[Idea]a massive purchase - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

why not organize a massive purchase of this phone?

From where? Clove?

I'm down, better make it snappy though.

yeah, maybe Clove, £500 exc vat
or handtec £478.99 exc VAT
even ebay.... US $979.00

Oh mate, the cheapest price now is about 450 ponds plus VAT. Are you going to pay more for group purchase? Also, you have to re-arrange the postage. So......
On the other hand, those online stores have plenty pre order already. So, there is no negotiation space.

Yeah, you'd obviously wanna go through Samsung or their main distributor lol
Best I found is $778 and that's better than any place in the UK but now it's looking like AT&T may get it someday soon.

obviously the case is to see a store who has to go right out and negotiate with buyers certain amount of what would be the discount, it is silly to think that you pay more ..

Lapdock <$90

Already posted this in the marketplace but just to let people know, Amazon has a bunch of listings for lapdocks that are under $90. I was pissed that I missed the 1saleaday deal and I've been looking for a good deal ever since. Looks to me like the people who hopped on that deal are reselling. Haha. Anyway thought I'd let people know.
Dunno where you are getting under $90 from. Did you look at the prices with shipping added?
Sort by price and shipping and you get $110 as the cheapest new one. Cheapest used is $106 with shipping. Cheapest even with free shipping is $110.
Better off looking on EBay.

Doesn't look much like an April Fool to me since if you actually GO TO Amazon they have advertised 41 new FROM $88.95. If someone wanted to April Fool this they would be posting more of a price difference than $15 from the real thing. Think you just punked yourself!!!
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=atrix+4g+lapdock
If you then click on their link you get the real pricing. Amazon has things priced in this way all the time!
Bye!
No April Fools.
Amazon displays their featured merchants first so the $100+ prices you are seeing are from their established sellers.
Scroll down and you'll see the ~$90 lapdock listings.
Hope that helps out!
I can sell u one for 100 shipped within US. Brand new never used.

Don't think so, sorry.
Damn good price!
This might be a first for when the CDMA variant will go for more used than the GSM. I'd imagine used prices will start dropping on these rather quickly, especially the docomo version.
CDMA Galaxy Nexus's will be $200 used in no time.
I would say the GSM will be about $300 and the white being $350-400 probably.
shipping + tax makes it 437 to FL.
not buying it as I already have one ...
Yeah. same price its always been on ebay once you add the tax and shipping...
Can you use MEdia Net with these on at&t?

Weird. Usually American sites allow Canadians to at least purchase it online and get it shipped to somewhere in America. I personally live close the the border and go over all the time so it's pretty normal for me to purchase things online and ship them to America and pick it up when I'm in America every week or two.
Ah well, I imagine I'll be able to with proxies or something.
yes $437 to Florida that is a copy of my checkout webpage
For me it was only 409.50 w/ shipping, tax said 0.00, I didn't go any farther than complete this purchase though.
Thinking about going for it.

Care if you are importing the phone!

Hello, I made this thread because I ordered my Samsung GS3 int version on ebay (I'm from Canada) and they sent it with DHL... Now I have to pay 120$ for custom fees... Every ****ing time I used DHL for shipping I had to pay for custom fees even for something FROM Canada, maybe they are quick but having to pay 120$ + 50$ shipping + 750$ for the phone is a bit too much, for that price I could have picked the 32gb version... So yeah just try to avoid DHL, I'm not saying that if you don't take DHL you wont have to pay for custom fees, but if you choose DHL be sure you'll have to pay an extra

Because it was marked for fedex shipping on ebay but the seller told me it's because DHL option is not available on ebay so yeah, it was said somewhere on the item description (something like 500 - 1000 lines) but I haven't seen it.

If the ebay seller listed fedex and sent it through dhl which costed you additional 120 bucks, you are entitled to a refund as per buyer protection program from ebay.

Do we get taxed?

I'm located in BC, Canada. Does anyone have experience to buying google devices on play.google.com?
Those of you in Canada, did you have to pay tax? Or is it $309 outright?
One more question, can we preorder the phone or do we have to wait til Nov 13 to buy the phone online?
Thanks~!
I'm sure there will be taxes collected somehow... as for when we order I'm not sure. Hoping earlier then the 13 so we get it on that day. So in other words a pre-order.

When you place your order it will be from Google Canada Corp. You will be charged HST and shipping. There are no pre-orders.
Thanks for the promptly replies! I think I'll buy it in stores to save on the shipping. How soon do you think Futureshop or Bestbuy will start selling the N4? Right on the 13th?
Thanks~!
Doubt it. Maybe 2-7 days after. There hasn't been any leaked info about anyone carrying it in stores in Canada yet. Same with carriers. The only carrier that I have seen that has any info on if they will be carrying it is tmobile. That's it.
I could be wrong tho.

For profit. They know people will pay $20 or 30 more because they won't buy it online. You might be able to price match it if your lucky.

Well hopefully it won't be too expensive... When I got the nexus 7 from best buy when it first came out, they charged the same as play store (259 CAD).
$403.20 after tax

btw, anybody here on wind/mobilicity?
As an employee of best buy in Canada I can tell you that the company won't be selling the phone outright. (Galaxy nexus wasn't sold either) Makes absolutely no profit (all profits come from activations not phone sales) so your best bet, and mine, is the Google play store.

I didn't make any profit from selling my S3 ;'(
UK buyer here. I was under the impression that the £279 for the 16 gig included tax.
After having another look on the "Devices on Google Play Terms of Sale (Great Britain)" page it states:
All prices include VAT.
All applicable taxes will be presented at checkout, even if they are not displayed on the product page.
So what is it, the price shown includes VAT, or it doesnt and an extra 80 quid will be thrown on top of the 279?

Where can I buy the G2 in Manhatten?

Im not sure when this thread belongs, so I will just throw it in the G2 help forum.
Im will be flying to Manhattan and looking to buy the device once I get there. I want to step into a store and buy the device, however the prices are much higher tha Amazon. For example, I saw a 90$ price difference between Amazon and Best Buy.
Can anyone tip me on where can I buy the device in Manhattan, but in Amazon prices?
Thanks a lot in advance
I bought mine on eBay for 300, it would likely be more expensive in stores. And knowing NY you have to consider the sales tax...Anyway you can find it at T-Mobile, AT& T, Best buy, Verizon, etc.

If I buy via Amazon and have it sent to New York, will I get charged MSRP somehow? Will it have to be paid to the courier?
If not, then why would anybody buy in stores when everything can be bought via Amazon who are cheaper and have great customer service?

Peoples want it instantly and don't want to wait for shipping, rush shipping typically boosts the price to similar levels, also returning an online item is more of a hassle.
As far as I know Amazon usually charges taxes for all or most items in New York. Before it was dependant on where the seller was shipping from but Amazon is large enough that it would bring governmental and legal oversight if they didn't charge tax.
I'd honestly just purchase it from an official Att and Verizon store just to avoid any future trouble or warranty issues. A lot of the g2's on Amazon are the unlocked international version.

I would really rather just buy from a store, because waiting for a package to arrive to the hotel will be make me worry all the time that it will actually arrive on time before my trip ends, etc.
Do you know of some store in Manhattan where I can try this approach?
