Cleaner than "clean ec07" ? - Continuum General

I love my Continuum.
But... it is so much "noisier" than all other Android phones that I tried!
By "noisier", I mean constant bombardment of the system log by all the applications that run there and, most annoyingly, random interruption by unsolicited notifications, messages, RSS, etc.
This gets in the way of certain applications that I run in the foreground, so I tried an application called "Android Assistant" to help kill unneeded applications/services on boot. It doesn't help, as the system seems not to allow killing certain processes.
Is there a Continuum ROM that's cleaner than the latest ec07?
Is there a CyanogenMod ROM for the Continuum?
Frankly, I prefer keeping the existing ROM and only install a Market application that kills on boot all the the applications that I don't need (e.g. Market, Gmail, Corporate Email, etc.), but is there such an application that really works?
Thanks!

Titaniumbackup or a root tool to uninstall bloat / apps u don't use. That's short of setting up a kitchen and cooking ur own rom.
PS I'd try tib first cause I remember the trouble u had with flashing the rom to begin with

My ROM is less bloated, but it still has like Gmail for example

I enjoy a very minimulistic device with very little clutter and apps.. I am currently working on a rom based on nuckin's, with a few tweeks, apks removed and some added to my liking. i am currently flashing the first test. Hopefully with a day or two, or even possibly tonight if it doesn't get to late i will post it up in a beta form.

Thats what Im talking about when are we going to get Cyanogen to make us a rom

Good memory!
I actually took a look at TIB and the task of deciding which application or service to uninstall looks daunting.
This is especially scary when I am prompted by the following warning when I try to uninstall via TIB:
Some system packages are needed for your phone to work properly. If you un-install the wrong package, it's your fault and you may need to reinstall your ROM !

How do I know up front which system packages I can uninstall? For example, if I uninstall Gmail, will the Market stop working?
For example, I uninstalled a few applications that I don't need and now I am getting periodic "Force close" messages for the following:
hiddenmenu - com.android.hiddenmenu
Messaging - com.android.mms
What is "hiddenmenu"?
I am attaching a text file listing all currently installed APKs. If you could provide tips which ones must absolutely remain on the phone, that would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

well i think we could do something with CM as soon as/if we ever get an open source kernel newer than 2.1update.

[Workaround] Froyo- Workarounds for Common Problems- READ HERE FIRST!!

