[Q] Anyone working on ice cream sandwich 4.0 for ZTE Blade? - Blade General

Hi to all our dear developers,
I have started this thread to ask who all are working on development of Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for ZTE Blade?
In case you need any support in testing the ROM, I would be more than happy to volunteer.
Best,
Yatin

the honeycomb sdk was compiled for arm v6, the ics sdk was compiled for arm v7. zte blades only have an arm v6 processor.
so, we need the source code so that it can be recompiled for our arm v6 phones. There's a little bit more to it than that, so don't expect ics for the blade on the same day as the source code is released, but we need the source code before we can start work on a blade version.
hopefully we'll get a working port of cm9 (which will be based on ics).

It did & it's already being worked on by one of the guys responsible for cm7 on the blade. It's still early & lots of problems so far, but it boots.

I do, but I think he's pretty busy. Last I heard there were still some big problems to fix, like audio.

once he's worked it out the source code for cm9 will be available, then you can use that.
using the aosp source code, once you have it booting there are still other problems to fix, like the touch screen, audio & ril.
everyone involved with cyanogenmod should be very busy fixing those problems, so it's best to leave them to it if you can't help them. they don't need to be bothered with questions.

You don't install it, The source code is needed to build a custom kernel, but either enable overclocking or generally tweaking it to improve performance. You need the Android SDK to compile a kernel.
But, can we get the OS from this source or it's just the kernel?
Sent from my GT-S5830B using XDA App
Install Linux eg Ubuntu, down it, build it directly or git AOSP source then build.
My computer is unstable, or I can use it to port CyangenMod. But I have git AOSP source, I might try to build one. However, how to flash the built is a big trouble...
been trying to dowload this for a whole day. each time only got 10kBps speed, and resulting in timeout. also cannot resume. wth samsung????
Went well for me so here's my upload

[Q] Fully working CyanogenMod 7 for x10 pls!

Hi! I just want to ask if its possible to make a fully working CM7? The new Gingerbread is out so all the sources are avilable. Or not? The current CM7's have no camera and a few bugs. The official GB have camera and all...
Is this possible for now or have we to wait until GB x10 is rooted? It would be great to have a great CM7 with all working!
Thx! Ákos
I am also searching for this

It should work with the sources from the prerooted ROMs, just a matter of time for someone to port this over. The sources were released a few days back, so a little bit of patience is in order...

Wrong word, drivers, working kernel... Either way, asking for it isn't likely to make it happen any faster is it?

erm MIUI is developed by chinese developers and we cannot make our own as they dint release their sources.
MIUI is designed for armv7 devices and yours is armv6 so even if they do release their sources it would be very very hard

Actually no it wouldn't, because if they released their sources, we can modify it to work with armv6 by using v6 source, whereas it isn't that simple modifying already compiled binaries.
Yes, but, it will be great if we create ROM just for GT540, MIUI style and with new kernel..
That would be great!

But we can't, this has been mentioned before, use the search box. Unless MIUI Developers release the source, we cannot build this ROM. Also, if you are so desperate for a ROM, then try it yourself, don't pester developers just because you won't try.

Hehe, couldn't agree more... there are plenty of perfectly fine ROMS already out, and developers are working hard on those.
You need to find a developer that wants this ROM as bad as you... as unfortanatly, no one else has the time to specalise in this for you. (Or just learn to do it ya'self, which is kinda what motivated all the current developers)

Samsung Galaxy S II IceCreamSandwich (ICS) SDK port

Shweet!!!!! If I knew how to code..I would surely help you!(If you have anything easy to work on..do tell )
I will die for it IceCream!!! the camera speed is so fast..
Using Gingerbread as a base presumably?
Given the amount of "non-standard" hardware in the SGS2, you'll need support libs from either an existing non-AOSP OEM firmware, or from CM7 won't you?
great.. i hope u will port in a bunch of days

Lol no he can't. There isn't a FULL system dump of the Galaxy Nexus yet. There is only the dump from the SDK. He will probably theme it like Ice Cream Sandwich. Anyways good luck to the dev
source is the power, says cyanogen. wont this be useless when the sources are released? wont this feel like wasting cuz when sources is released, other devs will easily make those ICS roms, instead of porting it.
well anyway good luck to the dev!

That's not the point. Of course, a dump would be a lot better. But being the first to port and get a working SDK rom... Now that's where the fun is
It is possible, we have the full SDK ROM.

I for one don't see this working as every device seems to be getting the same LibC error at the moment (except for some reason the G2).
The best hope seems to be getting a HC rom to work then using the boot.img from that to boot the ICS sdk port. (this is what we believe happened with the G2 to get it to boot)
I would be satisfied with the new gmail application including widget
Cheers!
Looking to try .Hope you have a great ICS.

Adreno Libraries for ARMv6

As this phone has a working ICS port you should know that Qualcomm recently released Adreno 2xx drivers for Ice Cream Sandwich. But unfortunately the drivers released were compiled only for armv7 not armv6.
So all armv6 devices with ICS ported are having an unofficial ICS port with a hack to provide hardware acceleration.
This means our phones will never have 100% hardware acceleration in ICS and also not get OFFICIAL CM9 support as they dont allow use of any hacks or patches in their ROMS.
The ICS port on OptimusP500(which i use) is almost bugfree and we were left from getting the official support from cm9 due to this very reason.
sweetnsour has made this groubal, a petition for the Qualcomm guys to look into and thus compile the drivers from ARMv6
THIS WILL BE THE LAST CHANCE TO BREATH NEW LIFE INTO OUR ONCE AWESOME DEVICES.
I hope you guys will sign this groubal showing your support. Your one signature will definitely help us to show Qualcomm that there are many many users still using Armv6 devices..
