+1 for Qloud, very very good player

I've been using Act 1 (paid version), and Rock Player (the processor-specific ARM version the Streak uses). Between these two players, I can get most videos to play

I tried both the player, I like the quality of vplayer more...the only annoying thing is it go back to home screen after playing the video.....
How is the paid app for vplayer, is there any difference or it is same as trial version...
Ive tried Rockplayer and VPlayer, but although they play most formats they have severe limitations related to power consumption, video stuttering, and general ease of use.
I really recommend arcMedia player. Have beem using this for months with no problems. arcmediasoft.com/arcMedia/index.aspx

dito. mVideoPlayer works just fine.
You can also try iMPlayer, it's using HW acceleration if video is in the right format. It has only 3.5 stars but it works very well on our DHD.

Try MoboPlayer, it has now been released in public, and works very very well
Ya, I tried 2 movies with Moboplayer and they played well... good ui also which is missing in most of the player...

Mobo player is really good. plays nearly all formats and has a really good UI. Vitaplayer also plays most formats but the adds kind off kills it.
I been using Moboplayer for over a day now and it's played everything i can throw at it! I've switched from using RockPlayer now. Thanks to who suggested this player, never cam up when I was looking for a good player.

That would I also like to know.
Edit: Mostly for the .sub files. I have tried Mobo, Rock, QQ, and Vitalplayer and none of them supports .sub files as far as I can see.
I use rockplayer for my series n movies, srt files are working well.
Yes +1 for the mobo player.
I use dvd Fab for all my movies,it also gives you the option to hard encode subtitles in the movie file.
Sent from my A500 using XDA Premium App
I can confirm Moboplayer supports SRT subtitles. As best I can tell, it looks at your video's filename, and then looks for the same filename except ending in .SRT. ALL CAPS file extention was the only way I could get it to work. Good luck!

Try Mx player from market. It has an option to play in full screen and also to employ hardware acceleration /software acceleration.

dice player is good too!! give it ago!
If you get Freemaker video converter, which is free, for your PC you can convert your videos.
I use Act 1 Video player because it let's you zoom the size.

mx video player. Avi file with srt greek subs. works perfect.
another person for mx player
I've tried about every player available -- BSPlyer Lite, VPlayer, MoboPlayer. MX Player is all around the best - the only player that streams avi movies from SMB share (used with FS File Explorer). I also like MoboPlayer.
I believe the best player for Tegra 2 is DicePlayer - paid ARM 7. It sucks that the paid version is not available and who knows, may never be available from Android Market. VLC is still in beta - looking forward to that one!
Does anyone know what's going on with Dice? Seems like they pissed someone at Google off...
+1 to MX Player, plays everything I have thrown at it, if not in H/W then in S/W mode. Loads subs, dims buttons and resumes play even from LAN.

How do I watch avi movies free?

Is there a app or back or a thread/dev that has codecs? The only thing I have seen was rockplayer lite whitch is good and it plays my files but with watermarks...
Thank you!

I've seen many users talk about using Mobo. I use VitalPlayer Neon and get smooth playback of xvids. I assume it will play other avis as well.
Mobo does a pretty good job with avis, no issues for me so far.
Another vote for Mobo Player. Plays every avi I've tried smooth and steady. Uses swipe gestures on screen to adjust brightness, volume and playback location. Free in Market.

AVI DivX video playback?

Guys this thing is intriguing me, i cant natively play divx avi files? My LG 2X does it, how come my tablet with an huge screen don't?
I managed to get it software rendered with VitalPlayer but damn!

Another thing you could do which some people have tried is to change the file extension to mp4, which will play with the native player. I think DivX is just a 'container' format which contains MP4 video so it should work in theory, although I haven't tried this on my TF myself.

Tried that, wirh this video specifically it plays the first 3 seconds insanely fast and with no audio and then finally stops playing.

plenty of players out there for DIVX/XVID. I think some manufacturers just bundle extra players or codecs. i dont think support is in 'native' Android.

I'd go with MoboPlayer.

Can anyone test an divx 1080p video? Being software rendered I'm kinda not much confident, i feel it as a workaround rather than a solution...

1080p video encoded using the DivX (or XviD) codec is really inefficient. It's going to be a lot larger file size or of lower quality than a more modern codec like h.264. If you'd like to play 1080p video on your transformer, you'd be best to transcode your video to an h.264 video stream. Not only will the file size be much smaller, but it will play back using hardware acceleration which is much more likely to be smooth than software rendered DivX.
Rockplayer, Moboplayer, etc are all the same thing. They're just containers for ffmpeg--which is the best free software decoder available. Pick the one that has the best interface and is free. Paying for any of these is actually against the law, and while you're not going to get in any trouble, it's stupid to pay for something that should be free.

encode video to nexus 7

hey
i was looking for a program to convert my videos so i can watch them optimally on the nexus 7
any suggestions?
thanks
Ariel
I don't think you need to re-encode your videos. Personally, I just use MX player. It supports almost all video formats. You can download the app for free on the Play Store.
+1 for MX Player.
Can't say I've found a video it won't play tbh.

Bs player works better for me. Mx sometimes degrades picture quality.

+1 for MX player. So far plays anything I've thrown at it.
1080p Anime MXV files no problem.
Only files I have had problems with were ones that were poorly encoded.