So, as Froyo is slowly becoming the standard around here, I thought I would post a few workarounds for some of the problems that people are having with Froyo and the wide selections of Froyo ROMS to choose from. I put this list together, as these problems I see coming up in many of the Froyo ROM threads.
So, I ll start with a few of the most common ones, and will add to this list later.
Issue -My apps are appearing twice in the ADW apps launcher after moving them to the SD card! (Froyo apps2sd)
Workaround-It seems almost everytime I reboot the phone that Im getting the apps appearing twice. If you uninstall ADW, and then reinstall it, then it stops. So what I ve done for the time being is to install ADW new, get all the widgets and apps you want on the home screen, and then go into the restore and backup settings in ADW launcher. Make a backup of your ADW settings and of your homescreens and save those to your sd card (it does this automatically). Then, the next time you need to reboot your phone and you see double apps coming up, just go into ADW settings and "Restore" your settings for the launcher and homescreens. Then the double apps go away, your settings are retained, and your apps and widgets are back on your homescreen.
If your using the same apps and widgets all the time, its probably a good idea to do a Nandroid after you ve done this, and to save the 2 ADW save files stored on your sd card just in case you ever want to quickly restore your settings again.
Issue- Froyo apps2sd is rubbish! I only have 40mb left on internal storage! I want the old apps2sd back!!
Workaround- First off, I have to admit that at first I didn’t like the new Froyo apps2sd. But actually now, I like it more, due to the fact that you don’t need an EXT or swap (meaning MORE SPEED), AND coupled with the fact theres a very easy way to get FOUR TIMES MORE STORAGE than the 40mb (estimate for 115 apps) that you have left. The solution? Easy..all you have to do is go into your ROMS settings, and “move dalvik to cache”. To put it simply, I have 117 apps installed on my phone. After I moved them all to the sd card, I had 40mb left. I then went into the spare parts on Emonthers ROM, and enabled “dalvik on cache”. I then rebooted, and VOILA…137mb free internal space.
I cant confirm that all ROMS have this option, but if your ROM does have it, it’s the way to go. From what I ve read (please correct me if im wrong), this space is allocated mostly for OTA updates. As most of us here have root, why not use that space to free up some internal memory! After doing this, my phone is running VERY fast and smooth.
Issue- My phone keeps rebooting at the load screen! HELP!!
Workaround -This commonly occurs if you didn’t wipe properly when coming from another ROM. If this is happening to you, you ll need to:
Pull your battery to get the loops to stop
Reboot into recovery
Do a full wipe, then if you have an ext partition wipe that. Also wipe cache and dalvik settings. This is very important. Then flash your ROM. Your Bootloops should then stop. And remember, if your partioning your card, remember to REPAIR EXT PARTITIONS. This is VERY important and will save you lots of grief.
Issue- When I record video my phone reboots! HELP!
Workaround- This means you haven’t installed the Froyo radio. You ll need to be sure you have either flashed the zip version of the Froyo radio or installed the image (Cyan says installing the image is safer. Im sure hes probably right, but I can confirm I have flashed the zip version of the radio and it works fine).
Issue-I don’t know which apps to install to the sd card and which I should leave on the phone! AAARRGGHH!
Workaround- From what I have read, what you ll want to leave on the phone are:
Widgets, apps that have widgets that you use, keyboards, and system apps. I also keep my sms app on the phone, although Im sure it will work fine on the SD card.
Issue- I just flashed a new ROM, and now the app launcher is all slow! Whats up with that??
Workaround- This is most likely because your apps are being automatically redownloaded and installed. This is a feature of Android that was added to Eclaire that allows Google (with your permission) to backup your settings (apps, wifi key, ect). Give the phone a minute and you ll see in your app launcher that your apps are being added automatically! When its done, you ll get a notification that says “ “X” number of apps reinstalled. Saves you time and work, and now your launcher will stop lagging.
Issue- There are so many Froyo ROMS! Which one is the best one!??!
Workaround- This is like asking if basketball is cooler than football. In short: it’s a matter of opinion. I can however share my findings so far.
Cyan6- We all know the quality of Cyan and TeamDouches work. When there ROMS go stable, they..well…they JUST WORK GREAT. Cyans ROMS are always very detailed and COMPLETE (trackball lights, wallpapers, advanced options) Right now, for me the ROM is still very buggy, so I would give it the number 3 spot.
RoDrIgUeZsTyLe- If you like overclocking and speed, this ROM is a winner! His ROMS have a lot of kernel options and overclocking enhancements, and are fairly stable. Very recommended.
Enomther- At this very moment, this ROM takes the cake and is easily my number 1 pick. Stable, fast, TONS of enhanced features and extra settings, and I can honestly say I haven’t had one FC yet. I can understand why hes one of the top dogs here. His newest ROM has been an AWESOME Froyo experience for me, and I ll be sticking with him until Cyan goes stable.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER FROYO ROMS. THESE ARE JUST THE ONES THAT I HAD THE BEST EXPERIENCES WITH. YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIENCE MAY VARY!! THE DEVS HERE ALL DO GREAT WORK, AND THIS IS BY NO MEANS SAYING THAT ONE IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER!
Anyway, that’s all I have for now. I hope this helps out, and I ll be adding to this thread as more common problems come to me. I hope it helps someone out, and I really hope it saves our awesome devs some time from answering questions. After all, it takes time creating all the awesomeness that they bring!

