First of all thanks alot.
My ARC was totally bricked, no fastboot no flash mode even no leds at all.
Trim Area was completely damaged.
Now it's fully working ,I just used fastboot to flash the system and the boot, every thing is working as it should.
Thanks again man.

Alejandrissimo make sure you read setool news about some X10 phones

Succesfull repair SE ARC (LT15i) by Alejandrissimo
Yesterday I wrote a message Aleyandrissimo and already today he contacted me in GTalk.
After discussing some issues and solutions, we got down to business.
What was there before:
My ARC was totally bricked, no fastboot no flash mode, even no leds, has 0% battery issue at all. Trim Area was completely damaged by myself in Omnius.
What happened after:
Now it's fully working. Phone turns on, working fastboot, working flash mode...
The problem with battery solved by kernel patched boot (Bazoocaze & DoomLord).
It all happened quite quickly and I'm glad.
All that I needed was done and for that I thank you Alejandrissimo!
Good luck in all your business!! And thank you for everything!

My Xperia Play was totally bricked but Alejandrissimo brought it back to life. An error proof method of saving your phone.

As advertised...
Easy process... once you get past the "paper clip" part (big fingers, small paper clip!)
Regardless, I am now using my AT&T Xperia Play on Virgin Canada!

Repaired a semi-bricked Experia Arc-S LT181
Today Alejandrissimo repaired my phone:
The problem was a modified HW-config (phps made by Octopus Software) that resultet in a semi-bricked phone after doing further modifications thru setools.
Alejandrissimo found a solution to rebuild the HW-config and did a complete reinstall of the device. (i had to pay some extra bucks for rewriting the HW-config)
Now my device is fully unlocked and working like a charm!
BIG BIG THANKS to Alejandrissimo for helping me out, he did not give up and really wanted to help and not earn fast money.

Cheers!
Thanks again!

best regards from croatia

Sony Ericsson X10 UI

I have one question in my mind since month.
Why don't we have sony ericsson X10 UI for hd2?
Can someone answer me please ?
Thanks erveryone!
Sony's UI is very proprietary and closed. Not only its drivers are completely coded from the ground up, its software is a complete mess because it's dependant of a bunch of "special sony services". I don't think it's possible to extract the Sony applications to use in other systems and if so, I wouldn't recommend it. Having owned an X10, it's a headache and a nightmare to get anything out of that phone...
Ok thanks for your answer too bad we can't use this UI

Sony buying out SE

Here is the article
http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE79Q19J20111027?irpc=932
All I can hope is that Sony changes their policy towards software mods. As things stand now opening the bootloader locks you out of Sony's added value. Maybe they'll fully obstruct tinkering like they did with the older Xperia phones... At any rate, these aren't great news a priori.

software mods ONLY for Phones! i DONT support on consoles!
What's the difference? Now with ics you will be able to plug a gamepad to a phone, dock it if it has hdmi out and it will be a console.
Will you then applaud that Sony or anyone else locks out software modding? It is the only coherent stance you can take.
I doubt they will do that on their phones.. More restrictions will only scare people from buying a sony product. They don't have the market shares to play around with restrictive measures.

Ofcourse theres a diffrence, the only reason to mod a console is to steal games. Sony arnt against software mods. There against piracy.
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
If they're really against piracy, it's hard to understand why they would go with Android, which is the platform which makes it easiest to use cracked software on. Mind you, the thing which has locked me out of using Sony's goodies is not that I've played cracked games, which is something any Android owner can do without modifying anything. What locked me out of them was unlocking the bootloader in their sponsored way.
If they use their DRM on the PS Store as I am dreading they will do, the paradox will be greater: someone can buy the phone on subsidised contract, unlock the phone's bootloader (and the Sim lock with it, remember) with 3rd party software, play cracked games and still have access to every added value offered by Sony (TrackID, the stores, the music Like function, and probably the PS Store). Meanwhile, I, who bought the phone Sim free (and paid full value for it), unlocked the bootloader with Sony's method and don't play cracked games, am excluded of all that.
Piracy is not an issue. Control is. Unlocking the bootloader and rooting the phone makes the phone mine and not theirs... Exactly what Sony is so intent on avoiding on PS3.

Gps/glonass

Hi,
I read that sony ericsson is going to update their 2011 Xperia products so the GPS can additionaly receive GLONASS signals.
as far as I read about GLONASS the signals are quite similar to GPS, so there wouldn't be much to modify.
As I'm quite a noob on the G3's GPS I wanted to ask if anyone knows if it would be possible to add this feature to G3's GPS system too.
1st of all , wrong section to ask.
2ndly , that is hardware modification!
May be possible (hillbest may do it adding new chips or something , he is great hardware dev) , but no one would try that!

He says in the top post that Sony Ericsson are going to UPDATE their Xperia range which means that they are going to give a firmware/software update so i don't think it's a hardware modification unless Sony Ericsson are willing to take back the millions of mobiles they sold, take them apart, add the new modifications and post them back to the owner of the mobile.

