you do know the number of Nexus S users here are on T-Mobile... right?
Basically, until the Sprint stores open, it's all T-Mobile Nexus S users.
I'm getting a Nexus S 4G soon, but I don't really care what carrier it is, since both T-Mobile and Sprint are great.
Soo... will different ROM's have to be developed for the Nexus S 4G, or not? That's what I wonder.

Interested in getting a Nexus S

So yeah, I want to get one, but it came to my attention that there are a few versions of it. So my first question is what version do I need for usage in Europe (Croatia)?
Second, what is the price of that model (new and used)?
And third, what kind of a price drop do you expect after the release of the Galaxy Nexus?
Sent from my GT-I5800 using XDA App
I am in Spain
i bought a new Nexus S cost me 329 euros
all Europe is i9023
personal idea price for galaxy nexus , more than 600 i guess
What about used? Do you have any idea how much a used Nexus S would cost me?
Sent from my GT-I5800 using XDA App
Depends on your bargaining skills but I would imagine you could pick one up for 200-250, second hand.
As qtwrk states, Europe has the i9023 model which comes with an SLCD screen instead of an Amoled. I have one too and it is fantastic.
Nobody knows what the price drop will be after the launch of the Galaxy Nexus, but I wouldn't count on it to be that much. A few phones have passed the NS already with better specs, the Galaxy Nexus will just be another one.

yes, but , i don't think it's gonna be any cheaper than i9100 , i9100 needs about 550 in Spain ...
Why not? The SGSII is better than the Nexus S in about every way, apart from it not being a Google phone.

I would disagree... the sgs2 is only faster and with that said it isn't that much quicker and personally I prefer the size of the nexus s better.

I was referencing to euros, but seriously... check ebay or something and you'll get an indicator immediately.
Or do you want us to find and buy the phone for you?

I bought a new i9023 for $300 from dailysteals which isn't there anymore. Should be arriving soon hopefully.
In the Netherlands you can buy an i9023 new for about 260 euro
I got mine yesterday in Austria for 199€
its such a great phone I really love mine so I say get it!
in China only needs about 1900CNY, about 190euros , and ... i feel it sucks that i bought it with 329euros...
Just get the galaxy nexus on Verizon. It's the best network too.

I bought my nearly new Sprint NS4G on eBay for $220 shipped, last month.
The phone was indistinguishable from new and the seller was a fellow xda member. I'm sure the prices have dropped slightly due to the newer phones that were released.
Bought new Nexus S for 199€ 14 days ago in shop called Saturn in Austria (went by car, 50km away). Look for austrian shop di-tech, also 199€ and you can buy online!

I am ok with rooting and loading custom rom... may be not changing the screen of the mobile that's how I broke the streak
How is the gingerbread stock rom for Atrix 4g.. I couldn't get any review about that.. are they buggy ?
How about the camera, does the atrix 4g stack upto lg optimus camers?
Thanks in advance for your help

Great links ;-)
As regards to what phone, my choice is tha Atrix, had the Nexus s running ICS but it is slow compared to the Atrix also had a streak and you may find coming down in size 5-4 inch screen may take getting used to as did with my friend ;-)
Thanks msd24200 & jonsmith709
I am more inclined towards Atrix... you are right 5inch to 4 inch is going to take a while to settle down. Hopefully the resolution helps?

Personally I'll probably not ever buy another motorola phone as samsung and htc devices have a much larger development following. I had been a big htc fan for years but the atrix looked so appealing with its specs. When the BL finally got unlocked that made it alot better, don't get me wrong. I have liked my atrix!

Thanks msd24200.
I am going to give Atrix a try, however I would need to buy the European model as the US one doesn't work with my network. Wondering if that will be ok for the custom rom? Will I be able to load all custom rom for the European model too?
A lot of the Blur ROMs are AT&T-based, so you'd need to use the RAM fix or Faux's kernel to get full compatibility on an international model.

LG optimus g or Samsung galaxy note 2

The LG optimus g with android 4.2 and the Samsung galaxy note 2 will be coming to sprint and at&t. Now I'm confused as to what to upgrade to lol too much awesome phones to choose from.
What are you guys and girls upgrading to when your contract is up? Or are going to leave sprint?

I wouldn't let 4.2 sway you, it's expected to be a pretty minor release as I understand it.
Im liking the Galaxy Note 2,not much as far as development yet,but its a new phone, soo i'm almost possitive theres gonna be some great things to come for the Note 2.Aside from the great ammenities it already posseses.Plus i like the 5.3" screen and the stylus.
Yea Im thinking the same thing but at the LG optimus g is going to be a nexus phone and its going to have stock jelly bean right out of the box. And I think it a lil bit faster than the note 2 and It looks better.

The Note 2 is also going to have JB out of the box, and all the cool things it does makes it a remarkable device. Enough to overcome the size of the phone, which to me, is a plus. I like a bigger screen

I'm leaning note2 myself. Not a huge lg fan at all. I've thought about sgs3 but why take a 4 month old phone over a newer faster handset.
XDA Moderator
The only thing making want to go to the SG3 is that I can afford it right now. That Wirefly deal is sweet. It'll be sometime next year before the note 2 is as affordable on wirefly and by then, I'll be able to just buy it and sell the SG3
Not completely shore but Google will be announcing it and some other devices I think the 25 of this month

I really like the note 2 more because it has way more software features than the LG, but I like the LG because it looks really nice and the screen.
Do you know if Samsung going to release the source code for note²?

The skin is ugly on the LG, the note screen is bigger and so is the battery... the note all day, but you welcome to go that lg post it..lol

I don't think the LG's UI is ugly, I think its ok but I'm leaning towards the note 2 though. It would be awesome to have both

LG Optimus Nexus

So for a while now I've been waiting for a new nexus to come out because my contract is up in December. However its looking more and more that the rumors are true that it will be made by LG and be based off of their flagship optimus g. The specs for the optimus g are beasty but I'm not sure LG can make a high quality phone. How do you guys feel about an lg nexus and do you think you'll buy one?

I will definitely buy it if its an lg nexus! They always make great hardware but their software is atrocious, but being a nexus that point is moot

Allegedly, there's gonna be a whole line of 5 nexuses (nexii?), with one by samsung, a minor update to the gnex (1.5 ghz a9 dual core). Another would be the lg optimus g nexus (or nexus g) which as you mentioned would be quad core s4 768p, 2gb ram. Another would be the nexus 5 by htc with 1080p, quad core s4, 2gb ram. The new thing about these is that they will have a customization center where you will have the choice of different themes, some of them being manufacturer themes. So an HTC nexus could run sense.

Not sure. It looks like sprint and google are getting closer. Although, it looks like tmo is definitely getting it soon since they cancelled the one x + which means there's something better coming (since its probably not bug related because its being released on other carriers worldwide). That doesn't mean sprint can't be soon though. It does surprise me that lg made their optimus g so close too the nexus release. Idk if the nexii would have a coordinated launch either where each are released together worldwide. They may be staggered over the next few months or so.

out in korea. but it's a mixed reception. a very good phone by lg's standard but the software's still a bit of a downside.
hardware benchmarking beats all the android competition out so far.
but must add, american models always have some kinda variance to the original so they might change a few things. seeing that an lg nexus is coming out at around the same time, seems quite likely too.
