Commontime releases mNotes 4.1.0 for WM5

CommonTime is pleased to announce the immediate availability of mNotes
version 4.1 which includes support for Windows Mobile 5 devices.
You can download it from:
Desktop/laptop installer (for individual users);
http://www.commontime.com/downloads/4.1.0/mNotes_ceEN.exe
General purpose installers (for server installations):
http://www.commontime.com/downloads/4.1.0/mNotesEN.exe
or
http://www.commontime.com/downloads/4.1.0/mNotesEN.msi
If a previous version of mNotes is already installed on your PC, you should
uninstall it (from Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs) before installing
version 4.1.
Please note: your first replication may take longer than normal and may
even appear as if it has frozen part way through. Please let it continue
(do not tap the Stop button or soft reset the device) - the replication
will complete and your second and subsequent replications will be
considerably faster.
mSuite: CAB files for mSuite users will be available for download within
the next 24 hours. If you are a corporate customer using mSuite (as
distinct from mNotes), as wish to be notified when the mSuite CAB files for
WM5 are available, please reply to this message using the subject "mSuite

Hot fix to enhance response time for HTC Touch HD

Found it on the HTC Website:
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=179&cat=0&dl_id=448
Hot fix to enhance response time for HTC Touch HD Date: 2008-12-04 Category: Hotfix
Sometimes the screen stops responding for about 3 to 5 seconds when running an application that needs to use the stylus to click the screen repeatedly within a short time. For example, the windows built-in software like SMS, email, solitaire, etc.
Installation Instructions: Follow the instructions below to install this software onto your device.
Note: This hot fix can only be installed in ROM version less than 1.19.xxx.x. To check your ROM version, tap Start > Settings > System tab > Device Information to confirm the ROM version.
I have installed it on my german 1.14 ROM, but dont see any speed improvements yet.

[APP] Pocket Freeware (developer release .13)

2/3/09 Update
I have updated the pocket freeware program with the help & permission of the Freewarepocketpc.net site.
I am looking for 1) feedback & suggestions, 2) testers, 3) B4PPC developers to help out - I want this to be a program that is useful and maybe even be something that could turn into an "App Store" someday (limited to what freewarepocketpc.net, of course)
[Description]
I've started another project over at Basic4PPC - this is called "Pocket Freeware" The goal was to create a client that would let you scroll through the software titles at Freewarepocketpc.net and install them directly onto your PDA.
Project url: http://www.basic4ppc.com/forum/open-source-projects/3487-freewarepocketpc-net-client.html
Released under the GNU General Public License
Current version: D.13 (developer's release)
Install instructions: unzip & copy to PDA. Program will create any directories and files that it needs. (this is a developer's build. future public releases will have a cab)
Attached: PC and Pocket versions (zip)
Features
1. View applications by New, or by category (edit categories.txt file to customize what categories you want)
2. View application detail - if app was installed by "Pocket Freeware" it will have checkmark and show both installed date and latest available date.
3. Download & install
4. Pocket PC and PC versions
Future or still in development
1. View list of what has been installed from freewarepocketpc.net with this app (and check for updates!)
2. Landscape mode (not implemented due to my laziness and focus on features)
3. View listings on freewarepocketpc.net's shareware site
4. More robust downloading (working with site owner)
5. Save settings (currently hard coded, some you can change during run-time)
6. Clean-up details page (artistic, I am not)
7. Your feature here?
Instructions & hints
1. Checking an unchecked box in the details page will download and install the app
2. Clicking on the image in the details page will enlarge the image. Click on image again to minimize.
3. Little "X" in right hand corner of details page will close the details & return to listing
4. Double click (or press enter on dpad) to select application to view details. I may add the detail launch on the main page image in a future release
Sounds like a great idea.

The owner of the PocketFreeware site had some concerns with it, so I decided not to continue it. However I have been trading e-mails with them so something may come out of it.
I have a screen shot posted on my wiki: campusbbs.freehostia.com
Yea, I saw that... too bad cuz I flash from time to time and don't have a back of a file. Anyway thanks for the info.

