HTC HD2 Unbrick/Deat Boot Repair!Free for the first 3 XDA Members! - HD2 General

My Dear Friends,
Hope you are having an awesome time at XDA Dev , I'm a frequent visitor here and I should say this is the only forum extending full support towards windows mobile platform based mobile phones as well as alternative operating systems for the same.
As for this thread , I have completely undergone the frustration of bricking my HTC , and thus completely understands how one feels when their ones brick as well , therefore I wanted to help as much as I can to help the community as I am able to unbrick as the following Models:
HTC Models:
Chief
Desire
Diamond
Diamond

All the above HTC Mobile Phones are able to be Unbricked or Dead Boot Repaired by me especially HTC HD2 , which I had my own experience of mine being bricked and brought back to life.
This service is open to anyone out there who needs help to Unbrick their bricked/dead mobile , and I'd be glad to assist them in anyway and help the community.
The first 3 members who require assistance would be given priority and please do post on this thread the Model of Your Mobile Phone and the issue you are facing with , and I'd be glad to help you out.
In order to Unbrick or Dead Boot Repair your HTC mobile or any other on the list , you will need to send me the Motherboard of Your mobile as it involves directly programming your Boot via means of JTag tool , if you are having trouble Disassembling you can courier the entire mobile phone.
Shipping could be done through DHL/FEDEX/UPS or any other means safe.
The first 3 Members will need to either ship their dead/bricked mobiles or the motherboards of the same and also sort out the cost for reshipping fees back to then. I WILL NOT CHARGE A SINGLE PENNY FROM THEM.
Others can send contributions of $30 onwards + Shipping chargers for future unbricking services.
If your HTC is not covered by warranty , I believe I can help , but if is covered by warranty and serviced by HTC then I believe it's best that you try and sort out the issue with them if you like or you can if you want send it to me if they don't provide any kind of support to you , do send to me only if they don't provide any means of support for your mobile , as sending it to me will void warranty with them.
If you have any further questions and concerns feel free to contact me on MSN/YIM: [email protected] or send me a PM here.
Thank you very much!

Lol, I don't think he meant you but the OP who IS asking people to send phones and also has only 1 post, and if you ask me (not that you did but ill opinionise anyway) you'd have to be mental to send him your phone without a good deal of proof of identity.

Voided Warranty and now need a repair - Yorkshire

Hi there, I have been a member for a while now but never posted before!
I have followed many of the hints, tips and suggestions on this forum and have had a great time with my O2 XDA mini s but now find myself needing more help !
In fixing my mini s stylus issue I voided the warranty. A couple of weeks ago a colleague managed to knock a screwdriver into the empty battery compartment. I was swapping the sim card but got called away. The screwdriver pierced the sticker giving the IMEI number and damaged the electrical component under it. The component is labelled 3R3.
After calming down and restarting the mini s, all was ok apart from the backlight which would not work at all. I took my phone to a local phone repair shop who had it for a week then said they could not fix it as it needs a new mainboard - typical !
I have spoken with O2 who will charge me £17.50 to send my phone off to a company called A Novo who (I was told) will then send it back unrepaired as the warranty is voided. Totally pointless.
Does anyone know where I might be able to get my mini s repaired or has anyone got a broken mini s with a good mainboard they are willing to sell me ?
thanks
If you send it to Anovo they can quote you for a non warranty repair, this way you will know whether its worth while paying for the repair. BTW Anove are based in Norwich. I believe there is a link form the o2 xda web site that has a contact number.
Hope that helps
LB
LB,
thanks for the reply.
I have had a hunt through the o2 XDA site but cannot seem to find any reference to Anove. I have even googled them and not found anything like.

AlanJC,
thanks - i'll get straight on to them.
Has anyone else used them? If so what are they like ?
Cheers
These people seem ok.
I did not actually need to use them in the end so I can't tell you what they are like, but give them a try.
They are authorised repairers for HTC models.
If you contact them and explain the fault, they will give you a quote before they carry out the work.

