I upgraded to latest 2.3.5 last month or so when it came out had no problems until last week that started ramdoms reboot like once per day and while booting back up starts playing this song ringtone for like 6 long ass time lol. Annoying. It stops like after 5 times and I really don't know wtf is this. Like a virus or some lol. Oh I forgot. First time it did it phone came up on safe mode. Says safe mode down left screen. And playing stupid song. After that I rebooted pull out battery and came up to life normally but stil playing the annoying song. Any idea? No root it. Stock rom uk version I think. In att usa

Isn't there a "boot sound" on stock roms ?
Try to flash a custom rom. No more sound.

Same problem on Samsung stratosphere. Except no safe mode. Hopefully someone can give us a helpful answer soon. If I wanted to root, I would have.

Phone keep restarting by itself ??

Ok so my hero keep turning off by itself. This is not the first time it happen, it'll be on then it will just turn off by itself. Even worse sometimes the led light will be flashing for a new message and when I press the menu button to unlock it, it restart automatically. It mostly restarts itself when the screen is dark and i always press menu to bring up the light or to unlock it. Is this mean my phone is now defective ? I mean this happened before on some other 2.1 ROM too so idk what it is. Can someone tell me how to fix this????? I've tried almost all 2.1 Roms Aloysius, DC 2.07.2, Trevs Damage, ZenHero , RegawMod (themed) and Fresh 2d. the only rom that didnt restart my phone was the Fresh 2d with the very first audio fix by Avalaunchmods but i already erased that out of my computer.
Hmmm, not much to go on. I had experienced a similar issue back on early ROMs, but it was so infrequent I never really cared.
Try a Nandroid Backup and then flash to a 1.5 ROM and see if it continues, if so then yes the phone may be defective.
Also try different 2.1 ROMs here, and let us know if anything changes.
Dude, seriously do you need to have such a big font? Its not necessary....
i didn't catch that, what did you say?
lol mr big font
this happened to me last night, i wasnt even touching the phone and this happened, but its been the only time and ive been using 2.1 roms for a while now...i think this even happened once or twice when i was on stock...
coming from windows mobile, im used to things like this.
This happens on my sisters stock phone frequently I don't really care to look at it though.
Big fonts aren't nice. Stop using them
Try a different ROM. You may even want to revert to stock for awhile, if it keeps rebooting you should return the phone for a non-defective handset.
LOL @ RTessi

I got that on EB as well. It's weird because it didn't start as soon as I flashed it. It was maybe about a week later when it started doing that. When it happened to me my phone would vibrate sporadically and then the screen would finally go "black" or turn off. The odd thing is the bottom four buttons would stay lit. I would have to pull the battery. It started happening more and more frequently. I've since flashed to EC and am rooted but that's it. I've been flashing back and forth between different set ups, so I haven't been on this current set up for more than 2 days. I did however have the same problem today at lunch. I had to pull the battery to get it to reset. I was playing a video I recorded on my phone before the screen went black. I don't know if it was media related. I will play some more videos and see if it does it again.

I Odined a fresh EB a couple of times and it would eventually come back. Not sure if it was a program I was using that triggered it on EB. I don't know if it might be a media issue. I use my camera and video pretty frequently, so that's the only thing I can think of at this point. It's the only thing I really use, even on EC, on a regular basis except my XDA app. I hope it's not that!...

I haven't with EC, but I did with EB and I still had those problems. Today was the first day that it's happened to me. I've only been on this set up for the last couple of days, because I flashed a couple of things and hoping that I would have better luck with stock. I will try re-formatting when I get home. I tried playing a coulpe of videos (the same ones as before) to see if I could replicate the problem, but haven't been able to yet. Hopefully that was just a situation to where the phone just needed to reboot....

!!! Y E S !!!
It happened to me four times today!
Does anyone know a way to get logs to continuously write to disk? Otherwise I have no idea how to troubleshoot this.
I'm running, midNIGHT EC05 with minimal apps installed. I use SetCPU, and I've just changed the settings. I'm thinking this may have started after trying to use 100MHz and "startass" setting. My profiles are now set to 200Mhz minimum and "ondemand." I'll let you know how that goes.
Having to use my old BlackBerry Bold as an alarm clock now, just in case!
EDIT: I did not format SD with this install but have formatted less than 2 weeks ago.
Happened again after setCPU settings were changed.
That happened to me but what's weird isnit only happened when I was on di18 kept having to pull the battery and once I updated to eb13 it all stopped

Do you have Beautiful Widgets installed? Is one of their widgets on your HS? .. Had this problem on DK28..
Same here. Like the term sod, btw. Happening when I use flash. I'm on stock ec coming from fresh odin, and formatted sd.

