Problems with Market - Acer Iconia A500

Is anyone having problems downloading apps on the market? I have no made Any market updates, and yet it seems to be giving me problems constantly, im failing to download anything i seem to come across.
If i log onto the market on my desktop and click it there, it will send to my tablet, but for some reason i get Error processing purchase when trying to do so on my tablet.
Im on Honeyvillian Kernal 3.4, as well as CivatoMix3. Any help would be appreciated.

I installed the new 3.3.11 Market, even if it was said to be unstable for Honeycomb tablets, and i can once again download apps. Guess i deal with it being unstable..

I use the 3.1.6 market, its optimized for HC and I havent had any problems.

i also got the same problem with this message and after some google search i did the same as you.upgrade to 3.3.1.1 solved this.have never use 3.1.6 though
anyone knows why my tablet doesnt show up on my google account so i can send apps from market using my pc?
thanks a lot, hope you dont have a problem that im using your topic to ask for this..
p.s HoneyVillain 1.2 rom

If you have issues with the Market app, and doing a regular upgrade doesn't fix it, then..
Using Root Explorer, Delete the current vending.apk
Copy the new market version.apk, and rename it to Vending.apk.
Check permissions as they have to be the same as other files.
Reboot device
Go to app manager and force close, and clear the cache
Should work fine then.

[Q] Cannot update certain applications.

Hi gentlemen (and ladies ).
I'm having an issue with my Nexus One (and the misses with her Desire).
Both of them are up to date, stock rom, nothing fancy installed.
I (and her) are unable to install the new YouTube application. We can't find it in the market, nor can we update through AppBrain for example.
So my question to you all is: WHY?
We live in Belgium.
Extra: My Nexus One can't update Amazon MP3 and Voice Search neither.
All other updates work correctly, I just received the GMail update, so that works just fine .
Any suggestions?
I also cannot install the new YouTube app. I've tried a ton of times now, so its not you it must be a problem on Google's end. Should be fixed soon.
Youtube installed fine for me.
Maybe you have a version thats signed differently ? themed?
try uninstalling what you have first.
Try uninstall the app with Titanium Backup and then install from market. This resolves the problem for me

Yup, this is what I've always done. I had to do it with the new Gmail and YouTube apps.
I use root explorer to delete the app from \system\apps then reboot and re-install from market. Simple enough, though I usually still have to reboot between removing and reinstalling.
Kind of a pain but that's what we get for running custom rom's I guess
Well gentlemen, thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it. The problem is: I don't have a rooted phone. I guess I'll wait for Gingerbread, that'll happen pretty soon I guess

[Q] Back to old market?

Forgive me if this has been asked, I've searched for an answer and found nothing helpful...
So the new market seems to be problematic, how can I get (and keep) the old market?
IT seems like when I uninstall the updates, its the old market for awhile, then the new market installs?
Also, some items (Netflix and such) don't show up anymore in Market... what gives?
Any help would be great, and I'll click the "thanks button" for anyone who helps me
Edit: this seems to stop the market from updating...

I found this posted over at the HTC Aria forum by user mtnlion and thought somebody might be interested. You can turn off the market updater (which is responsible for bringing the new market back over and over) by going to terminal emulator and typing:
Code:
$ su
# pm disable com.android.vending.updater
This can be re-enabled by doing the same as above but typing enable instead of disable. I've tested it and it appears to persist after reboot. If you already have the new market you can go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > Market > Uninstall Updates. This will revert you to the old market. Do it after disabling updater.
This doesn't stop automatic updates of apps according to the other thread. I'm sure some of you already know about this but hopefully it'll help somebody.

(I slightly edited the above)
Doesn't fix my issue of the missing apps though
First post...
Are you reverting to the old market because of the constant FC messages? or do you have other complaints?

Reverting back to the old market because the new market seems to be missing apps (netflix, etc etc) and the fact that the new market looks (and functions) like crap.
I have no issues with FC's... yet.
OK, well I don't want to stray your thread because I'm having a number of other issues with FC's. I'll start another thread.
Good luck.
Uninstall the market update app. (I used Titanium Backup.) Then uninstall the update and you should remain with the old market.
I can't get any updates. As soon as I start to download an update to any installed app, Market force closes. Any ideas?