See main post for details.
The PC version works ok; the ppc one, instead, not: the upper part (where in pc there is the app list) is blank, and i can only see the description of the first item (as now PockeTwit) and its image. Nothing else. The lower part (WVGA-VGA) is also blank.
Device: HTC Touch HD, rom 1.13 ITA

Thanks. I'm using an external library for some of the controls (ie the listbox that doesn't show on your pda) and thought they would size properly.
The HTC Touch HD has a screen size of 480x800 - I'll check the code to make sure it handles this.
UPDATE: I made some changes on how controls are sized and tested this in the 240x320, 240x400, 480x640, and 480x800 emulators. They seem to be working correctly now.
Pulled the links again? All I see on the basic4ppc thread appears to be source code? and no link to anything here either. Dead project?

Backing Up your NV_data
Thread With more info
The reason its important to back up your NV_data (Non-volitile) is this has your imei, product code, unlock codes and model. This informatioin is not recreated with a JF6 OCD (One click downloader)
Certain Roms write data to your NV_data
(i think it was JPC leak from I9000 that was the first one. it changed everyones product code to I897ZKAKOR)
Axura changes the product code to I959ZKATMB or something like that
The Correct Product code for our Captivate is I897ZKAATT.
If your IMEI says 004999010640000 this is incorrect also and you may find your phone to stop making calls as this is like a debugging or prototype imei
Finally, if your unlock code is FFFFFFFF, you need this repair in order to unlock your code
All of these can be fixed with Helroz's Repair_nv_data.zip Found Here: http://perso.numericable.fr/helroz/P...ir_nv_data.zip
I did not create the software or any of the instructions, THis is credited to Helroz in the vibrant forum (please thank and donate to him) he came up with all of this, Im just sharing knowlage.
this can be found here: Unlocking Tmo Vibrant
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=103
Just read the read me first. then the .Doc Make sure you are at Stock JH7 (I didnt try jf6) and root with busy Box (Super One click by CLShort Fuse worked for me)
Then Step 2,3 and 4. Monitor your phone for SU access attempts, it has several and be patient and read what its asking you to look for,
Now if you havent Backed up your NV_data then now is the time. I Use root explorer and just copy the /efs folder to a safe place (I have a copy on my ext. sd card and a backup hard drive)
You can also Use SGS tools (not SGS tool Box) to do a product code check. This also copies all of the pertenant NV_Data files to a folder on your internal SD card. you can use these also if you want.
Flashing JPP Modem to enable 850
The only guaranteed method for enabling 850 on jpp that is proven to work every time is to:
Flash stock using odin
Flash jg8 modem
Flash rom with jpp modem
Hopping around to other modems and back to jpp after this will kill 850 as well.
For some this is not an issue as they are in areas where 850 is not utilized by AT&T but for others jpp will cause headaches if they try using it without following these steps.
Themes and Graphics
Disable Vodoo before flashing themes like blackfroyo with recovery. (if Running vodoo)
How to change Boot Animation.
1.Find the animation that you want (most be compatible with captivate)
2.Copy bootanimation.zip (it must be named this) with a file explorer that gets you to system files ex. Root explorer to system/media
3.Reboot

I have a request. Could you skip the GB launcher that seems to be in most roms? Not that I don't like it but being able to drag the phone/messaging/etc buttons around on the dockbar is the most useful thing. TW Launcher is cool. I'm running perception 10.1, one of the main reasons is the launcher
is hardcore's kernel compatible with firefly?
I don't know what u did man, but I'm using Phoenix 3.5 and my GPS has finally worked man, before I get 0 satellites and now I'm getting.like 6/7 in doors! It went from.not working at all ever to smooth has hell.. I can't wait for.firefly, it will get my support/donation

The GB launcher is my favorite. If you have a touch wiz launcher I recommend backing it up. I wish I could accommodate you, but if I do it for you I have to do it for the next. I hope you understand.
I've grown to love Go Launcher, myself.
Looking forward to this, Phoenix 3.5 is pretty awesome! Missed the stock firebird kernel, but I flashed it and its way fast! Great job, looking forward to the latest and great from ya!