As far as i am aware, Sony Ericsson stated that their Xperia line up was already ready with the required hardware to support Glonass, and now only the subsequent software/firmware modifications were needed. I do not think we have the required hardware/chip needed to perform such a function.
Well I would like to correct you guys that first of all it's SONY no more ericsson and second they are going to use that glonass thing in the upcoming xperia lined up.
So no use of this thread I think.!
Sent from my GT-I5800 using XDA App
In fact, it appears that some of the 2011 Xperia range (Xperia arc, Xperia arc S, Xperia ray, Xperia neo, Xperia pro, Xperia PLAY, Xperia active and Live with Walkman) also have GLONASS support with the latest software update.

it's a software update, not hardware. I just wanted to know if one of the devs who already worked with the GPS knows if this can be done on G3 too
anyway as far as I know the signals from the GLONASS satelite is quite similar to the ones given by the GPS satellites. so it might be possible to receive them even with old GPS hardware
GLONASS can be enabled in every phone with Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset...

news: Sony Added XZs and XZP to Open Device Project

Sony has added the Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZs to its Open Device project, allowing you to build and flash your own versions of Android™ N onto those devices. You can find all the resources you need on Developer World
https://developer.sonymobile.com/20...emium-now-part-of-sonys-open-devices-program/
some users unlocked XZP using xz from https://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/
soon XZP will be in the menu... will that affect drm fix ?
I am wandering now can we solve DRM issue?
 @serajr
 @shoey63
 @tobias.waldvogel
Isn't this old news?
They've said before the XZ Premium would be on the list soon™
I can't see how it would make any difference just because you're able to select XZ Premium. You still unlock the bootloader the same way.
No, that makes no difference. Sony bullsh**s us by "opening the XZP to the bla bla bla world bla bla bla" while forcing the restriction of losing DRM on the customers. It's like saying "Your Porsche can now be modified any way you want to - but we'll replace the engine with one we pulled from an old E-bike".

Couldn't agree more!
I will probably choose the next XZ1 Compact (if rumors have become true) and ofc, I will not unlock it until a drm backup/restore/fix/cve-temp-root solution is working.
I really don't mind not having recovery/root bla bla bla at day 1. I can live without my own mods too

Nice to know, that you are on board and all the time with xperia. I've used yout MODs on my older xperia devices
I'm also waiting for a "drm backup/restore/fix/cve-temp-root solution" and than fire up XZP!

I am thinking to change my mobile, and seriously considering XZ , it came out on 6.x and has xploit! and whatever reviews i have read, its still good phone for 2017 and beyond, already running on 7.1.1 and will goto 8 ...
now the question that worries me alot!
will XZ be my last phone with sony?
if there is no DRMFIX Out there! i won't buy XZ successors at all because i cannot live with non rooted droids! they are just too frustrating! all the bloatware even after disabling most of them, they are still sitting in your partition! occupying gbs of your limited storage!
also mods like editing xml files for sound output, processor clocking can only be done when you have rooted phone!
nope! rooted phone is MUST for me!
- if i ever switch to any other droid! SONY is to blame

Well, @jerpelea knows his stuff.
I'd bet that if it was for him, even RIL would be open source.

Unlock bootloader? Custom ROMs?

How hard/easy is it to unlock the bootloader on Xperia devices?
Is there a developer community with custom ROMs such as ResurrectionRemix that might develop for this phone?
It takes a few mins. You go to this site, select phone in the list and then enter IMEI, Email in which you get an email with the unlock code and then you simply enter that code into ADB and done.
Can't answer your second question as that depends on whether or not any devs will get this phone so time will tell I guess.

That's s great site, very well presented.
Let's hope the XZ2P shows up on that unlockable list...
No we xz2 users wait also, like also on the drm fix, 1 week that sony release the source.
@temporarium
1- The unlock procedure is easy and free via official website however the consequences are pretty bad. Unlocking the boot-loader will permanently remove the TA partition on the phone which contains the drm keys files and mess up the camera and many other functions will stop working ,these issues can be temporary patched/fixed by using a custom kernel with drm fix support, if you have no idea about DRM keys, read this quote ..
If you unlocked the bootloader on a Sony Xperia device, you probably know that the potential loss of warranty is not the only disadvantage you have to accept. Another fairly hidden issue is related to various proprietary features such as the X-Reality color management, BIONZ image processor and the active noise cancelling techniques. Once you decide to unlock your bootloader, the process also removes a piece of data referred to as the DRM keys. These are tied to various services (such as streaming video and the like) offered by Sony but are also required for the features mentioned above to work properly. Put simply, once the keys are gone, you’ll face issues such as decreased low light camera image quality and the lack of the X-Reality mode.

Note that on older devices shipped with MM or older Android versions like Xperia XZ there's a hack/exploit that was used to backup that TA partition before unlocking the bootlodaer to restore it later whener there's need to but unfortunately this is not possible since XZ Premium (shipped with Android Nougat)
2- For the developer community for Xperia Phones it really depends on the device popularity for example Z1, Z3, Z5 and XZ premium were quite popular in the last few years and were lucky to have a decent dev community, unlike for example the forgotten XZs, in my personal opinion I see that the devcommunity for Sony devices is way worse compared to other oems for example (samsung, oneplus, htc ...)
