[GUIDE step by step] How To Re-lock Boot loader on Xperia Arc - Xperia Arc General

First of all thanks Blagus for creating magical little file.
If you want your warranty back, follow this tutorial!
Requirements:
1. PC Companion and Update Service installed on your PC
2. FlashTool_0.2.9.1.exe – http://www.multiupload.com/7H4JT35B6G
3. Xperia Relock bootloader.ftf – http://www.mediafire.com/?g1b5j712ajx4yjd
Step by Step Guide:
1. Download the files given above in requirements.
2. Double click on ‘FlashTool_0.2.9.1.exe’ file to extract it, Or you can use free software like ‘7 zip’ to extract it.
3. Few files and folders will be extracted — the one which we’ll be using for flashing “Xperia Relock bootloader.ftf” files is the “firmwares” folder.
4. So copy the “Xperia Relock bootloader.ftf” file that you downloaded above, and paste it inside the “firmwares” folder.
5. Now double click on the “X10FlashTool.exe” file to run the program.
6. Once the program opens — click on the “Flash” button.
7. You’ll see a screen like the image given below — click “Ok”!

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
8. Now it should ask you to connect your phone to the PC. So first plug the USB cable to PC, then pick up your phone and hold the “Back” key (key at the bottom left on your Arc), and then connect the USB cable to your phone. Remember you’ve to hold the “Back” key while connecting the USB cable to phone.
9. Once the phone gets connected — Flashtool will automatically start the flashing process.
10. Keep an eye on the Flashtool’s screen.
11. And once the process gets finished, disconnect your phone from PC and switch it ON.
Enjoy!

Yes It does. But you should flash stock kernel first unless you intent to use seus directly to get stock rom like i did. I hope you understand what i mean. Once again sorry for my poor english.

As I can install stock kernel again, I have only the kernel ...
Thanks for your help friend

Arc S (L18i) Users,
Unlocked Bootloader, and DooMKernel caused Problems for me. My Phone never got identified by PC companion thereafter. I wanted it so bad, So I decided to Reloack the Bootloader again.
Let me Save you lots of time,
Before Locking the Bootloader again,
If you're on DooMKernel, Reflash a Stock Kernel.
You can get the Stock Kernel, by Downloading the Stock FTF package and then Extracting it with 7zip. Find the Kernel.sin file and flash it using the Fastboot commands.
Once its done, If your device Still doesn't connect in USB mode, use SEUS and Update the firmware. No need to upgrade, Just re-install what you have.
SEUS needs the bootloader to be locked.

hi, so are you saying Re-locking your bootloader wont wipe out your phone ?
And Sony Already Took All Your Info When You Unlocked Your Phone So I Am Sure They Will Know That You Just Re-locked It Some How And Refuse To Fix It Either Way If Something Goes Wrong.

When i tried to relock my bootloader flashtool didn't see loader.sin i don't know what's wrong with it please help me...

so i want to ask a question about my kernel. Im using 4.0.3 ICS beta and im very happy with it. But when the time comes i wanna get my update for ICS officially and that's why i want to lock my bootloader again. My Kernel Version on "About Phone" is 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected]#1 . My question is: I know its not a stock kernel when it says SemcUser and stuff but can u explain or atleast give me a link for some instructions how to get my stock kernel back and is it doable with reflashing to a 2.3.4 GB ? Thanks in advance!

Worked like a charm on my Xperia Arc 4.0.2.A.0.62 LT15a.
Also I was able to repair my phone via sony pc companion
Although I was unable to find a way to get DRM files back, I have installed the never version of Sony Track ID from Google Play Store and restore that functionality..
Thanx electrash and Blagus, you guys are awesome!!

what i want to know is if this would work on the Xperia play
and what method of unlocking bootloader does this relock: test point or sony's method?

This is Q&A thread. Please move
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium

Is this suitable for LT18i?
Can the TFT file be used in the latest Flashtool, or does it need this version?

i used Xperia_Relock_bootloader.ftf to unroot my phone,
now when i try to turn it on it only vibrate one time and gives a small green led bling.
connecting to pc works but it only shows a connected phone with the pc companion.
i had Arconium 8.2 with doomkernel installed.

thanks mannnnnnn
thanks man u r the best if i cud press the thanks button 1000 time i will:good:
q\ i did install ics jb remix after that i did stock on sony logo then locked the boot loader with your trk and it works again thanks
do i need a custom kernal for custom roms????????????

