What do you guys think is the Note worth importing to the US? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

What are your opinions on the note guys?
To get it, I'd have to restock my GSII for an Iphone 4s-16gb.
$200+$35 for $600+ profit
Then buy it for $800.
So basicly, I'm spending $435 for the Note, is it worth it? I don't want to wait for the US version because it's probably going to be worse.... plus the LTE radio on it is gonna mess up the battery life. And.. we have to probably wait like another 7 months.

I wish I had a phone to sell to compensate for my cost + duty. The US one probably wont be out for 4-6 months. I think it's worth it for this amazing device!

This is almost exactly what I am doing, but instead I will get the White 32gb iPhone 4S for maximum profitability, and I'll be ordering from mobilecityonline since they're in State and $100 cheaper then most conversions I've done.

I'm going to wait. Price will drop by a couple of hundred bucks, and all the early buyers will figure out all the glitches. More roms will be developed by then, and more accessories will be available for the phone.

It is worth it.

One big caveat I had about the note was the lack of NFC, and it seems like the American variant will also lack it (according to FCC documentation), so for me there is no real reason to wait other than price fluctuation.

Form me this device is a tool for bussiness and is what i need thats the reason i have one now

Buy it! I paid more than $435

That's what I'm thinking, too, though it's very tempting...

I am just waiting to see if Sammy will release one with T-Mobile 3g/4g support.
If they add NFC to the mix, that's a big winner for me

Why did I spend so much money on this phone again? I remember with my iPhones they retained their value, this is a HUGE degradation in a matter of months? I guess I won't be able to sell this phone when I'm ready to upgrade.

You do realise there's a HUGE difference between an iPhone and... well... any other phone, right? People flock to iPhones like gnats to a sweaty forehead. And not even just the US. Hell, i sold my iPhone 4 that i had since they came out to someone in Russia for $450. That was enough to cover the cost of the iPhone when i originally bought it, PLUS the Atrix. I've only ever seen one person NOT in an AT&T store that had an Atrix. Just about every smartphone you see on the street is some version of the iPhone. And with the 3GS now being $49.... I'd imagine that ratio will be even higher. People don't know how to find a good phone. They know what is crammed down their throat no matter where they turn... and that just happens to be any Apple product, really.
Hell... look on TV. You see at least 5 iPhone commercials for every single Atrix commercial... and they advertise the lapdock more than the phone itself it seems.

But yea... even if you did go elsewhere and tried to get them to price match, they'd probably see that it's for new customers only. I mean... they usually say that right around the price somewhere.... somewhere that's not easy to miss.

Dunno, they still seem to go for a fairly nice sum of money. I'd imagine it would still be rather nice a bit from now, especially being a dual core.

Yes. Check their website for the exact amount.
BTW, they give this phone for free in Europe with contract.

Already Pre-Oredered my Galaxy Note II GT-N7100

I placed my pre-order for my Galaxy Note II at MobileCityOnline already. It's the same price I paid for my GT-N7000 last October and from the same source. So far they're the only vendor I found (from my search of the web) even offering/accepting pre-orders for the Note II.
They've always been a great place to buy anything mobile. This will be my 4th phone from them and they really are incredible. You get good prices, great service, and most of all - fast & FREE shipping plus I don't get stuck with all those BS taxes that would've been added on if I bought from a nearby B&M store. I've never had a problem with them, ever.
I'm not trying to sound like a commercial and NO I don't work for them, I don't work at all, but they're the real deal. The only thing that sucks are the price drops after a few months but that's what goes with being an early adopter. After almost a year the GT-N7000 is still commanding $550 which really isn't bad, it's buying accessories that suck. I'm sticking with just the necessary items this time like just one case, screen protectors, and maybe spare battery.
If anyone finds a better deal please share and pass it on in here so we ALL can take advantage of the deal and save some cash.
Almost a grand a year on a smartphone is crazy - not including the phone and data services - is getting old FAST! I'm sticking with this 5.5", Exynos Quad-Core for a while despite getting the same GPU with it. This beast should handle anything I intend on using it for.
***Update***
I'm here now to officaially eat crow - after having been told story after story I have decided to go with Handtec simply because the good nature another member - you know who you are - I even have my FedEx tracking number. Come Tuesday I'll be smokin' on my GT-N7100 after all!
For how much will they have it?
I want one too, but I need to sell my Note 1 first.
Can't justify that to the wife.
They're asking $699 FREE shipping, NO TAXES, and your card isn't charged until it leaves MobileCityOnline's warehouse. Really at this point you can't lose since most vendors price gouge ANYONE who ever pre=orders!
Good luck selling your GT-N7000. I'm handing mine down to wife who's still stuck on an Sprint EVO 4G. Happy hunting and good luck - if you find a better deal could you please share it here
I'm no John D. Rockefeller, but, I can tell you this, if you find it less at some other vendor do your homework before you buy from anyone!