Good Luck!
If nothing works out for you, I've got a almost like new main board lying right here on my desk! I purchased a damaged wizard to grab a part out of it i needed for mine but the main board is still in perfect shape. I could sell it to you with or without the camera, your choice. PM me if interested.

Apex laptops are overpriced and most definatley NOT HTC authorised - most of their 'parts' come salvaged from broken units. Check their website. Then go elsewhere...!

Thanks for all your replies.
I am following up all the options. I'll let you know what I find - if you're interested!

Depending on where you are in Yorkshire, you could take your device to Bulmers second hand shop in York on a wednesday or saturday and ask for 'Dave' - big guy with glasses. He does board level repairs on xda's but is usually quite busy.

Apex laptop
Apex laptops do not use parts from broken pda's. They come direct from factory. I bought a new XDA II case and it is perfect!
i would highly recomend them.
they are not overpriced either. they say if you find a price cheaper elsewhere they will beat that!
check it out http://www.apexlaptops.co.uk/HTCspares.htm
hope this helps someone.

Ok, then why do they have Qtek 2020 boards listed - if they came direct from HTC they would have no reseller rom flashed to them. Trust me, I know. They alos charge £295 for this board! MORE THAN A COMPLETE DEVICE.
They also list the housing at £25 and the front bezel at £30, battery cover at £15 and aeriel cover at £15 = £85.
I sell the complete housings on ebay for the himalayas / alpine for £25....and they are the entire housing inc the battery cover!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130015502288
So you don't think that much of a massive markup is overpricing? £85 from them or £25 from me. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm............
So, I state again, they are OVERPRICED.

Hi folks,
Allow me to intoduce myself.
I am the Service Manager for a UK based laptop and PDA repair company, Apex Laptops. With regards to the PDA repair side of our company, we specialise in mainly iPAQ PDA's but are finding a large number of people wanting HTC repairs.
We have tried many sources to obtain parts, the most unhelpful being 02's actual XDA repair center, ANOVA.
We are trying to find a company or people who would like to give / sell their broken / unwanted HTC's to us. Working or not, we do not mind.
If you know or have any information which may be of use to us, we will certainly be most grateful.
Thanks for your time and hopefully look forward to speaking to you soon.

So the 'highly recommended' in the above posts for apexlaptops - comes from APEXLAPTOPS. And they want to buy up your broken PDA's for parts.....
Apex Laptops
I tried Apex Laptops with no success. I emailed them with the details and received an email back saying someone would be in touch soon. Several days later I received another email asking for a little more detail. I sent the reply and have heard nothing since. I even emailed them with prompt for my estimate! Just nothing from them.
On the other hand, fluffcat1 and Dave in York have been more than helpful. I can recommend them both

Dave says it's all working now as well - I've dropped the rear casing bits off today - was trying for last sat but was busy, sorry, my fault.
Bet he's a lot cheaper than Apex 'we need to replace the entire mainboard' laptops as well  who incidently have deleted the thread I quoted from above but not the other posts they previously made - go on, have a search!...

Bear this in mind when considering Apex Laptops for parts or repairs! And also that they recommend their own company ( see above ) without full disclosure of their position within said company. Me, I'm bricking it now, honest....