After flashing Xperia Relock bootloader.ftf i can't no longer unlock the bootloader on my Xperia Pro,
i am being returned this when i try to unlock the bootloader.

[DISASTER RECOVERY][v3.6] Getting your Z1/ZU/Z/ZL back to life!

I have had my fair share of problems getting out of all kinds of tricky situations. :fingers-crossed: I thought it would be nice to share my knowledge and experience with the good folks on XDA
Using this guide you can get out of the following problems:
Bootloop: Sony logo -> Xperia logo and/or bootanim followed by a reboot
Bootstall: Sony logo appears, nothing else happens
Soft-brick: Phone vibrates when you try to turn it on, nothing else happens, not even the screen turns on! (Formerly named Refuseboot)
A bootloop occurs when your rom has missing or corrupted files or otherwise an incomplete system partition.
A bootstall is caused by a heavily corrupted system partition to the extent you could say it is nolonger there... or an android service that fails to start during init.
A soft-brick can be caused by either a corrupted TA partition or by relocking your phone while you have a custom kernel image still on it (big oops! and yes: I have been in that situation myself :silly: )
Xperia Z: Testing functionality before we start...
Bootloop/bootstall: Try to reboot your phone by holding down the POWER and the VOL-UP buttons at the same time for a few seconds. If it reboots, you can be happy! :highfive:
Soft-brick: If you can feel your phone vibrate when trying to power it on, even when your screen does not turn on, you can also be happy! :fingers-crossed:
The above functionality SHOULD also work on the Z1 and the ZU.
Xperia ZL: Testing functionality before we start...
The ZL has a small reset switch behind the lid where your SIM card goes. You need a pen or something similar to operate it and it should be labeled 'reset' or 'off' inside the case. To reset your phone, you will need to use this switch. The selection between Fastboot (Vol-up) or Flashmode (vol-down) however is the same.

Xperia ZU: Testing functionality before we start...
The ZU also has a small reset switch behind the lid where your SIM card goes. You need a pen or something similar to operate it and it should be labeled 'reset' or 'off' inside the case. To reset your phone, you will need to use this switch. The selection between Fastboot (Vol-up) or Flashmode (vol-down) however is the same.
Xperia Z1: Testing functionality before we start...
The Z1 also has a small reset switch behind the lid where your SIM card goes. You need a pen or something similar to operate it and it should be labeled 'reset' or 'off' inside the case. To reset your phone, you will need to use this switch. The selection between Fastboot (Vol-up) or Flashmode (vol-down) however is the same.
Now that we know we can re-/boot your phone, you have a way out of this problematic situation! :victory:

And yes, I personally have been dealing with all the above due to sleep deprived stupidity the past 4 weeks ... But my Z is still very much alive and kicking!

Thanks for moving it to the right forum!
I have tried it using flashtool, it works almost the same, I will update the OP with a flashtool guide once I am comfortable enough to write the guide, need some experience with that to account for the caveats flashtool might throw...

Redone the OP, added a new guide... now this OP covers just about all you can recover from. :fingers-crossed:
I'm the living proof, my Z is still alive and I have been using all of the methods described in the OP to get me out of trouble more then once
Hi there. As I've learned from your post here, I'm probably experiencing a "Bootstall" after trying to install your lockeddualrecovery1.7.zip from your other thread, and I tried to recovery using the FLASHTOOL method described above, but it doesn't seem to help, but I'm not sure if its working the way its supposed to.
I select the flashmode flashing tft a stock rom, deselected wipe data, and after getting told to connected the device in flashmode. then the flashwindow disappears and only the main window is still there. after a minute my device reboots, but the Bootstall still happens the same way as before.. Here my flashtool log (using flashtool-0.9.10.2beta6-linux)
12/026/2013 11:26:20 - INFO - Selected Xperia Z / 10.1.A.1.434 / unbranded

UPDATE: Okey, It seems my self created tft package just was crappy and didn't work. I downloaded the one from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2209637 and this one worked.
The only difference that I find between that one and my self created package is, that I've also included the file "simlock.ta" (I just put all of them in that where downloaded by the pc companion software)
But the main message of my update here: I'm back and rolling, and I didn't even loose my data
I have a refuseboot problem.
I read your guide but have still a question.
Where i can find the stock-kernel image?
Edit: i used the second method and it works.
should this work in case of hardbricking the device by backup/restore TA image with our DRM keys?
thanks

sorry, i just read it works for that case
@gm007
i remember you hardbricking your XZ. Are you able to bring it to life with this.?

