2.Boot into recovery mode (CWM)
3.Wipe cache and dalvik cache (CWM)
4.Mount system before installation.
5.Navigate with the volume button, then choose install zip from sdcard
6.Choose zip from sdcard
7.Select the zip file you've downloaded and click yes
8.Wait till the installation complete then reboot your phone.
Note: First boot may take little longer than normal boot, hence please wait.
Download:
OS 2.3.4 S5830DDKQ6_Deodex_full @ 4shared.com (73 MB)
Overscroll Glow + Battery Mod + CRT Animation:
Note: If you have SAMSUNG (stock) bootanimation, then please use any custom boot animations before you install below mods. (Have look @ my signature for boot animations). Because this mod will erase SAMSUNG boot animation.
If you are using CF-ROOT, then you don't need to worry as CF-root already has custom boot animation.
1. Download attached file and unzip it
2. Use root explorer or similar app to move downloaded files to system/framework
3. Set permissions for both files appropriately to rw-r--r-- (644)
4. Reboot
Note: Boot may take little longer, don't panic just sit and relax.
Enable CRT Animation:
After completing above process, please follow these steps to enable CRT animation.
1. Long press build.prop from /system folder and open in text editor.
2. Modify this line
'debug.sf.hw=1' by adding # in front of debug, now it should look like mentioned below
'#debug.sf.hw=1'
3. Save and exit by pressing right soft key (this will backup your original build prop as build.prop.bak)
4. Reboot device
5. After reboot go to settings -> display -> animations and choose some or all animations.
Backlight Notification patch:
What is BackLightNotification?
The BackLightNotification mod converts the touchkey backlights into a notification led for sms, touchwiz email, gmail, gtalk and any other app which supports BLN.
For Calendar: Download "Calendar notifier" app from market
For Calls: Download "BLN control - Pro" app from market
1. Download attached file (Flash DDKQ6-services.zip)
2. Clear cache and dalvik cache
3. Flash through CWM
4. Reboot
Enjoy...!!!

Basically this will change your system apps and framework from odex to deodex, so its better to take backup first.

there is much of a unallocated space about even the general things in people..
and here by asking this and getting such replies they might have felt something but there is still unallocated space..i mean that particular question is still unanswered..!!

well about this deodex its not working for me...
when i was on ddkq6 last week i flashed this update.. cleared dalvik and cache before...
installation do not show any difference but as i see there are no changes in system/app..
i believe .odex files should get removed or i have to remove them manually or flash is not working only ?

Did you mount your system before flashing this update? If you don't, then it will not work.

CRT animation, 5% Battery Mod and overscroll glow for DDKQ6 has been added to first post..

Thanks for the feedback. I have removed boot animation thread and I suggest all other users to have custom bootanimation before installing this mod.

Currently i dont think any boot animation will work on kq5. aint know about applying it on a rom with cf-root. diliban can u make a tutorial for that. and dude i think we should start a noobs guide for kq5 and kq6.

Request for boot animation

A friend of mine with a Droid 1 is running a rom called project elite. He showed me a boot animation that's part of the rom that started with an Apple logo, then it zoomed out and had the android robot eating it. Was brilliant.
Anyone know where I can get it or how I can get this on my Fascinate?
Download the ROM, extract the bootanimation.zip file from it (look in system/media) and put it in the /system/media folder on your phone. If you post the zip here, I'm sure someone could make a CWM zip for you to make it easier to put on your phone. Also, if there is a sound with it, look for that as well, system/etc/PowerOn.wav if it's in the same place that our boot sound is at.
Thanks! I'll see if I can get the zip from him. The rom has the setting built in to choose what boot animation you wanna use, and there were like seven included with it. Would that make it harder to extract the one I want? I assume there would be multiple ones packaged in there
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I want that animation! In answer to your question it should not pose to be more difficult, but it may add for some good extra animations.
i used to beta for project elite ...let me know if you cant get out of the rom ...ill get them directly from the dev
edit: get the cwm version below
Here's a CWM zip for it. Only change is that I removed the Thumbs.db file from the zip let me know if it doesn't work.
You're awesome, imnuts. Was going get on this today, but you beat me to it and then some.
The zip worked fine and the boot animation is great, by the way. Thanks again

install with CWR.
Does the zip file need to be on the root of the sd card ?
Tried to install from Clockwork Recovery
Used "install zip from sdcard" and navigated to the zip file
Install shows complete but it is still the same old boot animation.
Running DB-DO froyo and have updated CWM
Thanks for any help
I absolutely love this boot animation, thanks!
so after digging around a few different places it looks like the EB01 kernel doesn't support the boot and shutdown animations. waiting on release of source code so we can have a custom kernel ?
zipgunjny:
Are you running the stock eb01? JT has a "hack" that he used to enable the boot animations for the custom roms. Follow imnuts instructions on where the bootanimation.zip is located.
Its the debloated-deodexed eb01. Searched for jt's hack without any luck. Any hints on finding it? Thanks again for the help. Tired of the verizon boot and shutdown animations

Finally got it. Flashed the super clean 2.6 kernel and viola, the custom boot animation is working. Now to replace the shutdown animation. Thanks for the help.

Any ideas or suggestions? I'm new to this stuff. I'm rooted with 2.1 firm and 2.6.29 kernel. Haven't really modded much except for moving some bloat apps to my SD card
this is awesome! thank you.
-now kind of off topic, but will this work on the SGS Captivate as well, or should I have one of the dev's in their forum answer that for me?

