[Q] Com.android.phone Process Problem- HTC Wildfire 2.3.7 CM 7 Nightly - Wildfire General

Ive tried to find out in other threads but not found a solution yet...
Ive deleted 1-2 system apps and now I get this error code: " com.android.phone" force close. since this I cant connect to Internet( Wlan works but not the other one, dunno the English expression ).
Fixing permissions and reboots havent worked. The stupid thing that I dont know whats missing at all.
Looking forward for your answers.

Reflash the nightly without a wipe.

Do I lose my Apps and Data then?

you wont lose any apps or data unless you have placed them as a system app.

How do I place apps as a system app`?

You don't, that's the point! Flashing the rom again will replace the system apps you deleted and by not wiping data your user apps should be fine.

[Q] Clean update, one-click-root, Market not working properly

Hi,
I can't find the solution to this problem.
I had originally a Dutch Vodafone branded X10i.
Debranded it -> ok
Rooted it with the old method (install .16, update, root) -> ok
Had to repair some mistakes and reinstalled the X10i again.
First back to .16 from the old root method.
Update OTA to .23.
Update to .26 had to go with SEUS.
Installed the new root function (one-click app X10root.apk).
Reinstalled my apps and data with Titanium Backup.
All but some apps seem ok.
I can't find some apps in Android Market anymore.
For example I'm missing Paypal (is free), Hit it light, GoTo (lockscreen, paid).
From the applications menu I:
- erased data from download management
- erased data from gmail
- erased data from google apps
- erased data from google talk
- erased data from google talk-service
- cleared the cache of market
- erased data from market updater
- erased data from gmail storage (opslag van gmail)
I can't find anything called IM or Instant Messaging or so.
I throttled the phone.
Started Android Market, inserted my credentials.
Still no luck.
What can I do next?
Have you tried the market fix?

Which one?
I know there's one from the original thread to gain root, but I thought that one was needed because .23 was deliverd by that thread. Do I need to run that market fix ?
Or do I need to use Eris Market Fix app?
Or is there another one?
Not sure which you would need to try, but would imagine it would be from the thread you used to root.

How come some apps are not available via market in some builds?

Hi last few builds ive used cant seem to find apps like paypal or norton security etc.
Ive checked all locations in settings and they seem fine and also set the market as orange UK.
Is there anything else I need to change so they show?
Currently using Beta2 of the Desire HD rom.
Try using Market Enabler
I had the problem with my current build (see sig).
I read somewhere that I needed to install the Eris Market Fix app from the market, which I did but it didn't fix the problem, at least immediately.
Apparently you also need to clear the cache in some occasions too. It's only after clearing the cache that it worked as normal. well at least I think that I cleared the cache, since i emptied the cache folder from within my android folder. give it a try!
Already tried the market enabler. Have just tried that market fix and also cleared cahce and rebooted but still same problem
Thnx for suggestions guys, any more?
Then download your desired app from your computer then transfer it to your pc I think it should work this way

[SOLVED] Problem installing several apps

Hi. Had my zee for a few weeks now and generally finding it great! However in recent days I've been having big problems installing apps, either via appbrain, market, or directly. Some work some don't and I can't find a common thread between them.
My zee is rooted and gfreed but stock otherwise. The apps that wont install include angry birds and the BT phone app so they are not by amateurs.
Any advice on how to troubleshoot? I've cleared the market apps cache and data, uninstalled ad free in case it was checking but still no joy.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks
Gavin

What happens? Any error messages. Is it all/every app from market? How about when trying to install apps from apks?
Edit... oh OK, some apps, not all. Do you get any errors or does it just say install failed? I would probably do a factory reset then try again, if fail, I'd start from scratch again.

It just says ' installation of x was unsuccessful '
Which is less than helpful! I've tried the angry birds apk and get the same
As I say its not all apps, some install fine. Is there a logfile somewhere that might give me a clue?

You could see if you get anything useful from a "logcat". Google how to do it. Maybe search "android logcat to SD" so it autosaves to SD. But they are pretty hard to desipher. Start it running just before you attempt the install so you don't get a file that'll take weeks to read through.

I had this exact problem with my old Desire, some apps just refused to install (like angry birds) and it all happend out of the blue. Never did check logs as i changed to the Desire Z shortly therafter. Atleast it's not google account related.
Solved....
Many thanks to ddotpatel for pointing me in the right direction.
I've solved the problem (for now) so though I would post my experience in case it helps someone else.
using adb I produced a catlog on the sd card ('adb catlog -f /sdcard/cat.log') while trying to install Angry Birds.
Reading that pointed me at a problem with '/mnt/secure/asec/smdl2tmp1.asec'
After some more googling, that lead me to the folder .android_secure on the sdcard, and the file smdl2tmp1.asec within it, which I deleted. At the same time I did a chkdsk which did find a problem, but whether that was related I don't know.
Anyway, after deleting that file I tried again and all the apps that wouldn't install immediately installed perfectly without a hitch.
Not sure what that file does, but google suggests that its a relatively common problem, so maybe someone else will benefit.
As always, XDA proves its worth!
Gavin
Could you tell us what led you to believe it was that particular file,... what kind of error message is there? Just so we know what to look out for.
And don't forget to add [SOLVED] to your thread title.

Sure,
The relevant lines in the log were:

App problem

Hey guys, I have a problem when installing new apps or doing updates.
When I try to install new apps (angry birds Rio) it will download but not install, it has done this on other apps too. I have deleted apps to make room and done a factory reset and its still not working.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Have you tried to wipe the marked data from application settings? Don't know if it's going to help, but it's no harm in trying
Does it give you an error message when it gets to the install process? You could try unmounting the SD card temporarily before you try installing apps, this solved the only problem I've had installing apps from the Market.

Settings - applications - all aplications, locate marked and wipe all the data. Next time you start marked you should have to agree with terms as you did the first time.
Tried that mate, still not working

I've had this happen in the past and the only way I could get around this issue was to delete the file 'Smdl2tmp1.asec'
To do this, connect your phone to a PC and use Windows Explorer to search for the file. You will need to set Windows Explorer to read hidden files for it to find this file.
Hope this works for you too.

If the apps download but don't install you can install them manually. Using any file manager head to /cache/download , here you will see all the apps you tried installing recently. They don't have useful names but the icons should help you remember what they are.
Find the package and install it manually.

Right I sorted it. I took out the sd card and it installed it for some reason

[Q] Having some issues, please help!!!

Hey guys Im having some issues with my mt4g. Every time I try to open apps like facebook or twitter it says "An error ocurred while loading this page" and gmail says No Connection. Even if Im on wifi its the same. I have a nand backup from a couple of days back and even if I restore it its no use. Can still use the browser though.
I have been using LCDDensity for Root app and Root Explorer but only used it to search for something. I do not know if it has something to do with the problem.
Please help.
Try uninstalling Facebook and then install it again from the market, not a backup. It sounds to me like you may have corrupted the android_secure data. That is where the system manifest of what apps are allowed to access is located. These permissions are not the same as file system permissions. These are the list of things you are shown when downloading some thing from the market, like hardware permissions: read/write sdcard; or full internet access.
If the reinstalled app works, then I would think that all installed apps will have issues.

Was going to try that but the Market was having problems too. So I reflashed the ROM and everything is working fine for now. Thanks anyway.