No Beautiful Widgets here.
I am running Go Launcher, which is new to me. Will likely eliminate that tomorrow. Oh yeah, the only other widget new to me is "Android System Info" (which is great, btw).
I run Pure Grid calendar and Sense Analog Clock widgets, but I've been running those without trouble for months.
Does anyone know how to change logging levels?
The only rom I was able to use without the SOD was myfrankenstein DK28. While on
EB13 it did it contstanly and much hasnt changed while running EC05. I formatted my sd card and only installed minimal apps. I tried not restoring from Titanium or Astro. Fresh install from market and it still happens. I've stopped using SetCPU, that didnt help either. I do have Beautiful widgets running on my home screen, but I aslo had that while running DK28. I have no idea what the problem is. It is a complete pain having to check my phone every couple of mins to make sure that its still on. Over night forget about it, every morning the phone is dead. Can anybody help me please.
I just Odin to EC05 last night.. and installed the new syndicate frozen rom... and my screen just went blank today.. so far it has done it twice in less then 5 minutes....
but I have noticed that if the phone is plugged into the charger that it wont do it.. no matter how long goes past.. thats the only way I know my alarm is gonna go off in the morning.. is to have it plugged in..
do anyone know if its doing it on plain Stock untouched modem and stock rom??
because if not imma flash over to that.. I cant take this crap too much longer..
I have had this so called SOD for almost 3-4 months and as a matter of fact I just ordered a replacement 10 minutes ago. My SOD involves the phone either rebooting or completely going black except for the bottom cap buttons, then vibrating in order once, then 3 times, then once, and so on until a battery pull. This has happened on the charger as well for some roms. I can tell you it does it on a stock rom. I just did a full reset, stock eb13, updated to ec05 OTA, wiped sdcard and everything except contacts. The problem exists, so I am almost 100% that it is a hardware flaw somewhere. I even did the ##786# reset. I'll let you know if a new phone fixes the issue :]
damn.. even on the stock rom huh???
well do anyone know if it might have something to do with rather journaling is on or off??
other wise.. i have not a clue of what could be causing it..
I have EC stock rom, but am rooted. It happens to my phone. It doesn't happen quite that often like you guys, but it happens maybe about once a day. It happened more frequently when I was on EB. It would happen at least 5 or 6 times a day. It's strange cause it never happened right when I flashed EB or EC. I was fine for a couple of days before it happened. Not sure why....?
I had to pull the battery 20 or more times today, same issue. Mine started doing it right after I added the news and weather widget to the homescreen. If it does it tonight im thinking of takin it back to stock and getting a replacement.
EB13 btw, flashed EC05 a few minutes ago and will try it out.

I had about six today. I'm flashing stock and running untouched starting tomorrow. If that doesn't fix it, it's replacement time for me too.
Sad, because a stress test on my phone at 1.4ghz ran fine.
Btw, I still use set cpu, but only in known safe configurations, no OC.
I just received my replacement. Brand new phone, I installed a formatted sdcard and synced contacts... within 10 minutes it seemed to be happening again. The phone was stock di18, then it updated to stock EB05... I have no idea what the problem could be now, since this phone is brand new.

No sound after OTA Update (CM)

Hey guys,
Im new to this forum, but i got a biiig problem since more than 5months, i sent my phone to samsung and they changed the speaker and everything whats with sound, so i think its software related, and i dont find any solutions to solve it. Ive flashed my I9505 with CM jftexx and then i did a OTA CM-Update and since then my phone fcks me really up: I got no sound often, sometimes i got sound and when its away i must reboot my phone 5-10 times and the sound is back, but sometimes it lasts a day and sometimes 10mins; When this sound problem happens, every video is in Slo Mo and sometimes i cant even play vids even with sound then the APP (Facebook, Youtube,...) crashes. When i press the volume buttons Touch-Wiz crashes and the phone reboots itself.
My Phone is Stock now and from Austria, i flashed it over 10 times to stock in different ways, but it didn't helped.
Sry guys if such a thread exists, please link them if they do.
Edit: Version 4.4.2
Hope u can help me.

anyone else experiencing random shutdown issue

Hi there,
I have been experiencing random shutdown on my one plus 5. It happened twice in 15 mins when I was listening to Spotify on my headphones.
Not sure if it's to do with the latest update or not .
Just wondering if anyone experienced this. I have also post on the 1+ community , hoping it's just some software glitch. Overall, it's an impressive phone. Oneplus should sort out there glitches before shipping the product out tho.
Yeah software glitch maybe try resetting your phone ..haven't had random reboots on mine so every device is not having it...if you can ..then replace yours otherwise enjoy it... there's always custom Roms...btw have u updated all software updates yet

Probably a malfunctioning app, try a safe boot to see if it happens again or data factory reset.

