i tried this buddy but whenever i select it to hide , I m not able to dial ne call & as soon as i change it back its dialing again as normal .
i have no problem with that setting and I have also:
ROM version: 1.90.96 WWE
ROM date : 11/01/06
Radio version: 1.13.00
Protocol version: 42.47.P8
ExtROM version: 1.95.05 WWE
but my device is Qtek 9000

I too think so but is there ne reg hack or tool by which i can unblock this feature myself as there is a reg file named as CLIR & i have tried changing values also but still no luck .
This setting is moderated and effected by your operator, not your phone. These are standard phone settings on all phones, but if your operator has disabled it, c'est la vie.

I've created Individual CSC Packages - CWM flashable for i9300/i9305, click here for more info.
Now I've prepared test file for N7100 and I need someone to try if this method works with N7100/N7105 as I don't own this device
EFS backup is required (just in case if something goes wrong..)
CHECK WITH ROOT-EXPLORER IF "/efs/imei/mps_code.dat" IS PRESENT IN ROOT DIRECTORY:
1. if so flash it an report how it goes please
2. if NOT - DON'T USE IT !!!!! and REPORT it ASAP please
CSC_BTU_CWM - it'll change CSC code to BTU(UK) NO Factory Reset required!!
How to install it?? follow instructions from i9300 thread
Another thing is HD Voice on custom ROM, is dialing *#197328640# brings Service Mode?? If so, please check if WB-AMR status exists? Should be inside [UMTS]
If this method works, I'll change this Thread to the same as for i9300/i9305 with loads of CSC_CWM flashable files

It's not that I messed up but CSC changer shows blank box in front of sales code . Can you make one for India? I had myself edited the wanam lite rom to have India CSC by moving the required CSC files and change swconfig and cscversion file. Also the mps_code.dat has inu(that is for india). But still it shows blank.
If you could explain me how to check this wbamr thing. I couldn't figure out. I mean I want help but can't figure what you demand.

First of all can you confirm is there "/efs/imei/mps_code.dat" in your root folder???? THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT TO ME!
WB-AMR is a codec responsible for HD VOICE feature. To make it work, CSC must match your network provider and also HD must be supported by network.
When I dial *#197328640# on my i9305, ServiceMode is activated and there's all technical info, just look for "WB-AMR status" (can be under [UMTS]) and click on it. If it's working you should see:
WB-AMR SETTING: ON
GSM WB: OFF
UMTS WB: ON
I can modify some entries if it doesn't work
CSC_INU_CWM try to flash with this update.zip

Yep mps_code.dat is at the place. But I don't think your method would work because I have replaced all of the files that are found in your zip. But it looks like it makes a nill CSC or I might just be doing it wrong.
As for the wbarm thing it is in WB-AMR status folder or whatever you call it which is 8th in service Mode and yeah it is off. But I don't want the HD voice nor do I know what it is but there is no harm in testing though.

People reported "Unknow" CSC but it's ROM related issue. Flash stock rom and all will be back to normal.

let me know how it goes, to check if it worked properly , use this app and compare your CSC with the one from *#1234#

There must be something wrong with your phone, as I said, it's happening to people who flashing their phones quite often, STOCK CSC changer getting stuck and doesn't work properly anymore. Use Odin, flash STOCK ROM, Factory Reset and all will be back to normal. Later you can root and flash any Custom ROM and your CSC will change every time you flash it with my update.zip
Why did you replaced files? I've asked to flash in CWM recovery or MOBILE ODIN PRO ....

Ok I did try the 1st zip (BTU) operator
Reboot Ok
The /efs/imei/mps_code was modified to BTU after reboot.
I did it too with the XEF.
I install the app Galaxy S / note /SIII CSC and checked that the CSC is XEF : OK
But the WB AMR is not ON
WB-AMR SETTING : OFF
GSM WB : OFF
UMTS WB : OFF

Mate, you need to wake up!! It showing INU because I've gave you INU!!!
Use BTU or XEF or any other just to check if your CSC changed. Later use INU to go back to CSC for India...

Hmm... As I said, HD VOICE activating is tricky, it's a NETWORK FEATURE so not always can be enabled from phone level... everything is enabled in your customer.xml file....
Few people reported that it suddenly started working, maybe it needs a bit of time, network activation....
Thanks anyway for testing it for me. CSC is changing and that's MOST important to me

I had to do a factory reset and after changing CSC to activate HD voice (wb-amr) both on my note II and galaxy S III.

That's the thing, using my method allows changing CSC and enabling WB-AMR (HD VOICE) Without Factory Reset
The only problem is that it's a NETWORK feature and not all providers supporting........
I don't want to use unofficial roms, I just need more languages. Do anyone know how to do that? The methods and apps on google don't work on KIT KAT.
The morelocal2 and language enabler don't work.
And I can't find default.xml to edit.
My device is already rooted.

What is you CSC?
If your phone is using a multi-CSC firmware, you can switch to another CSC to obtain more languages.
Or you can flash another multi-CSC stock firmware to get the language you need (no need custom rom)
Install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app to get your CSC.
You can also use this app to switch the CSC.

Anyone know how to change the region of china dev rom to India. My google services are not working properly due to chinese location. Eventhough changing the region in google app setting feeds are not working. Also the assistant voice is english-uk no option to change it. And i think the voice recognition is not accurate due to this.
Is there any way to change the region in ROM itself.
You simply can't. Chinese rom is for china. If you need to change the region, go for the Global version...

Hey,
First of all you have to root your phone.
Then install Prop editor.
Then go to:
/cust/cust.prop
There you will see some codes like
ro.miui.region=CN
ro.miui.mcc=9404
ro.miui.mnc=9999
ro.miui.cust_variant=eu
Now to change to global, you have to replace the above codes with the following codes:
persist.sys.timezone=Asia/Calcutta
ro.product.locale.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=US
ro.miui.region=IN
ro.miui.mcc=9404
ro.miui.mnc=9999
ro.miui.cust_variant=in
OR
Change the content of the /cust/current/cust.prop with the values from country specific locale and reboot.
your locale/region will become permanent.
