Sent from my Thrive, rooted and looking for more.

just got mine last week with 30% off on a deal. sweet thing, works perfectly

Don't upgrade to 3.2.1. You lose the ability to root. I jumped the gun and upgraded. Bummed!

Same here. Got mine today and updated. One thing to note, within the first hour the thing rebooted and came up asking for a pin which I never set so had to factory reset it. I recommend setting a pin whether you decide to encrypt it or not.

2.3.1

Just wondering have Google pulled all updates for the nexus s as I'm still on 2.3.1 ? and have yet to receive any updates, have just recently got my nexus from carphone warehouse on a orange contract .

I am still on 2.3.1 also. Had the phone for almost a month.
My old one didn't update from 2.3.
Manually updated to CM7 now...
I've looked on the Google blog but not seen notification of a OTA update being blocked to 2.3.2,I'm aware of the issues regarding 2.3.3 can anyone further this topic.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I, too, have a slight problem with this. I bought the SNS a week ago, it came with 2.3. It found the update to 2.3.1, updated OTA. But that was all. Didn't find any 2.3.2, not to mention 2.3.3. So, I manually did an update from 2.3.1 to 2.3.2. I didn't want to continue with 2.3.3 because of the issues with the color corrections in that update. Plus, it doesn't really change anything else important. Nothing bad has happened after the manual install, but I am still curios, why is it that the OTA's weren't present on my device, as well as others here on the forum ?
I'm also on the 2.3.1 since I got the phone but I haven't had any reboot issues nor any other problems with it. One thing I wanted to ask everyone here who bought the phone from BestBuy is did you all get the phone in an open box?

Yeah that's weird cause I have read about other people getting their brand new Nexus S phones from BestBuy in unsealed boxes. Even the unboxing videos on youtube show the Nexus S from BB stores coming in unsealed boxes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjwfWCyBuCs

New to Nexus S & happy about it

Hi all
I just got my nexus s today. I picked it up from the marketplace from someone selling it. It is an awesome phone so far. It is super fast as compared to my old G1 from HTC.
Definitely going to have a bunch of questions about my phone.
Thanks all

I am pretty new to the Nexus S. Basically going on 2 weeks with it now.
Welcome to the nexus S Its a good phone. I lucked out someone wanted the Samsung Focus and was willing to trade for the Nexus S. The part I wasn't expecting is that I met the guy at the Fido store and he handed me the phone BNIB still sealed.
Welcome!
When i first got my ns i came from an iphone 3G, and oh was i inlove .

For those coming from eclair or lower. Becareful with the market auto restore. I never used it on my Epic but decided to give it a try on this phone a few times. The feature itself works mostly fine but the problem is if you have a ton of apps it could be a solid 15-20 minutes or longer (not on wifi) of straight downloading and apps installing one after another. That means your CPU will be mostly pegged at 1ghz the entire duration, which generates a lot of heat. If your phone is on charge during this it just adds to the heat build up. Yesterday on 4g it took roughly 15 minutes for this process to complete and by the time it was done my battery was at scorching 47c. Not cool.
Suggest to turn it off in settings /privacy, grab titanium backup and learn to use it.

Try this,
http://www.technipages.com/2-ways-to-factory-hard-reset-motorola-atrix.html
It doesn't give you an option to create a new one? All it requires is a working email address.

Yeah I know. It sucks. But unless you have better luck finding a way to reset blur than I did, I am afraid that is what it is.
I am amazed that someone sold a phone and didn't reset it theirselves. And you probly don't want their crap on your phone anyway. Not to mention, a nice reset will give you that new out of the box experience. So unless you are concerned about keeping the contents of the old user, (sayWHAT?!?) don't sweat it. Takes maybe 5 minutes tops for the reset. And you are in business.
cant u just flash the SBF ?
Go into recovery and I have the option to factory reset from there

Call me whatever you want, but are we sure this is a purchased phone and not a stolen phone?
Maybe I don't trust people, or whatever, but I just don't see someone selling an atrix, without at least performing a wipe.
For the record, I am not saying the op stole it, just saying it could be.

not saying it is either way, but the original owner could have wiped, booted up the phone and logged in with their motoblur account to check, and then handed off the phone.

I kept telling the stupid lady that my brother had same.phone on 2gb for 25 and she said I was incorrect no matter how much I told her. She said 4g absolutely requires and that it was the only one availible. And I told her on the site I saw it and she said I was misinformed. And went ahead and added the stupid package

Ya, I would so no as well. He never went into Settings>About Phone>Android Version. So we have no proof.
Yea and even if he did that I'm pretty darn certain that can be modified.
