Latest up to date software (2.3.5) - Galaxy S II General

Hey pple been resarching and latest seems to be 2.3.5. When i search in kies says i have latest which is 2.3.3. How can i update?
If its been asked before sorry
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium

The updates are available but not at the same time and not in all countries. It depends on in what country you live and what branding the phone has.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App

Android version 2.3.5 is leaked, if you want it you'll have to flash it via Odin. The latest - official- version of Android is 2.3.4 but as stated previously, it depends on what country you live in/your phones brand/etc.

Im in australia. How can i check if im branded?

There is official 2.3.5 versions. For example ki8 for the Nordic region.

Yeah, battery life is pretty damn good now.
I'm running stock too.
Oh, and the sound is better.

Go here to get the latest stock firmware..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Read the 1st few posts to get a handle on how to flash his stuff.
Forget keis. Anything you can get through keis is here on xda and quicker to flash.
I'm using KI3 with Optus.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App

I'm running KI4 (2.3.5) and DUKF4 modem (3 Australia) and get good battery life plus data connectivity. On Optus in Perth and get H+ in some areas.
The DUKF4 modem has worked best for me. I have flashed other ROMs and with those modems all I got was Edge connectivity.

Follow my previous link and read the 1st few posts.
Intratechs firmwares are official if they are not classed as Frankenstein.
They are not rooted either.
Just follow that link and see if your areas firmware is listed or listed in the link in his threads 1st post. It's the same as you get off keis.

What product code do you have? If its TTT then there is an update in kies. Just download the latest kies and update. Then you can root by flashing speedmod or with superoneclick. Then please share the modem! If you dont know how then i can explain it is very easy. I have been looking for this modem for quite some time!
If you have any problems updating send me a PM and I can walk you through it.
Cheers
well the model is GT-I9000T
Firmware version 2.1 update1
Baseband version I9000TUBJH1
Kernel Version 2.6.29 [email protected] #2
Build Number Eclair.UBJI1
Could you send me the link of a good tutorial for the update or walkme through it.
I have connect my mobile to the Kies (latest version) but it seems that for my company (Tigo) and my country the Froyo version is not abailable yet...
so what are my options?
product code: GT-I9000HKTTTT
First you need to change your csc. Type *#272*hhmm# where hhmm is current hour and minutes on your phone. Change your salea code to TTT. This will also wipe your phone but its must.
Now.connect with kies. Let me know.

what else should I do?

Ok I'm new with the whole rooting business. Done some searches but can't find a clear answer.
Currently on uk o2 s/w and not too fussed about rooting tbh. To get this latest 2.3.4 installed am I right in thinking that I 1st debrand and then flash it without rooting? Does that make any sense at all?
Will this void my warranty if I need to flash back to o2?

BTW, maybe you will have to change modem. I'm not sure what kind of network Canadians use.

It looks like you have an i9000m, maybe from Bell/Virgin and not an international i9000?
Either way you'll be needing the KG3 modem to use your phone in Canada.
Might as well get the all-in-one North America KG3 firmware from here. Or choose JVP,JVU,etc. from the link. I'm also kinda surprised you haven't found this link before, based on your xda experience level. Just a little more polite in saying so, ha ha.
If you try other firmwares like JVU (I've done), you'll still need to flash the KG3 modem again instead of for example JVU modem.
Have at it.
^ haha i have my moments sometimes... But i actually cant remember what my phone came with. I got it factory unlocked off of local classified ads. Then i remember that the day i got it i used CFroot as my first kernel. On my computer, i have the JVP CF root kernel, hence my search for it.
Thanks though, i must just be having an off day.

Why not flash Stock I9000UGKG3 (2.3.3), its Bell's latest (but not new) with Full Canadian CSC (Bell/Virgin/Sasktel) and PHONE; Pure Stock.
I recommend you to flash 2.3.4 JVQ then get the offical value pack from kies. Jw4
change csc to xeu after flashing jvq then tada!