Nightly 177 from SDcard.
3.0.27
build.prop is as is
Any app I try to update or install new. Here is an example at random: Solitaire by Ken Magic. Tried to install, get the download screen and boom force close.
I'm an inch away from just nuking my card and starting over. It was all happy until I tried updating the Market to the newest one and it's been in a death spiral ever since.
Thanks,
Homer
What I did, was rename marketupdater.apk to marketupdater.apk.bak.
I want to say the file is in /system/app
Then uninstall the market updates.
I don't know if it has anything to do with my market working, but I also did LCD Density to 160 fix. You can find that here on the forums pretty easily... But I read that the LCD Density fix only works a few days.
Mine's been working fine for at least the last week or so with these 2 things.

I think you answered your own question. Uninstall the market updater app. (I used Titanium Backup for this.) Then, go to the settings for the market app and uninstall the update.
I found this but haven't been able to run the linux stuff from terminal emulator (Su fails).
So I can't say if this works or not.
facebookdotcom/note.php?note_id=279479622068267 .... I'm new so I can't hotlink
I'm on SD card to, with CM7. I'd love the old marketplace back, but also settle for having all of the download icons show. (I haven't been able to save edits to my build.prop).

Market Purchase Error Frustated??

Okay guys runnning tabooney 2.2 updated and everything was running ICS 3.2.0 market kept getting purchase error, so i went in and cleared data removed the my gmail in acct sync and same thing, reboot clear cache dalvik did a full reset flashed the again same issue. one step i havent successfully gotten to do was the place vending.apk thru a file manager. i have r/w permission and root using honeycomb manager and file es,. I even tryed flashing the market 3.1.6 thru cwm with a flashable zip found on xda but i cant find the link anymore. really need some help, finally i just gave up and downgraded back to 3.1hc then updated back to 3.2 thru acer. but i cant live without root now punning lightspeed rom but would like to be on tabooney again THANK!!!! im pretty good at using roms and terminal emu, but not familiar with adb push. but your best help would be awesome. i want to be able to use 3.2.0 ics but if i can get 3.1.6 ill be good with that also
Try to delete gmail account, clear market data them add gmail account and try to download again
Sent from my A500 using Tapatalk
me too running taboonay 2.1
i have this problem too - and it seems others have too according to the taboonay thread...there are quite a few solutions that have been posted including
- deleting your market gmail account and setting up a whole new one,
- downgrading to 1.0.28
- upgrading to 3.1.5/3.1.6
- installing apps thru the website
- updating the rom to 2.2
- downgrading back to 2.1
- wiping caches, reflashing etc
but nothing has worked for me unfortunately tho i havent reflashed (yet)
I see someone has posted a new market version 3.3.11 so i'm about to try that, so i'll let u know how it goes in a few ticks!!
ok, its working...for now
right, this is what i did -
backed up!
cleared market data via settings>manage apps, cache was already mt
rebooted
d/l 3.3.11 from here and installed.
now, after i opened it had to do the 'accept' thing and then tried to d/l a game. I got a dialogue asking which application i would like to use and the choices were:
a) com.google.android.finsky, or
b) com.android.vending
i wasn't sure which one so chose a) and got an error "device not compatible" turns out "finsky" was my original market 1.0.28, so -
used the shortcut for 3.3.11 and voila i'm all sweet, woohoo!!!!
i wouldnt be sure that this is "solved" but it is working - i also have 2 market
shortcuts in my apps list and both versions showing in root explore and titanium
unsure as to whether i can uninstall orig. market
but for the moment i think i'll leave things as they are good luck
I am on a 3.2 stock rom and have the same issue. I have tried some of those above mentioned solutions except changing rom and different market app (I am not rooted so I can't try that) and none worked.
I have sent an email to market support and they are looking to it. But I guess 4.0 will be here before they find a solution.

Usually I find the way to fix this problem is to replace vending.apk in your app folder with a compatible one. You need root to do this, as it involves deleting/renaming a file in the system.

Market issue any ideas?