A hard brick means you can not restore your phone. A soft brick like I had is recoverable.
EDIT:
gm007 did not get his hard-bricked phone back to life with this guide, the phone is truly dead.

We'll after being impatient and rushing to apply latest update to UK stock rom running in Australia, I had my first bootloop ever in 6 years of flashing (Sony logo starting then phone shutting down). Nothing I was doing helped. Thought it was going to be service centre bound.
Found this thread again and applied the fix in Op.
Now I'm running the latest original clean aussie Rom with no problems whatsoever.
Thanks so much mate.

May'13 - Unlock Bootloader, Flash Recovery, Install ROM on Atrix 4G AT&T 4.5.141

The best feature of Android - It's open. You can modify Android to have the best performance from your phone. My previous Atrix's hardware had some problem. So I didn't root my/unlock my Atrix. However, after seeing the upcoming CM10 for my set &; a battery friendly ROM yet 100% stable ROM, I finally decided to flash a custom ROM. What's great? I'm successful.
Yesterday, I was determined to unlock my bootloader & flash MROM on it. But I was afraid if I do anything wrong, my phone will not boot. I've not any other phone other than this & it's very precious to me. It's my beloved Atrix. I was unrooted, unlocked. Meant - I didn't do any modification at all. If you're on AT&T 4.5.141 (OTA Upgraded) then this tutorial is for you. (Bell/International users close your tab now!)
I'll not be responsible if you do any harm to your device
(You know the drill )
How to Unlock Motorola Atrix Bootloader (4.5.141) AT&T
I'm a noob. So I was searching for a perfect & easy tutorial. The automatic bootloader unlock seems really confusing to me. So I decided to do it manually. It's more easy &; clear than the automatic version.
I'll be writing this tutorial only for AT&T Atrix running 4.5.141 - Android 2.3.6 version. This tutorial will also work for AT&T 4.5.91 version.
But don't try this on AT&T 4.5.145/Bell/other international version. Once you flash CM7, don't flash Motorola's ROM with SBF. It'll brick the phone..
(Means your phone is dead!)

We'll be flashing a custom ROM directly after unlocking the bootloader. So please download a custom rom &; it's Google Apps to your internal memory/SD Card. The main purpose of unlocking bootloader is to flash roms. So I don't care whether Motorola's buggy, laggy, sluggish, default blur ROM works or not.
Pre Requirements
We'll be needing a couple of tools.
We need the drivers for Atrix 4G. Download &; install it from here*(31.60 MB)
We'll need fastboot to unlock. Download fastboot from here (4.73 MB)
We'll need RSDLite. Download RSDLite 5.3.1 (4.33 MB)
Only for AT&T Atrix running 4.5.91/4.5.141 -*We'll need the 1.1 MB Unlocker Only SBF for AT&T Atrix. This tool will make ready your smartphone to unlock via fastboot command.
How to Unlock Bootloader Now?
If you've rooted already, take a backup of your apps with Titanium Backup. If not, then you're gonna loose all your apps.
Unlocking Atrix 4G Bootloader 4.5.141 Step-by-step
First of all, install RSDLite & extract the file*4547-fix-try2.sbf on your desktop.
Extract fastboot to C://fastboot.
Open RSDLite.
Power off your phone. Press power button+volume down together. You'll see a text "fastboot". Then start pressing the volume down again &; and again until you see "RSD". Once it comes, press volume up button. It'll say "Starting RSD Protocol"
You'll see that RSDLite has detected your phone in the menu. (SE Olympus or something like that)
Now Click the "..." button in RSDLite &; navigate the*4547-fix-try2.sbf file from your desktop.
Click Start.
Wait 5/6 minutes It'll restart your phone. You'll maybe see a boot error. (Just ignore it. Cause we're gonna flash a new ROM anyway).
After waiting some minutes, it'll say it's saying "starting fastboot protocol"
We're half done. We've extracted our fastboot files in C://fastboot
Open Command Prompt with Admin Privilege
Code:
Type "cd.."
Code:
Type "cd.."
Code:
Type "cd fastboot"
Type "
Code:
fastboot devices
".You'll see if your devices gets recognized or not.
Now type "
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
it'll give you a unique ID to unlock your phone.
Type "
Code:
fastboot oem unlock "XXXXXXXXXXXX (Unique ID)"
BAAAAMMM!!! WE'RE UNLOCKEDDD BABY!!!!
Flashing ClockWorkMod Recovery
(I've downloaded the latest recovery from romracer from here & placed it into the fastboot folder already)
Reboot your phone into fastboot mode again. (If power button doesn't do it, do a battery pull. To get into fastboot, Press power button+volume *down together until you see fastboot &; then press volume up)We're in the command prompt still.
So write*
fastboot erase recovery
Then write
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
YAY!!! BOOM! We've flashed unlocked the bootloader & flashed recovery!
To flash a rom now, go to recovery mode (Press power button+volume *down together until you see*fastboot*&; then keep pressing volume down &; until you see "Android Recovery". Once you see it, press volume up.
The ROM flashing guide is easy. Choose install zip from SD card &; select your rom package &; it'll be installed. Reboot to enjoy your first custom ROM