Nope all good here.
Happened today to my phone. Weird. Didn't happen again. I guess is a software bug or an app not working well.

It only happened when I was using Spotify when my headphones plugged in.
All good here as well. Hmm. Spotify? That's strange. Have you tried other apps? Like black player?

Hello, it happened to me this night, I was surprised when I woke up that my phone was on the pin-code screen. I didn't shut down my phone just put the plane mode. (4.5.5)
Happens to mine. Maybe 4-5 times since I got it. On 4.5.5.
Like, I will not use my phone, pull it out if my pocket and it'll be black, non responsive. I'm not completely sure if it's shut off already, or just non responsive, and need force shutdown.
Not much more to add than this :b
I have not experienced any random shutting down.
Any fix to that? I've had that happened to mine 7 times already since I got mine on June 26th. I've had the issue yesterday while sending a sticker on Facebook Messenger to a contact, and a couple of minutes before whilst playing Pokemon Go ... this is really borring. The last two times it happened, there was an update waiting to be installed (well, on the german servers at least, since I didn't have the update here in Belgium but once I used a proxy, I could download and install it), not this time tho.
I love the phone but my GF just told me to switch as if she has a problem or if I have a problem and can't use the phone, this would be really bad. I would prefere not to change, so if you guys have a solution, I'm all ears

That also happened to me more than twice. Not only in the night. Most time if the phone will be charged. I use only the dash charger. I didn't put it in plane mode. Strange problem. I have no idea why this happens. In this situation the alarm clock or anything else isn't working.

I don't understand why it's happening even in their 5 series. The 3 series has this stupid problem as well. Really frustrating. One Plus needs to get a grip and get rid of this glitch ASAP if they wish to remain in the game.

No Boot Animation Change in 2019 Seriously??

Looking into this and it appears we still have no right to get rid of annoying /system/media/ files in 2019. 2019. This seems unbelievable to me that I should be cursed with a carrier boot animation that plays an irritatingly loud jingle before anyone else rises in the morning.
Am I the only person turning off his phone at the end of the day? This inability to choose a .qmg in 2019 is hard to believe/insane.
Have you ever heard of airplane mode? Same as turning it off, but without really turning it off...
I turn off my phones once a day. I don't like charging them when they are on.

I actually downloaded one the other day. I wasn't able to even download it without simultaneously finding a new ota update for my phone in my notifications.
Now I have this 3.7GB download saved (it is a prior Firmware nunber now, ending in 5 wheras the new ota update's firmware ends with 6).
One thing though holds me back from flashing it in the future, not knowing if the new phone will be able to get ota updates if I flash it.

What, you turn off your phone at the end of the day? Hahaha, I remember this was the thing like 15+ years ago, even I used to do this when I go to sleep.
I guess you are the only one person doing this.
But I agree, music from the boot is hella annoying, while I used to the Nokia tune, I just hate from other manufacturers. I believe LG had option to turn it off in the settings?

You'd still get OTA updates even if you flash new rom. Also the version you downloaded is probably an old one. Download the one with September security updates (as for this date it's the latest). You must download unbranded one not the one from your operator they will work as long you have the same model.
Yeah, seriously what a boring boot animation Samsung has got.

Changing bootanimations in 2019, seriously?
I think you all misunderstand, I have a dang carrier boot animation which is not just saying "samsung" or something. And I would like to not have to see it (and in the unlucky case that I accidentally increase the ringer volume above vibrate during the previous woke period, hear it). At any rate yes I will turn off my phone and my wifi router though I am the only one considerate enough to do this in a world full of people who basically are zombies staring down at their phones, and not believing in science which will explain radio frequencies and testing which will show that radio frequencies do something.
All the zombies walk around, all day like, there's no internet infringing on my personal space right now.
And yeah you can shut your phone off and miss the call. Miss the alarm too. Quit your day job. Get your pink slip. Tell them all to **** off.
....soo......did you flash the stock firmware or not ?