Quite possibly yes. Try deleting that folder, rebooting, and then try to install. Make sure the folder doesnt reappear after reboot. If it does, try just deleting it and then downloading and installing an app.
Also, be sure to let me know if it works, so that I can add it to the thread.
thank you for the information. I would suggest that you try Leo Froyo. Very stable and full of options.

Are u using the old apps2sd or the new? I read in another thread that deleting this folder was allowing some to download apps after deleting it. I personally haven't had his problem, but ill search around to see if I can find a workaround.
Download this file here and make sure it doesn't have .txt as file ext, but .xml instead. Rename if necessary.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6602402&postcount=8
Then follow this instruction.

If it doesn't work, you most likely don't have the shared_prefs folder. So just create one.
Hope it helps. Good luck.

LOL. Yes, I know what the new Froyo apps to sd is I asked because in many of the Froyo ROMS you have the possibility to choose between the new implemented from Google apps2sd or the old style apps2sd that we seen in builds prior to Froyo.
Have you given rjhay22's suggestion a try? Please let me know if it fixes so that I can get it added to the original post.

Thanks Im just hoping we can save the devs some time. I ll keep adding to it the more and more we find solutions.
Never seen any of these problems... Apps2SD is okay, just more apps need to support it.. I have 4-5 5M+ apps which don't, and it'd help a lot if they did. I'm sitting around 30M free after clearing browser cache with a ton of apps installed on my stock OTA.

well if you have the mod install location app you can force the option to allow apps to be moved to SD
@Dai323

ive read that the solution rjahays solution will work for enomthers for sure as well as modacos rom

[Q] Please help.

I'm a complete noob when it comes to ROMs / Apps / Themes, basically smart phones in general. Just got a Droid X for Christmas.
Thinking of using a ROM like Gummyjar2.5 or Rubix(don't know best version) because they seem to be very popular here. Anyone have any links for tutorials on installing either / both? And opinions to which would be better for a total noob? I want my phone to run faster / use less battery but still look pretty flashy.
As for themes, does anyone know where I can go to check out themes for the said two ROMs?
Thanks in advance for the help.
Roms are a mattet of how each person likes the feel of it for themselves. Right now, gummyjar 2.5, rubix 1.9.5, and liberty 1.0 are the usual choices. If you still want blur elements like you have it right now, then I suggest zapX bazinga, or apex.
All the roms run very well, but like I said, try out each. You will want to root the phone using z4root (google for it vers 1.3.0)
Then you will want to download droidx bootstrap. This will allow you to backup/restore your phone. It is also used to install the *.zip themes and ROMs.
As for themes, I recommend any of Bignadad's themes. He is the most thorough as far as complete images for framework and apps as well! Make sure that the theme you pick is compatible for any ROM you choose to use.
When I get back to a computer instead of my phone I can try and help out more =)
Ps... Look at the thread for each ROM/theme to see what you like and they will almost always include install instructions!
Hope this helps! Post back if you have more questions, I'm more than happy to help!

Ok, to start with.. No worries, we all had a point where we knew nothing about this stuff!
Blur is an "interface add-on" that motorola has added to their phones. If you were to look at the Nexus One or Nexus S, these two phones both have a stock version of android without Motorola Blur or HTC Sense on them. Sense and Blur are modifications of system applications and the user interface... Some people really like these interfaces, but most people are against it in the Android forums because they are mostly wanting performance (which is usually degraded by Sense or Blur).
Most of the ROM's now strip out the blur components (yay for our devs!) and that is what GummyJar, Liberty, and Rubix do. If you want a ROM with blur components, I would suggest using Apex or ZapX Bazinga.
2. That z4root and backup thing you said to download. Do I do that with my phone and just launch them? Or?
I have attached the z4root and droid X bootstrap .apks. What you need to do is copy these to your phone's sdcard. Then go to Settings-->Applications--> Check the Unknown sources check box. While you're at it press on the development section as well. Then check the USB debugging box.
You can then install these using a File manager such as Astro (free on the market) by opening Astro File Manager, and then browsing to the .apk file on your sdcard.
To root your phone after installing z4root, launch the app from your applications list, and then click permanent root. It will take a while (potentially) and then your phone will reboot and be rooted.
After that, then go to Astro and browse for the bootstrap apk and install that. This is what allows you to backup/restore. After that app installs, you will be prompted for superuser rights, hit yes.
Then open Droid X bootstrapper. You will want to click the top option, as that hijacks the boot process. Then reboot recovery will allow you to go to the backup/restore mode.
Check out this link: droid X wiki. I have to go take care of some stuff, but will add another post with some stuff.
3. Where do I find the threads for the specific ROMs / Themes?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=687
Use this link. This is the general Droid X thread page. The general section is just mostly questions and "general" stuff for the Droid X. The themes sections has themes.. lol and the android development has the ROMs.
Just read through the different threads and post back if you have questions.
So what does rooting my phone do? I get what backup / restore is, but not that.
This z4 is taking forever. -_-
So I went to sleep while z4 did its magic and it wasn't running when I woke up. How would I know it x completed?