Make sure you download the USB Driver for WIndows. I posted the link in the OP. Read it thoroughly.
i need help
all my volume buttons are not functioning, how can u help me unlock........
If you have root, you might be able to use adb and the internal reboot command to reboot into various modes (recovery, fastboot...).

***Tip*** I was not able to get any methods to work with a Windows 7 64bit OS with correct drivers. Loaded up a old laptop with 32bit Vista and the Automatic Bootloader Unlock and Root worked perfect.
It seemed to be a issues with RSD Lite? When I would get to that stage RSD would open up but never connected to device. I guess we have to wait a few more years for 64bit to be mainstream?
Some of you are wondering why I am wasting time on this older phone but, I like to by older tech that was once "Top tier" at a bargain price.
Running MROM-Olympus right now and it's pretty nice so far.
Thanks a ton to the DEVs of this program!

Works for 4.5.141 ?
Hi! Does this method work for Atrix 4G AT&T 4.5.145 as well? I want to get bootloader unlocked of my phone and install any ROM which supports 2-way Call Recording. Kindly suggest a stable ROM also that supports call recording function.
I am bit confused as the thread title says for 4.5.141 only.
Thanks in advance!!! :good:
Hi! No idea. You should see what changes between releases.l and if they can affect the process.
Stable.. it depends on how do you define stable. Roms where everithing works are the ones based on motorola"s stock gb rom.
Without webtop, cm7 (i prefer official unmodified cm7)

[ALL-IN-ONE][HOW-TO][D5803] Bootloader Unlock/Relock/Flash firmware/CWM Recovery/Root

Hello
I have done this on two Xperia Z3 Compact phones this weekend in Bulgaria, bought from local mobile operator. I wanted the latest Sony firmware, so I did the following:
How to install the newest Android 4.4.4 for Sony XPERIA Z3 Compact D5803
CAUTION
There is information, that users who have unlocked the new Xperia Z3 Compact have found that low-light camera performance drops considerably. It turns out to be because of DRM in Sony's image signal processing.
When the bootloader is unlocked, the device loses certain DRM security keys. That means you can't purchase content from Sony's storefronts and a few licensed features won't work, but it apparently also means basic features of the phone are negatively affected. A Sony rep has confirmed that some advanced camera algorithms on the new generation of devices like the Z3 and Z3 Compact are protected by DRM. If you unlock the phone, those features stop working. Apparently that causes photos in low-light to be noisier and poorly balanced.
This isn't the first time Sony's bootloader unlock has come with some major drawbacks—unlocking past devices could actually break camera functionality (this was technically a bug). There have always been a few proprietary features that stop working, but the difference in image quality this time is allegedly noticeable.
Update: Sony has updated the text of the bootloader unlock warning on its website to be clear about the camera impact. It reads, "...the removal of DRM security keys may affect advanced camera functionality. For example, noise reduction algorithms might be removed, and performance when taking photos in low-light conditions might be affected."
Relocking your device bootloader will NOT get back the lost DRM Keys... Once locked, they will be lost forever! More info cant be found HERE