I cannot purchase any apps in teh market ATM before I get to teh pop up when u click purchase I get a message saying "An error has occured, please try agian" been doing that since wednesday
I have tried switching roms, went into the market and hide all my duplicate devices and nothing
An old friend taught me this;
Download the new market app. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329392
Using root explorer, go to the directory where your current vending.apk is.
Delete it.
Copy your new market app you downloaded to the same directory.
Rename it to vending.apk.
Make sure you check permissions, as they must be the same as the other apps.
Reboot.
Go into your app manager.
Delete the market app cache.
Should be ok now. I had the same issue a few weeks ago. Installing the new app by the usual way, didn't fix anything.
that seemed to fix it, i did the clear cache but not removing the market, odd too cause its witha fresh install thanks agian
No problem. Glad it's working.
I had the exact same issue, but clearing the cache didn't fix it, nor did the normal market installs. Was strange. Had to use my ph to purchase the apps, then install through the tab.
this new market makes FC when i try to download some of the apps.
with others works great.
what could be the reason?
thors rom 14.2
proxonic
Supposedly, the new market was for android 2.3 and not HoneyComb per say. Occassional FC were a known issue but seems to run ok overall. Suppose they will put out a new version for HC soon.

[Q] NST GMarket search

Hi,
I am kind of new to Android (not linux) and I am asking myself, if it is even possible to enable the search function somehow in Google Market.
There are several attempts to do so and some report it working. Unfortunately, the working reports are so old that I am confused weather it is still possible or not.
I have tried several Vending.apk's, even the ones reported working as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15084704&postcount=51
I am on 1.1.2. Maybe someone could confirm/disprove Market search working or not. Then we would know if struggling is worth the task getting it to work.
Thanks for the reply

Use SearchMarket.apk to search for apk's in the market.
It work's if you have registered your gmail account correctly (that is your market.apk works/connects to google play).
http://www.appbrain.com/app/searchmarket/youten.redo.searchmarket?install=appwidget
yeah no, that was not what i meant.
Of course Market is working with a proper gmail adress. I was talking about it being possible to search the market w/o searchmarket app. Like people telling it would work, but most posts are still of 2011. So my question is: Is it even possible to search the Market in nowadays Google Play time w/o 3rd party apps?
Why is searching not possible? IMO, it is because of server restictions, not because of the Vending.apk. Right?
So I assume these "claimed to be working" Vending.apk's are not working anyway anymore, are they?
Thx
How can I get the SearchMarket.apk file for manual adb installation? My Nook Market app won't let me install any app.
Edit: Managed to get it installed by searching for it from within the Browser and installing from the web interface. Weird but after that the SearchMarket app was shown topmost on MyApps in Market and could be clicked, which begun installation.
The problem is Market for Nook only displays a limited # (~15) of MyApps (given I have a Galaxy S3 with 350+ apps installed and that the Nook Market doesn't restrict to Nook installed ones).
just download market search from gstore ....... log on gmail acc that u root ur nst with and go to google store and search ur appz ur desire and download to ur acc ....... once u connect ur nook to wifi ur appz will download successfully , between that i am use market seacher on my rooted nst 1.1.2 and works great till now , try methid above with reinstall market searcher
good luck

Just in case.
youten.redo.searchmarket.apk
The apk itself is free so i guess uploading it here is not illegal.
I recently uninstalled (deleted) the apks of certain android apps like gtalk, calendar from my system/app folder on my rooted NST using root explorer.
Not sure if it is related, but, unable to install any app now from the app market. I use app-brain app market for downloading apps.
I'm able to find the apps, but on clicking on download, it doesn't get downloaded and instead says it is 'downloading' without any apparent change.
Is the problem related to the deletion of certain apks?
Note: haven't deleted any apk even associated with the word download/market.

I'm having the same problem. I was a able to download apps from market a couple days ago but not yesterday or today. I don't think I uninstalled anything in the meantime. Anyone have any ideas?

Solved it. I Had uninstalled gtalk thinking it was unnecessary on the NST but it broke the market.
Installed gtalk and the market started working fine again.
You are sure you didn't uninstall anything?
What is the error btw? It takes you to the download page but the download doesn't begin?
