If you have 2.3.3 or better you can use the "Media Server" app to wirelessley stream any media files your phone has to your TV. But this is not a TV out, you cannot view what you're doing on the phone on your TV.

misleading..

No you can't. The LiveDock is incompatible with the Xperia Play and it only has a standard USB out jack and the DK300 has only an audio out jack. No connection to the TV screen whatsoever.

Guys the firmware on the play is multi device. Arc, neo, arc s and mini pro all get the same firmware but with diffrent kernels and basebands. This folder will be for one of the other devices.

Plus.. the "Video-out" could be basically anything. It could be some files regarding when you saving your edited videos or something strange like that Don't get your hopes up, that's just what i'm trying to say
but on the other hand, on the CES2011, they showed some games on a big screen live from the Xp.. but i THINK that's a lets say "developers version" of the play with mini hdmi out, i could be wrong. Or they had some kind of software code that could send video signals to a TV via an USB cable..

Yeah the developer version of the play had HDMI out. Sony removed it so the play wasnt a better phone than there flagship the Arc. Imo the hardware is still there, i think sony just removed the HDMI port and changed the casing

Transformer's HDMI Jack as an INPUT for onlive gaming service

Is there any app that can use the HDMI Jack as an input so I can use the onlive gaming service on my Transformer? I would love to play high end PC games on my tablet.
By the way if you guys haven't heard about onlive, you should look it up immediately.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
After doing some research it looks like the mini HDMI jack on the transformer is output only. Oh well I guess ill have to wait for an official onlive app so I can play the games.
Wait... I just find it hard to believe I can't stream video to my damn tablet.... with either another pc or network drive of course.

You can, but over the internet.
Really sucks. This could a great way to stream Netflix to your Transformer from your Netflix capable device.

It should be a hardware limitation. The hdmi port on the transformer is built to output. It will nevet take input signals. Just like how TV out can't become TV in.

Yeah I really don't think we are too far away from it being live for us. They have already demoed it on android tablets and just built a controller that will connect via usb or bluetooth specifically for non-pc users.

Interview from Square Enix about Android gaming & Xperia PLAY

Just read this, not superbly imteresting. They do mention that they are serious about Android as a platform. Dont know how true that is, yes we have FF1 & FF3 out now and the Crystal Defenders. Guess time will tell. In the article they do mention Crystal Dynamics working on a new Laura Croft game for 2013 and they mention it will be on a new game console..... PS4, Xbox 720? Time will tell, for now.. just sharing.

Does it matter if anyone is cheating in any of Square Enix game? Since the only one that have multi is Guardian of Light...
And to end off-topic - there's also Chrono Trigger on Android from them ( I dunno if it's in English, though).
What I hope is that they will focus on porting the PSX an maybe PSP games, not games-that-pretend-to-be-just-like-on-consoles ( vide Lara Croft & GoL).
And God save us from any FF XIII-13 or FF Together XIII...

I don't like the look of it - by which I mean doesn't seem all too sturdy.
If I ever do get a more powerful phone like the SIII (if my XPlay dies) then I might get one of these..
Yeah but, you look like an idiot if you carry a ps3 controller around everywhere It's a good invention though.

I sort of mocked it in my comment on the artricle, probably should not have. Guess we xperia play users are just spoiled. But I agree it would make you look like a idiot carrying around that and a PS3 controller. But I guess if that all you got its certainly better then touchscreen gaming... yuck
this attachment is based on the idea that you can root your phone and your phone is compatible with a $2 app that GameKlip doesn't even own. That dependability on other things keeps this niche accessory where it is.
I'll stick with my own devices that provide OEM support for gamepad (Tablet S has native Dual Shock 3 support, no root needed)
no, I bought this and S3. Life is awesome for me. Now I don't miss my Play. More Powerful than Play, and awesome gamepad. So, why should i keep my Play ? My friends asked me what is this Ps3 controller. I told them, I showed my S3. And they shocked.

Guys, Don't forget Sixaxis App. In Sixaxis you can map "ALL OF THE ANDROID GAMES". I have both of. (Xplay, S3) My Ps3 controller always with me.I don't use my Play anymore. In the school my bag is always with me, In home I can play every place in my house. So why should I keep my Play ?
Maybe you should bash the Play and prop up the S3 in the S3 forums instead? Have fun with your stupid clip and purse to put it all in.
I hope Sony realise all these accessories show they should release an Xperia Play 2 next year!

also i don't know if there will be devs working on this
also it's way too big for a discrete gaming/phone device