1. PREPARATION
1) First of all, check your firmware version (if you already have the newest one, you do not need to download it, so skip step 3) and step 4), that are below. Just proceed with step 2) -> 5) from the PREPARATIONS (this) tutorial . Steps in the other tutrials are absolutely needed! Dont skip any of them!)
2) Download and install latest Flashtool from here (Latest Flashtool for Xperia Devices)
3) Download also latest Sony Original Firmware - 23.0.A.2.105 - Android 4.4.4 ( Mega Download ) for Sony XPERIA Z3 Compact
4) Paste the .ftf file downloaded in step 3 in folder „Firmware“ in your Flashtool installation folder. (for example for me is C:/Flashtool/Firmware)
5) Go on Sony Mobile site and download the Sony PC Companion. You must install it, because it installs some important drivers for your device. Since Sony stopped the Update Service application, now all the job is done from PC Companion.
a) After you installed the PC Companion, you must launch it and download the "Support Zone" addons from the main menu.
b) After that you must go in your Flashtool installation folder and find the Drivers folder. Go in it and install the Flashtool drivers for your device.
IMPORTANT
It is important to install Flashmode and Fastboot drivers with the driver for your device! Otherwise it will cause some problems during the flash procedure.
So now we're going into the real part of the things
2. BOOLADER UNLOCK
1) Go on Sony Mobile Developers website, register, enter your device IMEI and it will generate an unlock key for your device. Write it down!!!
1) Start Flashtool application and click on BLU button on the top
2) Turn off your phone and when Flashtool shows pop up window, connect phone to PC with holding volume down button
3) Copy the unlock key, that was given to you earlier from Sony Website to Flashtool window and than click unlock button
4) When you are prompted, disconnect your phone and connect the phone again, but this time with holding volume up button when Flashtool shows pop up window
5) Wait the unlock process to finish
6) Disconnect your phone and start it up. If it boots normaly, than all is DONE. Congratulations! You have unlocked your bootloader!
3. BOOTLOADER RELOCK
1) Download and install latest Flashtool from here (Latest Flashtool for Xperia Devices)
2) Start Flashtool and click on BLU button on the top
3) Turn off your phone and when Flashtool shows pop up window, connect phone to PC with holding volume down button
4) Just click on relock button and your bootloader is locked again
4. Flash Sony XPERIA Z3 Compact Latest Firmware - 23.0.A.2.105 - Android 4.4.4
1) Ensure yourself that you have the .ftf. that you downloaded in the PREPARATION process into the Firmwares folder of your Flashtool
2) Do not connect the phone to the computer yet. You must first open the Flashtool application, click on flash (the thunder) and choose Flashmode, than choose the firmware that you have downloaded and click ok.
3) Now turn off your phone and when Flashtool shows pop up window, connect phone to PC with holding volume down button
4) After few minutes of flashing, all is done!
IMPORTANT
The process is pretty slow! DO NOT DISCONNECT your phone during the proccess! Leave it still and for it to finish the flashing process! When it is DONE, Flashtool will say Disconnect and turn on your device (not a pop-up, just a line at the bottom of the other lines of words)!!!
If the device boots normaly, it should be factory reseted and it will boot slowly. Much slowly than normal.
Congratulations! You have the lates firmware from Sony!
5. Flashing ClockWorkMod Recovery
1) Download the kernel image with integrated CWM Recovery from HERE
2) Save the boot.img to folder of your choice
3) Open Flashtool, click on the Flash (thunder) and choose Fastboot. Choose "Choose file to flash" under the DooMLoRD "side" of the opened window. Then choose the folder, that you have saved the boot.img in and then choose the .img file itself.
4) Follow the instructions. There are two posibilities - the phone will reboot itself and go into Fastboot mode without you touching it OR you must turn-off the phone, hold the volume up key and connect phone to computer.
5) The flashing will finish verry fast. Wait for it and when it is done, disconnect you phone and turn it on. When Sony logo appears, start pressing the volume down button rapidly, until it enter the recovery mode. And you're ready to go!
6. ROOT
IMPORTANT
You must ensure yourself, that you have falshed the kernel boot.img WITH the CWM Recovery!
1) Once you have flashed the kernel boot.img WITH the CWM Recovery download the latest SuperSU update.zip from: HERE
2) Save the downloaded .zip file on sdcard of device
3) Reboot into recovery and choose "Install ZIP from sdcard" and then "Choose ZIP file to install" (moving thru options is vol up / volume down keys; choosing an option is power button)
4) Choose the .zip file that you have downloaded on your sdcard and the installing should begin
5) After a while the installing should be finished you the recovery will bring you into the menu, that was just before the installation begin. You must choose "Go back" and then "Reboot"
6) The recovery will say you, that the root permisions must be fixed befor rebooting - choose ok / accept or fix (don't remeber what was the opiton really...)
7) If all is OK the phone must boot normaly ( the first time it will say "Upgrading Applications") and after that in the applications menu you must have an applicaion, named SuperSU. If you have it - Congratulations! You have rooted you phone successfully!
7. Installing BusyBox
It is highly recommended to install busybox after rooting!
You must just go to andorid play store and download the busybox installer. Once the installer is downloaded start it and choose to install busybox in /system/xbin. After the installation is done, reboot the device and you're done!