I'm not even sure there are confirmed specs yet, lol. What is the advantage to ordering it this early?
That having been said, I don't think he's trying to sell it, he's just ordered this way in the past and hasn't regretted it, so I'm sure he won't this time.
It seems as though the AT&T version should be out fairly soon (like with the SGS 3), and the specs might actually be as good or better, so I'm gonna try to wait for the subsidized version. Especially since I can probably sell this one for as much as AT&T will be asking for the new one.

The advantage is, if you decide you want it, you'll be first in line to get one.
And of course, if you don't, you can always cancel at anytime.
It depends on a lot of things, but ordering something on release day can mean a hefty wait
while preorders get filled.

I wish one for me !!!! ♥
To those who obviously CANNOT READ -I clearly stated I DON'T WORK, I'm disabled...so I clearly am NOT - got it - NOT drumming up business for anyone in anyway. I'm simply sharing what I believe to be important money saving information. My comments are from my experiences with MobileCityOnline.
Also, FYI, last year when I pre-orded from MCO this same price was posted for my current Galaxy Note. Interestingly, 2 or 3 weeks they happened to raise the price of the GT-N7000 by almost $100. MCO did a ballsy thing, they honored the pre-ordered price. For me personally they earned my loyalty. I'll never buy an unlocked and international smartphone from anyone else!
From that point on whoever either P-O or @ the time ordered, since they received stock were stuck with the higher price PLUS had to pay for shipping. The free shipping was part of the P-O package. So to all those who ask what are the advantages of pre-ordering I say there are plenty of reasons. Your reasons may not be the same as mine but the fact remains there are definitely advantages of doing so.
Now to the morons who can't seen to get a grip with the fact I do not work for MCO in any capacity - I say if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. I'll gladly provide proof of why I am disabled in the form of pictures showing the zippers I received from the 22 surgeries that caused my situation which are personal anyway. But to shut you up is gladly do whatever out takes to back up any words that come out of my mouth.

Using disability money to buy new phones every year while earning some side cash by being a shill.

OK I'm not asking if the phone is worth $200 to YOU. I'm asking about me. I'm in high school and have a fair bit of money, and I don't really spend it on much since I got out of computer gaming. But I know there are always those people who will say "save every penny you can for your future". However, my Infuse is increasingly pissing me off. What do you all think?
Another question: When do you think AT&T will start pre-orders? If I do upgrade, I want it on release day

But beware you might get teased about the large size when you hold it to your face in public.
$200 is going to be the price you'll be paying for any cutting edge phone that you want to buy in the first few months of launch. So going by that, you really have no choice in the matter. Go buy the phone with no guilt.

Only you can decide if it's worth it. If you don't need one handed use,it fits in your pockets, and spend most of your time looking at the screen, it doesn't get much better than the note.

If you're infuse is always pissing you off, then sure get a new phone. If you don't have to pay rent or for a car or for anything, then sure why not get it? If you're not moving out anytime soon I personally don't see a problem with it.

It'll also be locked here in the US to the carrier/operator. The price of $200 (probably more than likely closer to $300) that we're referring to is subsidized/on-contract. By all means, unsubsidized here, it'll most likely be ~$800 as well.

