for a day or more and will post the comments.

free firmware with chinese as default language
I flashed this yesterday, after having bvjp9 for a while. I like it and it certainly feels faster. UK English was default language for me, although, i had to change the keyboard from Chinese to Samsung. No issues thus far, and little bloatware.

it wont work from JPM. You need to rollback to DDJG6 and then update to this one....
Also remove boot.bin and sh.bin from package to avoid bricking
i notice this ,Taiwan ver is ZFJPF is Provider firmware
have Q MARKET and some useless software inside
this ver I5801ZHJPF is me update from kies ZHJH1 "street buy ver"
it have a "windows live msg" is only work on hongkong 3G network(wifi is not work)
Been using this ROM since morning. So far so good. Below is my observation:
1. Battery bug is there. When battery goes down, restart phone and it is good again
2. GPS is same as JPM. Got sattelite connection in under 10 seconds
3. I dnt know but looks like its me with the popping sound. Majorly happens when i am using headphones and screen goes Blank. Wake up the phone and it pops
4. Media Scanning takes longer than JPM

The version I used was ZHJPF, downloaded from another post, using medifire, before this was released by Samfirmware, and there are no erroneous apps present.
I am now able to browse the internet using HSPDA, previously only 3G was available to me using JP9. Perhaps my GiffGaff signal has improved, but it seems coincidental.
It is most definitely faster, than JP9, and, I will be keeping a close watch on battery life. WiFi and GPS are also working well. I am now rooted, and my Live Wallpapers are running smoothly.
I wanted to keep my 5801 identity, and until we get something decent in Europe, I would recommend this firmware, as a good Froyo base.

Hi Guys,
I am facing problem re-upgrading to this ROM. Due to certain reason i had to install JPM. Afterwards i rolled back to DDJG6 and updated to this one but stuck at Samsung Logo.
Tried removing cache, factory reset but unable to upgrade to this one...

The Baseband version for this is I5801ZHJP3; not sure that helps you, but when I flashed initially, I went from JP9, and did not factory reset, and it worked just fine as an upgrade. I tried it, liked it and then reset and clean flashed.
Samfirmware twittered Froyo by the end of April for Galaxy 3, so our best bet is to try and use what we can for now.

KF3 now online @samfirmware.com

As the title says just spotted this on twitter, now who is going to try this first!

When people start flashing their phones I am sure one of them will answer your question.
Can I use odin to flash this over the top of stock KE7 XEU?
Will this new firmware change my CSC code?
Thanks.
Is this later than KF4 and will it wipe the phone data?
Today was my first proper day using KF4 and I've watched videos; listened to music, done texts and emails and got info through H on various apps and after 11.5 hrs I'm still on 51% which is the best so far so I'm interested to see if KF3 makes a difference.
Date-wise, KF2 is actually a newer release than KF4, and people are reporting fantastic battery life with KF2.
Kf3 is the europe version im pretty sure samfirmware commented in a thread earlyier saying so

Agree with the above. LB2 is the latest, according to the numbering/naming scheme.
this LA1 is latest for europe
If you have LB1/2, i dont think you need to update, unless you have any problem perticularly in Modem.
b'coz PDA remains same for almost country, some country needs own baseband for better tuning. If you are not satified with modem, you can just update modem rather thn full ROM too.
When LB2 was not out for india, i was using LA4 from germany, i was experiencing call drop, so forced to use modem from old indian ROM.

just saw the update via Kies...will be updating a bit later.....anyone can list the advantages?
Tried looking for it via OTA, did not find it. Connected via Kies, and did find this upgrade.
All went smoothly - despite using a Mac and running Windows Kies under Parallels. I hope that reassures anyone who was wondering if that route would work - it does, and the note is now running well with XEU LA1.
Comes on faster, launching seems quick and and Go Launcher EX seems smoother.