There is a topic that compares pictures with and without an unlocked BL.
The problem is if you unlock your BL and you send your phone back for repairs, chances are very big that they will refuse to repair your device.
Hence being able to re-lock it and regaining the keys is almost a must.
Thanks!! It works a lot!

Well since you unlock your BL through Sonys website they'll know If its been unlocked...regardless If you relock it.
For a guide which details unlocking bootloader, you should probably include backing up TA partition using this tool
Do it after root, before unlocking bootloader. Then if you want DRM stuff back, you can restore the TA backup using the same tool; this automatically relocks the bootloader, then flash a stock kernel (& rom if you need) & it will be in 'factory' condition
Hi, I followed the steps exactly and everything went perfect. However, I downloaded CM nightly and when i try to install it, i get an error msg that says that the nightly zip file is for zc3, while my phone is aries (which i believe is Xiomi MI2). The model number of the phone still says d5803, so I am not sure why its recognized incorrectly.
Any ideas, anyone?
@ThunderBird891 Where did you get the boot.img from under " 2) Save the boot.img to folder of your choice" of flashing cwm ?
Also, the "choose file" option in flashtool isn't there in fastboot mode. There is "select kernel to flash" but it's looking for .sin files and not .img files, am i missing something here ?
I've flashed with cm12, but i'd like a proper recovery and root.

I believe that, by now, you got the answer to this question... Yeah, I don't know why this is happening, you won't have this issue after flashing CM12 / CM12.1 the first time since all the upgrades will be done through Cyanogen Recovery which seems to work ok for updates.
Anyway, you need to remove the first line (pretty long one, so be careful) in the updater-script. You can find the updater script in the CM12/ CM12.1 zip archive, under META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script. If you're running Windows, please, make sure you edit this script using Notepad++, not Notepad.
Hi guys, i have a problem.
I need to prepare my xperia z3 compact to be stock cause i will carry my telephone for repair my glass.
I had tried to relock the bootloader with flashtool but without success.
When i click on "BLU" button, there is the popup, i power off my z3c and then i plug the usb with the volume button down pressed. The pop up with the instructions disappear for 2 seconds and device seems connected.
But after 2 seconds apear another popup:

I've tried to plug the usb cable when i press the menu button (power button, yes?) but device remain powered off and no changement on flashtool.
What is wrong?
Another question: after (i hope) bootloader relocked, how can i restore the drm keys and how can i have a full stock device?
Thank you so much and sorry for my bad english sometimes...
EDITED:
Guys, i am so confused, my bad: i have never unlock the bootloader, so for this i can't reblock it...
So sorry guys
Hiya, when I flash using that boot.img, my phone goes into a restart loop and I have to reflash firmware to have it functional again, losing CWM in the process. Is there another .img file I should be using? I've used both this method and the command line, both causing the same issue, so it's got to be this particular image. Or does this image only work with this firmware? I am updating to 5.1.1....26.
No way to relock bootloader on 6.0 at Z3+ Ivy
Hello guys, I tried to go back to stock today. I relocked the BL using flash tool and flashed 23.5.A.1.291 from https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/list-stock-firmwares-d5803-d5833-t2906706. After that the phone stucks in the Blue-wave starting animation.
Any hints how to get this work? I also like to patch the DRM fix. When should I do that?
Edit: Never mind: Just forgot to wipe appslog in Flashtool ^^

Mi 5s (X unlocking bootloader X) and root

Hi guys,
It turned out this script can't really unlock the bootloader. Although I didn't see it, my phone must have come with an unlocked bootloader.
I did another test on the same script but for Redmi 4X and the result was the same - can't unlock the bootloader.
So the moderators can delete this topic as it now serves no purpose. There are other topics for flashing TWRP and rooting the phone.
I am sorry for misleading you guys...
Here's how to install TWRP and SuperSu.
I'm not responsible if you brick your phone or lose data. I did a test on mine and all worked fine.
Info found here - (https://www.gizdev.com/root-xiaomi-mi-5s-unlock-bootloader/).
What you need:
1. Mi Flash Tool - Link(or just the ADB driver - Link)
2. Flasher ToolKit for Mi 5s - Link.
3. USB Debugging enabled in Developer Options
Install the Mi Flash Tool or the ADB drivers. Windows might tell you the drivers cannot be verified. Click on Yes to continue with the installation.
Unzip the Flasher ToolKit files to a folder on your computer.
Start with FLASHER TOOLKIT Capricorn.bat.
{