Nexus S i9020a + CM7

Can someone please direct me to the a step by step guide on how to Root and put CM7 on the Nexus S i9020a variant? Most of the stickies are for the T-mobile version and Its getting to be a bit confusing on which guide to follow. Please help this noobie!!!
use gingerbreak then rom manager it's that simple
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765
Quick note once you install CM7 do not use the 2g/3g feature it will break your 3g
Break 3g? as in damage it permanently? Thanks for the link for gingerbreak so basically that will root my nexus s then I can install CM 7 with out any special instructions since it has different radio compared to the tmobile version?
i used gingerbreak then rom manager to install clockwork recovery and CM7. Do some reading the 3g bug for I9020A has been discussed a few times. Just stay away from the 2g/3g toggle and everything will be fine. I don't think it permanently breaks it just is a pain in the A to fix. I have a I9020A and this was the simplest way I've found.
don't we have to flash a clockwork compatible kernel first, before flashing cm7?
Also, doesn't clockwork rom manager fail on sns? I have cwr from the main stickies, but rom manager doesn't see it (it works), and can't download roms, unless cwr from rom manager, which I heard fails.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
So I downloaded CM7 7.0.2 - and gapps - flashed in order (nandroid first) and voila! no hastle! This ROM is great!
No, those are the only steps i took
CM7 comes with its own AOSP kernel. Just flash the rom, you'll get the kernel bundled. (Of course you can always use a great kernel from the developers thread) don't forget to flash gapps.

He means don't use the 2g/3g toggle widget as that will cause some problems, it hasn't been fixed yet. If you do want to change it though, do it manually through the settings.

Follow one of the root guides, all you really need to do is unlock the bootloader and install Clockwork Recovery.
Once that is done, download the zip for cm7 and use CWM to flash it.

Agreed, but it's a matter of getting the correct CWM image for our phones. Also, for people who are setting up their phones for the first time, the drivers needed for fastboot need to be installed, fastboot/SDK needs to be downloaded etc...
Hence why i referenced the rooting guides.

Yep, it's just the color you want your recovery to be. I flashed the cyan a couple of days ago for somebody else and no issues.. typical clockwork recovery
So I flashed the recovery file, but when I boot into recovery now, there's just the triangle with the ! in it and nothing happens.. did I do something wrong?

in the trulyclean's zip file there wasn't any of these files which means that the script executes a command that does the job .

Code:
delete_recursive("/system/media/video");
So, it should have left you with no boot animation rather than stock.

the phone is rooted but I haven't installed any custom recovery.
I thought i could be possible to grab someone's backup system archive and use the xdabbed apk to restore default applications.
Actually I should describe a bit more the problem, the camera is there, the player is there but the gallery has disappeared.
There is an LGgallery.apk that comes with xdabbed package but i can't install it. When I try a manual install (just launch the apk), it is just telling me that the app couldn't be installed.
hope we can do something from it, otherwise I'll install a custom recovery and follow any advises you might have,
Thanks,
The thing is:
I can provide you with a restore package(also apk) but I wouldn't advise it. (it's unsafe replacing files on a LIVE android system)
If something happens and you don't have a custom recovery then your only solution is to flash a kdz.
So the best thing would be to install recovery.
If you want the apk I'll send it to you, until now it worked 2 of 2 times for restoring. Again..i would advise the recovery.
+you don't install the lggallery.apk, you copy it to /system/priv-app and chmod 644
first delete the lggallery.odex

Ok so i replaced the old LGgallery, remove the odex, changed permission and reboot but no luck with that.
installing a custom recovery sounds quite complex and I am ready to take a risk and try your archive. (hope it'll do the trick)
Otherwise I'll resort to install a recovery,
Many thanks

Since you are already rooted.
first: download this
It's the flashable zip for the camera(thx to bruce) (put it on sdcard(internal storage))
then
1. AutoRec d802 You say you've got the d802 right ? Then this one.
Install..Run..Press YES. Allow permissions. Press Flash, wait.. When it says it's done then it's done.
Then press "to recovery" see if it reboots. If it does, you should see TWRP..just press install zip, choose the newly dloaded file.

Download and Install the OTA, you will loose your ROOT AND RECOVERY but not the data. That is the easiest way.
plz elaborate the process, i am new to it.
and one more question : what if i do OTA normally(over wifi).
with custom recovery and xposed OTA will fail and maybe soft brick.

You have two (best I think) solutions:
1) Get back to stock and download OTA... before you do that, download Titanium Backup, backup your apks with it's cache so you won't have to set them up or start games from beggining... to backup messages etc you can use My Backup Pro, for calendar and contacts synchronize your Google account
2) Try to "get back to stock" as near as you can and try OTA... if it fails, it's not difficult to recover from softbrick

in the link I posted OTA HELP DESK is all well explained.
I was in your same situation (stock + franco kernel+ TRWP recovery + Xposed) and i have just installed the OTA. This is what I did:
1- Uninstall Xposed (from inside the installer)
2- Uninstall Cerberus app (because in some cases it modifies system)
2- Flash stock kernel
3- Flash OTA in recovery
* It failed because Franco kernel modifies /system/lib/hw/power.msm8960.so --> so renamed power.msm8960.so.bak to power.msm8960.so
4- Flash OTA in recovery
5- Flash TRWP recovery
6- rooted

in the link I posted OTA HELP DESK is all well explained.

I'm not sure, but your situation may need 'Scenario #2' (+ uninstalling Xposed)
can anyone else conform me on this:

suggested(http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/info-nexus-4-ota-help-desk-t2145848) :
Section B: Flashing in a custom recovery
1) Download the OTA.zip and copy to your phone.
2) Boot into recovery.
3) Flash the OTA just like you would a ROM.
4) Reboot.
i am not sure that xpose modifications come in this condition or not

yeah, you need to uninstall Xposed too (from within the app, not like uninstalling normal apps). Then you can reinstall and have all modules and config untouched.