These are SIM unlocked (can be on multiple carriers) and possibly not bootloader locked. Let the buyer beware.
In italy we are expecting 729 euro, on the 25th of september.
Of course price will go down. Same thing happened last year. Hardcore fans will be pay that price but most average buyers will wait it out. I'm waiting price will drop once released, also lack of sales figures will help drop price.
If it saves me 50-100 Then it's worth the wait.
Just saw a post in ce4arab forum that a user saw it in display at a shopping mall.
Price is between 750 and 800 USD for the 3g and the lte.

Netherlands is set at around €711 (T-Mobile)/€699 unbranded (Studentmobiel), Germany unbranded at around €649.
The S4 (snapdragon) was €649 at launch in Germany, and is €499 today. So prices do most certainly drop over time!

Watch this space, won't be long now. Some retailers already selling it cheaper then initial price of 649 can be picked up for 609 in the uk!! Probably due to several factors primarily poor preorders, still plastic, iPhone release date and rumours of Nexus 5. Patient is most certainly a virtue pal but of course if you are smartphone junkie that doesn't mean anything,
I can't help thinking Samsung are greedier then ever before, they give you less for your money. I'm personally waiting for nexus 5 to make up my mind which to get by then hopefully price would have dropped much further.

Well I've ordered it from www.belsimpel.nl
On that site it's stated a 5 to 7 day delivery time. So i guess I'm getting it either next week or the week after that

To me, it's a toy, not food needed for nourishment or the cure for cancer.
I always bid my time and buy my toys long after the herds have settled down. I'll be getting the N3 (if i decide to get it) months and months after it's launched and for hundreds of dollars less. I can wait that long and it's worth it to me.
My current Note 2 cost me 300 and I didn't die because I didn't get it on day one rather than months later and much cheaper. Yeah, there are folks like me.
BTW, I really appreciate folks who go out and get stuff on day one regardless of price. You keep the game alive versus cheapos like me. ???

You're not a cheapie you've just got your priorities right. Essentials take precedence over luxuries.
Keep it up you're a dying breed in an age of consumption fuelled society.
Those who can afford to get in on it from the gate should go for it if they so wish, those who can't should wait until they can, simple as that.
There is nothing wrong with constantly buying "the next big thing" if you can afford it and nothing wrong with waiting if you can't.

$649...

Ouch. Guess they're confident enough in the Nexus line now that they're looking for a profit on devices now too. Maybe a shift to selling subsidized on carriers is more of a priority.

Ya I'm gonna pass
That has to mean that the 64GB version will be $699. That is really crazy for a nexus device.
$650 I'll pass

I hope they fail so they know the main reason people bought nexus devices was because of a cheap price tag

Too rich for my blood - and for a lot of other people's too, it appears - Google's going to continue to sell the Nexus 5 for those of us without bottomless pockets
Interesting how LOLLIPOP (there - we can say it now!) is built to run on lower spec devices, yet they're still pushing the highest of high ends with this. Not complaining at all - it looks like a beast, alas one I'm unlikely to get to own
When I heard of N6 and it's specs I say: I selling my N5 and must have N6!!
But not when I read about prices.
going back to Samsung, better pay premium for a premium device, not this nexus 5.5
I thought this was the unlocked carrier price, not the Play price...

Samsung always seems to plasticy for me.
As for the $649 I am okay with it. This phone is very comparable to other flag ship devices, so it isn't like it is more expensive then the other phones out there in it range. I think many are just bummed because they are used to paying about half that for a Nexus. I already knew I was getting this phone no matter what and planned for it to be about this expensive just in case. One thing I hope this price does is bring down the bottle neck when it comes time to preorder.
i hope then dont charge shipping unlike during nexus 5 there was a shipping charge. shipping charge is going bring this phone to 700 usd
$649 is a total letdown...
I wonder if that $49.99 with contract deal is real.
Nexus 5 was too succesfull. I'll pass on this, too expensive.

probaby $49.99 a month....
Well I guess I'm out at that price.
Hate to say it but if I'm going $650 I may as well go iPhone in case I want to sell it.
Guess I'll pick up a MotoX 2ndGen after Christmas
Supposedly Tmobile is charging $650 for the 64gb. It doesn't make sense for it to be cheaper than the play store.
The price hasn't been announced officially yet, there's still hope.
If its 650 I'm out