LMAO!
Obviously making no comment about a specific company here, but as a general statment...
Should a person, say, a Service Mananger, for a company visit a forum, not disclose that they work for said company, while making comments about them, you would think "hey, that's immoral". You could well be right.
Should that person LIE about the company, say for example, making a false claim that they are a customer of said company and give glowing FALSE praise, you'd probably be inclined to wonder about just what kind of a business it is. You'd be right to think that. That hypothetical situation would be incredibly shady, outright immoral, and quite possibly an illegal business practise.
A little flag should also be waving in your head saying "hey why does this hypothetical person need to pretend to be a satisfied customer? surely if they are an honest and trustworthy company they will have actual satisfied customers, and have no need to lie and decieve."
Shold said manager at the company in one thread be calling for people to send them broken phone parts for use as spare parts, yet in another vigourously (while lying and pretending to be a customer!!!) deny that they use parts from broken phones... you'd just be thinking "WTF! Why aren't these people being invesigated by the local coppers?" That'd be a fair question.
In this hypothetical situation, I would advise people to seek the advice of the local trading standards or police, to determin the legality and correctness of this deciet.
Of couse, as I've stated, this is all hypothetical and unrelated to this thread. No idea why I've posted it here, sorry. We have NO such immoral persons falsely claiming to be satisfied customers.
I apologige profusely for this post that is unrelated to the thread and the posted comments within.
b19dmj, does your part looks like attached? Part size is about 3*3 mm.
Hi, yes it looks like that but has 3R3 stamped on it.
I would just like to thank everybody on the forum who posted info to help me.
I am happy to report my Mini s is now back in my clumsy paws and is as good as new! - Special thanks to Dave - the Phone man at Bulmers in York (a real hero !) and to Fluffcat1 who pointed me in the right direction and helped out with any parts needed. I recommend both these gents.

Anyone got an HTC Taiwan contact - email preferably!

Hi Guys,
I want to produce some peripherals for the Ameo (X7500) and duly phoned HTC Europe just now. It seems that the only place that developers can get information is HTC HQ in Taiwan! Has anyone got a contact there? Or even is there an HTC person on these forums?
I require some pinout information only. Thanks Guys....
I have an address to write to by snail mail but that seems ludicrously slow!
If anyone from HTC is reading this maybe you can help?! After alll the more peripherals there are the better the sales of the unit itself! Plus some may work with other HTC units...

Cool, thanks man!
Reply already from Taiwan. The email has been forwarded to the correct Tech department who will reply with the details I requested! Woohoo - soon a decent keyboard!
Then thee device really can be used as a small substtute for the laptop in meetings and stuff!
Wow a RUBBISH reply from HTC Taiwan - I have replied again saying they are being stupid as they restric Athena sales due to limited peripherals and see what happens:
[FONT=&quot]Thank you for your inquiry.
Due to confidential reason, we're afraid HTC couldn't inform you relative pin-out information for the connector. However, here is another device which may meet your requirement. Please check our website as below. Hope it would be helpful.

I think it was because they failed to fix it twice. Then they lost it the 3rd time when they were meant to replace it for 4 weeks. Took 5 weeks for a replacement so I guess I got a wildfire S as a sorry gift.
Even better that it has only been out about a week in the UK
Who says its only Android that is fragmented? A look at all the replies by HTC CC shows it.
Well I guess that means we either find xtc clips or we move on to other, (preferably) non-htc phones.
cccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
I was knowing this would happen the main reason behind this is network locked phones. If any1 gets the bootloader s-off they can easily flash radio and unlock the network and can use any sim card..

I've been using a htc phone for the past six years, my wildfire was locked without my knowledge or permission and if it is not going to be unlocked it will be the last htc I buy.
Sent from the last htc phone I'll own using XDA App
The old devices will not be unlocked I think. Only the newer devices will be such as the wildfire S etc.
I think it's too much of a pain to unlock the bootloaders on the old devices as well, and I don't blame them, it's only a waste of more time and money.
If you want an unlocked htc then replace your old one with a newer and better phone....if you are too greedy for that, then use unrevoked.
That's the way it's always going to be, no need to blame the company for that. You would all do the same when it comes to more expenses.
Peace

OnePlus marketing strategy? (Anyone interested on being interviewed?)