EDIT: Also, when I installed bootstrap, it didn't ask me the question you said it would. Now it's showing an error when I want to do "Bootstrap Recovery". Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that didn't work.

Reboot your phone, re-run the Z4root program (phone will reboot) and after you should have a GREY Super User icon in your app drawer.
Hope this helps.
That worked, man. Thanks! So I have Bootstrap, z4 and ROM manager all ready. Now I just need to get a ROM and find one that has a slick THEME.
How do you like Liberty, Sys? I saw it was just something you put over the top of Gummyjar, which was probably the one I was going to go with if Bignadad (by the way, I don't know where to find his themes. =/) had a cool theme for it. Have you tried Rubix?
EDIT: I love Swype. Are these ROMs going to take it away from me? =P
I think many will agree that Liberty 1.0 seems to be the sweetest right about now..... try it out.
Got Liberty up successfully, but don't know how to retrieve my contacts.
hey i have one question, when z4 is done and you run bootstrap, the phone is empty of apps and contacts...and you have to do a backup from somewhere correct?

So you already have loaded liberty? Just trying to make sure I have my details straight. If you followed the install instructions and wiped data and cache then yes you will need to restore apps from titanium backup or whatever means you may have backed up your apps.
If you load a ROM such as liberty, then you will not want to use bootstrap to restore. Bootstrap completely backs up your entire phone state, not just your apps. Sorry if I misinterpretted any part of your message

So I've loaded Liberty, but can't "Link" facebook contacts to their phone numbers. Is there some option I need to enable to do this? Or should I go back to vanilla? That's a convenience I don't really intend to do without.

Is facebook installed on your phone? If not install it from the market and the initial setup should ask you if you want to set up facebook sync.
If facebook is installed to go phone settings->accounts and sync. Your facebook account should show up there and you can setup sync options.

Yeah, I have no problem with having my Facebook contacts in my contacts list, but I used to be able to link them with their phone contact. Meaning if I had a person's phone number, I could link it with their Facebook profile so their phone number would display their facebook default pic and latest status. Now, when I try to edit facebook contacts and add a number to them, it says I can't do that with this device.

If I want to go back to vanilla to re-do it, back it up, and then come back to liberty, do I have to download the vanilla zip? Or is there any way to just revert?
Also, I need a cool theme. Reg Lib is too boring. ;]

Sorry, slightly confused by your post... But I think I may have what you mean.
If you want to go back to vanilla (original phone condition) then you will need to sbf if you didn't take a backup before installing Liberty. If you did take backup using Boostrap, then I would recommend just restoring your backup.
If you didn't create a backup before... create a backup now with liberty installed in case you need a place to come back to for reference. Nandroid backups are your friend...
I'm not quite sure what you mean by vanilla, so I may be way off here. Feel free to add in some more details please =)
Yeah I mean I want to go to the completely original phone setup. I did do a bootstrap save or whatever, but bootstrap isn't installed. If I reinstall does it still have my vanilla Droid saved?
Also, how would I go about switching back to it? Navigating those menus makes me nervous.... Haha.
I'd go into Bootstrapper -- > Reboot Recovery... then what?