}
Hit Enter and this is what you'll see:
First you need to unlock the bootloader, so click on 3. Bootloader Utility. - This only really checks if the bootloader is locked or not. Nothing else.
The program will inform that hitting Enter will restart the phone in Bootloader mode.
Once there the unlocking will begin and you'll see this:
Now the phone will restart.
Once it boots up Android, you can continue with the next step - installing TWRP. Now it's a good time to transfer the SuperSu zip file to your phone. In Downloads for example.
Select the first option - Flash ZCX-TWRP 3.0.2.X for Mi 5s.
The image will be transferred and the phone will be restarted in Recovery mode. It might take a while to load TWRP for the first time, be patient.
Now that you're in TWRP, click on Install, select the SuperSU zip file. Once flashed, go back to Reboot, System.
If something fails:
-The ADB drivers didn't work for me so I installed Mi Flash and unplugged/plugged the phone in the USB.
Check in Device Manager if the ADB drivers are loaded for your Mi 5s. If you don't see anything saying ADB, unplug the phone and plug it back in the USB. Or try another USB port. Or try uninstalling the current drivers and reconnect the phone again.
-If you've closed the Flasher ToolKit and you try to start it again, but nothing happens, open Task Manager and kill/end task the adb.exe *32 process.
- If your phone restarts in Recovery, but all you see is the TWRP logo for minutes, give it about 10 minutes. If nothing changes, restart the phone by pressing and holding the power button. Have you unlocked the bootloader first?
It might have been a good idea to take a camera and shoot every step of the process, but I was testing it to confirm it's working. Hence most of the screenshots are from the web.
Anyway, that's what I can think of right now. If I'm missing something or you can't get it to work, let me know.
yes do it plz
Yes, it's a great ideea. Do it pls.
it will be a good start to have a guide here, you should give all the ways you know, including the first step to unlock by contacting xiaomi, however if you find a guide for a certain section you can link to it (or copy it and add a link so it won't be broken) .
It would also be nice to have a guide for major roms, with some optional steps that not all are aware of, like switching to f2fp
Should be ready now. The good thing is that you don't need to contact Xiaomi to unlock the bootloader.
ok so i did everything you told me
but i fail
first i press the 3 and everything was ok my device is unlocked no problem and its restart automatic
next i go to fast boot... and when i press 1 its show me twrp is install

I'd say the recovery image is not getting transferred to your phone. Do you see a confirmation that the img file was sent over? It usually states how much time it took to transfer over.

ok i did it problem was the adb i install naked adb driver its on know...ok so how i install custom rom? its like my other phones but something new in mounting it seed read only ? i had to change that or something? witch to wipe?
When starting TWRP the very first screen asks if you want to mount the partitions in read only mode or full access. And a check box to never show this again. Have you seen that? If not, try to update TWRP to 3.1.x.x, don't remember the exact version, you can find it here, in the Mi 5s section of the forums.
If you get that working, installing a new OS is pretty easy - go to Install, select the ZIP file with the new OS and follow the instructions. You might want to wipe cache and dalvik to avoid force closures after that.
Usually instructions on how to install a specific OS version are found in that OS's forum section.
i all ready do that bye rename and replace the new twrp in the flash kit folder everything is don... what is the best rom right now to install?
That's really up to your preference. I'm on global developer 7.5.25. Some use LOS.
i tried your guide, but i cant unlock bootloader. After i select option 3, the phone restarts and the bunny appears but after that i only receive the message attached.
Can somebody tell me what i do wrong?
What's your current MIUI version?
I'm on 8.2.1.0 and on computer i have Windows 10. I enabled usb debugging and type on add device account

To be honest I'm not really sure why it doesn't work for you. The phone restarts, so you have the adb drivers.
Here's a little something that deserves a shot - the very first post - http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=525726&extra=page=1&page=2&mobile=2
I'd love to hear back from you if that worked or not.
i make a request to xiaomi to unlock bootloader and they aproved it in 6 hours, so i will try with mi unlock tool when i get home today. i keep you informed. thx
In managed to unlock with official metod.
Trimis de pe al meu MI 5s folosind Tapatalk
I've taken a look at the code in the script and this method WILL NOT unlock your bootloader. This is only useful for flashing TWRP and rooting a phone, if your phone IS ALREADY UNLOCKED. The third picture provided in the original post is incorrect and that will not be printed on the screen. The script does not attempt
Code:
fastboot oem unlock-go
at any point.
You will probably have to go through the official unlock process.