Hey Guys!
I am writing dissertation about OnePlus marketing and their marketing strategy. My research is focused on consumer decision making process, the tipping point theory (invitational model of oneplus) and I am looking 3-5 people to interview. It doesn’t matter if you love or hate your OnePlus, all feedback is appreciated.
I am conducting the interviews on skype (only voice, no need for video communication), or if you are in Barcelona I can also meet you. I have no rewards to give to the participants, except the change for us to network and who knows in future do business together.
If anyone of you would be interested on having a quick chat on OnePlus, I would highly appreciate it. Also all the feedback about OnePlus and their marketing is highly appreciated.
With best regards,

I can't do the Skype but please see my experience with OnePlus service below:
I have recently ordered several One Plus Two accessories from OnePlus. They sent the wrong items in the two packages that I ordered. I called their Help Line and had to wait for half an hour for someone to pick up the call. I also tried the Online Chat and my number was simply skipped over.
When someone from the OnePlus Support Line eventually answered my call, I was told to send photos and my issue would be given high priority. A ticket was opened for me and I replied with photos attached. No reply after a day so I called again and was told that my issue has now been given top priority and was asked to wait for 48 hrs for reply. After 36 hrs, there was still no reply so I called again and was told they couldn't get through to their logistic department.
As I needed to use the item immediately on my new phone, I re-ordered the item that was not sent in the original package while waiting for OnePlus to sort out the problem. That item was issued with a tracking number that Royal Mail (post office in the UK) can't recognise with the comment that it's a wrong number. I called the OnePlus Support Line and was told she couldn't get through to the Logistic Department but Royal Mail can't track item less than 500g. I then called Royal Mail and was told that items less than 500g CAN be tracked.
OnePlus then replied to my ticket to ask me to post photos again and showed me photos examples of DHL packaging with the delivery note. The thing is, Royal Mail packaging is different and it doesn't have delivery note. I can't produce the DHL package and delivery slip when they sent the items to me by Royal Mail.
Really terrible service. They have no idea how to provide service to developed countries. I have yet to use my new One Plus Two phone. I am waiting for the accessory (that never arrived) to start using my phone. Having read a few comments about phone defects, and with my own experiences of their terrible services, I am really worried if my phone is not working well.
If you have problem and require their service, you have to prove that they made the mistake before they will rectify it. The Support Line is very hard to get through. The instructions on the ticket are also not entirely clear. Expect a 3rd world service if you are from developed countries. Like the justice system in China, they have to be proved wrong, and wait for a long trial, before you get your justice.
Thank you for the interest!
Thanks for the increase and thanks also for the negative feedback. All feedback/experiences are welcome.
I am still looking for 1-2 people to interview. If you are interested send me a message or post here.
With best regards
Allar
Hi! I would be interested as well. Although my vocabulary is not that strong but i'm sure we would be able to have a good conversation. Hit me with the timings and details.

Im willing to participate and help you with your marketing dissertation, I'm currently completing my marketing minor for my degree, and would love to dissect Oneplus' Marketing strategy as well, i find it very interesting.
Unfortunately Im in the U.S., so Skype might be difficult, but PM me if you need another participant, maybe Hangouts could work.
Best of luck with your study and research

ZTE Technical Contact Needed.

Hello,
I have a client out of Australia who has purchased 1,500 ZTE Blade A602 from Telstra. My company provides mobile device management for Android devices, and I need some assistance from the community. I need to get ahold of a ZTE employee who is either a developer or a technical contact who can put me in touch with a developer. We work with OEMs all over the world to provide our MDM services, but ZTE is new for us. I have successfully found contacts from Lenovo, Dell, and HTC in the past using XDA and I am hoping that I can do the same with ZTE. Please PM if you know anyone who could help. This client is going to purchased several thousands of more ZTE devices, so it is definitely worth ZTEs time.
Also, if this is not the appropriate place for this type of question, kindly advise, and I will move it to the proper thread.
Thanks in advance.
Never mind. ZTE announced today that they are ceasing operations. My client has decided to go a different route. Thanks, anyway.