Okay... So if you have taken a backup before you did your install of Liberty (or any other ROM/Theme) then yes, it should still be saved on your SDcard actually. Bootstrapper creates a folder on your sdcard called "clockworkmod". Inside of that folder, there should be two more folders: backup and download. Inside of the backup folder, you should see a folder titled in a similar manner:
2010-09-10.04.03.48 (yyyy-mm-dd-hh.mm.IDK what the rest is.. LOL)
But regardless, this is what you should see. If you re-install the bootstrap program, then when you go reboot recover--> backup and restore--> restore, you should see this folder/option. You will use the volume up and down buttons to move the cursor up and down. Pressing the camera button (red) will select the highlighted option. You can use the back arrow key or power button to go up a level in the menus.
If this doesn't work, you can always SBF the phone (this takes the phone back to the complete original condition out of the box). It is slightly scary to do the first time (at least for me it was...), but I have probably done it at least 10 times now.
Let me know if the bootstrap backup works. Take note that you will lose any apps/texts on your phone that you now have unless you use an app like titanium backup to backup your apps, and an SMS backup app to save your text messages. The bootstrap backup takes you back to the exact condition the phone was in when you took the backup.
Lemme know if this works out for you! Good luck!

Dell build 351 is terrible slow and freeze

I upgraded to Dell build 351, and did not do factory reset.
I found it's just so slow. It freezes very often. When it's freezing, a popup window comes up(saying "force exit" or "wait"). If selects force exit, the stage UI just restarts. Anyone encounters this problem.
I also realize that I stop some of the services, such as OVO, weather update, and map location service. The UI becomes slightly faster, but it still can not compare to the old versions that I was using(probably build 318).
Do I have to do factory reset ? I just feel there will be too much work to re-install all Apps ?
Or another question. is latest Streakdroid as stable as official build ?
Thanks a lot.

How do you remove ovo, facebook and dell stage UI ? I didn't find in the "setup/application managment".
You will need to have a rooted phone and an app like Root Uninstaller to get rid is system apps.

1. When you upgrade using a Dell PKG file, that process functions exactly like a factory reset, except for the software upgrade. Just one question: why did you not update to 360, since that is the latest retail ROM and updates the bundleware (especially Oovoo)?
2. If the Streak freezes and you get constant force closes, you can try using Root Uninstaller to delete the apps you're not using and then change your launcher from Stage UI to one of the popular ones on the Market. Stage UI is a resource hog.
3. Given your symptoms, be aware that the very real possibility exists that you will have to flash the firmware again, despite removing apps using Root Uninstaller. I personally had such a bad flash in upgrading from 347 to 351, and flashing again solved the problem.
4. I can't answer your questions regarding Streakdroid. I'm on 360 right now.
Hello guys
i am also facing same problem on streak.
i am running on android 2.2.2 build 15609
Dell Stage ui Always crashes and force closes.. its so terrible..it slows down phone every time and crashes many times a day.
now i have following questions in my mind.
1. should i upgrade to 360 rom available on this forum here?

You will need to rOOt ur device. (if u dont know how to. pls search the forum there is a thread)
get a file explorer like root explorer (it gives u root access).
open the root file explorer. on the top there is a button saying r/w. click it and it will turn to r/o .
now , go to system/app. delete apps u dont need . and
now to data/data. delete the folders of the name of the apps u just deleted in system/app( as this one i do always, y to leave the data of the app u dont need and delete).
Now restart, (i prefer doing it this way. rather than using any app to do this.
hey jitin.
thanks for reply dude..
i will try ur method and delete apps that i dont need.
but is it safe to delete stage ui?
i mean do i need to install other launcher or something that works smooth..

Install any launcher from the market before you delete stage ui, otherwise you'll end up with a black screen that you can't do anything with. The most popular ones are adw, launcher pro, go launcher ex, and zeam. They're all good in their own ways.