[HOWTO] Upgrade I9000 to gingerbread with 1.44ghz ext4/2, 6389 quadrant score

outstanding!! My galaxy s scored over 5000 quadrant score,
open yahoo homepage needs only abut 2-3 seconds!
My i9000 also got 65 fps on neocore test!!!
Actually, it should be work on all i9000 devices( not vibrant and captivate)
great remind: the first boot is lag, u need to lock the screen(once only) then the ui will be normal
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
guide:
New install
Be sure that you're based on a Froyo FW! CRUCIAL.
1: Download these files:
a) galaxy-efsbackup.zip
b) cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel.tar
c) MIUI Version. (e.g. BOZ V6b.zip)
d) speedmod-kernel-k13c-500hz.tar
2: Copy "galaxy-efsbackup.zip" and your MIUI version to internal SD.
3: Flash "speedmod-kernel-k13c-500hz.tar" via Odin, wait for reboot and after that shutdown
4: Start via 3-button-combo in recovery mode and install "galaxys-efsbackup.zip"
5: Pull out battery and in again, start via 3-button-combo via download mode and flash cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel.tar via Odin BUT DON'T check repartition and auto reboot
6: Pull out the USB cable and start (in download mode) with 3-button-combo in recovery mode (waiting until samsung logo appears)
7: Choose "mounts & storage" and format system, data, cache
8: Flash "MIUI Version".
Upgrade
1: Download "MIUI Version" (e.g. BOZ V6b)
2: Load "MIUI Version" to internal SD
3: Boot phone into CWM
4: Install zip from SD
5: Select "MIUI Version" and install
6: Reboot phone.
how to get ext2 and 4 work?
1) flash miui rom(eg boz v5) from froyo with rfs as the guide above.
2) let your i9000 turn on properly.
3) flash miui rc6. ATTENTION!! flash as the first time, not the way u upgradr miui roms
4) flash TkGlitchKernels for 1.50ghz
5) install voltage control
6) change voltage to:
1440 MHz - 1.475v / -50mv
1400 MHz - 1.425v / -50mv
1300 MHz - 1.375v / -50mv
1200 MHz - 1.325v / -75mv
1000 MHz - 1.275v / -75mv - If you have stability issues, try to let this one by default.
800 MHz - 1.200v / -75mv
400 MHz - 1.100v / -75mv
100 MHz - 0.950v / -125mv - (can be very different between two devices)
(this helps u to use less battery when u're overclocking ur device and on 1.44 ghz, voltage control can help stability)
7) install quadrant advance/standard

BATTERY USE:
after miui has released the MCG version, battery and camera bug has been fixed
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
some save battery use skills: turn the screen dimmer, turn the network mode to 2G data only when u're not going to browse the internet, it only cost 2% battery for 5 hrs.

although this is not possible to see how many marks it scored due to there's no live focus, you could still see the extreme long score bar

How about you post said screenshot.
Oh man, it's only benchmark glitch
That's awesome, i think I'm gonna try it (blow my phone for it)
you use yahoo? Oo
The mobile page of yahoo opens in 2-3s for me. I'm on JVK with the speedmod testbuild.
Quadrant: 1005
And it's smooth and responsive. As soon as hardcore implements fs conversion I will be very happy.
Btw. how is your battery life? my phone easily survives 3d with medium usage (1h/day)
But your battery stop quickly......
Oh, 5k in quadrant, **** yea, huh? When will you realise that othere is almost no point in ****ty quadrant? 2k, 5k, 100500k, no matter how many, it's placebo.
Of cause benchmark is nothing, but this is the first overclockable 2.3.3rom for i9000.
If I were u guys, I would try this rom..
theduckkingm, my i9000 can suvive for around 1 day with heavy use, 2 hour browsing, 1 hour playing music, some calls.
suvive 2 days with low usage. 30 mins play music, 30 mins internet, a few chats. U could also turn ur phone to 2G only when u're working in office os at school.
Is it work for everyone? Or is a same situation like in froyo that someone can use 1.3 but another can use only 1.2?
Sent from my GT-I9000
How about battry life ?
First question anyone actually managed a download from the given links .
Looks suspicious to me .