[GUIDE] OnePlus 8 5G ..TMobile..(IN2017) bootloader unlock instant

Disclaimer
While I will assist with any issues resulting from this guide, I disclaim all responsibility and cannot be held accountable for any consequences caused by the use or misuse of this tool or process. This method also will wipe your phone, so please back up your data. I also will disclaim any understanding as to why exactly this works, since this method was developed by someone else, I am just listing the instructions on how to use it. With that being said, understand your personal limits and read this entire guide before starting.
Thanks to the attributed users at the end of this post, to find this method we are waiting for years...
METHOD 1:
Part 1: Requirements:
• To follow this guide you will need
A Windows PC
• Latest MsmDownloadTool for Oneplus IN2017 - Link
• Latest version of platform-tools - Link
• The bootloader unlock.ops file - Link
Plug your phone into your PC using a USB 2.0 port (this is important, USB 3.0 has given me a lot of issues and just doesn’t seem to work all the time) and ensure USB debugging is enabled.
Extract the downloaded platform-tools zip and open the platform-tools folder in a command prompt, and Run adb devices and makes sure your device appears in the list.
Next, extract the instantnoodlet_15_O.16_201001.zip and open up the MsmDownloadTool V4.0.exe inside the instantnoodlet_15_O.16_201001 folder.
When the application opens, select “Others” under the User type dropdown and hit next. Leave this window and the platform-tools command prompt open.
Part II: Entering Qualcomm EDL mode and installing correct QDLoader Driver
Part III: Flash Stock Firmware
In this section, we will flash the stock IN2017 Android 10 firmware.
Click the “Start” button in Msmtool. This will flash the stock firmware, wiping your data. Make sure you have backed your data up at this point. It will take a few minutes, usually ~300 seconds. Once it completes, it will reboot into factory default android 10.
Close MsmDownloadertool and once you are back to android, unplug your phone and power it off.
Part IV: Unlock the bootloader
In this section, we will flash the unlockable firmware and unlock the device for good.
1. Inside the directory with MsmDownloaderTool V4.0.exe, there should be a file called “instantnoodlet_15_O.16_201001.ops”. Remove it from the directory, either by deleting it or moving it to another folder. Then take the unlock.ops file downloaded earlier, and drag it into the directory and rename it to instantnoodlet_15_O.16_201001.ops . It should be in the same folder as MsmDownloaderTool.
2. Reopen MsmDownloaderTool V4.0.exe and like before, select “Others” in the drop down, and click next. Leave the window open.
3. Hold in the Volume up and down buttons, then plug your phone back in. Keep holding the buttons until your phone connects to your PC as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008", like before. Check device manager to ensure that it’s connected correctly as a COM port. If it boots to android, power it off and try again.
4. Return to MsmDownloaderTool. Make sure the phone is still displayed in the list under the associated COM Port.
5. Click start. The flashing should take about 15 seconds, and when complete, your phone should restart. It will display a message at boot saying “<!> The device is corrupt..” Do not panic, this is normal.
6. Unplug your phone and hold Volume Up, Volume Down and Power until the device reboots and let go once it shows the OnePlus Logo and “Fastboot Mode”. You should arrive at a screen that has “Start” in big green letters at the top, and “Fastboot mode” below it, with the very last item saying “Device state - Locked” in red text.
Plug your phone back into your computer.
7. Return to your command prompt window open in platform-tools, and run fastboot devices and ensure your device is in the list.
8. Finally, run the command "fastboot flashing unlock", it should prompt you to confirm unlocking the bootloader. Once complete, it should reboot into Android.
9. Shut the phone off again, and then Hold Volume Up, Volume Down, and Power and let go when the OnePlus logo and “Fastboot mode” shows up on screen. If the final item in the list says “Device State - Unlocked”, Congrats! You have successfully unlocked your bootloader. You can follow your custom OS’s installation guide from here.
If you want to flash back to stock firmware again (relock bootloader), you have to first flash this file (stock.ops) and then flash the bundled stock firmware. It will give a mismatch error if you do not.
So this is essentially the same as the IN2019 guide, just with the IN2017? Sounds neat.

yes. it works after I check allow oem unlocking before flashing the unlock.ops.
and dual sim works on oxygen 11, confirmed using my op 8 pro sim tray.
I see to prevent breaking the dual sim functionality, I have to use custom rom with magisk dual sim patch. But I see the custom roms are now based on oos 12. Can I flash oos 12 first and then to custom rom? will it break dual sim function?