Thanks for all the suggestions. After few days going through the post and experiment.
My Dell Streak is back to normal life. Here is what I did and found.
* I first did factory reset. Stage UI becomes smoother, but still some times lags, and force quit window pops up.
* I upgraded to build 360 because I am sick of OOVOO, which is always running in build351.
* After upgrade 360, I still see the ACCUWX.apk keeps coming back, and hog resource/battery. Even worse is a "connectivity problem" window pops up when I visit some of the web sites, such as engadget.com, and even quote.yahoo.com.
* Then I did root using (superuser.zip), installed zeam, and removed OOVOO, ACCUWX.apk, STAGE UI, FACEBOOK, TWEITT and some other pkgs that I never use.
* Reboot the streak. Wow, everything is so smooth now, and don't see "connectivity" problem when I visit those web sites.
I have been dealing with "connectity problem" for a while. That's the reason that I did upgrade to 351 from 318. I don't know which component caused the connectivity problem.
Another problem is there for while too. I found the Android Market App search button doesn't work(iit sends me back to home page of Android Market App). I have to go to Android Market web site to do the search, select the App that I found, and open it in Market App, and download/install it. Android Market App is updated automatically after I visit once. When the build was just installed, AndroidMarket App is old version. The search button is working in the old version. After I close the AndroidMarket, reopen it, it becomes new version. The search button doesn't work.
The launcher, zeam is simple, not that fancy compare to Dell Stage UI, but it's really slick. I am fine with the simple functionality. Fast response and light weight is more important to me.
Try to flash Simple streak it can help you fix this problem

Is there a way to upgrade straight from the phone without a PC?
Actually, yes there is. If the phone is rooted and you have disabled install-recovery.sh by renaming it to install-recovery.sh.bak or something similar, rename the file back to install-recovery.sh then reboot. That will replace Streakmod with the stock recovery.
After booting, download the ROM of your choice from the Wiki and save it to the root of the SD. Rename it to Update.pkg (including the capital "U"), and then shut down the phone. Turn the phone back on and run the normal ROM update procedure.
The updater isnt case sensitive (at least for the first letter), either 'update.pkg' or 'Update.pkg' should work, just dont expect much if you capitalize it randomly.
I always use the lowercase one.
The first letter typed into the Swype keyboard is capitalized and thus the file would be saved as Update.pkg. I think that was what I was trying to get across, but didn't do a good job of it.

I'm actually not running streakmod... I'm running stock 347 baseband but I'm also rooted. Can u give me instructions on how to do it the way I'm setup?
I already explained it. Just ignore the part about replacing the recovery since you're running the stock recovery anyway. You will have to root the phone again afterward since the standard ROM update process wipes everything.

3 Razr's - No more maintenance PLEASE!

I've been using my Razr i for a while now and so happy with it that I've recommended my friend and dad get one, they have and I've also got a backup one for business. I want to root and set up each one so that they will not need any more maintenance and have all intended features. Is there a ROM based off the original without the bloat ware? This would probably be the safest, most bug free one I guess? If anyone can recommend which to go for if I just want to do the 3 phones up, give them to their owners and never hear back about bugs or issues because the ROM.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Problems I have with my own:
Roaming nag - every time the data conenction drops while roaming, an acceptance/disclaimer screen pops up even though I've ok'd it 10 times already while in the same country that day.
Mass storage device - Miss having the phone show up as a mass storage device.
Space between numbers - I'm not sure if this is a new thing with the newer androids, a dialler issue or what, but the phone is automatically adding gaps between numbers when I try and save. I've a lot of numbers and prefer to keep them all the same formatting, which is, for example, +353871234567, if somebody rings me, sometimes it comes up as +353871234567 which is grand, other times it might come up as 0871234567 so all I used to need to do was delete the 0 and add a +, now when I edit the number, spaces are automatically added and it shows up something like 087 123 4567. This used to only happen with landline numbers and then sometimes if you tried to delete say the space between 3 and 4, it would delete the space AND the 3!
Winamp notification reappearing - I've been using winamp on my desktop for the past 15 years or so and the app is good on android but even after I close the notification bar item, it sometimes still reappears without me going back to winamp or doing anything. Also, it seems winamp stops playing if there's any kind of shock to the phone, for example if I put it down roughly and it bangs the table a little. If I could stop both of these happening it would be great.
So if there's a way to start from scratch with a clean, bug free ROM that fixes these issues and keeps the phone rooted, that would be great! any feedback appreciated!
Use pi llama
I am still on stock rom and have no issues.
Use twerkmymoto by jcase, install xposed and adjust anything you want.
For mass storage use this one, works for me (4.1.2 EU)

Thanks a lot for the replies folks.
I ended up sticking with stock rom anyway, but can you link me to this twekmymoto and xposed please? I'm a bit afraid to start installing stuff onto it to edit such things unless I'm sure I have the right file for the phone so would appreciate any app links
twerkmymoto
Don't forget to thank jcase for it and if you like his work, buy him a beer through his donate button
Xposed
click on download and install xposed installer 2.3.1
For modules I recommend using GravityBox and Greenifiy.
Definitely try gravitybox, or xblast tools. Great modules!

Just re-imaged my phone as installing this version of xposed bootloop'ed it.
Thanks again, might be a bit too afraid to use these tools. I don't even know what a module is and I want to avoid any risk of bootlopps and having to reinstall everything on the phone

You can disable the Xposed framework from recovery if anything goes wrong.
You just have to flash Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip - it will be on the root of sdcard0.

Problem is I haven't unlocked my bootloader yet so I have no way of flashing this. I installed the older 2.3-beta1 version and it works ok. Really trying to work out how to get rid of the carrier name without unlocking the bootloader though, that's the most irritating for me as it's a really long carrier name. Tried Carrier Name and XBlast Tools.
Bootloop xposed framework
Solved!

[Q] Galaxy s4 internal memory!!!

hi all, hope someone can help me with this. i bought this phone but it only has like 9gb available, i rooted my device and i wanted to know if there is something i can do to free up memory, since its running low. please help, its the GT-I9505
If you are rooted you can use a program like titanium backup to delete system apps. You nee to be careful i deleted samsung store and it messed with other fuctioning stuff. You might want to find a list of what you can and canot uninstall.
Try flashing a ROM, like Cyanogenmod, that isn't touch wiz based. I did and I haven't had a single lag or internal storage issue. Good luck!
try the Clean Master app from play store

im a big fan of pure google android, and this touchwiz just isnt for me. can you point me out to a stable rom?
Try using the latest snapshot of cyanogenmod, or one of the latest nightlies both are pretty stable and I use them.
All of the rom touchwiz or non touchwiz will have the same available space i.e 9gb because of the default size samsung has used for the os on this phone. I think the only way to get the full amount is to flash a Chinese version of the rom and to do something with the pit files. I wouldnt go near that if i was a noob to this though because its messing with the partitions

Root App delete is an unknown extremely powerful app. It will remove and push in a user app and turn it into a system app. It will remove any system app completely. To be safe you can completely disable an app which it completely hides away from the system (doesn't appear at all on reboot) and if anything starts acting up, you simply access the disabled app menu in Root App delete and restore it to resume normal functionality. That's what am using to lighten my current stock rooted s4 rom. It's awesome! Even android v1.6 can run it. You don't need to damage your stock rom just disable and watch over a period of time. If the system remains stable, delete the app permanently, if the default keyboard sucks, install your custom keyboard then push it into the OS for it to become a system app then delete the default keyboard that sucks. This app gives me a field day in making my rom lighter just don't select the Pro option use the Junior, it is very very powerful all for 100% Free. In google play if you care to look alittle harder, all the apps that are paid for, have someone else giving all those features literally for free . I specialize in finding fremium apps. All my apps are fremium apps
